Crimsonland is pure arcade violence fast, addictive and endlessly replayable. Both deserve to be called masterpieces, and honestly, both easily belong in the Top 5 mobile games of all time. Crimsonland’s only drawback is its high mobile price but quality like this rarely feels disposable.

Wow, I can't believe I slept on this game for soo many years, but not anymore. If there's ever a sequel, I'll instantly buy it. This style of developer content and the way games were made years ago, has been lost to recent money grabbing trends(even cloning), this ain't that. It feels so good to play a real game, with a fantastic gameplay loop, a full game experience, and packed to the max with content, that's what this is. Thank you for keeping this alive long enough for me to try it.

Replaying it on new phone after many years, still great fun, but it seems to get laggy when lots of stuff is happening on screen. I think I remember it running quite smooth on old phone, maybe compatibility issues? Unfortunately it's an older game so not sure if it will still get updates. Edit: They actually released an update for newer phones, good stuff.

Really awesome Cyberpunk genre top down shooter! Neon Chrome reminds me a lot of the game, "The Ascent" which I love playing on PC. It's not a mindless shooter and requires you to strategize a bit. Glad I stumbled across this gem of a game 👍

I like the game style and beautiful graphics and nice sounds. The upgrading is cool and also weapons and abilities are amazing. but honestly the only thing I have a complaint about is the weapon damage system. I feel personally that energy weapons should be the strongest over all conventional projectile weapons. I like the ap 1 predator but that small pistol should not overpower a plasma shotgun that shoots burst of metal disintegrating, tank ripping energy spheres realistically speaking.

Doesn't run well on my samsung Galaxy s10e. Which is a shame because the graphics aren't much more demanding than other games I play. Also, why no controller support? I love this game on ps4 and was really looking forward to using it with my new controller mount. Looks like I can't though. I'll give it 5 stars if controller support is added.

I wanted to like it more, but it really didn't scratch the rogue like itch for me. Weapon variety didn't really feel impactful, I usually found the same couple guns that did great fast each run. Abilities and perks felt lackluster. Beat the game pretty fast, and NG+ didn't really add much either. I like the devs but this game didn't leave an impact on me.

I found this game some years back during a sale on Xbox. Instantly fell in love, one of my favorite games ever, no lie. Best twin stick shooter I've ever played, has a KILLER soundtrack, awesome aesthetic, addicting gameplay, expansive upgrade systems, and plenty of secrets to find. TONS of replay value here, and it's on literally every system that exists. I now own it on PC, Xbox, and mobile, and plant to get it on switch soon too. 12/10, will ALWAYS recommend this game to anyone.

Nothing bad to say about this game. If your system isn't fast enough, you may want to turn off some of the special effects to keep game speed normal. Great music, super high replay value, and you can lose hours in the blink of an eye, and not realize it here. A Fun Distraction

This game has everything a simple mobile port needs. Easy controls, addictive gameplay loop, and a clear objective to guide you forward. Everything is randomized so no two runs are ever the same which keeps things fresh for awhile. And there is still enough complexity where you won’t turn your brain off completely since this game is still very challenging and you are guaranteed to die a dozen times before you get the grasp of things. Overall for the price I’d say it’s worth it and it has enough content to please my small brain :) Hope this helps or something I don’t really care, eat a bagel dipped in mustard or whatever.

Great Game with MFi Joystick support

Way better than I expected. Great game once you accept the idea of your character dying in order to improve next round. Easily worth the money. PS. This is more frantic than Space Marshals, and about on par with Halo for brainless enjoyment. I like all these games, but find Neon Chrome is the most addictive of them all.

Vintage resolution in 2018?

Game is unplayable, resolution very low on 3rd gen IPad Pro, NOT optimized for new devices, interesting that you can just plain lie and accept payment. Do not buy if you have a new device, just break out the sega genesis and hook it into an 80s projection screen tv and you’ll get same result.

Not full screen!

The game is truly fabulous, but the newest update doesn’t add support for the iPhone X. The game is not full screen. After reinstalling the game to see if the newest update Finally supported full screen on modern iPhones, I found that my progress was lost. Apparently they don’t utilize iCloud for game saves.

A comparison of three two stick shooting games.

I bought Neo Chrome, Space Marshall, and Xenowerk. So, let me compare these games. Generally they all have there own merits. They are all well polished, all have great graphics, all belong to top games league in App Store. But they all have some problems that make them not worth five stars. Neo Chrome and Xenowerk are both very repetitive after while, especially Xenowerk, every map is almost the same. Neo Chrome is little better, but not too much. For me, the biggest trouble is they both provide only few enemy types. There are only few robots and human in NC, and five or six type of aliens in XW. That is very disappointing. No matter how great the graphics are, how fancy those guns are, shooting same enemies again and again soon becomes very boring. Plus the random created but similar maps, make them even more boring. And in NC, the enemies’ AI is too low, most time it feels like you are shooting sitting ducks. XW’s enemies are much better. They are very aggressive. But still with only handful types, aggression couldn’t save the game. SM has, however, a clear storyline. It is less repetitive, less boring. But the trouble is the hero walks like 80-year-old man. The moment I saw that, I’ve already lost interest. It boasts strategies, but I fail to see any. It is just an old man tries to shoot other old men. In the end, I couldn’t finish any of these three games. But I’m not gonna say they are not worth the money. Only like most games in App Store, these games are still way behind those great PC games.

Fun game

Don’t listen to anyone but me because I am the only person qualified to objectively review this game and everyone else is wrong! Seriously, I enjoy this game. Good time waster, catchy music, and nice character customization. Just a little hard to see on an iPhone 8 plus screen. I reviewed this game based on experiences using a controller, so check out others on controls for touch screen since I don’t use them. I do feel I need to mention the Nimbus controller is correlated to some significant frame rate drops.

Solid game, decent port from console version

I'll try to keep this short. Just like the tag above says this app is a solid game and the port from the standard console/computer version is decent with enough changes to satisfy the various mobile versions on iOS that it'll potentially play on but without sacrificing much of the original gameplay. There are minor gripes with control but that just a problem with the modern conventions of twin-stick gaming on a mobile device. Besides, you can get a controller and play that way decently enough. So despite the game's learning curve (in which dying is more "when" and not "if" you'll get lose) and the somewhat bland and repetitive graphics, there is an addictive arcade-like quality to the game that sticks even past the end of the game. To the point where a old-fashioned score counter would fit in nicely. (No, the money counter doesn't count) Add that to mood fitting music for the Bladerunner-esque setting and you have a game that is not bad to have in your pocket for 5/10/30 minutes at a time. See some videos for a clearer picture if this is your kind of game however - it's not always very kind game. Old and new school players can appreciate some of this here.

FUN addition to the Top Down Military fps genre

I play iOS Halo & Xenowork, & I find this a VERY worthy addition to this growing & effective sub-genre of iOS gaming. I find Neon actually less repetitive than Xenowerk, a game whose graphics & gameplay I ❤️ deeply. The levels are really challenging, & the Bosses are really tough, in a fun challenging way. I'm early in, & I'm really impressed. I'm having as much fun with this as I had with iOS Halo, although with a LOT more neon.

Fun so far

I have only been playing this for a short time so far... But I am enjoying it. Decent controls with external controller. Wish they could be customized slightly to my liking tho. I enjoy the music, sound effects and graphics. It remains to be seen just how randomized the levels are, but so far I have seen a good variety. It seems the boss levels might be static in design but I'll have to play a lot more to verify that. I suspect it will take me some time to manage a full playthrough and if the levels do indeed show good randomization then it should be a worthy purchase the will bring hours of fun.

Get Xenowerk, Halo, or Space Marshals instead

Get Xenowerk, Space Marshals, Space Marshals 2, Halo Spartan Assault or Halo Spartan Strike instead. Like Neon Chrome, all five of those games are twin stick shooters, but all five of those games are vasty, vastly better in every way (fun, graphics, controls, setting, gameplay, enemy types, enemy variety, immersion, animations, solidity of combat, weapons, story (for Space Marshals 1 and 2)), presentation, and you can buy any three three of them for less than Neon Chrome costs all by itself. At 99 cents, Xenoworks is 10 times the game and ten times the fun Neon Chrome is, and it's 1/10th the cost. You can get both Halo games together for half the cost Neon Chrome is alone, and both are way, way better (the only thing the Halo games are missing is the ability to level up your character). I've played Xenowerk for hours and plan to play it more (it's a fantastic game that's an absolute steal for what they are charging); I've played Neon Chrome for about 30 minutes and had to force myself to keep playing after the first couple in the hope that it would get better (it didn't). Xenowerk, both Halo games and both Space Marshal games also support external controllers as well. All five games have great touchscreen controls that felt better to me than Neon Chrome, but all five are even better with an external controller. Neon Chrome should at least support MFI controllers.

Best mobile game I've ever played

This game has every element needed for a game to be entertaining. Not impossible, but difficult enough, an actual storyline, cool weapons, great gameplay and even a great soundtrack. Highly recommend buying this one, well worth the money. Very refreshing change of pace from all the "pay to play" games that have infected the mobile game market. If I had any complaint, and it's not even a complaint really since I figured it out rather quickly, there could be a better tutorial for the controls. Otherwise a five star game. Very well made.
