Disappointed

I NEVER buy games but I bit the bullet for this game. I used to play it on my son’s systems for years and I thought it would be just like that. I played for a bit but the more I played, the more I didn’t like it. I was playing this game on an iPad and it is just not the same. The instructions are not written for use on an iPad. It has gotten to the point where I can’t do anything but take care of my animals, do some harvesting and planting before the day runs out. I can’t figure out how to acquire materials, make my bag larger, fish and other things. It’s so frustrated that I spent $18.00 on something that I can’t enjoy. Never again.

the game is fun, the story is cute, i love the harvest moon games. 2 complaints: 1)around year 3 the game is a tad glitchy, the squares in the garden dont always highlight, it does not stop the watering or anything from working. the camera movment glitches when the character travels around. 2) this is more a me thing, i can not stand the mineing part of the game. its frustrating to the point i genuinely stop playing the game when i have to grind for silver as hard as it makes you grind.

The visuals are charming and the story is enjoyable. What surprised me most is how realistic the economy feels. Unlike many farming games where you quickly become rich, making money here takes real effort. However, time passes too quickly, horses are limited to the barn area, town events feel shallow, romance is lacking, farm work becomes repetitive, and bugs such as the Unmanned Store can be frustrating. A good game that needs more polish.

love the game. would like to have seen some new animals ( goats for milk, pigs for bacon, ducks for eggs) maybe nice the cat can round up. different barn for chickens. once married Set you spouse to do something like feed animals brush ect ect. have a couple of kids and see them leave and one has to take over the farm. yes see your self die. the possibility are endless.

You cannot get rid of the kid

To start; it keeps glitching when I close out of storing something in the fridge or cabinet and freezes until I completely close out and restart the app, losing the entire day if I don’t remember to save. Tried reporting it but the customer service button on the homepage doesn’t work so…here I am. The game isn’t fun enough to keep having to play the same day over and over or constantly make sure I’m saving my progress. As for the game itself, it’s average. The days go by really fast which is frustrating when I have a task I *have* to complete but a blessing when I don’t because there’s not a lot of variety when it comes to actual things to do. You take care of animals, plant crops, fish, and mine. It gets old fast. Also, in order to advance to the end of the game (that comes quicker than you’d think), you HAVE to develop a romantic interest and get married. After you get married and the game “ends” you can continue in a free play mode BUT YOU GET PREGNANT. It’s not optional. And there’s no option for getting rid of the kid. That’s where I’ve stopped playing twice now and I think this last time will be my final time unless some big changes are made to the gameplay. Thanks for being a time killer that ended in disappointment. It was decent while it lasted.

I have been a longtime Harvest Moon fan and have played the series since the PS1 version. I bought this version after 20 years and the nostalgia is amazing, but several bugs spoil the experience: animals in the barn freeze or shake, the character gets stuck between them, time passes too fast, and stamina drains very quickly. Please fix these issues in future updates. This game is very important to longtime fans, and I hope we can enjoy the calm, relaxing experience again.Thank you for listening.

This is most shopisticated HM that I ever played. Many plants, livestocks, horses, wild things ever. But some things that other HMs aren't in there, especially riding horses outside the farm. Please consider it. The others are: 1. Add delete unused save slot feature. It is annoying when incidentally tap wrong save slot. 2. Add yes-no confirmation pop out when take out sprinklers on farm ground. It has been an upset when tab them incidentally.

Love Harvest Moon games, but theres a few problems with this one. First, time goes way too fast. Second, upgraded tools dont do big areas all at once like past games, its now one at a time, plot by plot. Third, cant ride your horse through town. If they fix those 3 things, I'd give it 5 stars. 4th thing. Can't sell animals to make room for something else. Also fishing and mining are so difficult to fit into a day. Game would be 10x more enjoyable if it was slower.

Title: The last Happiness Jar won’t close Review: I really love this game and have completed everything — all tasks, all villager notes in Alba Town, and even reached maximum levels for crops, fish, and animals. They fixed the crashing issue. It's a solid game, a full-blown HM experience from what I can tell so far (nearing end of chapter 3). I docked two stars though. One is because the character designs are quite generic looking and a lot are recycled from past games. No facial hair marriage candidates yet again. Update: they added controller support so I gave a star back. also, despite somewhat bland designs, the character writing is good, and I had trouble choosing who to marry because I loved all.

Almost there i guess

I had a lot of hype when this was announced, so I pre-oredered it and played it as soon as it came out. It started out okay but then I started getting more and more frustrated and what could've been a solid game. - Getting from point A to point B takes too long. It doesnt help that time goes by way too fast. Please the towns smaller or maximize utility by getting rid of unused empty space AND give items or vehicles or animals that can help you travel faster. The mayors office (?) has way too much unused space for it to be between the farm and the actual village. - Progress in the game takes too much time. What's worse is that it involves talking to NPCs that repeat lines everyday until you advance to the next chapter so I was just fueled by frustration to get to the next part but the time it took to harvest and sell and talk to robotic NPCs made it a frustrating chore - We dont know when stores close until we actually walk into the closed store and they verbally kick us out. Nothing takes me out of immersion more than having to jot down or look up info that shouldve been readily available in-game. - The villagers are one-dimensional. Feels like they dont do much except want items from you. It'd be nice if they had cutscenes with other villagers that didnt rely on the player's input just to immerse and sell the idea that these people live their own lives. If I didnt talk to any of these people, their presence in the village would have barely been felt. - Even people that visit the town dont do anything but stand in one spot - The romanceables are also pretty boring - I played for maybe a month and so far there hadnt been a fantasy element the older games had with nature sprites and the like. The happiness/stardust mechanic feels nothing more like UI so you know how much progress you made as opposed to be something you can actually interact with that affects the village. I think the Harvest Moon franchise should learn from its competitors—the games that were actually inspired by the OG games—all of which have solutions to my points above that have become staples in almost any farming sim copy. Some of which were available in the original harvest moon games. Overall it feels like this game was bare bones that made me feel like this game was just made to cash in on the Harvest Moon nostalgia. I hope I'm wrong cause id hate to think that the team behind this would use their creativity and skills for no heart, all profit.

I’m not sure how other players feel, but for me, the game is fun. However, some things feel missing. There are no rivals in the romance part, and no festivals in the first year because you have to build everything first. Also, the souvenir store and Alba Park don’t seem to have clear purposes. The horse can only be used on the farm—so what’s the point? I hope future updates make the game better and more interesting.

I’m really enjoying this game! I’ve spent a ton of time playing Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life and other games from this developer, and this one definitely lives up to the fun. So far, I haven’t run into any glitches. For those concerned about saving only at your house—that’s been fixed! You can now save from the settings tab, which is super convenient. I recommend exploring the settings, too—there are lots of options to customize the game to your liking. I’ll update my review as I play more, but for now, it’s been a great experience!

Love it so far and looks and runs well. I disagree with purple complaining about controls, tap is ideal for a mobile device. My only gripe is why on earth is there no manual save on a mobile game. If you don’t have time to go to bed you are f’ed for that day.

Nostalgia

Makes me remember my Harvest Moon 64 and my Harvest Moon Tree of Tranquility. I loved those games❤️ My wishes for this version: more story, bigger barn or ability to sell animals rather than just letting them go, more things to waste in game money on, ability to ride the horse around the entire map, usefulness for the pets like maybe a holiday that involves them, and more recipes/other ways to discover recipes. Also the glitch that randomly closes out the app is going to make me lose my mind when I did a whole bunch of things and hadn’t saved before the glitch then I gotta do it all over 😫 save often.

Animal Bug

Good but not great

I’ve always loved the Harvest Moon games and had high hopes for this one but I set my standards too high. There are a lot of glitches with this game and I wish they would get fixed. I can’t complete my fishing collection because the game won’t allow me to fish after I reach level 85 in the min. When it’s feeding time for my barn animals, they keep getting stuck, almost like they are walking on air and I have to keep going in and out of the barn to fix the issue. I go to make feed but when I go back the next morning, it shows it’s finished but I have the same amount of feed as I had the day before. I water and fertilize my crops and go back the next day to find every field dead like I didn’t do anything to them the day before. It also takes way too much time to go anywhere on the map and you have horses but you can’t ride them anywhere but inside the pen or in the horse race.

I don't know if your gonna read this, or will give it a chance but I have a idea. Like for a dlc or a major update to continue the story After the chapter I was wondering if there's more but there's not. I like how we can continue farming and watching our child grow so I was like “I wish there's more story plot” So I was wondering if we can play as the CHILD. Aka the player child. I would love to play as our kid as we wall around and farm. Yk playing the games of the eye of the child And you guys can add more character or maybe expand the map. I have so many ideas my brain is gonna overflow😭 And maybe a live interest for the kid as well

Horse is useless

Love the game so far, but I’m deducting two stars because of how SLOW you move. Going to the mine takes hours (in-game time) and although you are able to get a horse, it’s completely useless because you can’t ride it outside your barn area.

Still boring still lackluster. This game was a scam of money.. Switch game is better then this mobile game & that has less ram then some of our iOS devices, The devs just made a lackluster poor game to make quick cash...so aggravated I bought this junk game. I won't ever buy another game from this dev now, lost my trust fully. There are other ways to try games if u got a Android 😒 No controller support. No decorating your house just turn on & off things in set determined spots. Small world. Lackluster design.. The fishing is just as bad as stardew if not worse... Stardew is cheaper u get a bigger house more decorating, bigger world better features then this 18$ overpriced lackluster game. Natsume just made a lackluster game do to the names fame, they knew they could get away with less. I won't buy another of there games they haven't changed. Stardew is on iOS it's cheaper get that not this lazy game.

It’s OK

I have finished the game and it’s ok to play. However, I didn’t meet too much surprise and fun in this version comparing to classic farming story game. To be emphasized, I always thought that the map is going to be expanded but it isn’t till the end. It’s an incomplete game. It makes me disappointed because it’s the most attractive. Maybe it needs plenty of favorable comments and income. Animals is always stuck when it is going to eat. Bugs should be solved. Horse should be ridden out of fense.

Great Game

This is a super fun game, but it has some glitches in the latest rollout that weren’t present before. One of them is fishing in the mine, I proceed like I am going to fish, but the buoy selection area doesn’t register and follow into being able to catch fish. Please fix. I’m unable to catch fish in the mine, or possibly select floors, but it has not been a very successful endeavor this play round.

Like it, wish I loved it!

I love the HM games. Glad to have this one on mobile but it’s glitchy. I occasionally fall off the map or freeze entirely while fishing. Sometimes this is resolved when midnight hits, but sometimes midnight comes and the day doesn’t end. Annoying. Also, the soil conditioner machine doesn’t work. Still enjoying gameplay for the most part, but wishing for a solve.

So frustrating

I play a lot of games and rarely write reviews. I’m writing this review because this game is not worth $17.99. Be sure to save your game after every day because I played for hours… 9 days and the game crashed and i lost everything. I will not be playing this game any longer. Don’t charge $17.99 if your game is going to crash. Or it should at least automatically save. The game is also very slow.

Great game

I’ve been playing for a couple hours and I haven’t experienced any glitches or issues. It’s very cute and there’s a ton to do as the game progresses. If you can get past the toxic Harvest Moon / Story of Seasons players you’ll find a great sim life farming game. Controls are easy to use- you just tap. I like that you can choose a spot on the map and your player goes there on their own. Overall a great game.

Bugs everywhere to the point that its annoying

Please fix the bugs. Animals are always getting stuck when trying to eat. Character always getting stuck in the mining cave and its a complete waste of time cause you either gottah wait to faint or restart your save cause you literally can’t move sometimes when descending down the caves. One would think that this game was refined before releasing to the public

Best Harvest Moon - EVER!

I’m not sure why this doesn’t have a better rating. It’s really a great game. I have all of them and this is my favorite. It runs perfect on my iPad Pro. There is a lot of content once you get into the story a bit. Decorating, farming, festivals, marriage, children, and I haven’t even finished my first year yet. There are some unique features that I’ve never seen in a HM game. I love it! Great job!

Fun Game

First off, to those who whine no controller support, it’s a mobile game. And it even says that in the description that it has no controller support so it’s on you for buying it. It’s a mobile game, not a console game. They don’t have to add it. Second, while there are some issues that I’m sure will be worked on…. It’s a fun mobile game to play. I’m pretty far in now. I usually play at bedtime for an hour as it makes me sleepy. Or I play on my work breaks, or while waiting for an appointment. Growing crops is fun and I enjoy playing it. Price for it I felt was a bit steep ($20 with tax) but since I feel I have received my moneys worth in gaming I feel satisfied. Although I wish they’d add support for Apple Pencil. (Because it’s a mobile game and Apple Pencil is for iPad which runs mobile games.)

Good but could be better!

I had doubts during early game because it seemed unfinished. However, the more I play, the more I actually enjoyed it! Doing quests to increase stamina, unlock places/events, unlock new tools/seeds etc. are very nice. It keeps me going and entertained. I am now in fall of the 1st year. I just hope glitches will be patched especially the fishing game. There is a glitch where I would teleport out of nowhere and can't even go home until I pass out. Another thing, I hope that the horse will be rideable to the map not just in the farm. It'll make traveling to places faster. Also, when the livestock in the barn are in a way, it gets super annoying and time consuming. Last is moving especially inside the cave. It's so difficult to avoid rocks. I think it'll be better if walking and actually using tools has different controls. Controller support, and pen support will be great. Not sure if this game will get updates tho since I heard it's already finished. But overall, give it a chance and you'll probably like it too!
