FINAL FANTASY III

This game has some issues with the control scheme, such as an imperfect virtual D-pad and tap controls not working in hidden passages at all. There is also no controller support. Fortunately there is an auto save feature, but it's easy to miss and I did miss it for quite some time. Overall though, the game is extremely good, spectacular music and animations and the gameplay is as good as ever even if there is some rebalancing.

I played the pixel remastered 1 and 2. playing this one has to be the hardest most annoying entry yet. There have been days where I would do nothing but grind the first half just to get demolished the second half no matter how long I grind for. there are (In my opinion) too many jobs. I would let one character attack all enemies to get these job levels but unlike ff2 actual character levels did something. When I got an airship character level at 42+ was a must because the difficulty inclined x4

I'm writing this review before finishing the game. I'll finish this for sure but the stuttering problem needs to be mentioned now. This is really annoying and I don't have this problem at all with the previous two Pixel Remasters. EDIT: I've finished the game and I enjoyed it very much despite the occasional stutters. The job system is a bit too much though. Too many jobs are unnecessary. The characters are generic but at least they have some kind of story unlike in the first game.

Great remaster for the original Final Fantasy. While it doesn't have the bonus content from the DS era and beyond, it does well in perfecting the original JRPG experience and adapting it to a mobile device. It stands out from the rest of the pixel remaster series in that it allows the English audience to play an official 2D release for the very first time

My first time through this one I wasn't really enjoying myself. After stopping mudway and starting again but playing with a different mind set I really came to love this game. FF3 introduces the job system, as all fans already know. It overwhelmed me at first but with a fresh approach I found it to be very rewarding though I wish the jobs were a little better spread out through the game.

Overpriced. $18 for a game that's over 30 years old and they couldn't even add controller support. The UI is bland and the font is out of place. This game just needed some polish, is that asking too much?

This is one of the worst ports I've ever seen. This game was for the NES made back maybe in the late 1980's early 90s. When this game came out it was probably 12 kilobytes maybe 6 kb in size. It is now over 500MB. I don't care how remastered it is, there is something wrong with that. The game crashes constantly, probably due to memory leaks. It runs worse than it did on NES by far. Even walking around on the world map is bad. Purchase at your own risk. Maybe the 3d version is better.

I mind playing this when I was younger and got to nepto cave without knowing how to change jobs, took me hours with no avail, figured out by accident and blitzed it with 4 BLM. This holds up to the classic experience, quite the difficulty curve to begin but it's worth it.

The Definitive version of this game. I've loved Final Fantasy since the first one on my NES, it was my introduction to rpgs and first vg ost to grab me. All of this is to say that this pixel remaster imho does the best job of matching the feel and tone of it's original ost (wish the ff1 battle music sounded more skulking like og for etc). On top of that, it is easily the most fun version of this game, featuring a better overall balance. This one's special.

No autosave. Not sure what they were thinking, but this means that if you switch away from the app during play for any reason (e.g. to respond to a text) the app may quit and then you're sent back to your last save or quicksave data, potentially losing hours of progess. Unplayable. Too bad!

Still major bugs. Everything seems to run good if you stay with the starting classes, black, white, red mages, warrior. But when I tried to switch "jobs" to scholar, ranger, thief, knight. Not a single one gains mp as some are supposed to, yes, even after sleeping at an inn or using a restoration well. So all spells become useless in other job classes.

The game has definitely not gone through the finishing quality checks that the remasters of ff1 and ff2 did. It's playable, but you'll want to save A LOT. Anything from black screen, touch controls just stopping, or game breaking bugs like your ship getting permanently stuck. I encounter something like this every 10 - 15 minutes or so. It's a shame since the 1st two games in the series played so smoothly. SE really needs to fix this game up. It's not like they don't have the capacity.

This is f'n amazing. Ff3 is one of my favorite ff games. This may be the definitive way to play. So many qol changes from the nes & ds versions for a streamlined experience. And listen to the new ost, I hope the ds version adds a purchasable upgrade to have the pixel remasters' ost. It's been a long time since replaying through ff3 felt like a new experience, & I would recommend all fans of this game to play this version. Although the ds version is more challenging making both viable options.

MANDATORY ONLINE CONNECTION DRM prevents me from playing away from wifi. The touch dpad is horrible, with NO option for gamepad support. Tap controls don't work at all for hidden areas. Battle UI is terrible. Text is incredibly small. The game runs at about 20fps, despite me owning a decent phone. Awful port. VERY AWFUL PORT.
