This is the exact opposite of fun, in my opinion, but the game is very well-made and performs near flawlessly, even on my low-end Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 (it's not the A9+ model). It honestly performs better on the tablet than on my Switch. I feel like this deserves all 5 stars for that alone! Give it a try if you enjoy turn-based PVP. It's very easy to get started and the ranked matches are challenging enough to keep you occupied for a very long time.

Though the Pokémon selection is a somewhat limited and you tend to battle the same Pokémon, it doesn’t ever feel boring or dull. This is my second day playing so keeping an open mind.

You’re telling me I can’t play every single Pokémon? Nah just kidding. Though I do hope they add more Pokémon eventually. Such as the rest of the Pokémon that can mega evolve including Mewtwo, Pokémon with unique Z moves, the rest of the Pokémon that can Gigantamax, Pokémon with unique Tarastralizations, more Pokémon with regional forms like Rapidash, Wheezing and Eggxecutor, Omastar, Kabutops, Donphan, Ursaluna (maybe Bloodmoon Ursaluna too), Gothitelle, Poliwrath, Bellosom, the fossil fusion Pokémon or at least Dracozolt and Arctovish, Togekiss, Cyclizar, and paradox Pokemon or at least Great Tusk and Iron Moth. Oh, and I would like the ability to combine gimmicks together like Mega Gigintamax forms for the fully evolved Kanto starters and Gengar, and a G-Max Z move for Snorlax.

Use one of the six exact same teams that every other Trainer uses, or try to use your own favorite Pokémon and lose all hope. Simple. Either you simply follow the crowd, abandoning your own heart, or dare to attempt to prove your own ardency and get all-but scoffed at. For the love of all things that associate themselves with Almighty Sinnoh, when will we be able to enjoy competitive battling without cosplaying Copycats? I, an imposing Shiny Kingdra, shouldn’t be forced to feel like a Feebas when attempting to battle by myself. Why should I be forced to sit in the same room as that halitosis-loving cat or insult-loving gorilla to stop staring at my Trainer’s forlorn face he makes whenever he is to be defeated? Simply because they are the most powerful Pokémon, given a title my face writhes at—“Viable.” I know many other Pokémon who have received such a title, and I know them well. But what about the hundreds of Pokémon that didn’t? They’ve all but been thrown away as far as victory is concerned. I could practically swim within the tears of sorrow they generate daily. To the creators of my own world, I cry…why do you even bother to create new creatures for me to gaze at if you promptly treat them like worthless pieces of Trubbish excrement? What I wish for is simply a world free of the blasted term “viable”. A world in which each and every Pokémon is equal. And a world in which you don’t have to stare at a room of teams of the exact same species of Pokémon that stand under the title of “Champions”! And you look at such teams with expressions of glee, rather than the same sort of disdain I felt after my Trainer fed me a Poffin with a Weedle within it? Really Enjoyable, hoping for more features

This game most definitely satisfies the cravings of just wanting a classic battle with any pokemon you choose. They’ve got pretty much every mainstream and meta pokemon, and I have no complaints. The leveling feels very balanced, as you don’t just win constantly or lose constantly. It actually feels like a challenge and an achievement to get into the higher ranks, especially with how good some players are. Love the customization and the way you can quite literally build your own team out of your favorites. The game also doesn’t force you to spend money in order to enjoy it- unlike some other mobile supported titles. I’m just currently waiting and praying we get some more features. We already have mega evolution, but it’d be really cool to also have Z-moves, Dynamax, and Gigantamax. Can’t wait to see even more of my favorites come to the game as well. If you’re really wanting a classic, battling and fun experience where you can engineer and tinker your own team down to the stats- then this game is for you.

There’s no way to check a mega evolved pokemon’s ability before a match and you can only check the pokemon’s detailed info like what an ability does or what the moves do inside the the training page which can be inconvenient for new-comers.Otherwise the game is solid

I love having the option to play from my phone. As a Pokemon Go player, this makes Pokemon so much more enjoyable for me. I can transfer my Mons from Go into Home and boom they are good to go in Champions. I can’t afford a Switch 2 let alone a Switch, so being able to cross play with my friends from my phone while they’re on Switch is so cool. And even if you do have a Switch, im pretty sure you’re not taking it EVERYWHERE. I literally carry my phone everywhere and this game has become my daily game to play right along with Pokemon Go

Pokémon battle is a great strategy game on its own. Champions offers a way less time consuming way to start learning the game. It’s like an official VGC platform. As a mobile game, it does not require any micro transactions from you to enjoy it. Overall a 10/10 experience.

Critical hits happen way too often

Critical hits should be a miraculous rare event but instead it’s cheapened by how often they land. You try to set a good strategy and bam, that 12.5% chance of a critical lands. In my opinion, this is often and it’s frustrating and makes the game way too unpredictable to be a strategy game and more like another gambling game.

Good game, but many issues

I really like this game, but is had very many issues. For example, in a recent battle, I clicked a move, then waited for like 5 minutes (with no UI, proving that I had clicked a move) before being told: “The server did not receive your input, so a move was chosen for you.” Also, the cancel matchmaking button sometimes just says it’s canceling matchmaking for like a minute before saying an opponent was found. Also, more username filtering is needed so I don’t end up fighting someone named “KILL ARABS!”

It's a nice game but sometimes there is an error especially when you're in a ranked game. The system is saying that you are disconnected from the game even though your connection is strong. And also the pokemon box is limited to 50 pokemons, it needs to be extended or just add something in the shop that the players can buy to widen the space of their boxes in order for them to keep their recruited pokemons instead of returning them to the farm.

it's fun and easy to go. just straight up building teams and battle is great. the way you don't drop everything in the same time is a good strat. that way, pure new players can easily learn Pokemon battle without getting overwhelmed. please make sure in the future to input more items, Pokemons and unevolved forms to enable some strat like eviolite. because this advertised to be free to play, it is better to increase the max box size for f2p, make it 80 or 100 w/ simple quests. I like it so far.

Everything is good, the battle is amazing. However, please add more slot for pokemon box rather than buying it through top up, 50 pokemon is not enough for a pokemon fans. Then, please add more slot for team build, it is very annoying to change pokemon team and item again to create and try new team. Update: There is a cheater Vanilluxe in single battle without No Guard ability who can use sheer cold 3 times in a row.

Got excited when released in mobile and got to Masterball tier 4 in 2 weeks. However I noticed some fights are rigged. I had a Garchomp empowered with swords dance, plus a life orb. I then proceed to use a (STAB) Earthquake and it was able to survive with 4% of HP. I already have the disadvantage of not playing the Generations 6 and above and I get this.

i thought this gonna be a predatory p2w game since its an genuine Pokemon game made by Nintendo and Gamefreak itself. But it's in fact very generous and f2p friendly. I'm actually worried how it'll make money on how generous it is. The gameplay is the closest you can get from a console games minus the boring adventure part. PvP is all that matters. So this is not for cowards who avoid fighting real people.

1st off please add some type of single mode where u can practice ur teams against cpu and have fun if u need a break from competitive. also not worth if ur free to play. u barely have any box spaces and whats fun about this game is building different creative teams. u cant do that with such little box space u have to pay for a monthly membership if u want to have multiple team builds. game gets boring after using the same 2 team builds..

Huge Pokémon fan here, and I love the game. But I'm getting so annoyed during team selection. Right after choosing my team and locking in an opponent, the game errors out and restarts before the match even starts. Sometimes I try to force my way back in, but other times it just auto-picks for me. How am I supposed to rank up? Anyone else experiencing this after the last update? It’s so frustrating, please fix this! I'll change my rating to 5stars if it fixed. Thanks!

this is the stalest pokemon game I've ever played. creativity and building a unique team is useless when everyone runs mega Charizard Y and mega floette with whimsicott and garchamp because there are zero downsides to doing this. so many cool unique pokemon that just become useless, kinda like how regular comp pokemon is! with how RNG based the game is too, you'll hate it in no time unless you're extremely boring and spam the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over

Great gameplay and fair progression overall. My only disappointment is the Box space. Free players are permanently capped at just 50 Box slots, forcing us to release Pokémon instead of collecting and experimenting with teams. Storage feels like a basic feature that shouldn't be paywalled. Please let us earn additional Box space using VP or another in-game progression system. Everything else is good, but this change would make the game much more free-to-play friendly.

O jogo é bastante divertido, é como jogar showdown, porem sem todos os itens e todos os poke, mas ainda é divertido e "mais acessível" pro pessoal que gosta de console, no caso nintendo switch, ou pro pessoal que vive jogando no emulador e quer jogar com o proprio time nas casuais ou nas rankeds pra zoar, aqui a nintendo acertou, só falta colocar mais pokemon no game e as outras mecanicas como terastal, z-move e gigantamax/dynamax. fora isso, joguem, vale a pena!

Something is missing

It’s quite fun but feels unfinished. There’s no replay features and the update also felt lame since it didn’t add much contents and qol improvements. Also, Please address the stalling tactics and reduce the time limits to make it better. Playing against them is very tedious and pointless.

constantly running into “issues with my connectivity” while connected to Wi-Fi so the computer chooses moves for you. these moves lose games every single time which only compounds the frustration. have no issues playing on the switch

I started this one yesterday and was very excited to when I learned that I could bring pokemons from pokemon home, which I could fill with my pokemon Go account. but when I tried to send them over, I found out that I could only store 30 in pokemon home. I thought it was ok, since I needed them in this game only. then I realized, there is a max limit of 50 in this game as well. How much more money do u really need? u could have just given free storage or at least made it like pokemon Go.
