Keeps me coming back

I’ve stepped away from this game several times, but I always come back. It can be so frustrating but so satisfying to hit those lucky once in a lifetime shots that go in. Better to be lucky than good at this game, but sometimes when you are good the luck follows. 5 stars!

Less fun than in the past

When this game was new it was a blast. They’ve since then removed a few PDGA courses from gameplay. Also, when you change phones you lose your entire progress and disc selection. Starting over and getting back to where you were sounds neat, but bags were larger a few years ago and when you have to redo everything it just loses its appeal and becomes frustrating. Also, now there are constant ads. Seriously. This game used to bring me joy and now I’m just so agitated when I play it. You screwed this game up.

Paid for no ads and still has ads

I paid for the monthly subscription to get rid of all the ads and yet after every match I play there are still ads needless to say I canceled that 10 dollar a month scam and uninstalled the game. I would’ve bought their PC game as well but at this point I’m pretty sure I would just be paying a one time price for ads instead of a subscription.

Great game but annoying when you switch phones.

Been playing the game since it released, my only gripe is when you switch phones, 9 times out of 10 you have to start over. 🤬😡 plus customer service never gets back to you when you email them.

Don't play!!!!

UPDATE: immediately following my 1 star review, my account seems to have been placed in a bad state. Usually a pro tier player and have not been able to win a single match out of the 17 I've played since my review. I'm getting the craziest bounces and deflections I've never seen before, put OB or in water due to wild rolls and deflections, and worst of all, while putting, getting (hitting leaves) animations many times when there is no free or bush even close to me, forcing a missed shot. DO NOT DOWNLOAD. Online matches are fixed and there are too many cheaters. Devs rarely fix any issues and the same ones have plagued the game for years. The discs/wind/how discs fly is the most inconsistent, not too mention you'll probably have to spend money if you want any decent discs. Don't waste your time here!

bad ad practices

This is a very fun disc golf game, but they really need to rethink how they display ads. there is no way to close ads. every time i get an ad i have to force close the game to make it go away. i get that they have to show ads to make money, but not being able to close them really ruins the experience for me. would be 5/5 otherwise.

Overly intrusive adds

The game itself is not to bad. But the adds are infuriating. You’ll spend more time trying to get out of the adds than actually playing. Most adds require multiple time delayed interactions before you are allowed to get back to the game 90 seconds of more later. Some adds like KingShot never return you to the game forcing you to terminate and reopen game to proceed.

Almost great

The game is really really fun, a way to enjoy the sport we all love when we can’t throw for real. My only problem with this game is the physics aren’t exactly realistic. “It’s a game it’s not supposed to be blah blah blah….” The fact of the matter is, it’s turned into a cash grab from when the game was first released. With all the money gained from players the least that can be done is fix a disc sliding 50ft on grass. I’m not sure what courses the devs are playing but man I’ve never seen a disc do that on grass, hard dirt sure, ice? Sure. Lots of compacted leaves? Sure. Literal grass????

don't even download it. everything is an in app purchase for dollars not game coins earned. there is no way you'll progress without buying things because the app has nothing to do. you might not even know what the games goal is. i don't. just don't do it, pass on this game.

Update Losses Disc From Rewards

I tried to do a re-roll on a reward desk at level eight and the game froze and when I logged back in and it took away the reward and did not allow me to pick it for level eight now it shorted me this kind of sad. It’s already hard enough to come by this game specially drivers. I’ve been stuck with the same 10 speed for ever.

Great gameplay, poor progression and earning pacing

This game is fantastic, has great visuals and physics. My one main gripe is the progression feels overly tedious and lacks engagement. The rewards for completing a round or challenge is lack luster and coins are hard to come by and earn. They aren’t used for much but when you want to upgrade your bags it gets incredibly expensive, even worse when you get an upgraded bag it doesn’t have more slots open just more to buy. Mainly it try’s to pull you to its paid for mechanics but even then it’s pretty lack luster and non motivating. It would be nice to be able to trade multiple copies of a disc for an upgraded one

Where to even begin. The mechanics and gameplay are terrible. Sometimes when you put hyzer or anhyzer on it just decides surely you decided to throw it 500 yards the opposite direction. Oh you landed in landscaping? Surely you meant for it to bounce off of it and go 30 yards past into the water… come on now…

Needs Update to fix bugs

Great game, though it is in dire need of an update to fix problems. As of the last two weeks, the app crashes about every 3rd round. Sometimes in the middle of a round, which will randomly add a stroke to your score once reconnected.

A Shell of What It Once Was

I played DGV for a couple years and loved it until the devs sold out. I stopped when they introduced in-game ads which, inexplicably, coincided with bugs that made the game unplayable. I’m leaving this review a year or so later and am still disappointed in the obvious money grab. Way to stick to your roots…

Great game, but…

Whatever they did with the most recent “update”, the game keeps crashing at random. I can’t even get through a Daily Challenge, much less tournament play or Events. Contacted “Customer Service” - excuse me while I die laughing… was told “thanks for the feedback, don’t expect any changes, enjoy the game”.

Unruly physics

Every shot in multiplayer anymore is nerfed in someway to travel only half as far or twice as far just to go OB or get some ridiculous reaction. I just aimed a shot into the ground and got no less than twelve air lifts to carry the disc long and into hazard and it has been doing this for weeks. Never in the daily challenge. The programming sucks or hackers are messing with other people’s physics

Must Force Close Every Round

The game itself if fine, but after each round you must watch an unskippable ad for another game, many of which never end and you can’t close the ad so you have to force close the game. You can’t pay $5 to remove ads…. Or…. You can just uninstall. If the devs add a timer on ads that allows them to be closed I might play again.

No profile credit

I played this game until a few years ago. It was fun, a lot to like. I spent hundreds of dollars no worries. When I decided I wanted to start from scratch with a new profile there weren’t credits available from my previous profile. That’s a deal breaker for me. If you erase your old profile you should be able to use that money to build your new profile

Good game but…

Way too many adds. I don’t mind most ads but these are the type that after you watch the ad you still have to wait another 30 seconds and then it wants to open the app store. Some ads are up to a minute long. It slows the game play down so much it is debatable if it is worth having this game. If you have time to kill and don’t mind rhythm being interrupted, this might be for you. If you are looking for a game to fill small gaps in your time 5 minutes or less, this is not for you. Also too many updates to fix shoddy programming. Seems like they use AI to do programming, release it, then have to go back and fix a bunch of stuff.

Ads are obnoxious

The pop up ads are always a frustrating puzzle to exit. I’ve had a few I couldn’t figure out and had to close the game. Also the game sound seems to get muted after ads sometimes. I deleted it because of these issues, otherwise the game itself is fun.

Do I enjoy that we have a great mobile disc golf game? Absolutely. Do I support spending $7 every two months just to get the VIP pass? Hell no. No game out there, even console, is worth $45 a year. The owners of MVP are a bunch of crooks and it shows even in their game development. I should never have to spend that much money to access features on a MOBILE game. Tighten up. You’re taking advantage of people that don’t even pay that much to play a round of disc golf.

Rather go play in real life

Pretty lame. The skips and fades of the disc. Hate that I need to buy or grind to get quality discs. Kind of unrealistic that one can’t dissect a course with slow speed discs. AB is thrashing any pro course with a Luna. Hate that my 13 speed can’t go further than 100meters in a headwind but then a different hole I’ll over shoot a 150 meter hole with the same disc. Only bright thing I can say is this game has the opportunity to improve drastically.

Best Disc Golf Game Ever

If you listen to other people complain about this game it’s because they spend money on it. It’s the best free game on the App Store. There’s tons of discs. A bunch of courses. The daily challenges are fun. Multiplayer is great. And the pro tour is nice to establish your rating. Physics are funky sometimes but you have to remember, it’s a game!! Don’t get mad when you’re playing a game especially when it’s completely free. Download and enjoy hours of fun with a game that’s constantly being updated

Keeps me sane during the winter months.

I’ve never left a review before, that’s how much I enjoy this game. I love playing with frisbees I use in real life, and it helps me find new ones to throw. There’s a foot of snow on the ground and I can’t play outside, so this helps with the craving 😂
