Completely butchered the game, everything is straight copied, from UIs of base building games and 3d designs from the actual game. I bet it takes 1 minuite to make this game, just copy and paste everything then release the game. I'm convinced 5 star reviews from the reviews are either bot accounts or paid people, and actual reviews are deleted from the algorithm. It would be a pleasure for you to delete this game from the playstore never to be seen again because all I see is a money grab farm.

This game is nothing like the originals

Age of empires mobile does not feel like what I expected from an age of empires game the whole point of bringing age of empires to mobile should have been to take the ideas that made the original games great and adapt them to a phone. instead, this feels much more like separate mobile strategy game that happens to have the age of empires name. I wanted the historical civilizations, resource gathering, building, armies, sieges, technology progression, and real time strategy that make age of empires recognizable. I understand that a mobile version has to make some changes, but it should still feel like age of empires underneath those changes. age of empires 4, for example, has its own problems that players can disagree about, what it still feels connected to the same series. The historical setting, civilizations, armies, buildings, and strategy are recognizable as age of empires. that’s what I wanted from the mobile game. I don’t want a completely different game with age of empires attached to it. I want age of empires adapted for mobile. please listen to the players who want the game to feel like the original age of empires games. The mobile version has an opportunity to bring the series to an entirely new audience, but it needs to be preserved what age of empires feels like age of empires in the first place

The game makes everyone work and spend money on big events and only the king gets the kingdom rewards which have permanent boosts and the rest get petty rewards which it never stated king only. Its a complete money trap and more then likely the devs have people hand picked to help them run kingdoms to get people to waste their money. I wouldn’t spend a penny on this rigged slot machine. This was one of the best games out there. No ads and you can play without having to buy in-game upgrades. Many different styles of play you can choose. BUT, after you grow significant resources enemy alliances destroy everything you have unless you pay big money to become more powerful. there needs to be a mode for people who just want to build things and be left alone. Don’t trust the negative reviews

Lvl 30+ player here. Game is very good - don’t trust 2.5 star reviews, those aren’t serious players. It’s mostly free, but paying $2 every now and then really helps boost quality of your heroes. One fatal flaw is that in each server there are 1-2 whales who spend thousands of $ and get SO much stronger than everyone else. Devs won’t automatically reassign them to an older server, so it’s the #1 reason most people quit the game.

Not your old school AOE

This is a fermium game and it is nothing like the old AOE. This game is terrible. I would not recommend it to any one unless they like to play a game where who ever has the most money will dominate. This game will not last because if you pay a lot of money you can basically lord around doing whatever you want. When I say lots I mean thousands on a mobile game. Not what I was looking for.

I wanted something that filled me with a sense of adventure, danger, and wonder. You know kinda like the desktop version in the 90’s or even Ark. What this game give is a sense of accomplishment. That’s it. 15 minutes of game play, I have a massive plot of land I did nothing to achieve. A ton of workers and buildings. It’s just like any other tutorial based farm game. You don’t choose the direction or pace you grow in this game. 0 choices. 0 risk. 0 accountability. I remember a style of gameplay, where while scouting for animals, to battle and collect resources from, finding mysterious groups of patrolling soldiers. And having to decide if your leather clad hunters could take on a group of six centurion warriors. Naw better wait for a smaller patrol, that captain looks fierce. So if you want a game that strips you of your time, and ability to strengthen your own judgment play this. I will continue my search.

This is aggressively marketed as being a mobile remake of the original game. IT’S NOT. It has some of the same graphics but it’s an entirely different game. This game was great when it first came out. Over the last few months my server has continuously been matched against servers with people who only spend money on this game. Unless you’re willing to spend lots of money, you will just be meat in the grinder. Your castle will take months to build up, but only 3 minutes until someone kills all your troops because they can. Towers, troop counts, walls, none of those matter when a big spender sets their sights on you.

this game drew heavy inspiration from starfield and it's load screens. I find it a little dull now with the constant reminds to click on every advertisements and the spam of mediocre rewards. I would say if you're not will to fork out over $2000USD on the perfect Lubu, King Arthur and Atilla build with perfect gear, mounts and rings, don't bother. I see myself as an AoE veteran as I still play AoE2. This game doesn't feel like AoE. It feels forced and rushed. No freedom as in the PC version. I mean how can you upgrade a commander to level 20 with in the first 5 minutes of the game. The prices in the game is very reasonable, however once you do you first purchase, the flood gates get opened. I rather stick to the PC version. Merry Christmas and enjoy your stay!

im editing fot another 1* theyre killing the game for f2p and all in favour of whales all gathering removed from events because kraken servers are botting instead of IP banning the users due to being super spenders fact the devs will not review this properly. adding content that f2p cannot catchup because krakens are maxed including things like new gear upgrades having 20% more eliminations servers such as 259 forced into era with servers 1 year older cannot make gap. all events based off money.

doesn't connect to the servers, installed it and loaded it up tried to join the server it gave me and would not connect to the server is this a UK thing only? or is it a virgin internet issue you haven't bothered fixing?. couldn't change the server so uninstalled the game... if your bringing out a game at least make it playable/connectable for everyone first!

Recent server mergers, put our Era against Eras where every player from the opposition are 2-4 levels Above us except a handful who have $ to burn. SO PISSED OFF WITH THIS GAME! There overall there is a lot of things to buy that is thrown at you as a new player. The upgrade system for heroes is way to complicated and finally the gear system is based on rolling for maybe getting the chance to craft the one you want. It was a pretty bad early experience that I can't continue to play.

I did not like the tutorial but that is cause I have played since PC, not happy with the pay to win, it is free to play but the inequality an loopholes are outrageous, I have been on 6 servers so far and even paid a few hundred myself to level up but the rules are not enforced, as far as cyber bullying , and unfair advantages. You Cannot keep up with the whales unless you free play round the clock, play smart and purchase special heros and boosts that give you overall advantage instead of coins.
