*Caution* this is abandonware. It is already not working at all on my pixel 10. Navigating is near impossible when you tap to investigate an element of the scene. Usually it will either just show up with a black screen where you can't see any details but the interaction still seems to work, or it just redisplays the environment that you were in when you clicked on an object in the scene. Restarting the app usually allows you to do it again and it will work, but only once.
- Elliot Schultz · v1.1.0
Great game, very interesting storyline and even jumping from year to year it is very easy to follow and understand. it also has a great hint system so if you just need a nudge and not the entire answer it will give that! We need more games like these! Great game guys
- Brenda Brown
decent game, however for the length, I would say it's not necessarily worth the cost, but others may disagree and is a personal gripe. Otherwise for a way to spend an evening it was fun.
- rachel dunnett · v1.1.0
Simply amazing! This game is very creative. I really enjoyed the involvement of the game's features & even my notebook. I've now played both EXIT games. Please make a 3rd!!!
- Sylvia Marquez · v1.1.0
Puzzles and hints are absolutely ridiculous, and the game is too expensive. Don't waste your time or money.
- Linda Houston
It's so full of bugs on my foldable that I cannot play it 😩
- Christoph S · v1.1.0
i really love the Exit boardgames but i really struggled with this app - there are a lot of glitches that make the game almost impossible to enjoy. A lot of the graphics don't show up half the time, leading to me having to start and restart the game multiple times and losing time, getting quickly frustrated and resorting to using hints because i can't load the clues and want to move on to the next puzzle. I really wanted to enjoy this but the glitches were too severe for a good experience
- Moss Meunier · v1.1.0
Really good game. Some of the puzzles are really challenging but fortunately the hints are really good when you need them.
- Ben Todd · v1.1.0
So happy that the developers created a digital EXIT game. We're huge fans of the box games. I hope they continue to develop more for mobile use.
- Diane Hovey · v1.0.2
I have played about 20 of the boxes Exit games, and this game was similar in the problem solving required. The game does a good job of ramping up the difficulty of the puzzles, and removing items once they are finished being used. The puzzles were usually straightforward to understand, but I did need help with a couple of them, so don't be afraid to use hints or go online to get support if you get stuck. Story was clever and interesting. If you enjoy the Exit games, and have done at least a few of them successfully, then I think you would enjoy the app version.
- LarryBoy83 · v1.0.2
Played both of the games and loved them!!!! Hope more will come!
- Sandra K. · v1.0.2
This is a fabulous game. So well thought out. Don't believe the reviews. The puzzles are just the right difficulty that you can't rush through but can come back another day with another idea and make progress. Just don't give up. Please make another.
- Jonathan Moore · v1.0.2
Some of the riddles are really unclear. Hints must be used to solve. At least I think so. Also one riddle takes you to a broken unmaintained website and do it is not solvable.
- zipo13 · v1.0.2
We’ve played most all of the EXIT board games. This was by far the best! It took 4 of us around 6 hours to complete over two sessions. Need more of these!!
- jimgoss7891 · v1.0.2
If you are familiar with the “EXIT” games, this is an amazing virtual game. Great puzzles, great story. Very creative. Wish they do more games like this.
- Mr Quasi · v1.0.2
I’m replaying this game - I played it first a long time ago - and it’s just not fun. The puzzles are hurting my brain - they are too complex and twisted, with obscure clues. It’s like the dev is trying to make the puzzles as hard as possible and has forgotten that they also need to be fun and solvable. I agree with what many other reviewers have said about this aspect of the game. Yes, the hints are there, but who wants to play a game where you have to use so many hints and don’t get to just play and feel good. It’s too bad because the game has a lot going for it - it’s pretty substantial with a good atmosphere and nice graphics. But the design of the puzzles just gets in the way. If they were just a couple of notches down in complexity it would be a whole different story. Don’t get me wrong - I don’t mean I want easy puzzles. I just want them to be more logical and have clues that are less obscure. For the record, I have the same criticism of their other game.
- Suzsho · v1.0.2
Super fun and just the right amount of challenging, can't wait for more! Also love the board game version.
- Shaila Islam (Caedn)
Puzzles are ridiculously hard. They are like solving a crossword in a language I barely know, do you pretty much need the clues the whole ways through. You know you get a clue and you think oh now I get it? About 50% of this game is not like that. I had no clue what they were talking about.
- Anon Anon · v1.0.2
I play any and all 3D puzzle/escape room games I come across and this one is not very fun. The puzzles are too much of a stretch with clues that aren’t very insightful. The answers to some of them make little sense. For example, why would the inverse of ^. be just a dot without the flipped ^? Some of the solutions require you to use things like the game’s SETTINGS to figure out. Too much of an attempt to be clever. The settings are not part of the story. Sorry, not a fan of this one and quit before completing.
- melissaganz · v1.0.2
Has a unique table top game feel. Don’t miss it if you are an exit fan!
- Semi Attic · v1.0.2
Excellent game, smart puzzles!
- Lydia Manca
I love anything by Glitch Games (Forever Lost), Fireproof Studios (The Room), Blue Brain Games (House of Da Vinci), CottonGame (Isoland), Lucasfilm Games (Tales of Monkey Island) & this game falls in that category. I hope the developer does more!
- KhaleesiGFY · v1.0.2
It hasn’t stumped me yet, but it’s making me think. I love it when I reach the aha! moments! These are puzzles I haven’t seen before and it’s kind of addictive… I want to keep playing to see what’s next.
- camerashyinma · v1.0.2
Several other reviews critique this game’s difficulty—but in my view, that’s part of its charm. So many games feature puzzles that are too simplistic, repetitive, or boring. EXIT: Curse of Ophir, on the other hand, is not only creative but also UNIQUE. This game will make you think, puzzle, explore, and use hints. Just surrender to it: The hints are there, so use them. Please support this game: If you’re an experienced puzzler or escape room fanatic, you'll really enjoy this game!
- spiritedmatt · v1.0.2
This game is hard only because the designers don’t provide enough information to try and solve the puzzles. Even if you use all the clues, the clues themselves are impossible to decipher. It’s like a bunch of super engineering nerds sat around and came up with puzzles only hey could solve with their own training.
- ijokloiuy · v1.0.2
Love Exit games, love the think outside the box puzzle solving and the app versions are no different. Designers are leagues ahead of everyone else. Remind me of MCF games where everyone else would copy them, after they had already moved on to bigger and better. My only complaint is one I have with all of them, know what I'm supposed to do, have everything I need, but can't figure out how to implement it.(see jay bee and thesaya) I hope you continue raising the bar. Going to start LOTR version
- A Google user · v1.0.2
On the whole it was worth the few bucks. It is more difficult than some which I like but some of that difficulty seemed forced. And did not like including the app in the puzzles. I takes you out of the story mindset.
- gumbright · v1.0.2
I would rate it higher, but with almost every puzzle the last step was unintuitive. I figured out the webpage, but not where to input the result, for example. Having to go to the hints to figure out what to do with your results so often took away quite a bit of the enjoyment. I still enjoyed it, though.
- Thesaya · v1.0.2
like the tough puzzles! New style of puzzle for me. Many firsts; needing to go online to access info for puzzles, or the need to move/reorient the device you are playing on. Very challenging. I needed the hints many times
- Ani K · v1.0.2
This is no hidden object as most “puzzle” games tend to be, nowadays. These are real brainteasers of great variety!
- Ruby J. Scheme · v1.0.2
Overall, I really enjoyed this and am looking forward to playing through the next one. For the most part, the puzzles were quite challenging but doable if you’re really paying attention. And that’s exactly what I’m looking for in this type of game. However, a few, particularly the last one, were just too obtuse. The only puzzles where I used ANY clues, I used ALL the clues.
- TLAllen617 · v1.0.2
this feels like a good puzzle escape room. I'm stuck and I don't want to use heads but I at least use two sets of hints but that's how I know it's good because the hints made sense and I just didn't know how to do it.
- Asha Fernanders · v1.0.2
Really great game. We solved it without any hint, but we are having played a few exit games before. Some puzzles were still tough though, dspecially the last one took us ages. as always, when you figure it out it seemed nit that difficult. Very rewarding game and was much fun to play with 2 together. 999The only questions is: Why is there only one out yet? :)
- N G · v1.0.2
Well polished game with great atmosphere. Difficulty easy to moderate, can finish in a few sessions. If you're a fan of the tabletop Exit games I would recommend this experience.
- Joe G · v1.0.2
Good challenge. Well made. Did crash a few times but nothing too crazy.
- Robin Bigras · v1.0.2
I’ve played a number of the physical Exit games and have enjoyed most of them. But I’ve found the puzzles to be about 1/3 easy, 1/3 hard but satisfying, and 1/3 impossible because they require huge/unsupported deductive leaps. In this game, the proportion of puzzles that fell into the third category was significantly higher. When I needed hints, I’d often fully worked out the first and second clues but just couldn’t make the leap to the solution. In two or three cases, I read the solution and *still* couldn’t understand how they got to it. There are much better puzzle box apps in the world. For Exit, stuck with the physical games.
- Laurcaev · v1.0.2
Just got it... I get to the choose a profile page...and then nothing.....i dont see anywhere too get help. Ive restarted, removed and readied the app, everything. Help! Update...finally got it to open.
- spvkid · v1.0.2
Wholly unique puzzle game. The mix of websites and game puzzles is unlike anything I've played. I loved this game Well deserving of 5 stars, and I hope more is made.
- Oatlord · v1.0.2
I loved it! It was such a good puzzle!
- Casaundra Mae · v1.0.2
I thought the puzzles were very well done. Used no hints. One improvement is you could leave an archive of past clues. I would at times figure out a clue by guessing at the last Number as example and on it would solve and take away the clues so I couldn't see why that was right.
- John Phillip · v1.0.2
A really excellent game! I didn't know what to expect, but as a fan of the Exit escape room games I was keen to try this app version. It didn't disappoint! It was just like the board game version where you need to think "outside the box". It's difficult, but with enough time and thought, possible to solve. It's inventive, interesting and overall enjoyed it a lot. My only recommendation is that you do it solo; my wife quickly got bored doing this with me. Will there be more of these coming out?
- Nik Radmore · v1.0.2
Really enjoyed the game and puzzles. In the same vein as the box games which I love. Some out of the box thinking required which I also enjoyed. I hope we see more in this series and soon.
- Pinto 2011 · v1.0.2
Great game that doesn't use a board, and thanks for clues.. 😉
- Buffalo Bill
I couldn’t get the last puzzle to work and I can’t find any walkthroughs to help. The hints don’t work either.
- Nanax4boys · v1.0.2
Big fan of the physical board game! This was amazing! Im so happy it was turned into a mobile game cause Ive searched to see if it was on mobile before. The wording for clues in the game are a bit obscure at times.. or makes you feel lost without using a clue but I still enjoyed it. The game is really hard to search for on the search engine though. If i search for 'exit the game' it doesnt come up at all. I only found it by chance. I hope there will be more.
- Kirsty Sunny Lowe · v1.0.2
This game was very different from other games, it used things outside of the game and required a lot of outside the box thinking to solve puzzles. All the puzzles were unique and creative, and it was overall a very good experience. I would love to see more of these games!
- bunkeredg · v1.0.2
Some of the puzzles were a serious stretch - I mean you get so close, but the solution may depend on the orientation of the objects and I'll be damned but I'm not trying every which way. For example that final puzzle with the frame - solution depends which way you're holding the frame. There's a couple like that where I figured everything out except orientation and then had to use three hints bc the thing I didn't know was in the third hint. Maybe I'm just not that smart 😂🤣. Nonetheless, it was a different take and overall I liked it. Rather short.
- NorthwestGirl · v1.0.2
Enjoyed the game. Wouldn't have been able to get thru it without hints as there was no rhyme or reason to it, but the hints kept me from having to go to a walkthrough. Graphics are beautiful. Imagination that went into it are amazing. Could have been longer. All in all a nice job by the developers.
- Diana Williams · v1.0.2
It was fun but there are a few minor glitches. When viewing items in your inventory, some items don't show at all. Sometimes if you zoom in it will appear for a few seconds before fading away again. I couldn't see a couple of items at all and ended up having to use hints to get through. All in all, another good exit game, just needs some technical updates.
- Chris Gordon · v1.0.2
I am a fan of these types of games. This one really makes you think! Keep more coming!!
- Ssdragonfly · v1.0.2
Overall it deserves 5 stars, I only gave it 4 because although the puzzles were amazing and some different than I have experienced, and I have over 300 in my library, some needed just a little more info to solve rather than use a hint. The last was most Def the hardest and no where near enough info regarding the planets. Otherwise..an amazing game! Long game time, very interesting and some new puzzles, and story line easy to follow and quite interesting. Thank you for all of your hard work!
- Brenda Brown · v1.0.2
I love these games so when i saw an app i thought id give it a go. The graphics were great and the puzzles were challenging. Just giving 4 stars because some of the puzzles i needed somewhere between hints 2 and 3; I already had everything and could see the connection, i just couldn't work out how. Also some were so hard that even with the answer i couldn't understand how they got there. But overall it was great.
- Jay Bee · v1.0.2
Better than any of the board game version. Thoroughly enjoyed this one. Please do more!
- John Galt $$$ · v1.0.1
Truly enjoyable!
- MgtDgr · v0.3
I enjoyed the game but it was a little too hard for me and I needed to use hints a lot. And I usually pride myself in being able to figure things out in puzzle game. This one was a little too much though. Even after looking at all three hints and completing the game with its help, I still don't understand why I had to insert which disks where at the end. It is a beautiful game and the story is good but at the end I was just happy to be done with it.
- Sylvain Dicaire · v0.3
Hi there you will need a lot of out the box thinking to solve these riddles - too much for my liking. I needed quite a lot of hints to either confirm what I already was thinking or to get me onto the correct path. Do not get me wrong though, there is nothing wrong with the game - actually it is nicely done. But a bit too challenging for me. Thanks Felix
- Gwen4711 · v1.0.1
I have played quite a few escape games, such as The Room, Meridian 157 and Legacy - The Ancient Curse, but Exit the Game - The Curse of Ophir was a tough one. I got stuck quite a few times and had to use all the clues to get through to the next thing. I became really stuck on the footpath and despite following the clue instructions, I could not get it to work for me. For the first time I am quitting a escape room game. Congrats to everyone who made it through all the way. It was to confusing for me.
- Draff 8-29 · v1.0.1
These game is realy not make sense. The ouzzle nit helping at all for solve.
- Laurensius Arief Rahman
Just as much fun as the physical games hope more come out like this?
- Heather Reid-Barratt
The game and its puzzles are fun and challenging. However, like its namesake boardgames, the app has no replay value, making its price rather steep for an app with limited play time. On the plus, though, no ads to interrupt play.
- Jason Hawks · v0.3
Love the game so far. Very well optimized, puzzles are not too easy and everything runs smoothly. 10/10 would buy again.
- TylerFromMN · v1.0.1
The clues are poorly thought out. You figure them out correctly, but oh, you have to actually use the clue backwards for no reason. Don’t waste your money.
- harsh1573 · v1.0.1
A nice take on the Exit card games. Interesting scenario and puzzles. The app performed well no crashes or bugs. I didn't need to use any hints at all. Some of the puzzles were really straight forward, others needed a bit of lateral thinking. I have played most of the physical exit games and they were on par.
- Andy Pelton · v0.3
It would be fine if it were free, but it's short and unsatisfying and, at more than £2, it's not worth it. If you want unusual puzzles, try Bart Bonte's colour-named games, or Nicolet.jp for some simple escape games. They're all free and there's a bunch of them! And if you do have the money to spend, buy a physical Exit game instead (The Pharaoh's Tomb is a good one).
- Hare Trinity · v0.3
Just like the boxed games! Some people are needing lots of hints, I think this is because they have not played EXIT the game. The way the puzzles work in this app are the same line of thinking to solve the box games. Super fun!! I hope they come out with another EXIT the app game.
- Sophia Adams · v0.3
We are a big fan of the Exit board games and love the new format!
- Fiona McLachlan · v0.3
Im a huge fan of the Exit the Game series. This is a fun solo alternative. Took me about 3 hours. I only recommend for iPad because I think some features would be too small on an iPhone screen. Looking forward to more of these!
- arloARLY · v1.0.1
Gutes spiel mit ein paar interessanten Rätseln. Definitiv ein gutes Debut der EXIT-Autoren, müsste aber für den Preis schon doppelt so lange sein. Da bringt "The Room" mehr.
- MajorTwip · v0.3
My wife and I have played all of the physical exit games and really enjoy them. Manipulating physical objects is an important game element. This iPad version was surprisingly well done and polished. We enjoyed as much as the physical versions. Well done! Hope to se more of these.
- mprsns · v1.0.1
While playing your game I had to go on to the internet and look up a walk-through to see that the rifle and shoe in the closet are missing. Another problem with the game is that you have to go to a website to find clues. If the internet is unavailable then you cannot proceed with the game. There is potential here, and I hope you do make another game where you improve clarity of your puzzles and make them more intuitive without sacrificing difficulty. I enjoy games with difficult puzzles.
- Mark G · v0.3
Brilliant game but man alive it's tough! Hopefully more are on the way?
- Matt Howe · v0.3
Fantastisch! Ein vollwertiges Exit-Game - nur auf dem Smartphone. Tolle Rätsel: logisch, in sich schlüssig und auch mal out of the Box. Interessantes Story-Konzept. Dazu ein schönes Spieldesign mit sehr guter Interaktivität der gefundenen/zu benutzenden virtuellen Dinge. Danke, es hat sehr viel Spaß gemacht, bitte mehr davon!
- Springbean · v0.3
If you like the physical Exit games, you’ll really enjoy this game. The puzzles were fun and interactive. Very unique experience. Hoping they make more.
- MyImaginaryHero · v1.0.1
First thoughts - Found a bug. I solved the Italy puzzle before I should have. As such, I advanced further in the game without objects, I presume, I need. I ask the game for hints and it gives me hints for a puzzle I have not ever seen. I think I'll have to restart and try again. Fun thus far though.
- Nathan Head · v0.3
I enjoyed this game although I must admit it was challenging. The story is creative and I loved the artwork. I know some reviewers have mentioned about the need to use hints all the time, I found that too. However, most of the hints were 'ahhh that makes sense' moments - just remember to think outside the box! Highly recommend this game especially if you enjoy their other games, and it being their first app. They've clearly worked really hard with this game and I can't wait for more from you!
- Grace W · v0.3
I was really enjoying this game. Got to 1968 the second time and solved the gramophone puzzle. A box opened on the bottom and … it was empty! So I pulled up a vid walkthrough and I noticed that in the vid the player had a chessboard on the bar, and the ability to select an ice cube from the tray. I did not have these options. On the bar I found a pamphlet for the hotel. Are there supposed to be different versions of the game?
- SueWho501 · v1.0.1
Thanks for this experience. Really good graphics and awesome experience!
- Nathan Chan · v0.3
I’ve tried to open this app several times. No luck. Tried reinstalling. No luck. Can’t get beyond the “Profiles” screen. Using an IPad with system 15.0.2. Sure didn’t get my money’s worth on this one.
- Rate Rat · v1.0.1
What a great challenge to follow the clues and put them together to solve puzzles. There is a good hint system, but I wasted a few as I had already gotten to the part where I only needed the final one. I’m still mad at myself on the Morse code one. Even though I only ended with an 8 rating, I loved the game. For those who like logic and deduction, this is the game for you! Yes it can be difficult, but very, very satisfying!
- Gammygamer · v1.0.1
Everytime i open the game you ask for a review, on something i already paid for. Well, you got one.
- ScrewDoublefine · v1.0.1
I realize I am not the brightest star in the sky but to me the puzzles and clues were extremely disjointed….for one, I was supposed to pick up my iPad and hold in front of my face and rotate it…..come on! For me, this game was a waste of money.
