From 5 stars to 1. I have played this game daily since 2013. Recent changes have made it ridiculous to play. Instead of changing the gameplay, why not just make a completely different game...you could then keep your loyal customers. I will no longer be spending money on this and rarely play it. Who is stilling paying for these in app purchases?? I stopped paying a bit ago because I would make a purchase, get double charged, but only receive one purchase worth of items. When “Reporting a Problem” I would jump through all the hoops to get refunded & have it denied, then appeal & get denied again, call Barclays (useless) out another $30+. So I stopped buying & immediately realized it’s almost, almost impossible to pass levels without purchasing gold etc. I started winning a little bit & as of yesterday I had saved up 140 pieces of gold. Today I opened my game & I only have 12 pieces?!? Husband & I are empty nesters, so no, children didn’t use it & hubby doesn’t even know how to open my iPad. Would this company’s “awesome” (sarcasm!) customer service like to explain this?? Fun game that is a total scam!!

I regret this new update and I realize the difference. I have been playing for DECADES and I miss several items the original pieces had before. I’ve played Candy Crush for years. It used to be my go-to game because it was simple, relaxing, and still required enough strategy to keep it interesting. Unfortunately, over time it has started to feel less like a puzzle game and more like a game designed to push you into spending money. I understand difficult levels. What I don’t understand are levels where the objective compared to the number of moves given feels practically impossible unless you use boosters or buy additional moves. Difficulty also doesn’t seem to progress logically. A much earlier level can suddenly be dramatically harder than levels hundreds of stages later, which makes the difficulty feel manufactured rather than part of a natural progression. What frustrates me even more is how unpredictable some of the mechanics have become. For example, fish will sometimes ignore an obvious target needed to complete the level and instead hit something completely irrelevant, or even interfere with a combination or strategy I was setting up. At that point, it stops feeling like my decisions determine whether I win. I’ve also noticed that once you start spending money, it seems like you are constantly being put in situations where you need to spend again. When passing one level can come down to buying gold bars just to get the extra moves necessary to finish it, the game stops being fun. After years of playing, I’m uninstalling it. I don’t mind paying occasionally for a game I enjoy, but I don’t want to feel like paying has become practically necessary just to continue playing. Candy Crush used to be relaxing. Now it is frustrating enough that it has made me dislike a game I genuinely enjoyed for years. One star because a game should make me want to play another level, not make me feel like I need to pull out my credit card to finish one.

I’ve been playing this for years, and gotten very far. So many of the levels for a while now are just about impossible to beat, now, without buying the extra powers or enough “coins” to continue a level after you’ve used up all the moves. Just to advance in this game, you need to spend a LOT, or have infinite patience and keep playing a level over and over until the layout randomly changes to a very lucky one. Almost everything the game used to provide you with to help with (overly) difficult levels gets modified to make it less useful. Like, they used to give you more and more turns to play each time you lost a level - you’d still have to use coins (which are rarely attainable unless you pay real money) to use all the extra moves - but now, instead, is a “random” wheel after each lost that gives you only a few extra moves, and they do not accumulate. As for the “random” gifts still in the game, I could be wrong, but they seem to be calibrated to give lousy gifts way more often - the “random” layouts at the start of the each level likewise seem to form more difficult patterns than easier ones. I’m tired of having to pay to play this game after all this time. I’ve quit for a while before, but I am truly thinking of erasing this from my phone for good. The impossible levels are not so fun after a few dozen tries, and I don’t want to keep throwing away three to five dollars just to get thru each one.

What’s the point of playing when they don’t give you keys or black squares to blast when you need it? You can almost complete levels except maybe 1 or 2 keys or stones, black squares but they don’t drop them in the game, so you play the same damn level way too many times for no chance of beating it.

I began playing when it was first released. And it was fun, and it included a secret level, the puzzles were different and the most important thing was I don’t recall needing to buy anything. Fast forward to the present where it’s become all about the coin. Once you reach the higher levels you will more often than not have to pay to win. I’ve quit for as long as a year and then gone back. I’ve started over twice. Biggest disappointment to date? When I reached the 20000th level I thought there would be a big hullabaloo, NOT! You get a banner for your avatar and one each of the in-game boosters! Wow. I’m out of here, again. Wish a developer would bring back the original game or something like it.

Yikes. Have played this game for years now, but have stopped playing until they fix and remove (or give the option to turn off) those new flashing backgrounds when someone makes a good move. The quick flash isn’t good for anyone and could easily set off a seizure in someone with epilepsy — solidly headache and migraine-inducing for others. Please fix this.

Nooooo! What is it with those flashy new animated backgrounds? They started appearing in my games a few days ago. They are totally distracting, and that may be why they are there-to break your concentration and slow down game play. Been playing this for 10 years but that new trick may send me packing. I stopped playing after 12000 levels and spending more than $500 and uninstalled. Now the ads are very invasive and intruding and persistent to the extent I have to look at it for a min 60 secs before I get to next step. These are games that push you to addiction and do not allow you to get out of it easily. This persistent targeted intrusive ads should stop and I think Google also is part responsible for this.

I have completed more than 275 levels in Candy Crush, but now whenever I reopen the game to continue playing, it always starts from Level 1. If I quit that level, one of my lives gets deducted, and even after that, the game still shows Level 1. It used to be a cool game 10 years ago, right now very aggressive with time clicking ( it’s like going to work) and repeating episodes. Very hard episodes. I used to love it. Now I want to quit. It’s make me nervous.it’s not cool anymore.

I have played 18,000+ levels and then stopped playing. I recently returned and remembered why I quit. The app has glitched out 2 times in the last two day to end streaks and negate use of boosters. Extremely annoying and enough to make this long time user stop playing.

This app says it’s connected to my Facebook account, but when I hit play, it reverts me to level 1. It happened 6 times in a row in the matter of a couple minutes. It’s been happening for days now. I don’t know how else to get it to connect with my saved game. Unbelievable.
