Second Language RPG

About

Second Language is a new language learning game concept where the entire game world is written in a language you are learning. To make progress in the game, you have to improve your understanding of this language. You arrive in a new land where everyone speaks a language you don't know yet. To explore the world you have to interact with the local characters and understand what they are saying. Progress requires comprehension. You can't beat the game without learning the language. In this first release, there's 250 vocab terms, 2,500 practice sentences, about 5,000 words of in-game native dialog content, and 5-10 hours of gameplay quest content. How It Works - Learn through adventure, not flashcards. Explore hand-crafted pixel-art worlds, talk to characters, and solve quests that need real understanding. - Comprehensible input, built in. You meet new words in context you can follow—the way languages are actually acquired. - Spaced repetition without the homework. Words come back right when you're about to forget them. No decks to build, no scheduling. - Every skill, in the story. Reading, listening, writing, and speaking challenges are woven into the world. - Built for real fluency. Thousands of challenges take you from your first words toward real conversations. Most learning apps stop early—this one is built to go the distance. What You Can Learn Spanish, Chinese (Mandarin), and English today. More languages on the way. Guiding Philosophy Second Language is built on decades of second-language-acquisition research—the idea that we acquire a language when we understand messages, not when we memorize rules. Every quest, conversation, and world is designed to give you input you can understand, and a reason to understand it.
