I have played AFK arena before this game came out and I gotta say how lovely the game play is. The mechanics are easier and you get to see familiar heros in 3-D animation! Even the starter rewards are generous AND the prices in the shop arent as high as I thought..sure to look cool you gotta spend irl money but the game gives you prizes that are clothing items or HEROS. I wasnt expecting a fully vooced story so HATS OFF TO THE DEV TEAM!!

2026 the ad didn't lie. This game outstand in f2p so far that i have been playing other games. Rewards are great story side quests even players are friendly and non toxic so far. Been playing since 3 days and results are fabulous. I made pretty decent progress in the game. The most i like is that rewards and the heroes level. Heroes level all u need is 5 heroes for all to be upgrade. only the thing is that cosmetic items that u have to buy but rest is upto u to grind. So far i am enjoying it.

It should have been an AFK game but currently the daily task is being too much and too repetitive for me to handle. Advice : just stick to your core principle, an AFK game and reduce 50% of the daily task. Also, increase the homestead production to be more than 10 to reduce repetitiveness.

i played afk arena years ago, just found out this an hour ago. am enjoying this so much, just a bit bugged me. first playthrough just before facing wind elemental i noticed a spark with items on lower map, but when i get closer it just went with battle. i know its just gold and books i guess, but still bugged me. maybe i can get it later in the game ? or its just respawn every hour ? i guess ill never know..

i love the story so far, it is ad free, there are a lot of characters you can use and their designs are unique, maps are rewarding, i like catching fish there when I don't have anything left to do, it has a lot of events and a lot more. i have been playing for 2 months now and have 0 complains(exception they don't give enough rewards in events to upgrade your characters/pull characters from stargaze)

I play on the PC version and fell behind a season but they make it easy to catch up. I don't like gacha games but I really like AFKJ because unless you're a whale or a sweat in the Arena you can just use the heros you like and the 'meta' doesn't really matter. You also can get A LOT done as a f2p player and the only thing they gatekeep behind pay walls are just outfits for your Magister or some skins for heroes. I really like that.

The developers clearly don't care about their players. The guild capacity increasing from 30 from 90 was something nobody asked for. Powercreep is horrible, and they are clearly pushing money schemes even more. No celehypo swap, no change on max stages (way too many), and now these incompetent devs even lied about rewards of s7 increasing compared to s6. The game is failing because of the devs and they clearly don't seem to realize it. Listen to the players!

it was good initially, was an adamant daily player until 09/26. this game didn't do much the balance the gap between p2w and f2p. many problems come from the pvp and rivalry stats that make it really hard to win against those whose characters are more developed. not to mention which new characters and meta or not. I would consider myself a strong f2p in my server yet I is hard to maintain top 10 in daily boss and im often top 200+ in big bosses. Way too many popups at least 1/day for f2p

AFK Journey has officially become P2W. New Paragon systems, exclusive equipment, and constant paid advantages are making it harder and harder for F2P players to compete. It feels like the game is designed to push spending rather than reward actual progression. Very disappointing compared to how F2P-friendly it used to be.

Updated review. I have been playing since beta and i must say that i cannot recommend this game right now as the devs got super greedy: They introduced new power system wich is okay but at the same time lowered the rewards by a lot and added a lot of more paid packs. Hyped content and modes that were bad and very basic together with powercreep. And they gave vague answers, excuses or just silence. I see long time spenders quitting the game every week. DISSAPOINTED!

The art style and story telling along with the character designs are all beautiful, I've always thought so until recently... There have already been instances of gen AI detected through their marketing campaigns of the game, but it was never present in their core game. But now? AFK Journey is a genuinely fantastic time sink. The art style is gorgeous, and I’ve actually really enjoyed sinking my teeth into the storyline and character lore. It nails that comfortable RPG loop where you can hop in, make satisfying progress, and log off feeling good. My one remaining grievance stands: the fishing mechanics. Baking mandatory fishing minigames into main or side quests feels completely at odds with the rest of the game's flow.
