Heroes of History: Epic Empire

The ongoing Ithaca is an absolute disaster. Players on strike, the developer rather arrogantly refuses to listen to us! Edit: nice to see the dev replying with a copy/paste to every 1* review. I've player well over a year, but they have never actually done anything to fix what the player base complain about. Instead, the common reply in the official channels is that the rewards aren't meant to be reachable unless you pay us more time. As it stands, paying 50-100€ a month is not enough.

I've played this game religiously for almost a year. Every update is under-tested but the current Ithaca Allied Culture event is straight up theft. You need to achieve a certain level of progress for a powerful reward and it's literally impossible unless you drop HUNDREDS of $$$. Get it together Inno. You're losing paying customers in droves.

omg the Ithaca event is horrible and not just hard, but impossible. I hit level 40 in every other city event but I've spent so much money and I'm not even close to making it. level 20 first day, level 25: second day and I won't make level 30 today. The game developers happily take your money and laugh at you for trying!

Has got to be the worst pricing I have ever come across in a pay to win game. absolutely atrocious value for money. Ridiculous amounts of bugs and issues, though they are remedied quickly once reported. Communication is awful, main communication comes from a single discord mod, the game has way too many issues for that one person to handle feedback of. Developers are rude, standoffish about issues and blame the players. The last event, Ithica, has been a nightmare. Don't waste your time.

The ongoing Ithaca event completely fails. Players on strike! Edit: Dev responded with "the next Ithaca run will be fixed". How about ALL future allied culture releases will be fully play tested before release, and we won't rip off all of our loyal players? Rubbish.

Unfortunately the game direction at time of Scylla / Ithaka is just too greedy and not considerate of the players. The game needs the players, not the other way around. Making odysseus awakening at a reasonable difficulty / investment will not kill the game economy. Everyone that wants him will still need to buy the starter pack. But to expect people to buy pack + thousands of gems on lux buildings is just insane. On top of bugs which would be easily caught in testing, without any compensation.

So... In usual Inno fashion, they released a new event (Ithaca) with no testing and it's a complete failure. The previous event (Ancient Egypt), it was possible with hard work/grinding to hit 40 for reward. The new event (Ithaca) is mathematically impossible to complete and riddled with bugs. As a person who has spent a lot of money on this game, this kind of garbage is what is going to drive their paying players away. High end rewards should be hard to get, but not IMPOSSIBLE.

Inno's greed knows no limits. If you are f2p don't even try this game you'll not be able to complete any event. They brought 2 events this summer that even whales can't reach a high enough point in it. Completely unbalanced, the game is clearly going in the wrong direction

This is a solid build and battle game. It's easy and fun to play. Added plus is that you get to play with historical figures. If the game allowed us more control and interaction with each of the heroes as in a fps pvp or a battle arena type style. Where we can cast our abilities ourselves and see the results up close, then it would be a 5 star game.

I mean, its not bad, if you have the time to come back every couple of hours to collect everything. Like most games of this type, it starts off fast paced but after a short time, you cannot do anything unless you are prepared to pay to play. I get they need to make money, but it makes it a lot less fun and for me, less inclined to keep playing.

Eh, it's fine. It's basically just an asset flip of Inno's other game Rise of Cultures, which is honestly kind of lame. But it does have the extra gacha-style hero mechanic, so I get how they would appeal to different audiences. If you've ever been playing a city builder and thought "what if this was more like Raid: Shadow Legends," this might be the game for you.

when I was playing it i got stuck at leveling up your heroes screen with Leonidas telling me to open the hero overview but there is no way to do so edit: uninstalling and reinstalling fixed it.

I don't know how to do a 4.5 but I fell like this game is 4.5/5, just to put that out there. Heroes of history is a pretty fun game with one downside: micro-transactions, same deal with almost every game. Heroes of history has Gems that you can use to speed everything up, and for real world dollars you can buy the gems. The game opens to the store to buy gems, which you can leave but don't miss click. 5/5 Story, 2/5 Micro-transactions, 5/5 gameplay 5/5 community

events are fast paced, extremely hard to grind any hero, resources or anything without poring thousands each week. irregular size and shape of buildings make it harder to progression, all resources reset despite having to use $$ on there packs very shady. this game is dying as greedy CS keep finding ways to increase prices and give less of everything. like most games in decline. great art, history. heroes use 4 map advances, dungeons grinding, etc and meta are locked.
