DRAGON QUEST Smash/Grow

I was really excited about a rogue type game for dragon quest. I absolutely love the series in all its flavors except this!!! Because the ads on this are more than a minute long to start with. And to stop the ads equals about $25 to $30 a month which is absolutely outrageous like Square Enix used to be one of my favorite companies, but now they are all predatory money grabbers. They don't care about the fans or the game, they just want your money. Would not recommend.

I absolutely adore this game and I can't get enough of it. I've played lots of mobile rpg's and this one is hands down my favorite. It's extremely fun, story is interesting, dialogue isn't too long, and grinding feels rewarding. I'd love to play this game forever <3

Do yourself a favor and do not get this game. It's so repetitive and boring. You have to run the same missions over and over. I haven't played it not using auto in over a month. there's nothing interesting or intuitive. its just trash.

Gameplay is significantly limited by gacha and p2w mechanics. Square is pushing their own store by giving extra bonuses for spending the same amount of money on there vs play store. Super expensive too. Not counting bonuses, $20 for x10 pull, 60 pulls to first pity that is only 3*. Game is designed to be a time sink and the current event had such unrealistic time expectations that they had to modify it half way through because it was unrealistic. Events have been buggy and barely playable too.

Mimicking the other people on here where the game becomes grindy with little rewards, pushing out players who do not/or cannot purchase anything in the game. events are time locked so if you are not levelled up enough or just don't do it well sucks to be you then. The storyline/gameplay becomes unreasonable pretty quickly around chapter 3 onwards, making it obvious they are pushing you to pay and it's scummy practice like other games. It's just another gacha like game just with DQ graphics

I am a big fan of DQ, and I've been playing this game for a bit, but recently I cannot even bring myself to run the app, it's way too grindy, it is almost impossible for one to reach lvl 50. The game is also not AFK friendly, you cannot skip most of the time, multiple dialogues and annoying system for item retrieval, it's so draining.

The game itself is fine. But content-wise, this is DQ TACT all over again; -new content released too rapidly, forcing players to either spend money or fall behind -all new content requires you to have the latest setup to be able to complete, again, forcing players to spend or fall behind Watch- one day, after they run out of ideas for new content (which will happen soon at this rate) they'll make this game unavailable to play/download in most countries. Just like with DQ TACT. It's too bad. 🫤

on paper, this is great. a Vampire Survivors clone with a Dragon Quest coat of paint. in reality, it turned into mobile slop. I was a day-1 player, did my dailies, and even bought a few passes. but the lack of meaningful updates, the abysmal drop rates for new and/or featured gear, the way-too-high difficulty for some levels, scarcity of supplies, etc., made me lose interest. I decided: this really isn't worth it. don't waste your time or money on this.

Not even half a year in from launch and the grind is so tiring. New levels just reuse assets from earlier levels. Gacha odds are some of the worst I've ever seen, and they ask 50% more of your money than the standard gacha prices. I'm bored of this game.

Stamina recovery is slow, drop rates very low and gacha rates are terrible without any guarantee for every 10 pulls. Even spending hundreds may not get you full set gear from gacha banner. It almost feel rigged to make you spend more. Power creep is real and your purchased gear last month may not give you a better time for events this month unless you get the latest weapon from gacha banner.

The gacha system in this game is implemented horrendously and you will likely never even slightly enjoy it if you are f2p. That being said, the core gameplay itself is pretty fun and addicting. It takes a very long time to gain more power, but if you are willing to wait the later missions are really fun.

The game has a stamina system, makes you watch ads, has multiple battle passes, has inventory limits so you have to pay to increase them and even plays itself. So the only thing you end up doing is inventory management and forking up cash.

dropped to 1 star due to the monetization. Each $65.00 pack is 10k gems or a little over 30 "pulls" for equipment. Having spent close to $1k (insane), I've pulled 103 items with only 1 weapon at 5 stars. The gem system is insanely stingy considering how much it costs to "randomly" get all Commons and junk items the majority of the time. I enjoy dq smash for the DQ theme but they need to seriously rethink monetization. screw battle passes and ad passes that feel mandatory.

Gameplay is okay for a while, then gets very grindy. I'm finishing chapter 3 and my level 34 2 star weapon only deals 1 damage with type advantage, so I'm better off using disadvantaged type 3 star equipment to actually deal damage. The auto feature is nice to help control the character, but it does not try to avoid dangerous terrain or traps which is very annoying.

I've only played about an hour but so far but I do like what I've experienced. Everything you expect from DQ is there - the music, the designs, the monsters. I've not had to pay for anything but I'm skeptical of any gacha game. It has an average if not straightforward mission mode- very rogue lite.

i like it a lot, the gacha mechanic is useless which is good and bad. bad because if you put money in you're really not getting anything of value, good because this is a gacha game that does not need any money it even lets you fully turn off the ads. the quest rewards are very generous, progression feels great, gameplay is fun, dragon quest is always a blast. if you like dragon quest and have a taste for gacha this is excellent

Best DQ game on the go! It's obviously another Vampire Survivor clone but with its own flare. Best game since V.S imo so far that I played that is. also they took my sword designed from the contest they had before this game was released!

I want to say I enjoy this game but the Devs are mental. They keep adding events and new content that have outscaled the majority of the player base and DEFINITELY outscaled any Day 1 Free to Play players. What the actual heck are these developers doing making Easy mode barely possible as an end game player when they have 2 HIGHER DIFFICULTIES NO ONE CAN EVEN BEAT. I can't rant enough about how quickly this game is becoming unplayable.

There are too many problems with this game to list in 500 characters so I'll just include the worst: The rates are absolutely horrible (pulled 60 times and got nothing) and the fact that you don't get stamp card rewards for using vouchers is hot garbage. The Martial Artist skill tree is already broken and they've done nothing but give an empty promise as a solution. The battle passes (all four of them) are total trash and give useless 7% chance vouchers with no rate-up or guarantee. Disappointed

Abysmal drop rates! Since day 1, I have purchased every pass available and even by spending extra in banners I've only managed to acquire 1 full banner set. New banner items are only available for that banner and more than 25 rainbow items are contaminating each banner. there is a 7% rainbow pull, where for a banner item you'll only have 0.5%! I only keep playing this because of my love for DQ and I don't see myself playing for much longer unless this gets fixed. Also, equip effects should stack

This game has some great charm and major potential were it a full game, but it's frustratingly soured and buried behind antiquated phone game mechanics: miserable grind/stamina rate for medal equipment and resources for character growth (leveling each character from scratch per class takes way too long); medals require too many at too low a drop rate. Gacha gem reward distribution (many accomplishments giving less than 1%/10-pull) with predatory unsatisfying gacha rates and stamp/pity system.

Main draw is the Dragon Quest branding. Typical mobile game mechanics with periodic playtime with an emphasis on grinding whenever you have the "stamina". Simple gameplay is easy with some build options, but items are typically useless unless you're getting the 3 star gear, which is the main draw and money trap. Optional ads are a nice change in practice. Employs the toxic practices of mobile gaming to get you to play and spend. The Dragon Quest story is a somewhat empty drag.

Being honest, as much as I love this game, it is only a small step above "only okay." Very light and breezy bullet heaven-style combat where you can build pretty powerful synergies depending on the weapons/armors you have and what they do. That said, some weapons/armors literally just exist to make specific bosses and challenges a cakewalk, or at least easier to a noticeable degree. A bit too on-the-nose of an incentive to spend money. Growth in power happens SLOWLY.

I have never experienced such an annoying app before. I knew it was a cellphone game, I knew to expect a.bunch of menu to clic. but the tutorial was annoying, forcing you to clic certains places 20 Times in a row with loadings in between. I had to download, install, do the tutorial once, game crashed while downloading the rest of the game, had redo install, redownload. once I got through the tutorial, wanted to check t I could the pop ups, changed a setting game crashed, corrupted. uninstalled.

au début le jeu peux sembler sympathique mais dès le monde 3 on voit directement le problème.. Les niveaux monte très vite en niveau sans nous laisser le temps de progresser et notre progression avance selon notre équipement qui est assez difficile à avoir sur les bannières limitée non pas car les pourcentages sont bas mais surtout parce qu'on nous donne que des miettes pour faire des invocations et quand on à un équipement légendaire c'est souvent un équipement permanent ça décourage fort..

Credit where it is due - the devs take feedback and make adjustments accordingly, but it still tends to feel like one step forward and two steps back. The game should not feel like a second job. The reward structure could be a lot less stingy as well. It's a fun game when you aren't navigating 30 different menus.

I enjoyed the game. my phone got stolen and the steps to recover your data is more dificult than dealing with the IRS. dont bother trying to recover your data. they ask for your vocations and levels your characters were, levels, basically tedious data you can't possibly remember. To bad. you got 1 star for bad customer support. I don't reccomend this game because if you will not have access to your data.
