Zen mode

I never write reviews but I’m bored today.I feel that the zen mode shouldn’t be that like once you mess up a flip and fall instead of having to tap to get back up and gain speed again it should just be that you won’t get knocked from the flip.But that’s js my personal opinion

Great game, progress didnt save after deletion

its a great game, however i decided to upgrade my phone after completing the game and now all my progress is deleted for some reason (ingame). It says i have 19/26 achievements but opening the game prompts the tutorial

My favorite laid-back game!

When my dad introduced Altos Adventure to me, I ended up really enjoying it. That was pretty long ago and I still have it on my phone. When I found Altos Odyssey, I was really excited and happy to play it. Safe to say, I am a long time fan of these games. The music is amazing and the background art is gorgeous. 5/5!!!

Exceptional 👍

Awesome graphics and music, very calming… looks great! It’s awesome for when you’re going without WiFi. The only thing I would consider changing is adding more structures and weather, which would make it more interesting than it already is.

Make Sure You’re Not in Silent Mode

The audio is an essential component for this gem of a game. However, if you have silent mode turned on (so your phone will only vibrate when notifications come through), the audio won’t work in this app. Your music, podcasts, and other game apps may work…but this one won’t. Turn off silent mode and enjoy the game

A lovely game with poor weighting

I played a lot of Alto’s Adventure when it first came out, advanced to the final levels, and loved it. I played this a bit as well when it was first released, but fell off. I grabbed the remastered version today on Arcade+ and realized it’s a much better difficulty weighting and biome spawning. It feels way easier to progress. The developer did update the Arcade+ version with a remastered label so I’m guessing a lot of these fixes came since then. It’s a shame. I wouldn’t recommend purchasing this version, which is inferior. I just don’t like having endless subscriptions only use for one game that should be $5. I’d happily pay for the remaster. Once.

The music

This game is the most relaxing and addicting game I have played in a long time. I am disappointed that the music is not working it might be a bug in my phone but if it is a problem with the game, it would be much appreciated if that could be fixed.

Wall ride to backflip across a chasm doesn’t seem to exist. Been playing for days now and that combination doesn’t come up. The ability to wall ride and then backflip across a chasm. What wall next to a chasm?

Almost Perfect

I love this game and play it often, but hate that it’s always dark in the game. The only way to play it when it’s in its over used night time phase is by putting the brightness all the way up on device, and even then, it’s still too dark. It needs to be more even with the cycles.

Character

Paz is literally the most boring one of all, no tricks, all he has is speed, I can nearly do challenges with him because he is just a poor character, literally makes me want to delete the game cause I know I can never beat this mission as this guy, everything else is good but Paz is so unplayable, and sooooo boring

Great to relax

If you have an anxiety, pick this game up. Play when you feel it creeping. Make sure the sound is on. It helps calm me down. Only thing I wish for is a larger pause button. Sometimes it takes me a few tries.

We're really not sorry for the less than optimal experience at launch, and hope this goes some way to addressing that. I’m not a gamer I don’t sit on a couch all day I’m strawberry blonde not ginger I’m not 45 and living in my parents basement but this game is decent not as good as og but still pretty good. All the glitches it would start vibrating and bouncing all glitchy like when I crashed or hit a hole at weird angle if you fix that then I give 5 stars

Please fix ur bugs

It takes 50min to travel ~70000m and 2M points, the game crashes every time I get to this long. In particular, the screen abruptly turns grey then the distance becomes 0m and it says be careful with the rocks, it’s very frustrating.

Less features than before

I’ve returned to playing this game after some time away. While it’s as beautiful as ever I’ve noticed a couple features I enjoyed before are now missing, including the ability to travel through all biomes (now requires paying to choose one at a time) and the ride mode which was basically no scoring and no dying, you could just cruise endlessly. I loved that mode for airplane rides, just put me in a zen-like state. Still enjoy the game but wish it had those options.

I wish there was more; please make another Alto game!

I never write app reviews, but the type of game Snowman has made has continued to soothe my soul all these years later. I hope the team makes a new entry because, in a sea of half-baked click bait games, Alto’s story is the only one that brings peace to my phone. It’s been two years since the last update and I dread the day the game is taken down or is too buggy for modern iOS.

Easiest 5 stars ever!

This game is absolutely amazing! The art style and soundtrack fit the game so well and always help me to feel calm and less stressed whether it's regular or zen mode. The fact that you can play without any internet connection is something that becomes so useful on plane rides or road trips. This game is just as good, if not better, than it's precursor, Alto's Adventure, which I recommend just as much as this game. Alto's Odyssey is simple to understand yet challenging at the same time and makes the experience feel exceptionally well rounded. I 100% recommend this game to anyone as you are getting SO much more than the amount you're paying for it. I've never felt so strongly about any other mobile game and would easily give it 10 stars if I could.

Since I was a kid I used to play all the altos games and I still come back to it till this day. I wish there were more ways to customizing characters or seasonal events. Still tho really awesome game 🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺

Really needs more bug fixes

I have had a lot of bugs with this game. I have phased through bunting lines or just hit the barest edge of a rope bridge only to somehow crash because it was counted as a cliff. I have also perfectly executed the second goal at level 59 only to see that it didn't count.

Amazing game!!!

This game is great and I love it! It doesn’t deserve the hate that it gets. I used to play both games years ago and I came back and it’s still fun! There are a couple visual bugs like floating rocks and blocked text but other than that this game is worth getting 100%!! Please add more biomes, characters, weather conditions and structures. It would make the game even better than it already is. This game is 5 stars please update it.

Sound broke

Great game, runs very good on my phone but the sound doesn't work. The first time i logged in the sound didn’t work, i turned up the volume on my phone and in game, restarted my phone, reinstalled the app but nothing works. The sound still doesn’t work but still great game.

Fun until it isn’t

I love the vibe of this game and the gameplay is very relaxing, however, some of the requirements for challenges don’t spawn in for hours on end. I just got the second character and I’ve been playing for an hour straight with said character , but there is a challenge to wall grind into a backflip through a chasm. Immediately after getting this challenge, no wall grind option is available. It just doesn’t spawn in now, making it impossible to progress to the game. I would give it five stars if I didn’t have to wait over an hour for a wall grind to appear.

Did the developer give up maintaining the game?

I love this game and it's the only game that kept in my phone，but this game has many vulnerabilities, including but not limited to high refresh rate sometimes invalid, falling from the interface of the bridge. My device is iPhone13pro Max, but if I operate too fast during the play, the game screen will crash from time to time, and the game will often get stuck. These The problem has existed for a long time, but the developer has not been able to update and maintain the game.

Annoying

Save up and get the wingsuit right away. Skip the distraction of the magnet timer or the sandboard. The game is poorly coded to where—until you get the wingsuit—it will repeatedly force unclearable chasms on you. It will be a slog. You’ll earn ~50 coins/run and spend hours falling into chasms before reaching 7,500 coins. Once you have the wingsuit, you can fly over the chasms and actually play the game. The game is pretty good otherwise, but this flaw in the software development makes it unnecessarily annoying for your first ~5 hours of play. Aside from this, you’ll notice other little glitches, freezes, unsmooth landings, etc. Feels choppy compared to Alto’s Adventure. 3 stars.

Beautiful, simple, and immersive

I played altos adventure for a while before ultimately getting odyssey. The games are both amazing, but odyssey is a lot more polished and immersive. The way the atmosphere completely changes and the way you can interact with the environment makes game play very fun. The balloons, wall slides, waterfalls, etc., really add on to the game and make it worth to get (even if you already have altos adventure).

I actually love this game, but the controller doesn’t work on Apple Vision Pro

This game is great, but it shows that it supports a controller and on Apple Vision Pro it doesn’t work at all. Please simply activate the controller as simply controlling it with pinches is not nearly as accurate as with buttons. Again, big fans of the games and developers.

Increase Visibility

This game would truly be a solid 5:5 if I could see Alto. Half the game it switches to a night cycle and I’m unable to keep track of Alto. Between rocks blending into the environment to the impossible to see through wall riding parts, it makes for an intensely frustrating experience. Please allow a high visibility mode.

Decent successor - (opinion) minor flaws

Love the original and decent successor - my only complaint would be due to the different local and color palate of the game, in-game obstacles (rocks) are very difficult to differentiate from harmless landscapes making it frustrating and some crashes feel cheap and unearned.

Amazing game but…

This is game is awesome. It takes almost everything good from Alto’s Adventure and improves on it. EXCEPT if you used to play Alto’s Adventure, I would not call this a replacement. I am not saying you shouldn’t get this, you definitely still should, but there are things about Alto’s Adventure that have a lot of nostalgia that that this game can’t replace. But I still greatly recommend that you get it.

Beautiful and Immersive by Design yet Shockingly Simple

What a game! Been playing Alto’s Odyssey for over a year now and have loved every second of it. Very rarely do game devs create that is so visually intricate yet easy to learn and worth coming back to over and over again, yet Snowman has checked all the boxes. It’s a nice game to play on long car rides or flights, as I’ve found it’s a great escape from the real world as you are hooked by the serene soundtrack and stunning scenery. As I’ve played Odyssey I’ve come to appreciate the constantly changing weather patterns and daylight cycles that can even affect how well I perform. Though it’s a 5-star game in my books, one suggestion I have is to remove the character Sumatra entirely or replace her with another character that has his/her own unique attribute. Once you’ve unlocked Sumatra the game becomes very easy, and personally I enjoy the challenges presented with each character (Paz’s extremely slow backflips but great momentum, Maya’s low momentum but swift backflips, etc). In addition to this, the challenges could be altered so some are more specific to certain characters, and thus create incentives to use each of them.
