great return visit to the world of FFIV, I will admit they redo some of the first IV just with a different scene, and the game feels familiar. There are many new fresh game play moments, and some pretty cool new characters, and returning characters. not a bad experience on mobile or tablet much better experience on a gaming device.

I'm as big an FFIV fan as they come (going back to 1991), but this subpar sequel is a repetitive, disjointed, fanservice-y mess that relies almost entirely on recycled assets from the original game. There is one chapter where you're literally forced to play through the same dungeon THREE TIMES! The Band system and Moon Phases mix things up and add an extra level of strategy, but they can't make up for the fact that the entirety of TAY feels like DLC. I added a star just cause it's FFIV.

I really want to enjoy this game but I have a few complaints. I really don't like the camera because it's too close to the player and that makes exploration a struggle due to not being able to see your surroundings. One of the reasons why I love the original FF4 and FF4: The After Years is the field map's layout. Spacious and easily visible. My other complaint is that battles can feel sluggish at times. I'm assuming it's because of the 3D rendering for the remake.

I've always loved Final Fantasy IV, it's one of my favorites. When I saw this game, I knew I had to get it. I personally love the new mechanics, though they did take a bit of getting used to.

played up to Final Fantasy XIII on PS 2 and PS 3 having missed X-2 and XIII - 2. XI and XIV are both online. Finished I , II , VI and Mystic Quest. Bought all 6 originals for Android having missed Final Fantasy III and IV. Playing Final Fantasy IX on my PS 2. These side games feel like they do fill in a few gaps with Final Fantasy but kind of do their own thing with it.

I gotta go 4 out of 5 and maybe less because there's no voice acting in this like there was in ff4 3d remake and it's just a basic a to b very constricting game. Most final fantasy have a level of freedom where you get to run around and get cool new gear or level up outside but this version is 90% inside caves and dungeons and doesn't allow any movement outside the set storyline perimeters. It's great and nostalgic in a way but ridiculously aggravating for final fantasy lovers.

Keeps freezing at certain points within 2 characters, Yangs and Paloms, stories. Uninstall/ reinstall, still does som even after totally restarting game, from the beginning. Leaving no way to finish the story. If it had not been so long since I purchased the game, I'd ask for a refund. Seems to be the same for most square enix mobile games, something always going wrong. Good luck getting a reply from them.

Please fix the soft lock glitch on the mist cliff section of Kain's tale so the game can be progressed through to the other chapters. Otherwise I will have no choice but to uninstall the game because it is unplayable at this point. It's a shame, too because I really enjoy this adaptation of final fantasy.

Fantastic, nostalgic, and sufficiently challenging. Honors the original characters well while still managing to add depth to both story and gameplay. My main frustration was having missed things in earlier stories and not wanting to replay them for fear of losing progress in later stories, but that's just the completionist in me.

I just got done reporting you to the federal trade commission for selling a bogus game that doesn't fully work. Being in Japan won't save you from this one. Stranded me with an inconvenient glitch. I wanted to love Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. However, it was just okay. It had some good nostalgia going for it, little attention to detail that call back to Final fantasy IV. The interface is alright. My main issue is that the Mist Cliffs in Kain's Tale keep glitching. I'll start jumping, then get stuck on a ledge, and sometimes the music stops. I've reloaded a dozen times and got stuck at different spots in the cliffs. Alas.

Graphics are good, and the phone doesn't get too hot after extended periods of play. UI elements feel good as well. The gameplay, on the other hand, is quite imbalanced. Some of the stories you can go through are no problems, but a few (the last one mainly) will require a decent amount of grinding for levels and items. The story gets schlocky multiple times, and it doesn't fully explain itself in certain situations. If you are an FF4 fan, you'll probably like it, but it's not a classic.

Rushed job they did. So IV had voice actors and like all F.F. games there's prevention from grinding on low level enemy's due to the lack of experience received well the low level goblins just gave me right under 500 experience while being level 20 something... plus my other party member I think is close to 30 like they were doing 1 damage no way should I have gained that much exp. But the story this far has me intrigued. I'm only on the first story right now so guess I'll see.

I was really enjoying this until I encountered a game breaking glitch that means I now can't finish the game. During the Mist Cliff section of Kain's Tale the player character is supposed to jump up the cliff to progress but instead the character hops partway up and then stops which softlocks the game. Tried starting that tale over but the same thing happened again. This needs to be fixed in an update as the game is currently impossible to finish.
