The icon for this versus the newer management sim is a little misleading, but this one really is the original game!! I never got to play it growing up home schooled, but now I can make up for it! Tons of fun even as an adult!! Thanks Distractible for letting me know it still exists!!

Just like the original in small form factor. Yes controls are tricky hunting and a few extra clicks needed for menu but that's all due to age of game. Take a moment to learn the controls and discover how fun this game really is!

Worked once, then error screens. Tried cleaing cache and data, doesnt work. tried uninstall, re-upload, didnt work. Hope this gets resolved. Really liked this and all the memories of the original floppy disk. I will try back in a couple days. Issue resolved, I was able to get back in and play. AND, the developer responded to let me know it was back up. changed to a 5 star for a amazing fast response.

was excited for this, and the first time I installed it, it won't let me click anything and then tells me I have no internet after about 30 seconds. second, third, and fourth reinstall gives me a 502 error immediately. very disappointed :(

It's good but one major problem, the save doesn't stay. Once you open a save, you must save again. If you are 2 hours into the game and get a call, you have wasted 2 hours. It will clear your progress. This is so bad it's worth 2 stars.

seems to have an adaptive situation where if things are going well it does ridiculous things to you so you can't win. you go have way through the game and then lose all your oxen making it impossible to win.

I don't like the keyboard set up, you could have done better, with updating tech on the game selections, not the graphics. The entry of the game selections, keep hitting space bar and screws up the store selection and choices thru out the game.

This is a very weak version of what an Oregon Trail game should be. With the power of phone technology these days, there really should be a much better game that does justice to the Oregon Trail. This one's not totally unenjoyable, that's why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1. It's just a weak effort. I can't believe anyone gave this 5 stars. They must be friends of the Developers.

Apparently doesn't work. When opened, attempts to download an update file, fails to connect to a server, then displays an error message. Edit: Despite the developer's comment on my review, there has been no change in behavior. in fact, having seen them make similar comments on other reviews, I've been attempting to run the game at least once a day since purchase. my experience has never changed - the game does not work and is fully unplayable

As someone who grew up playing this i thoroughly enjoy this game as does my teenager. She was excited when she saw it on my phone recently and detailed how they are playing it in school. This game is such an intricate part of so many of our childhoods, and having the ability to play it today is great.

Upon opening game, a green power icon appears in center of screen, and the MECC logo appears briefly, then the main menu, then the MECC logo, then the main menu, alternating back and forth endlessly. I am unable to press any buttons or enter any commands.

Used to play this version in the late 1980's. They had this game on the computers "for our students" at our elementary school where I worked. I worked with the learning challenged students. While the kids were at lunch, I'd take my lunch to the computer lab, and play. Oregon Trail was a challenge even for adults.

it's nice to get to play the original again because it was one of the only games on computer I have to have to play because my computer at my house was one of the original computers that the school had gotten for a computer lab but that was discontinued so the school had to sell them and they got passed around by many people in town and then my family got it and I played Oregon trail on it all the time I miss that and it's nice to be reminded of a nicer time in life
