Skyship Quest Story is a sort of reimagining of a similar game, High Sea Saga. While High Sea Saga has more individual features, Skyship Quest Story is incredibly polished, and is my favorite of the two. Real-time waiting mechanics were removed, quest summaries are much faster, islands are more memorable, crew members are faster to level and master jobs, and the feeling is more whimsical. Most of the extra features in HSS were fun to have, but not essential to the overall experience.

Rinse and repeat

I honestly love Kairosoft and all their games but as noted by many others, these “new games” that are costing more than ever, is a rinse and repeat of older models. While it is less clunky with more options and a smooth gameplay, the whole thing can get repetitive and tedious fast. I wish they would think outside of the box and bring in other professions, preferably away from the sky/pirate theme because they have overdone it so many times. I loved the homely aspect of the dream house and hope they release some more of relatable options such as a vet, military, doctor, etc. I do not aspire to take over the sky, please stop releasing more.

Insta buy

I’ll still insta buy kairosoft games but haunt actually played through it: I ended up disappointed. Theres not a lot to the game. Yes, kairosoft games are light games, they always tend to give you new stuff, new combos not necessarily new mechanics but what you’re doing feels bigger, larger. There’s always something to look forward to. Here, once you do your first island, you’ve done them all. You get new weapons but a sword is a sword. A club is a club. In ninja village, you kept receiving new types of weapons, new equipment, new pets, new heroes, all the way to the end. Not here. Not really.

Missing simplified Chinese characters

I was playing this game fine in simplified Chinese, then all of a sudden random characters are missing in the game, phrases and sentences are not complete and totally unreadable. I noticed other people also had this issue. And I can’t redownload the game because it means I’m going to lose all my progress. Please fix this.

Their first game without an end time date! But also invariably different from the rest, still nicely fun (management + "sending in your teams to autobattle"; a lot of the content is unlocked by progress, though I'm still confused why we'd have to pay in-game currency to rename our characters). It's lightweight to use, though I do wish there would be QoL design in how management works.

This is an amazing game that succeeds the game I familiar with High Seas Saga. This game Skyship Quest Story is the ship game but with the skies as you explore the skies and exploring all sky islands with it. Compare to HSS it has improved gameplay mechanics, much more quality of life things, and you can already setup a three-man squad at Day 1 which is a blessing in disguise. So if you want for new challenge, try this game and you will love it every single day.

Simplified Chinese characters are missing in the game

I am an invincible fan of KAIRO Games, but I recently found that for some reason, almost all games lack Chinese characters after they are opened. One or two Chinese characters are missing in the sentence or word. However, there are no missing characters in traditional Chinese, and there are no missing characters either in English. I hope game developers can update the Chinese language.🥺 Or reply to me, how to use Simplified Chinese to play. I have bought all the games you have made, and I am really your biggest fan! Please!! （I searched online! Downloading the official Chinese version of Apple can solve this problem! Thank you）

I give all non-freemium games 5 stars, and usually it's easy to do that with Kairosoft games because they're fantastic. This one, however, I'm a bit frustrated with. There's literally not enough room on my ship for me to continue progressing. As far as I can tell you unlock ship expansions by building, but I'm out of room to build unless I block paths. Also it's just kind of passive, it plays itself, I don't have much input into what happens.

Another fantastic little RPG from Kairosoft. I've seen this game criticised for being too similar to High Sea Saga, but, for me, this game is a huge improvement as it has no F2P barriers that would usually ruin my enjoyment. I love managing the equipment of my team and building facilities on the varied islands and my airship. It's also fun tapping on the various NPCs and receiving quests to complete. Music and graphics are also superb. This game hits all the right notes for me. I love it!

a bit disappointing…

Always royal kairo fans, even though the comments seems not well I still tried it. Just like others said, they had pirate version before, highly similar…I mean I like those animal characters in the fighting…but this is a little going nuts. Last time I check u r not a idle game company, even pirate game sucks(yes I don’t like the gaming experience) but it’s better than this. It’s so empty that when the character playing the fighting animation, I have nothing to do. And worst, I can’t speed up. Not a fan. I know u said I have to wait for the first time pass though, but I hate that I only can steer even when I’m in idle game. I’m ok if u need to run(gain) sth when I close the app, but if u need me to watch ur app, make me busy:) I wish next game is better. I’m gonna cool down the heat a bit for a while…

Best Kairisoft game to date in my opinion. I love the variety of combinations, the idle aspects, and classic adventure / rpg components. I have enjoyed all the sim games and wasn't sure how I would feel about this one. Don't regret buying it at all and can play it several times over without getting bored.

thought was same as high seas.. it kunda is. but isnt... it IS a lot of fun. And not as grindy as high seas was. Feels lot better. edit dropping to 2 stars as having to fight to get people in correct order in battle is a pain. i have to keep resetting positions often and is making me dislike game. just lost last 3 battles before realisimg it had changed lineup again!

I'll start off by saying that I adore Kairosoft and a majority of their games. This one is ok. It doesn't quite have the heart previous games did and a bit repetitive. I definitely played it all the way through, but it wasn't a fully enjoyable experience.

This game is like a sequel to High Sea Saga, yet forgets what made the original so fun. Cut features, such as monster companions (a monster mentions joining your crew but can't actually). Points to change classes and exp is a constant grind that makes it feel more like a stealth idle game. Boss battles are no longer dynamic. It soon becomes a chore with little to no reason to see it through to the end. It is a disappointing sequel that falls flat in the face of its inspiration.

To Help Those Decide

If you’re wondering if this game is worth buying it or not, as a kairosoft fan, I’ll help you with your decision. Because I see the reviews are kind of split saying it’s a reskin of their pirate game and it worried me when I got it. Essentially kairosoft made a series of freemium games that had lots of inapp that didn’t do well. Then they release the DX version of those games with it being paid. The problem was since they were designed to be a freemium game there was still gacha and stamina and etc. This game is what that pirate game would’ve been if it was never a freemium. So think of this as the game that we wanted before they tried freemium. So if you played the freemium or the DX version. This may or may not be worth it for you. If you skipped them, def worth it. To me I like it because I wanted to play those games. So I hope they fix all their freemium games like this!

Really good remake but unsatisfactory standalone

Skyship quest story is an amazing remake of one of my most beloved kairosoft games. That’s about it. It is not by any means a game made to be charged for this much money or made into its own separate title away from HSS, it would be better if they charged us a little amount of money for a HSS remake than reskin it and count it as a “new” game.

I typically have an affinity for kairsoft games that include combat, so take that as you will. overall solid game, however- although no kariosoft game could possibly be considered "hard" this game in particular is incredibly easy. there's almost no choice you could make that would make progressing difficult. despite that, enjoyable experience and worth the price 100%

Out of ideas

I love these games and own them all but these new games are really just remakes of old ones. You need new ideas: like a pet shop with vet services and cleaning services or a hospital…a car sales lot..anything but repeats of older games slightly shifted into new ones. It’s starting to not be worth the Money spent. Besides the fat that we wait MONTHS before you guys come out with a new one and it becomes disappointing when it’s similar to older games.

For myself I love this one!

I quite enjoyed this one over the recent dungeon game, it's simpler, easier less chaotic, just over all easier, you go island to island clearing monsters building your ship, doing quests a lot of stuff is watching. You upgrade your crews, choose there weapons I've only started I'm leveling up to get to the 27 level monster that's guarding area 3. I am loving this one.

As big as the sky itself

This is big and ambitious for kairosoft. The shifting placement of spaces in your cargo is fun. Combined with enough carpenters you can have a rapid response team changing all of your know how buildings from one into each other. Stuff like that gets in you head when you’re not playing.
