Handcrafted Sudoku puzzles by the most popular Sudoku channel!
Presented by Cracking The Cryptic, the most popular Sudoku channel, this is the brand new “Classic Sudoku” game that their viewers have been requesting for the last two years! Simon Anthony and Mark Goodliffe, the hosts of Cracking The Cryptic, have assembled a most extraordinary collection of sudoku puzzles. The sudokus in the game cover a wide range of difficulty with something for everyone - and also require an incredible range of techniques to solve them efficiently! Each of these special puzzles had to qualify for inclusion in the game by passing our rigorous play-testing - a test that NO other sudoku game on the market would pass. This play-testing ensures that a human being has actually thought about the journey you, the solver, will go on as you work through the puzzle. No computer testing here! Indeed our more advanced puzzles have been carefully designed to showcase some of the diabolical techniques in an intuitive way with the aim of helping solvers UNDERSTAND the patterns involved. In Cracking The Cryptic’s games, players start with zero stars and earn stars by solving puzzles. The more puzzles you solve, the more stars you earn and the more puzzles you get to play. Only the most dedicated (and cleverest) sudoku players will finish all the puzzles! Featured authors include (obviously) Simon and Mark but also some other authors who have produced popular puzzles on the channel! Mark and Simon have both represented the UK many times in the World Sudoku Championship and you can find more of their puzzles (and lots of others) on the internet’s biggest sudoku channel, Cracking The Cryptic. Features: 40 beautiful puzzles on launch 5 new levels every month for the first year (a total of 100 levels!) Hints written by Mark and Simon!

Doesn't render the note numbers in the correct parts of each box, on the Galaxy S26 plus. Used to work on the S23
- Dimitri Stamatis · v2.3.1
too many ads
- Patrick van Zyl · v2.3.1
best suduko but the sync doesn't work properly, I get more completed sudukos when copy over the code to another phone, then I have actually completed, and some I had completed shows as not completed. I did copy the code from my other phone and sent it to myself, so the code is correct, I've also checked it afterwards, and tried it multiple times, I left getting the same result.
- Lasse · v2.3.1
Great app. Loved the difficulty variety of the sudokus. The tools given to solve them are great and make is easy to track all of your pencil marks and notes you need to solve. I just wish there were more than 100 puzzles as now I don't have anymore to solve.
- Steven Wiberg · v2.3.0
Would love a feature for an option to fill in all candidates
- Dani Milli · v2.3.0
Handmade puzzles with good hint mechanics as well as the most versatile notation system I've seen on any sudoku app. It allows for center and corner notes but also noting numbers that do not go in the cell. in addition, you can color any squares, which helps when looking for patterns.
- Sonja · v2.3.0
Love the loaded games. But using the interface is NOT intuitive. Example: I turn on coloring the squares and fumble my way to actually coloring some of them. Hooray, right? Wrong. I swear there is absolutely no way to switch back out of coloring the squares! I've tried everything available on the interface, but no dice! WTH? And just you try to find any kind of tutorial on how to navigate this app. Hello? Instructions anyone? I really want to be able to use this thing but can't get help!
- Michael Peterson · v2.3.0
The best classic sudoku app that I have used. I like the highlighting of both numbered and noted cells, the ability to enter notes in multiple cells and ability to use centre and corner notes. Plus some quite tricky puzzles.
- Nigel Lim · v2.3.0
The latest update broke drag to select multiple squares. Also, the sudoku list flashes and does not load on Pixel 10 Pro XL when the display is set to Standard Resolution. It does show properly when set to Max Resolution.
- AJ Klein · v2.3.0
Whoa, what did you do with that August 25 update? This is much worse. Numbers in the corner notation look weird and unpredictable this way, and it's no longer possible to select cells by sliding your finger off the board and on in another position, making it harder to select all the cells not seen by existing placed numbers. Please reconsider :( edit: taking off another star, it completely throws off the flow of my game, taking away my "comfort food" game on my phone. why fix what wasn't broken.
- Pepijn · v2.3.0
genuinely fun and cryptic puzzles.
- Michiel Plas · v2.2.1
Best app for just plain sudoku. I'm happy to pay for an app if it's actually worth it. This is worth it, especially at such a reasonable price. Sadly, I finished all the puzzles, and the last update was 2023, so I doubt there will be more to come. Didn't stop me from putting in probably too many hours trying to solve all of the challenges. Would get 5 stars if there were more to complete.
- Reuben · v2.2.1
A good app, but I miss auto notes. I've played it for a couple of days and still find note entry and settings awkward
- John Berry · v2.2.1
How do I turn off the red borders on cells that have an incorrect digit entered?
- William Lee · v2.2.1
It's a really good apps. Please add more color options for the notes, cause now it's only red and black. Can you also please make it so we can play custom puzzle.
- Albert Octavianus Candi · v2.2.1
I've fallen asleep while solving, only to wake up to the phone being dangerously warm, with the screen still on. (And battery drained.) While I see the usefulness of the game keeping the screen on while you're solving, a 30 minute timer to lock the screen would be nice, and safe. Great puzzles with almost all hints being correct.
- Ørnulv Bjertnes · v2.2.1
It might be an issue on my end, but is there no sound in the app? There is no sound options in the settings menu and so far I can't hear any clicks or taps when I select something. Tbh it drives me crazy because I have to keep doublechecking everything I do, because there's no sound, no response to my selections.
- Tony Mase · v2.2.1
By far the best sudoku app for genuinely fun to solve sudoku puzzles
- Kasey Clark · v2.2.1
Brilliant!
- Hussam Shanti · v2.2.1
The app is great and the puzzles are amazing, but 4 stars for 2 reasons only: When entering a full number, there seems to be no option to auto-remove the same number from the notes in the other cells in that row/column. I think I might be missing something, but I wrote to support and never got an answer. So, if I get help or if the feature is made available, 5 stars it will be.
- Karen Czachorowski · v2.2.1
Wonderfully curated Sudoku puzzles.
- Nicholas Manor
After nearly a decade with enjoy sudoku, the app is a possible next replacement. Puzzles are awesome. Hints are so mysterious, functional but infuriating at times. UI could do with some additional polishing. Some features need more explanations, or more refined descriptions.
- Lokesh Dhakal · v2.2.1
Best sudoku app. Simple, user friendly, no ads. I wish there was a paid version just to help the developer.
- Julien Tremblay · v2.2.1
The ONLY sodoku app I have found that allows both corner notes and center notes. For that reason alone, it is the best Sudoku app on this platform. Because of that, I am begging the creators to allow us to enter puzzles from other apps. An amazing function would be to be able to take a picture of a puzzle and have it entered into their platform. But at the very least they should allow us to enter other puzzles onto their platform and work them. Thank you all so much for such an amazing app.
- DGS DGS · v2.2.1
Excellent, I've learnt so much from this app.
- Phil Smith · v2.2.1
Love it, good puzzles. But mostly love being able to use the corner for Snyder notations.
- Brandon Keating · v2.2.1
Finished all the puzzles, fantastic game!
- Jared Harder · v2.2.1
Best sudoku app I've been able to find on the play store so far. The puzzles themselves are great + the UI is amazing. The app contains a ton of useful features for marking and notes that are easy to find and use (minimal navigation required to switch back and forth between number entry and the numerous different notes / marking options). The color palette can be customized. I really like how when you tap on a numbered cell the UI highlights the rows, columns, and other instances of that number.
- Lizzie Gillis · v2.2.1
Much better than computer generated puzzles, pity I've now finished all the puzzles twice.
- Sam B · v2.2.1
I've played a lot of sudoku apps, yet always come back to this app to replay these. The UI is such a pleasure, and there are enough puzzles to go through that repeated play through are still fun (especially when trying to beat your times. nothing else comes close.
- Daniel Crisp · v2.2.1
I just finished puzzle #100. This is by far the best Sudoku app I've played. I didn't think I would notice a difference between hand crafted and computer generated puzzles, but after playing many different Sudoku apps I've found that this set of hand crafted puzzles are more fun, more challenging, and are also helpful with learning new techniques. I didn't really know how to solve harder Sudoku puzzles before this app. Now I've just completed puzzle #100 without hints.
- Michael Buck · v2.2.1
Great app. Worth paying for to support the creators, not have ads, and ensure my data isn't shared with third parties. I wish there were more than 100 puzzles though.
- Scott Fisher · v2.2.1
This is the best sudoku app ive played. So much so that i was a little sad when i finished all the puzzles. Aside from adding more puzzles, to add replay value, maybe adding a stat screen or bar for average time taken to solve puzzles, or a hi-score leaderboard type screen to see the top times on a puzzle.. or maybe even indicating in some way which puzzles/solve times a hint was used. Great app, keep up the great work
- Carlos Aguero · v2.2.1
Of the Sudoku games I have tried this has far the best user interface. I love the fact that you can use two different pencil marks, for example. Docked one star because it doesn't seem to remember the last game you played so if you come back to it after closing the app or it updating you have to remember where you were. It would be nice to be able to add new games but not essential. With the number included I don't remember all of them if I go back to the beginning.
- Keith Collyer · v2.2.1
Amazing logic puzzles masterfully crafted
- Joshua Randall · v2.2.1
Best sudoku app around. It's features are rich, the interface is smooth, the puzzles are challenging and fun. They don't feel generic at all. You can feel the passion in the app. It's the best sudoku experience I can imagine.
- Andrew R · v2.2
the best!
- Cassandra Schildknecht · v2.2
Great app, nice UI. Just a shame there aren't more puzzles available!
- Dan Mulholland · v2.2
Some puzzles can't be solved by pure logic without bruteforsing numbers and see if it broke puzzle later
- Kliff · v2.2
restart my phone and it deleted all of my progress and previously finished levels. It now acts like I just freshly installed it
- Milo Clarke
Excellent app for improving your skills. I love this sudoku app, excellent controls and 100 curated puzzles. Two marking schemes are now essential features for me. I've done them all now and some multiple times. The tips help as you get stuck then look for the techniques in other puzzles. Only missing feature is the opportunity to buy more curated puzzles. I would love an expansion pack.
- Iain Hull · v2.2
Great app, until the most recent update "improved" the user interface. I can't figure out how to turn off automatic error checking. I want to play without that safety net and it's no longer in the settings.
- Nathan Wahlgren · v2.2
The new UI is terrible. Now all the numbers are tiny and there is wasted space on the screen meaning I keep missing the buttons. There are also icons and buttons with very unclear meaning. Much prefer the older UI!
- adrian51gray · v2.2
The recent ui change is awful. Years of muscle memory down the drain. What were they thinking?
- Peter Jurgens · v2.2
Great app and I have played through all the puzzles multiple times, but I do not like the new UI. I understand making the number buttons larger, but the layout is a bit confusing
- Mike Bilbee · v2.2
The reason for the three stars is not because of the gameplay but because of the change of u.i. after the latest update. Would like to see an option to select old and new u.i
- Charlotte Webb · v2.2
The new layout is horrible. Also, try to install a cloud save option which also saves the time, not only the progress.
- Freddy Kabuffke · v2.2
The newest UI update makes everything less easy to access. The added functionality is nice but the difference in usability is jarring.
- Christopher Hines · v2.2
Persistent crashing after a device update. Please fix!
- Henrik Rydgård · v2.1
Love this app. The puzzles are more challenging than average sudoku app with no ads!
- Lorraine Blackman · v2.1
