OG Trail - Lets you play the classic Oregon Trail simulation game on Android
OG Trail - makes playing the classic Oregon Trail simulation possible and easy on Android devices. OG Trail is not the game itself and does not contain or require any ROM to play. OG Trail simply provides an interface to the publicly available Internet Archive posting of the streaming version of that game found here: https://archive.org/details/msdos_Oregon_Trail_The_1990 This requires internet to load, but does not use any data after that. Instructions for new users or testers: OG Trail lets you play an unmodified version of The Oregon Trail (TM) game. As such, you don't tap on the game itself to interact with it as the game wasn't made originally for touchscreens. Instead you use the onscreen keyboard or onscreen control pad to interact with the game. For example, when the game gives you a set of choices, you click the number on the keyboard or control pad that matches your choice and then hit the enter button. If the game give you a yes/no question, you can either type "y" or "yes" for affirmative and "n" or "no" for negative and then hit the enter button using the onscreen keyboard. Alternatively you can hit the check mark for affirmative or the x for negative on the onscreen control pad. This is a very weak version of what an Oregon Trail game should be. With the power of phone technology these days, there really should be a much better game that does justice to the Oregon Trail. This one's not totally unenjoyable, that's why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1. It's just a weak effort. I can't believe anyone gave this 5 stars. They must be friends of the Developers.

Apparently doesn't work. When opened, attempts to download an update file, fails to connect to a server, then displays an error message. Edit: Despite the developer's comment on my review, there has been no change in behavior. in fact, having seen them make similar comments on other reviews, I've been attempting to run the game at least once a day since purchase. my experience has never changed - the game does not work and is fully unplayable

it's fun to play, but it's not a port of the original game, it's a remake with more difficulty. I wish the name and description pf the app were more transparent about this.

As someone who grew up playing this i thoroughly enjoy this game as does my teenager. She was excited when she saw it on my phone recently and detailed how they are playing it in school. This game is such an intricate part of so many of our childhoods, and having the ability to play it today is great.

Upon opening game, a green power icon appears in center of screen, and the MECC logo appears briefly, then the main menu, then the MECC logo, then the main menu, alternating back and forth endlessly. I am unable to press any buttons or enter any commands.

The game does not save no matter how many attempts you make previous saved games will be deleted. The music plays a glitchy barely audio death rattle of what it should be if it even plays at all.

Used to play this version in the late 1980's. They had this game on the computers "for our students" at our elementary school where I worked. I worked with the learning challenged students. While the kids were at lunch, I'd take my lunch to the computer lab, and play. Oregon Trail was a challenge even for adults.

it's nice to get to play the original again because it was one of the only games on computer I have to have to play because my computer at my house was one of the original computers that the school had gotten for a computer lab but that was discontinued so the school had to sell them and they got passed around by many people in town and then my family got it and I played Oregon trail on it all the time I miss that and it's nice to be reminded of a nicer time in life
