Change some levels make them easier or chainstem for medium or easy to super hard cause. Some of those are just in the wrong placement but that's not why it's one star that's just one reason actually Whenever I click on the button that isn't supposed to give me ads, it gives me ads and after getting to past level 200, it just gets really, really, really hard. Like you have to get multiple multiple, multiple lives. A lot of Em, or you won't be able to complete the level. That's da reason it on🌟

Starts of decent, gradually introducing the player to game machanics for the first ~35 levels, and then the ads start. and they pile up quick. Every level, unskippable, and taking time away from challenges shared with other players, making paying for the no ads a minimum requirement to compete. And once you pay for that, the milking starts in earnest, begging to buy credits, power ups, etc. COMPLETELY RUINED BY MONETIZATION. Sigh.

Fine for what it is, a free game. However. I uninstalled. Why? I was playing another free game, got a mandatory add and it was for this one. I got the same add about 5 times in a rowl. Which is normal, but this add FORCES the game open EVERY. SINGLE. ADD. The game takes almost a minute to load and if I don't want to open the game (which I don't, naturally) I have to force quit it. The add is also impossible to get out of if you have the game installed, as it always opens the game not the store.

The game awards 40 coins for completing a level. It takes 900 cons to extend a level by 20 seconds. You need to complete 23 levels to get one bonus of 20 seconds. The time limits quickly become ridiculous with the amount of shuffling the puzzles force you to do. The intent is that you buy power ups, mostly with real money. This is less a game than it is a product blatantly designed to extract your money.

What happened?

This is my guilty pleasure! I have played and played this game, it used to be a relaxing while still challenging time, but lately it’s been super frustrating! I’ve spent too much money in this game, and I NEVER spend money on games. I buy the Monthly Pass each month, and the occasional $4.99 pack if I’m stuck. Recently things have changed, the game is changing to be more like other games, I loved this one because it was different! They changed the wheel to now dice that you have to earn to spin once you win 10 levels. I already earned it by winning the levels, why do I have to earn the bonus it again by playing the level. It should be a help at the start of that level. I feel like the levels have gotten harder, which may just be that I’m on such high levels, but the “medium” levels are just as hard, if not harder than the “hard” or “super hard” levels. I’m afraid all these changes have made my guilty pleasure, just guilt.

there hard and very hard but level 44 is impossible to complete without a booster no matter how hard I try like I get every single gecko that I can into the hole then the remaining ones I can't move because they are trapped and your in app purchases aren't cheap either like do better. At least give us the option to watch ads to earn those boosters and they aren't even rewarded when I finished the previous levels only the scissors/clock booster which I find makes no difference at all.

Any "puzzle" game that has a failure timer that you have to pay to remove or pause is not a good puzzle game. It's a money grab. If they had avoided that by making the timer optional or something, the smooth controls and decent puzzle generation would have made me a very happy player. That's not to mention the fake multiplayer "competitions" that most mobile games resort to.

Playing Gecko Out for 1 year and now at Level 1509. I loved this game, but the recent update is extremely frustrating. Earlier levels had ~2 min, now most have only 1 min. How can we solve 16–20 geckos in 1 min? Adventure Bounty dropping from 10 to 5 is also disappointing. Please increase timers by 15–30 sec and bring Bounty back to 10. Add an option to watch an ad for extra time after failing, or remove the forced 900-coin pop-up. Dice, Ball & Hammer versions are great please keep them.

The gameplay is fun, but the level timers are extremely stressful (especially with the focus on the 1st-try streak), and the fact I have to go back to the main menu between each level is *really* annoying (for some reason the loading bars take ages, too). I love this game, i love the geckos i can collect and the game is addicting. However, the medium levels almost never have enough time. even when im doing well, i run out of time and it’s unbelievably frustrating. i finally get a groove and then i have to restart. Great game but…

This used to be one of my favorite games, but I recently noticed the developers have decreased the time limits significantly making the game more stressful than fun. Due to these shorter limits, some of the levels are nearly impossible to pass without help. I’m also not too big a fan of the dice bonus mid game. I prefer the spin bonus at the beginning of the game. I’ll probably end up taking a break from the game.

Secretly Overcharging You

I have had this game for a few months now and enjoy the puzzles and playing the actual game. However, like many of these other reviews are stating, once you reach a certain point it is impossible to complete a level without cheats. You have to purchase coins in order to buy the cheats you need if you don’t already have them. I have clicked on the $1.99 option for 1,000 coins a handful of times. It has just come to my attention that instead of charging me the posted $1.99 amount, they have been charging me $43-$47 and change each time. I have submitted a refund request and have not heard anything back from them. I have 7 transactions that need to be refunded due to their complete misrepresentation of pricing and shady charging schemes. Do not get this game, do not buy anything, it is not worth the risk or time.

I am addicted to it. Indeed it grows harder and harder as progressing levels but I am currently at level 1186 and although I play some levels many many times, and in many cases have searched the internet for solutions I haven't yet become frustrated. Regarding ads, they are fair for a free App. The only glitch is that the extra 20 seconds button(900 coins cost), appears on the screen immediately after the level ends and in may times I hit it unwillingly as I was trying to move the gecko.

This is a great game!!! However, while I appreciate that as the levels increase so will the difficulty of the games, it has become apparent that this is being used as a money making scheme!!! This game is fun when you’re on a level that can be completed in the allotted time but there are so many levels that are just ridiculous to try to figure out in the time they give you. Less than two minutes for a very hard level is just dumb. I shouldn’t have to go find a YouTube video of someone completing the puzzle and study that video just to be able to get past a level. This game would be so much better with longer time allowances or the option to play in easy mode without a timer.

I love this game because it’s a fun concept and great game play. The animation and tactile feedback is a nice addition to the game. I enjoy playing games that are relaxing and challenging, but having a time limit on each level makes it more stressful. I feel it would be better With a limited number of moves instead of a timer. I also want to just be able to play the game and not have to go thru the animations of the challenged and collection of puzzle pieces etc. that takes up valuable game time.

Levels require cheats too often.

It was fun for a bit. But after a while it’s like you always need cheats to win. You need to win 5-10 levels (depending on the booster) to get perks, but if you loose once you lose everything. I’ve also noticed anytime I win more then 5 levels in a row, the next level the app with stall, force me to close it out. Which counts as me loosing the level, even if I would have won. If they offered a zen option, where you could just enjoy playing and not fighting a timer, it would be great! But the time almost always seems too short, spending days on a single level is really frustrating.

Got extremely boring after 250

Till level 250 or so it was challenging. I think they ran out of ideas and the sleeping geckos suck! Who is the PM who thought of this. Deleted it after one level. Never been so annoyed with a game.

I used to love this game but since the last update it has become really laggy and it's now impossible to play. shame as it was one of my favourites. it appears to be the ads that cause the lag as it only happens when a Temu ad appears across the bottom, but I'm wary of paying for no ads in case it doesn't solve the problem. shouldn't need to pay for a game for it to work properly.

Fun game. Nice display too. Just that it gets to a point you can't play without boosters and I've never seen a puzzle mobile game that costs as much as this. The prices are ridiculous. I absolutely love this game and I am currently on level 1439. However, I am extremely frustrated now because I will get halfway through a level, and it will just stop - unable to move the geckos anywhere (this especially happens when I'm using Adventure time, free play, or using a power-up tool). I have to do a force stop, and then it will only work for a little while before it freezes up again. I am ready to just walk away from this game. Addictive. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. Pay to Win. Like the common complaints say the timer is the worst part. Minimal timer on very hard levels. They sucker you in to keep playing so you have to buy boosts in order to advance. Don't waste your time. Don't waste your energy. Don't waste your money. I really enjoy the gameplay most of the time. What I don't enjoy is that you cannot choose to replay earlier chapters or levels. There's one level issued to you and you can play nothing else until you pass the given level. No side quests, no training or practice levels, no untimed levels. It's very frustrating and causes me to ignore the game for stretches because when I can't pass the level on the first try or I run out of "specials", it is no longer fun or enjoyable.

I've been playing this game for a while and I get making the games difficult but you really can't get past some of the levels unless you buy items. Also, after level 850 the game lags so even if you have the stuff to beat it, you can't because the time runs out before you get one gecko to move.

a recent update caused the screen to be unresponsive. can't move anything or couch anything without a second delay. have to force close the app to get working again .. for a few seconds. now unplayable glitch aside ... it was Fun to begin with then turned into frustration. the game went from easy to fun/challenging to almost impossible. I downloaded this game for my rewards app, thinking I wouldnt like it, but I was proven wrong. its a genuinely fun game that requires you to think on your feet before the timer runs out. Not to mention the physics of the geckos themselves is super smooth, like those worm on a string toys. Love it!

really fun game but definitely agree that the levels become very difficult very quickly. there was an update recently, and since then, I no longer have the scissors boost and that's annoying. when I select the scissors boost or have the adventurer's bounty, the scissors turn into extra time and no longer shorten any geckos. I really hate that because there are some levels that I cannot beat without the scissors... so, I won't be playing much until that bug gets fixed.
