The 42

About

The 42 puts you in the judge's seat. Based on real cases from courts across the Commonwealth, each round presents you with evidence, witness statements, and legal arguments. Your job is to weigh them — and deliver a verdict. No legal background required. Just judgment. HOW IT WORKS Each case gives you the facts. You answer three questions about the evidence, the law, and the outcome. Every answer is graded against what the court actually decided — so you'll learn whether your instincts hold up against real judicial reasoning. Get it right, and you climb. Get it wrong, and you find out why. 294 REAL CASES. 7 RANKS. Begin as a Layperson and work your way through landmark rulings from the UK, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, and South Africa. 7 Ranks: Layperson > Witness > Counsel > Prosecutor > Advocate > Judge > Chief Justice Each rank spans 6 chapters, each chapter 7 cases. Chapter 6 — Ma'at's Chamber — is Expert difficulty. Only the sharpest minds advance. Master all 7 ranks and prestige with a medal. Then start again — harder. THE 42 LAWS OF MA'AT In ancient Egyptian belief, the soul was weighed against Ma'at's feather of truth. 42 divine assessors judged every heart. The 42 is named for them. 7 cases x 6 chapters = 42 per rank. Every session, you are weighed.
