I love my new game
- Andrew Fuller
The game will not work since the bug fix, it tells me there is a bug and to contact the app. Worked perfectly before :(
- Michael Farmen · v1.1.7
This is a perfect Turn based RPG if you could be called away from your phone at any time. It's truly turn based and won't penalise you in any way for getting distracted. On top of that its a great game. So far I like this and 11 alot more than any other RPG series. I'm a Dragon Quest fan now!
- M C · v1.1.6
game no longer works.
- Travis Birge · v1.1.6
I love the game would play it again if I didn't already beat it and the 2nd boss
- Adam Valdez
Disappointed with how poorly this is set up to be played on a phone. Use a tablet and a controller, and perhaps you'll have a better experience than I did.
- Jase Grills · v1.1.6
Funny its the definitive version of the game since the ds version overseas lacked party chat due to developers not having enough time to translate it. Unless you want to tinker with modding rom files, this is the best option for you to play the game. Really good game.
- Yoav Zehavy · v1.1.6
Horrible game. I spent 30 minutes getting to the first objective. i might have had 5 fight in total. then all of a sudden there's a huge difficulty spike. I thought I had done something wrong, or skipped something, but no. I looked up a walkthrough, and it said I should probably grind up to level 7, or 8. so 30 mins in, and I had to sit there and grind levels for almost an hour! I don't care that this is supposed to be a classic. that's just really bad design. earlier DQ's weren't like this.
- Aaron Johnson · v1.1.6
The game does not load properly. I just set up my tablet, so I requested a refund and got one. Then i went through my device and updated everything. I tried a second time, and the game still will not load properly. The touch features will not work, so all i can do is pull down the task bar and close it manually. Was denied a refund the second time, literally ten minutes after purchase.
- gilius ifrit · v1.1.6
why does quick save not work ?
- Derek Shephard · v1.1.6
My favorite series! Problem is, it breaks between uses, so every time I wish to start a new game, I have to reinstall it. Which sucks when google play is wonky.

Fun Factor: 9 Overall Score: 78% Letter Rating: A This game blew my expectations out of the water, feeling fresh and feeling like the inspiration for awesome games like Octopath Traveler and Final Fantasy XII. This game was easily the best game on the NES, and its remake made it into a much better game—a game that ranks among some of my favorite RPGs of all time. I'll never forget my experience with this game, playing it simultaneously with my brother and discovering all the secrets together.
- Brighton Nelson · v1.1.6
Loved it!
- Rant Casey · v1.1.5
Must get. This is a great game.
- Kyle Ashwood · v1.1.5
Beautiful remake, it would be the absolute best way to play thie game IF it had gamepad support.
- Pantagruelico · v1.1.5
An absolute classic of the ages when it comes to jRPGs.
- D J · v1.1.5
good game ; though I wish it had controller support
- Cclspeedrunner · v1.1.5
deleted my save before I could beat it 😢
- Edward Cebollero · v1.1.1
My Participation in the franchise had been a luxury to persuade how I'm home in art dedicated. thanks for the game to summarize
- Lee Black Flames · v1.1.5
this game was my favorite game on the NES back when I was a child, and it's still maintains its appeal. The updated pixel graphics and little extras like the puns and accents on the NPCs really make this game a joy to play. The only problem I see, and this is true of the NES version as well, is that I suddenly forgot about Necrosaro the moment I hit Endor. I'll get to him eventually; I've got a monster arena match to get to. (didn't screw this up for me, Moosifer!)
- Sage Eaton · v1.1.4
excellent game. runs great.
- Austin Headley · v1.1.4
Just wow
- Daniel Navarro
If you loved dragon warrior 4 for the story and dialog, prepare to be disappointed. Everyone's text has been massacred to terrible translations and poor attempts at accents. Even your beloved party members' names have been changed. they also nerfed the casino rewards.
- Justin W · v1.1.4
My all time favorite dragon quest game so i may be sorta partial in this five stars but hey if you dont have lots of free time then you dont wanna get hooked.! : )
- David Donnelly · v1.1.4
One of my favorite games, the only problem with it and DQ5 are that you can't always quicksave which means it's not ideal for short 5 minute game sessions. I get the idea behind not having it but they really should implement it on the mobile release to account for the fact that your pjone resets if you leave an app for to long, aside from that it's perfect and definitely worth the money
- Mikael Nevear · v1.1.4
It's an excellent port of a superb game. It runs at solid 30FPS, and it looks great on every modern device. The only thing I would like different is an option for horizontal play with gamepad support.
- Paweł Iwaniec · v1.1.4
Good game
- jason “Jay”
Good conversion but the second half of the game is very frustrating spending 80% of your time in random encounters which ruins the joy of adventuring.
- Joetje F · v1.1.4
I love this game and I've loved it since I was a child, but why was it necessary to change the graphics? I purchased it for nostalgia purposes and the only nostalgia now is the story, And a little bit of the music. offer a classic version and an updated version give us the choice. or I can just play the old version for free if I use an emulator how you doing
- Ghost Note SVG · v1.1.4
Is absolutely fantastic I was a super huge fan of the original an the dragon warrior/quest series it's what started me in to fantasy roleplaying games. Not final fantasy which is same company just not as well built
- David Dixon · v1.1.1
Older versions of the game secretly let Taloon, in Chapter 3, come to the store as a customer, after a customer sells a Cautery Sword (Sword of Malice), and buy it for himself. WHY would you, NM. IT STILLWORKS, TRY IT!!! Now, SE, please fix cloud saves. an old upload keeps replacing newer uploads, setting back everyone who plays on my tablet!
- Michael M · v1.1.4
Really good. You get what you pay for but this is a quality game and easily worth 15 bucks. Only thing is I wish I had a control pad instead of a virtual joystick. It's frustrating at times but besides that solid game man. Takes me back to the old days. DQ 5 is next once I finish this.
- Daniel Wheeler · v1.1.4
Outside of DQ VII this is the best game in the franchise
- Sean Kerrigan · v1.1.4
DQ4 is an amazing game and quite possibly my favorite of the main series, however this version is awful the graphics are terrible and could have been so much better if they botherd to make it HD theres no reason it had to look this terrible, and the horrible controls and lack of controller support make it even worse. Don't even bother trying to connect to your tv to play it cause its awful they could have easily made this game HD. I have it cause I in fact purchased DQ4 but i do not recommend it
- Kain Dariono · v1.1.4
The most boring turn based RPG I ever played. The final boss is way to difficult and unfair. Art is fine but the rest of the game is so generic and repetitive. Characters are stock and generic too. I have put 55 hours into the game 30 of them feeling like a waste of grinding that barley even feels noticeable.
- Walter Weir · v1.1.4
The first truly story based game in the Dragon Quest franchise. This is the first game in which your side characters are actually characters. Spoiler: Before developing your Hero you will spend time getting to know and develop your side characters. Dragon Quest 3 was great, but this game far exceeds everything Dragon Quest 3 previously achieved.
- Al Logan
This game is superb in so many ways. If you're a fan of these old NES JRPG games you can't miss with this one. I do have a couple of big complaints though. Number one you cannot turn the volume off. You can turn the volume down to 1 but you will always hear the music. Also you can only quick save on the world map and not in dungeons. When playing on a mobile this is unacceptable. This is a direct port of the Nintendo DS version and they really did not do anything extra for the mobile version.
- Sam Peterson · v1.1.4
What I remember from my youth. A fun but grindy old school jrpg.
- john doe · v1.1.4
Have to play it muted, or live with a sharp high pitched beeping constantly. Absolutely ridiculous!
- M Trexler · v1.1.4
Wish for more Dragon Quest games my favorite type
- LINDA · v1.1.4
Perfect classic RPG experience :D
- Jacob · v1.1.4
Very nice!
- Bruno Silva · v1.1.4
Controls great, game great. Don't know if why some reviews say can't turn the sound off because i could. Must have for any classic jrpg fan.
- Fil C · v1.1.4
Works great on my Fold4, has no issues or bugs.
- Jaques Dawkins · v1.1.4
Beautiful game in all aspects, visuals, story, music etc. Absolutely excellent experience. There's little need for any detailed explanations on this, you simply cannot go wrong with it.
- Kristian Watts · v1.1.3
Probably the best RPG for the NES. If you missed out on 1990, this is the next best way to play it. This RPG has fantastic art direction, monster design, story, and music and has great controls for people to experience this adventure. The Party Chat feature which was omitted from the DS release brings the characters to life and really builds on the narrative. Spectacular time and a great introduction to RPGs for non-fans. It's well-paced and consistently fun and memorable throughout.
- Jude Ford (Zappy) · v1.1.3
Good game and good port. There were no issues and played on a cheap smartphone.
- Daniel Watts
So I get the premise where by Dragon Warrior III you had a full compliment of characters just as a FF always did. And in this installment you are actually playing the story of each character joining rather than they are there from the beginning. Only I'm not too sure about the challenge offered. I very much hope there is a way larger scope offered as the Chapters are minimal so far. Unless I am missing anything in replay. Time will tell but that's where my interest lies at this point.
- Geoffrey · v1.1.3
My first RPG from the NES brought back to the DS and now on mobile with the previously missing Party Chat. Such a wonderful game.
- Zack Kirback
Game needs backbone support
- bill hack
No UI optimization for foldable devices.
- DogeFTW
One of the greatest JRPGs of all time, and the mobile version here is arguably the best way to pay it today outside of emulation.
- Ty Robertson · v1.1.3
