The app is pretty good and functional. Although it is missing a few simple but key features. Update after some months of use: Guess the move mode automatically plays out the move. This works for opening files but for tactics files, it makes it unusable. No option to not display the arrows already part of the pgn. I can live with this

Hii can you add a audio in 'guess the move' where I want to practice a pgn in board and opponent move (with variation) can be communicated through audio and my move can also be input through audio. Similar to blindfold 🙏. Please 🙏 Re: Please make audio at least it can read a pgn.

I can't see the games when I tried to search the players in the Chess PGN Master. I searched the names of the players but nothing appears. I tried magnus but there is no data. Could I email my concern to you so I can also show screenshots of the issue.

I'm pretty sure I reviewed this app before, but I couldn't find it. Still 5 star and thank you for implementing my feature request for leaving variations. It's perfect. I have one more feature request... An optional button bar with quick annotations, that is for move symbols (!, ?, etc) and evaluations (+-, +=, etc).

It's a very good app, I am facing one problem now, till date the app used to show variations list allowing me to choose which variation I want to enter, today it is not showing the variation list and directly moving to the mainline, I have made the variations threshold as 8 but still it is not showing variations list, is there another setting or anything else so that I can get the variations list again. If there is a setting please tell me where it is present.

I had a situation with this app these past two days. It left me disgruntled and made me lower my rating. The developer reached out to me within a few hours and made a suggestion. The app is back to normal, working perfectly, and fit for purpose. Kudos, not so much for solving the problem (which I super appreciate,) but more importantly to me, the super fast response. Not enough lines of analysis Lines of analysis means the engine only calculates and shows the best move and a single line. But there could be 4 good potential moves but the 3 aren't shown. Just because a move is second or 3rd best doesn't mean it's a bad move or losing against best play. Say it's a middle game They can have different valuations like +1.25 for e4 and +0.75 for b4 or +0.34 for c4. I may prefer the option of b4 because of my style, or it's more creative. It gives more options.

Really great app which does everything you could need to record/analyse chess games. The one critique I have is deleting variations can be slightly clunky and I've lost a bunch of annotations a couple of times when trying to delete certain variations/moves. Could a save button be added to the main page so we don't have to keep going into the menu and saving (which acts more like a save as function)? Edit 8/23: It would also be great if there were an option to strip out arrows/highlights.

Garbles commentary. I downloaded and paid for Chess PGN master because of random crashes with Chessbase Android. With Chessbase 17, I created a PGN of 10,862 games with the ECO filter A57-A59 (The Benko gambit) . This included Chessbase commentary symbols, specifically the symbols for queen side and counterplay. I uploaded this PGN to Google drive. Both Chessbase Android and Chess PGN master opened this large PGN correctly but Chess PGN master garbles the commentary with Asian characters.

I really like this app. It has all the features I need: add comments, as e variations, highlight squares and draw arrows to illustrate methods. Packed with really useful features. I would really like to see the move symbols popup over the pieces on the board and a blacked out theme for OLED devices. **** Gerhard, I also think putting a way to set the comments in annotation to any color would be helpful! ****

Awesome chess app, but how do you get the sandy colour background shown in the example? I mean can you give me the color codes you use for the sandy color where the notation is? It matches the board. I use dark mode myself sometimes so thats cool. I use ChessBase for editing and your app is nearly as good but considering that it is only $10 as opposed to several hundreds of dollars. The only thing you are missing is creating diagrams while ChessBase can't do blue arrows. You have a very good app

Needs different kinds of notation input, not just modern algebraic. Dark mode makes app font white on almost white background in menus. Needs a main page to display all pgn files from specified location, not just manual load pgn. It is easy to lose data input (create a temp file to restore if errors occur) App is awesome. Well done.

If you are looking for the best pgn viewer look no farther... this is it. I was using the chess viewer app from everyman chess until it stopped working after a Samsung tab update and they did nothing to fix it... but I could care less now that I have found this excellent viewer.
