I almost got a little choked up when I opened up this app and it looked exactly like the emulator I used almost 30 years ago. ZSNES was never perfect but it was good enough and represented a beautiful simplicity that the heavier and more complicated modern emulators largely miss.

The first time I used ZSnes was in 1997. It's surreal to see it here. It was always my favorite user experience out of any other emulator and that is present here too, but with some awesome new features. I'm glad these guys are finally back in action.

missing basic features. I get that it's still a work in progress but there's nothing here yet that makes me want to use it over something like retroarch or Snes9x EX. Need to be able to change the directory path for save files. More upscaling and image filter options would also be nice. The enchanced filters dont look very good.

for now I gave it a 4, because in some enhanced supported game (super Castlevania 4) the border and widescreen didn't seems to work. also my Gamesir X3 pro Y and X button registered but cannot be used after being set in input (the icon didn't appear and in game it didn't react when press albeit it's being registered in input setting )

android issue, its hard to move roms into your data folder.. still havent been abke to see that location using my phone itnuses the system files folder and doesnt show the data folder from you guys. please make loading roms easier. 5 stars still

pretty solid work so far. some other things i'd like to see that don't seem to be mentioned on the website are being able to use the snes mouse (especially on this android version) and retroachievements. it's also a little annoying that it creates a new files in my rom folder every time i run a game with no option to store them elsewhere

from just preliminary use of a few games the emulator has a lot of promise, i understand that it is beta. I have it installed on my tablet and really my concern is having a full screen mode. so if you could make that a feature or if you already have plans to add that. i would appreciate it. otherwise i look forward to this being my go-to. keep up the good work

The developers are pretty quick in responding. They've fixed the selecting rom folders issue the next day i emailed them about it, and they keep refining the app. Most roms work, and with each update more support is added. I'm excited to where this app is going. I'm glad to see this app back in development again.

It's not seeing my roms, zipped or unzipped. My roms work in retroarch, but they won't appear in the menu for some reason. Not sure what to do. Update: I just realized that the app will only see the roms in the com.zsnes.superzsnes folder, even though the app unnecessarily has a built-in browser to find a roms folder. It's very difficult to move the roms in the required folder because my phone sees it as a security risk. I had to use a file browser in split screen mode to move the roms over.

I'm enjoying this release. For an early build it's working amazingly for me. my only complaint is a lack of android TV support. I am an Nvidia Shield TV Pro user and use Android TV as my main emulation platform. but I paid for the app, even though I don't typically use my phone for gaming to show support. You guys are amazing and I'm so glad to see the OG ZSNES crew working on a new iteration of one of the most iconic emulators of all time! I can't wait for more enhancements!

So far a very easy to use emulator strongly reminiscent of the author's older emulator from the late nineties. The new optional effects currently work very well on the five games that support them but this is likely to increase rapidly as the author plans to open this up to the community. Be aware that super fx games (Yoshis island, starfox) are not supported yet but this is promised in future updates. All in all a very impressive start and well worth the money.
