After updating you may be logged out of your MLB The Show Mobile account. If this occurs, you may need to play through the onboarding again before being able to sign back in to restore progress. Was really excited to play this game but the game won’t even let me sign up. I click create account and nothing happens. Tried deleting and reinstalling, that’s how much I wanted to try the game but to no luck. Then I’m like, let me reach out to support… no reply. And why can’t you sign up for the mobile account through the web?? It’s a crazy decision to release such a bugged login. Was this not tested?

When I saw this come out I was so excited to try it out. So far I absolutely love it, it is very close to the actual game on console. Only thing is it is way different gameplay it’s a lot faster pace but it’s still great. I have noticed it freezes quit often which should be fixed in the future but so far awesome game

I love the gameplay and the graphics and the diamond dynasty feel. However I was forced to delete it due to the amount the storage it requires to play. If yall can figure out how to make the game take up less storage it would be probably the best mobile game.

I’m not even a massive baseball fan, but I love the game. Having a few issues right now-My daily moments aren’t showing up; I’ll open the app after the daily timer and my daily login gift will be there, but I’ll go to do my daily moments and they just don’t show up as if I’ve already done them for the day(I haven’t). 2nd complaint I can’t leave the app whatsoever if I’m in a game(even against NPC’s where it should be offline) or it makes me automatically lose, I was playing the championship and it auto lost my game for me because I got a phone call, it also does the same thing if I lose WiFi/service which I think is stupid as hell. I know it’s just a game, but it’s pretty annoying when thinking about how many games I lost where I was up 5+ points and had the win locked in, and then BOOM nah you lose. Good game overall, but I’d like to be able to play my daily moments as well as Season without having to worry about a stupid problem like that.

Best mobile MLB game out there. Unfortunately, a ton of glitches. For example, after reaching base with a batter, I’ll go to steal only to find out that the game has changed the runner to somebody else. Just now, I selected a batter for a specific situation and ended up in the at bat with a completely different player. Also, I think I’ve lost probably 5+ season games while ahead because the game froze in between at bats. Get it together.

The game overall is pretty fun. The UI is pretty sluggish and oftentimes the game play will come to a snails crawl and lag out. The layout is relatively easy to command but again, it needs some optimization to make it more fluid. Warning: When playing (even not head-to-head), do NOT switch apps. More than likely, you will get disconnected and it counts as an auto-loss. This is including playing against bots.

Nothing like playing through a moment challenge, getting the correct boxes checked, just to have to be told you failed the challenge and have to restart because some bug breaks the game. Maybe once these bugs, of which there seems to be a lot, are fixed I will retry this game. Until then it’s hard to pick back up. Update: Now, in Season play, the game is logging losses after clear wins. Just finished a game 6-0, somehow that’s a loss. The one before it 4-1, loss. It is making certain game modes unplayable. Another update: The game is very much pay to win it seems. Also, the pitching mechanic is trash. The green, good pitch, portion of meter is pointless. Every pitch has to be perfect and even then the pitch can be a bit wild. There is no noticeable difference between good and bad. Now on to the biggest issue I am noticing, when in season mode, it seems that how well you hit or pitch is based more on RNG than card level and timing. I can have a game where I am hitting nonstop against players that are 80+ yet when I am up against a team of 60s I can’t seem to get a single hit, and they tend to always have the upper hand.

I would like to play at my Home Ballpark instead of going to every other stadium every time you start a season. Overall 9/10 great game I’m glad we have a better realistic MLB game. Started playing as soon as it was released game was working fine super fun and competitive couple bugs but it was a newly released game so I didn’t mind figured it would be fixed eventually but all of a sudden once the June season started I got to level ten and after that the game wouldn’t load at all I was able to collect the daily login reward but that was all it would say I would load into a H2H game but wouldn’t load me in and just say a server error or couldn’t load game crash and it would be like that for moments or even seasons I can’t even play the game even after the latest patch still won’t work

Focuses on collecting cards and playing the game using the stats of the card you collected. No franchise mode No Road to the Show. They literally chose the most money grabbing version of the game here, which is an off suit of destiny. Would not recommend unless you enjoy collecting cards and playing with the stats of those cards in a striped down, animated tap and release game.

I do think that this is a very good game overall, the one thing is I would like to not just have head to head mode matchups but actual games where you can play against people full 9 innings, even if it is just 3 innings, just a regular game of baseball would make it so much better also getting to play against friends.

I just want to play a baseball game. Not have to worry with cards and momentum etc. Just set lineups and go. Downloaded the game for a road trip and it worked decently well aside from randomly losing connection during a season game which resulted in an instant loss even if you’re in the lead. I don’t h destined why there isn’t a feature that pauses the game when you lose connection but I guess the devs aren’t good enough for that. Really writing this because I got back from my trip and decided to play a bit this morning when in back to back seasons games I hit singles, with Brian Dozier and Griffey Jr, both times I was told to choose my next batter and my baserunner disappeared and I was given another out. Seems like they had a good thing going and the update they released just breaks the game. Good luck

As someone who has played mobile baseball games since 9 innings 2013, I must say this is the worst mobile baseball game I’ve ever played. Having to change out a batter and pitcher every single at bat is beyond boring and stupid. Not to mention every single thing you click on takes forever to load, and the graphics are from 2005. Deleted the game after a day, back to baseball 9 I go. This sucked.

The big things holding this app back: - Can’t multi task (can’t open another app or the game disconnects and you get an automatic L) - bugs, glitches, freezes, crashes and other inconsistencies (I think that they will fix more over time) - hiding areas behind “traveling” so I don’t have enough airplanes to play. I get it, I can pay stubs to fast forward the progress, but essentially you’re charging us to get access to the app in my opinion because it seems like it’s a paywall to progress. Just give us the challenges and lets us complete them.

Having to constantly be connected to the servers for Seasons and Moments is super annoying. Just suspending the app and “losing” a game I was up 10-1 just because I got a text or got busy has to be the stupidest way a mobile game could function. H2H should be the only time to have to be constantly connected because you’re actually playing against other players. Fix that and it’s a 5 star game

This is the dumbest feature ever. You could be on roll with your at bat and have to quit because you run out of the privilege to play (or as it’s called “momentum”). What a terrible concept. The beginning of this game is so frustrating I just uninstalled it. The way you’re just forced to do a tutorial run of everything and it takes forever before you actually get to play the game and not just this constant “you need to complete this before you can process to the next thing we force you to complete before actually playing the game.” Absolutely miserable experience for someone who has been playing the MLB The Show franchise since 2008. Was hoping this was finally a nice mobile version with a solid Road to The Show mode. Just another absolute cringe card collecting “freemium” sports game like all the others on the App Store.

Great game. Will be the best mobile game since prime madden mobile if they fix the bugs issue. Season games freezing up way too often causing you to loose. Theres no way to exit and save games. They also need to add head to head vs friends.

And how is Christopher Sanchez still a gold. These players are both diamonds on the consol MLB the show. But other than that pretty fun game.

The UI is pretty bad and dated. It doesn’t feel snappy at all either. Everything feels delayed and the popup overlays are really annoying. Head 2 head is not worth doing as they never finish. Always stuck waiting for opponents. They made it pretty confusing for people to understand that it’s best of 3 and to continue. The stubs price and price for packs are ridiculously high. Premium pass is also stupid high for what you get. Game needs some serious changes and updates.

Overall this game is very detailed and would be fun to play if it would stop lagging. I love to play sports games on tablet/ipad so it would be great if the display would be able to fit my whole screen. After every pitch whether on offense or defense there is an annoying lag that can last up to a minute. This makes it very hard to hit when on offense and can lead to getting struck out just because of the lag. Please fix the way the game runs and it will be way better.

The game is fun but it is filled with bugs. Even after the latest update I still don’t receive rewards when an opponent doesn’t finish a game. On top of this they should add a save & exit feature or an auto save. I have been disconnected from multiple games head to head and seasons and it counts as a forfeit on my part no matter what the score was. Other than this the game is entertaining.

The chief thing this game is missing right now is a save feature, especially for seasons and maybe h2h. Obviously if I stop playing it will disconnect; sometimes I want to start a game but know I have to be with family or I have to do something important and I prefer to not finish a game or cannot. The gameplay is fun, engaging, and looks fantastic. The main issue plaguing the game is connectivity. If you log out of the game for more than two seconds to answer a phone call or text, you will disconnect from the servers, and will lose the game you are currently playing. With this being a mobile game, I would like to be able to have the ability to answer a text without the fear of losing my current progress.

It's improved since launch but it's still buggy in places. Some of my players' abilities aren't working right, like Rookie Corbin Burnes' ability to lower the momentum cost of my pitchers for the rest of the game—the discount only gets applied to some of my pitchers and only for the duration of the next at-bat. Now to my main problem: the difficulty. It's absurd after you leave "Easy." I don't know how many times they're going to pump out iterations of this game with the set-in-stone rule that you have to follow the script and work the count. It's absolutely unforgiving if you dare to swing within the first 2-3 pitches of an at-bat. You'll line out, fly out, or ground out every single time. Even if the first two pitches are meatballs served hot on a silver platter, you absolutely MUST take them, it's the script and the rules. This is a baseball GAME, not Standing Simulator 26. And don't even get me started on the arbitrary and inconsistent nature of throwing strikes. I can throw a mistake pitch that was never in the zone and get a swinging strike while the CPU instinctively knows to never swing on a perfect pitch that's the most surgical of margins outside. All that seems to matter is throwing a pitch with perfect timing, and being any degree of imperfect will get you rocked. One final complaint: the differences in the user experience between myself (who's plopped down cash for in-game goodies) and my gf (who's f2p so far) is... curious. It would be pretty shameful if Sony/San Diego Studios were giving silent bonuses or boosts to spenders. Now on to the positives: the graphics, sounds, and animations are all on-par with the console versions, mostly having been imported straight from the same files. The gameplay makes it the best mobile baseball game available—I haven't once regretted abandoning the 134.5 deck I built up over nearly ten years on MLB 9 Innings. And contrary to most people, I'm really enjoying the shuffled aspect and getting to choose which guy to play in each situation. It adds a strategic element that's just not present in other baseball games or even baseball in general and I think it's fun.

You need to fix the Seasons games. My progress section states I’ve played only 7 games. (6 wins, 1 Loss) and I haven’t advanced past this point. This is gatekeeping rewards. I’ve done 225 total activities here and feel stuck. Also, the paid Show Pass reward track is WAY too short. I’ve already hit level 40 a few days in. Maybe you can add in a repeat rewards wheel like in the console version of the game here because hitting a full stop feels lackluster and demotivating. For paid users, add in additional rewards that loop until the next Show Pass path is released. This is one of my main complaints. Regarding Moments, when XP and/or trophies become useless to me because I have capped out the need for both and completed all activities that use these rewards, what is the point of continuing to grind Moments? Why not replace those rewards with PXP, in game boosts, or Packs? This is another area of the game that feels underwhelming once you complete everything. As for Head 2 Head, why allow players who play one game and then remain idle for 24 hours to be eligible for anything? I’ve been stuck having to forfeit games just to keep playing. This is especially bad when a player stays idle for 24 hours and the game is a 30 trophy game needed to progress. This area of the game needs some attention. Lastly, PLEASE add the ability to create custom uniforms, logos, team branding like in the console version of the game. I want to feel like my team is MY team. It would also be nice to be able to equip bats, gloves, cleats, etc to my players. I gave my review 5 stars because I really enjoy this game but it certainly needs a lot of new features, fixes and so on. Hopefully you guys can make that happen.

Graphics and gameplay are fantastic. I don’t understand the point of the momentum meter or whatever that is. You can act on the screen if all your guys are “nerfed”. Glitches making me lose momentum and have to quit the game. Doesn’t add value in my opinion and actually takes away from the game. And I don’t understand why you can’t straight up play a regular game…forget a regular season gameplay. Also, why am I always the away team? These few items are incredibly frustrating but key to the game and player experience. I think until these are resolved I may stick MLB 9 innings rivals. I honestly love this game, but there are a couple annoying bugs/features. First of all, in season mode and the head to head thing when you leave the app for even one second, it counts it as a loss. For example my players that are supposed to cost less momentum during the games because they are upgraded still cost 6 and not 3 like their ability says. Please fix the glitch giving an automatic loss it should just reset the game because I’m in season mode and not playing against a real person or at least save the game when it glitches and forces me to quit I would also like more free packs or ways to obtain more free packs because this game is definitely going to be pay to win or pay to have a good team. I’m relatively new to baseball and the bugs makes it hard to enjoy the game. I enjoy the music and gameplay I just want the menu and UI to be responsive and snappy. This is a great time killer. It makes the game I already play a ton on my consoles a great arcade hand-held experience. However, there are a TON of bugs. One, for example, is that for some moments when it says “don’t give up a run” and you give up only a hit WITHOUT giving up a run, it fails you the moment. There are also some bugs where the character models don’t add up to who you selected. For example on that one, there was an instance where I selected Nolan Arenado for an at bat but the model was Yordan Alvarez. One last one I notice is that there are some freezing moments in-game. No other game buffers on my device, and I have perfect internet connection. If the bugs get fixed and some overall gameplay gets tidied up, this would be a much better experience.

Game is ok, when it performs well. There are bugs. You will get lag, I beat a stage and no rewards, the rewards on the pass I mean a lot of them you get one card which is only a 60 or 70 ovr in a pack when you clear reward stages not even an 80 which seems a slap in the face. I have only 2 diamonds so far for in a mobile is ok. I lot of repeats. There will be glitches where screen goes purple then you can’t see and have to restart. To charge MLB console price for the stubs is ridiculous! The pass should be 5.99. It’s not worth 10.99 with all the lag which is most important part of baseball! I don’t think I’ll be renewing my pass until they update the rewards or make it better cause quite frankly it’s garbage.

Just horrible this was released before being ready. I get connection issues and guess what, you lose. The game doesn’t save your progress, what inning you are in, etc. instead you get a loss which is very frustrating. Especially when you are ahead or tied, why would I get a loss? So many bugs from the wrong batter batting, connection errors, app closing etc. just a complete mess. Was this not tested? Or do the developers just not care and wanted some quick $$$. Can’t see anyone supporting this right now with how it plays.

Doesn’t matter if I throw a ball down the middle or outside, they have an equal chance of hitting the ball. Gameplay feels predetermined regardless of where I locate the ball, hitting feels slightly better but not great. Good cards are unrealistically hard to get. And I’ll cap the review off with Bugs are everywhere, I’ll lose a game because nothing loads and I’ll close the game, automatic loss…. Head to head is a joke, I’ll play 5 games, win the first game and then my opponent just won’t play and after 24 hours it resets with no punishment or forced L to them despite them loving to give you losses when their garbage game goes black repeatedly.

In Seasons, the game will tell you that you loss after you win and only give you 25 subs. You should be rewarded 400. I recently did a season’s activity that was supposed to give me 5k subs because I had the best cards for that specific activity. I waited an hour and got 375 again the minimum amount of subs. Gameplay on specific players and animations are questionable. I understand it’s a mobile game but sometimes whenever you pick a card the right player doesn’t show up. After you hit a no doubt, your player will turn into someone different. The animations for doubts are terrible. Ronald Acuna hugs himself around the base pads sometimes. Aaron Judge turns into Kyle Schwarber almost everytime I hit a homerun with him.

I like that they added this game to mobile, and I also like playing it. But my biggest issue with the game is that you have to play the whole game in season mode. Like if you get disconnected and/or need to turn it off for personal reasons, you automatically get the loss. In an “offline mode” gameplay, you should be able to save progress in a game.

Very buggy, and there isn’t a whole lot of things to do. You can’t play home games, whenever I lose my pitcher celebrates for some reason, no road to the show, no exhibition mode, no live head to head, instead you get turn-based mini games, and some of them are horrible. I won two games in seasons mode, but it decided to count them as losses even though both games I won by 10. Also the soundtrack is terrible

Love the Show, I’m an MLB The Show console streamer and I was very excited for the mobile game so I could play even more. This is bad. Moments where foul balls cost you the last ten minutes of playtime? This was definitely rushed to the market and went through little QA (or the used Ai). Cheap app, truly game breaking bugs. Remove the App Store and remake from the ground up. The controls are good, but the playability is near zero. The 5 star ratings are from The Show followers that either didn’t even play the app/game or just want to see it worked on. IMO this needs a rework.

Pretty pumped for this game as I’m a big fan of the console version. This has a ton of promise but is glitchy right now. Runners disappearing off base or changing to a different player, freezes that negate rewards, earned progression not logging and H2H is a 50/50 shot it won’t register your score and just give a win to the opponent. Honestly it’s so weird and I don’t know why it happens, but the batting is completely different when you play games that actually matter towards your season/team vs games that are just for packs or fun. In games that are unimportant to the season/team I can hit home run after home run with very few infield hits but in games that matter to the season/team I can’t hit anything but infield hits and they always beat you to first base, ALWAYS! Any infield hit no matter where is 100% always an out! It feels almost like my season is preprogrammed to play out a certain way regardless of my performance (hit/pitch/strike/miss), again it feels rigged.

I love MLB the show and was really looking forward to this. But it is kinda just not baseball. I want to essentially play franchise mode and that's not this. There's a lot of potential here. The gameplay is solid and a great way to do the mechanics. However, every pitch is laggy to the point there's no chance I can time a swing. Half the at bats I have I'm not even sure where the ball actually was but contact is made. Maybe in time I'll give it another shot. But in its current state I simply can't. Sidenote: I was really hoping this would be a way to connect the console account to the mobile one so I can play actual MLB the show at work.

Disappointing. Batting is a terrible experience. If you get disconnected for any reason, you can not continue a season game. You just lose. A game, that you play in solo mode, can not be continued if you lose internet connection. Can’t respond to a text and come back, it just goes down as a loss. Massive time waster. I have display settings set to the lowest possible. Gameplay is choppy at best when it does not freeze. Freezes at any point in time mid game and stops which causes automatic forfeit. Not to mention most of the fun of the show is Road to the show which isn’t in the game.

Very buggy, and there isn’t a whole lot of things to do. You can’t play home games, whenever I lose my pitcher celebrates for some reason, no road to the show, no exhibition mode, no live head to head, instead you get turn-based mini games, and some of them are horrible. Also the soundtrack is terrible

The main menu is extremely slow, janky, and glitchy and has too many animations that slow down whatever you’re trying to do. It also often lags out and cuts to black that makes me have to restart the app. Player models glitch very often, as for example I’ll select Gerrit Cole to pitch but I’ll see a lefty pitching on the mound and throwing from the left side, but it treats gameplay as if Cole was in, and it gets very confusing. The same situation happens with batting too; select a righty, it shows a lefty batting, but it treats it as the righty you selected. Also in some H2H situations the runners on base don’t display during pitcher selection. One time when a game first started it showed bases empty, but once I chose my pitcher now the bases are loaded and I wish I chose a better pitcher. Also, please give the player more control over baserunning, the auto decisions out of our control are absolutely terrible and they make the worst sends ever and I lose so many runs because of it.

Listen. Dont get me wrong. I love mlb the show. But there are a couple problems i have with this game. #1 i hate how pay to win the game is. Its exactly like the game on ps5 xbox and the switch. My other problem is i wish it would be available on ipad. That would invite a lot more players.

TLDR in title. The game is good. Honestly it’s fun. It’s decently rewarding. Maybe could be nicer with that but overall it’s well made. However, I have to really gripe and bite down hard on a few things. I’m hoping this review is read and some of what I’m going to list is added. First, we need to fix the bugs, the amount of times I’ve been at 1 out man on second, then hit a grounder, man advances to third, out at first for 2 outs, only to choose my next batter and that man on third disappears, it’s 2 outs… why? Second, the cards with abilities need to be worded better to clarify who is receiving the buff or nerf. Maybe a visual indicator on the viewed matchup. This happens with about 50% of the cards with abilities already, so maybe it’s planned. Also I feel like any card above 75 should have an ability, even a simple one with requirements like “This batter gains 5 power with a man on second.” At least then it feels more card like to us card game lovers. Third, I’d enjoy the ability to challenge pitches but it’s appears as though you have a definitive ump system. I suppose that’s fine with its arcade like feel. Fourth, playing against friends, adding friends would be nice. Maybe a Team system like guilds? Fifth, allow for more planes, maybe a IAP that is $10 for 3 extra permanent planes.

I don’t know why I expected anything else.. trying to start a “season” has you time locked looking for activities or game to play. You can pay to speed it up.. or wait. This is after the long loading times which is becoming clear to me was intentional in order to urge players to pay to speed up when you can. If you thinking you’re going to play a traditional baseball game, you won’t find it in this money grab. Trying to move players around takes forever, just so many things wrong. It’s truly a shame. They won’t update graphics on console or any other part that people have been asking for, and now they decided they need a live service game to take more money from players. Do yourself a favor, download MLB 9innings Rivals (modern) or the OG MLB 9innings (traditional). Both are better in every way compared to The Show.

Truthfully on launch obviously bare bones its a money grab and too buggy to try to play any game modes, but the potential is there. Only if SDS cares enough to do something to fix it all and give a better gameplay than a vertical tap game and other than work my wallet on a corner they could honestly have a great and simple mobile game. A good example is perfect inning, obviously no way to 1:1 it but the ideas are all there just need to make it the show somehow instead of a vertical throw away game.

After playing MLB 9 Innings for 9.5 years, I was bored stiff from all the simulating and wanted a baseball game with enjoyable manual gameplay. SDS has provided exactly that, but nothing else. This game is already falling into the same pitfalls as every console iteration of The Show—like the intentionally-unbalanced RNG. Perfect hits straight to fielders. Not being able to strike out opponent batters no matter what you do. Watching the CPU gift itself hit after hit after hit. Seeing that a 71 ovr pitcher somehow gets an advantage over your 89 ovr batter. And I really thought I'd seen the worst of microtransactions out of Com2üs but holy dogwater, this game is designed for nobody but the whales. I was really looking forward to this game, thinking maybe SDS wouldn't be their normal sadistic selves with how they code their games but nope, it's already looking like this one's going on the pile of other SDS "games" that fail to remember that games are supposed to be fun. Not self-inflicted mental anguish pushed along by failure generators. Imagine an RPG that results in instant death if you don't roll a 20. That's not a game and... neither is this. You guys just still don't get it. I don't expect a cakewalk but I do expect better after all these years.

The game will disconnect you while you are winning 6-0 and then count it as a loss it has now happened 7 times. It is sad because when the game works it is a blast but it is a frustrating mess honestly unplayable due to the disconnects.
