Caves of Lore

Some of the best writing I've seen in a game. Original comedy in the random guards' dialogue, and even some serious life wisdom in the collectible spell books. Easy mode was perfectly paced for this casual who didn't want to optimize builds.

I really enjoyed this game. I was never super into old school RPGs and especially turn based combat but this game really drew me in to the story and the exploration was a lot of fun. Definitely worth the pocket change it costs and I can't wait to play the next one.

A fabolous old school vibes kind of game. Lot of content. Good writing and a superb system of leveling up. Highly recommend using at least some spells. At least on some of the characters. Compared to crappy games for 10+$. This is well worth the money.

This game is a true gem. Caves of lore is a turn based pixilated RPG with a good story. There are actually books in the game that you can read and discover secrets. The combat mechanics are clear enough and have increasing layers of complexity that you can develop. The main story takes 30-60 hrs to complete. For completionists there is an optional crafting system, and a rogue lite random loot system with several key unique plot items to guide the story. I hope the game gets a chapter 2.

Love this game, nice visuals/gameplay, plenty of mechanics to discover, and plenty of ways to build your characters. The lore is pretty good too, makes you want to listen to the story (though, as with most games, dialogues can get pretty long)

such an awesome game. I highly recommend has a nice learning curve . The monsters are really good and I'm constantly asking myself what is this abomination in front of me. character build up, stats, spells , lore, .monsters , companions , decent maps. and great story line.

I wanted to give this game 5 out of 5 stars so much. The 1st part of game is so much fun and old school pool of radiance gold box game style gaming. But then you get towards the end and it's camping sleeping and waiting for the right moons alignment and it's frustrating because everything's a secret door! From about the late stage quest on Everything is about having your fairy in the party the weakest character & sleeping to a particular moon.. Frustrating and not fun Sorry

Enjoyable albeit log heavy and CPU heavy game for what it is. Combat is a little repetitive with clear meta skills and classes, but it's still fun to discover new items and spells to collect. Inventory and spell management is rather cumbersome though. I like the quick spell out of combat, but wish it would remember more than the last (magic vision + heal). Also, the game doesn't save to your gdrive so no cloud save.

Buy it. It rivals Balatro and Slay the spire in it's own genre! One of the best games that I've played in my life... and it's a mobile game?! You mean that I can min/max stats and abilities, form a team with uniques characters, follow a story who has quite the lore (get it? caves of 'lore') mine, collect resources, do quests, explore... and all of this with a sprinkle of fights with LOADS of different enemies and monsters? And you mean to tell me that EACH fight is gonna be different? ...Yes.

Caves of lore is an awesome, crunchy rpg with some strong Baldur's Gate style party building, tons of hidden secrets and unsurprisingly, lore! There's a lot of love out into this and it shows. The fact that this is made and maintained by one guy makes this extra impressive. The storyline is decently engaging without giving away too much at first. The combat is grid based and tactical yet still feels like it flows at a good pace. All in all well worth your time and money!

Top tier game on the appstore. Everything an RPG and Fantasy fan could want in a mobile game. No pay to win garbage, no microtransations, just pure videogame goodness. My ONLY complaint so far is I wish the hitboxes for the map was a bit expanded. Not being able to walk up right next to some objects or walls is a bit annoying, but that complaint is completely engulfed in the shadow of an epic experience. So far this game is nothing short of a masterpiece. And apparently developed by one dude.

Absolutely amazing game. Sent me back to the 90s style rpgs. Amazingly well done, it's obvious that whoever made this actually plays and likes games like this. All the little details from the ease of use of the UI, awesome storyline, well thought out spells, and abilities. (Note for Developer: Stun locking is little OP. Warrior and mage combo can be pretty fierce when you have 3 of each and both are focused on stuns.) I would put this game on the same shelf as Baldurs Gate 2, Well done!

Fun game, but I have frequent softlocks in battle. The serpeant things in the water that burrow are repeatedly an issue. And now after digging up a book during a boss fight where enemies sre summoned.

best game I've played on mobile in a long time. solo dev, too? wild. if you like turn based DND style rpgs with secrets, exploration, lore to learn, and minmaxing stats and equipment, you'll want to give this one a go. I'd seen it around but slept on it for quite a while because the price is higher than I've paid for a game on my phone, but it's well worth it if you like the genre. Great work dev, I love your game:D I'll be looking out for any future projects (or updates to this one wink wink)
