Using OS Tahoe 26.6.2. I cannot access the icons outside of the main window. Some games solve themselves. The game quits frequently.
- Evermicah · v1.2.2
The game played pretty well overall, actually much smoother on my modern iPad pro than I recall playing on an IBM PC on a CD when the game first came out. Overall, great graphics and sound. My problem was playing using the track pad on my Apple magic keyboard case. The game frequently crashed, usually in the middle of a puzzle. Once I took the iPad out of the keyboard case and maneuvered with a pencil pro, the crashes seemed to significantly reduce. But I did really enjoy the nostalgia of playing this game again,.
- Dverde · v1.2.2
Hard to complete any puzzles when the game crashes in the middle of solving them.
- 7sAllGood · v1.2.2
If you was around when the game came out. Then the remastered version gives it a well deserved face lift.
- Regdor1977 · v1.2.2
I wish game creators would make phone games more like this one, the puzzles are fun the graphics are still cool and the story is interesting
- Logically illogical · v1.2.2
I have found that many of the games I have completed do not give me achievements, as well as I cannot progress in the games much as I try(I have completed all puzzles, up until the painting, but I cannot start it the action is not available) it’s frustrating. I had the original CD-Rom in the 90’s and it by far had less glitches.

We need an update please.
- asych · v1.2.2
I want to play but it keeps shutting down :( definitely wasted $7
- LookaUFO · v1.2.2
I bought it for nostalgia but got bored quickly with the plot holes and puzzle malfunctions.
- Brit user · v1.2.2
Poor graphics, too long beginning with cheesy acting , no action. Run away.
- Rockyhiggins · v1.2.2
Game keeps quitting. Play for a few minutes and it shuts down don’t waste your money
- BellaNicolesmommy · v1.2.2
The app crashes as soon as it opens no matter what I do. Buyer beware, it’s currently non-functional.
- Majik Ninja · v1.2.2
Too many bugs Bishop game is a waste of time. trying to get upstairs takes several moves, which is ridiculous the original game so much better
- Original guest · v1.0.2
Just 2 hours into this PRICEY game it stopped playing and transitioned to a black screen…never to play again. YIKES & WTH !?! All the guidance given me from my tech support son failed to revive the game. Now I’m wanting my money back !!!
- Granny-G3 · v1.0.2
Very excited to play but unfortunately…there is no sound whatsoever. Save yourself some time and headache. Don’t purchase this.
- Nerruskiyah · v1.0.2
I’m so thrilled to play this game again. I love everything about it. The puzzles are just like I remember them, challenging and fun.
- two2beam · v1.0.2
I got T7g when CD-ROMs were coming into the mainstream. I bought one of the original discs and ran into the classic sound buffer failure 02/20 that Trilobyte forgot to debug in DOS. Once I got the patch (terminal link and a floppy disk) I played the game to completion. When I had to move to Mac I picked up the equivalent and introduced my friend in high school to it. Henry Stauf became well-known among the geeks of my day. This is a great game, and Hirshboeck owns the role of Stauf like Englund owned Freddy. On the acting: yes, they’re overacting for a purpose…a lot of nuance is lost when compression reduces facial expressions to pixels. This game was produced in the early 90’s. The actors are compensating for the tech. THIS GAME IS A PIECE OF HISTORY. It, along with Myst, popularized the optical drive. There are some bugs, granted, but as long as we keep reporting them they’ll fix them.

HOW DO I GET REFUND!!!!
- D. UPSET · v1.0.2
Hate playing in silence.
- Mrnastytine · v1.0.2
My sound isn’t working. Hard to follow a silent game.
- Mshphotography · v1.0.2
So many memories brought back from my childhood. As an adult, I realize now that the story is a bit off, but I don’t care. The puzzles are still fun.
- Anya Elle · v1.0.2
I loved this game years ago on my PC and wanted to love it here but there are so many issues. Twice I’ve gone to load a Saved Game only to discover it was no longer there and I had to start the game over from the beginning. I was hoping the glitches had been worked out but apparently not.
- Ccuecuecha · v1.0.2
Works just fine on my iPhone 12 PM. Everything is as I remember it from the original release, and it's just as...moody. :) One request: in the CD ROM release I had the music including the extra tracks (feat Cotton Mather IIRC). The music is here too but apparently only playable in the app. Would LOVE to be able to export those tracks to my Apple Music library. This app is a win.
- Goaltender66 · v1.0.2
After playing games like The Room and it’s sequels, this feels positively primitive. Also very slow, as you’re forced to wait through various films. I quit after 10 minutes. Definitely not worth the $4.99!
- Heyhiill · v1.0.2
I’m an idiot. Should have read all of the reviews. NO SOUND. Fix it already!
- Warzone509 · v1.0.2
Wow. Sam game I had 25 years ago. Love it and great job. Thank you
- Hreggdf · v1.0.2
I was very excited to play this game, but there is no sound. Very disappointed.
- rdltsbr · v1.0.2
Terrible on the iPhone. It freezes my phone on puzzles and certain ones cannot be completed because of it.
- Bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbblot · v1.0.2
Good port but you are blocked from accesding any other room after you complete the crypt.
- BadDemonOfCyanMeadow · v1.0.2
Great old nostalgia piece. From what I’ve played so far, this is that old, gothic, brilliant, trendsetting puzzle game from the 90s on par with Myst. One apparent star loosing glitch appears to be with the audio. If your device is on silent, then the game has no audio. There is an inherent logic there, but apps will sound audio regardless of device silent setting (ie Zoom). If this is how iOS and iPadOS handle audio files these days, fine, but it seems there should be some faq relating to that, if the “glitch” is unfixable.
- Jeff 1987 · v1.0.2
I was hesitant to get this since seeing all the reviews that say there’s no sound, but I got it and have played it at least 10 times now, and the sound is actually there! Sometimes if I go to a different room sometimes, the sound cuts out, but it’s fixed just by going to another room again. But usually, the sound is absolutely perfect! I’m using ipados 14.1 if anyone wonders. Awesome game! 5 stars!
- IanJ78 · v1.0.2
I loved this game in the 90’s and was excited to see it again. But for $5.99 I expected it to work more than once. It’s played pretty well the first time, but when I opened the app to play a second time the sound was gone. Tried settings, can’t get sound to work. I would prefer a fix, but if It’s not going to work, then a refund should be in order.
- Digishooter · v1.0.2
This was my favorite childhood game. Played it for hours.
- SweetnZesty19 · v1.0.2
This is a great haunted house puzzler, revolutionary when it first came out (and yes, I played it back then). It’s hardly fair to compare graphics, video and sound technology across decades - those seem primitive now. It’s the concept (creepy back story, then immersion with clever puzzles that provide more creepy video clues about the over-arching mystery) that makes this classic worth spending a few hours on, 25+ years later. One MAJOR snag, unfortunately: The game works fine on my old iPad 2 (10.3.4) and iPhone 6s (13.6), but I can’t get ANY sound on my iPad Pro 12.9” 3d generation (13.5.1). I suspect that it’s using a sound library/API that was deprecated at some point after OS 10 for iPad?? The device obviously has something to do with it, since it does work on my iPhone - don’t know about the newer iPhones, though! I hope that the author tackles this - please!! - it will be a shame if nobody can enjoy this on any newer, larger screen.
- OrbRemsy · v1.0.2
There is no sound!!!! I bought this game for the iPad a few years ago and it worked fine. Then it was taken off the iPad store so I could no longer play it, and now I bought this remastered version, and THERE IS NO SOUND!
- mhcope3 · v1.0.2
Like others have said, there’s no sound on the game and this doesn’t seem to be a fixable problem for some people. I emailed support and never received a reply. Download at your own risk because it might work for you and it might not.
- 1121E · v1.0.2
I’m old enough to have played the original, though I never did. Perhaps the repetitive dialog, halting gameplay, and difficult navigation are true recreations. But unless this is a trip down memory lane don’t bother.
- THarlin · v1.0.2
I just purchased and downloaded this game twice thinking there was a glitch. There's so sound!
- AGBENDECK · v1.0.2
Terrible graphics and no sound
- Txlambo · v1.0.2
There is no audio for this app…what a disappointment…how do,I get my money back…it’s garbage without audio
- Master Jedi's R2-Unit · v1.0.2
It wouldn’t heal bad if it didn’t crash in the middle of apuzzle
- Omezee · v1.0.2
I don’t know how this is considered a “remaster” with so many lingering issues still haunting the gameplay. Sure, you can skip audio and video sequences, but Stauf will still repeat the same corny joke dozens of times while you work through a puzzle. “Don’t take all KNIGHT” repeated forty times while solving the knights puzzle, for example. In some rooms, the clickable zones are very hard to hit, such as the cards in the magician’s room and the floor in the foyer, and you end up zooming across the house erroneously. Most embarrassing of all, the smoothing that was promised as part of the remaster holds up in very few areas. Once you advance to the laboratory, nursery and attic, it’s as choppy as the CD-ROM and the audio/video fails to sync up. I had many restarts for the app in order to simply get any audio at all to restore, as it would occasionally fail without reason. This is overall an incredibly lazy and disappointing remaster of a classic game. The original CD-ROM allowed you to replay any puzzle after you complete the endgame. That’s not possible here either, as you get stuck in the attic if you reload past the credits. The best iOS port for the 7th Guest, in my opinion, would be a concise way to play through any of the great puzzles in this classic game, with a focused effort on improved controls and limited/eliminated audio interruptions.

This game is as great today as it was 25 years ago. The music is worth the cost alone.
- uberkermit · v1.0.2
I previously gave it 2 stars, cause it was out of sync with the character segments and their voices. I just finished playing the whole game (with a little help from my old strategy Guide), and found it wasn’t as bad. I ‘Guest’ it’s the best that could be done, to make this game as memorable and spooky as possible. Thanks.
- gthunt184 · v1.0.2
This game is still as enjoyable from a nostalgic perspective as it is for a first time viewing. The amount of effort and love put into this game back in the day still shows. This was early CD ROM days, you guys. They had a full score on MIDI! I have yet to find a game as fun to play or one where an old man tanuts your intellect. There's a reason why it keeps coming back, it's pure joy.
- saynthng · v1.0.2
I _love_ the acting in this game. It’s just so charming. What a great memory. Being able to play a 1gb version of 7th Guest on a handheld device that performs faster and smoother than the original would blow my 1994 mind LOL. I wish that the original models could have been used to render a free 3d environment instead of the pre-rendered scenes, and remastering the cut scenes would be great, too. I’d pay $25-30 for that version. Still - not having to wait for a cd to load on a pentium really ups the enjoyability.
