Didnt expect the game to be short and making money in the game is pointless if I cant even spend it on anything. I paid for one magic sword and that was all I need to reach the end, the addlestones wernt even used until the final tower, I had 95 stones on me. 50k just to beat the game with it.

Excellent graphics, funny snarky humor, several ways to win, Many Rare achievements doable. Playable offline. NO ads. Reloaded on new device by using original email for Google account. Didn't realize I finished 10 years ago but missed many achievements. Try the icons for inventory, actions, log, goals in progress.

Original trilogy fail

Loved the og games when I was a kid, so I figured why not have some fun…and I did, right up til the third game 1 and 2 worked great, but when I try to play 3 it went south real fast First and worst, it won’t let me bring my characters from 1&2 over, and I spent a lot of time building up a strong party Ok, I can get over that, the will still be fun, right? Wrong Second, it forces you to use keyboard mode only, no mouse or touch screen options Alright, annoying but doable if you want to put in the work, just have to get used to looking at an even smaller screen, thankfully the graphics are up to par…oh wait Third they used a really bad version for the final game, looks like a 1970s 4-bit console game Play the first 2 for fun if you want, just be prepared for a Soprano-esque ending

Don’t waste your time

I hate this game; even on easy mode it’s hard. I play to relax and enjoy. I don’t care about challenges. It’s very difficult to save the game and mobs will often times block you from doing anything. Spells take forever to cast. And you have to use the spells to summon guardians or buffs/heal very frequently. It’s very very annoying and frustrating. The movement button is very buggy and you stop very frequently and will die quite often.

How I’ve never heard of this game until now? I came across TBT looking for a legit mobile rpg and was pleasantly surprised to find this port. The writing, voice acting and music are top notch, and I’m loving the atmosphere. Also, thank you for including controller support! More games need to do this. One of the funniest and best RPG‘s

The bards tale is easily one of the funniest RPG’s ever sometimes it can be really challenging, but it can also be very easy. It’s a very fun game. I wish you could customize your character though, and you could and you could customize your name but other than that, it’s a really good game and I find it very sad that not a lot of people know about it. Nostalgia “Retro”

Not for the low self esteem. Old school simpler style RGP, But with a lot of adult humor. (NOT for the younger crowd.) You get to choose how the plot develops for the most part. Lots of running around and destroying and looting everything. Narrator constantly is telling you how bad you are for all of your horrible decisions. Over all a great time killer for the sarcastic. If you hiding in your safe place right now because the world is not fair and giving you what you want without working hard or breaking a sweat…… Just NO!!! STAY AWAY from this game!!! Stay under your Powerpuff Girls blanket, in your Mom’s house, at 27, not paying rent because you still work at the pizza place. You cannot even figure out why you have not made manager in the last 11 years or find a girlfriend. Still wondering why all the other guys laughed at you for wanting to play Soft ball with the girls in the 6th grade.

Original Games don’t seem to work

I purchased this game for nostalgia purposes to play the original I played as a kid. The Bard’s Tale 3 appears to get stuck once I put the character disk in and it asks me if I want to continue with my saved game. I have chosen both yes and no, and nothing happens. Maybe, I am doing something wrong. Can anybody help? I would hate to request my money back, but I could use help with this.

Excellent Game.

Love this game. It’s a streamlined RPG. You won’t really have to deal with selling a bunch of loot or min/maxing your character. The gameplay is pretty straight forward. The graphics are pretty decent, except for the cutscenes. As far as I know, all of the bugs that are mentioned in other reviews have been fixed. I haven’t had any issues with the game. I definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a simple fun adventure rpg.

Used to be good

I originally bought this game on my computer years back. Loved it, lotta fun stuff to do and crude jokes to laugh at. Then I bought it for my iPad mini several years back. Ran great, had a lot of fun playing it on here. Now they add a patch that makes it incompatible with my iPad mini. So much for this purchase, can't trust a company to stick to the system requirements even on ancient games like this.

Deletes saves

Do not pay for this game! I’ve played it for a while now, and I was pretty far. However, I went to play it today, and my save took me back to the drunken rat and the save file said it only had 6 mins of gameplay, and I’m pretty ticked off about it. The devs have basically abandoned the game, so it’s not getting fixed. There are plenty of other people who have this problem, so it’s pretty common. Don’t spend 3 bucks on a broken game that isn’t getting fixed.

The dialogue choices are invisible in newer versions of IOS. Shame as I started it prior and came back to find I couldn’t continue. Don’t spend your money here until the game is fixed. Hope the dev sees these reviews and responds someday.

New update

Great game, but the new update for the IPhoneX cuts out the top and bottom of the screen during some of the dialog. So you can’t see subtitles or choose the bards reaction to conversations unless you tap randomly and deal with whatever reaction you happen to press. Hope this is fixed soon.

Continually crashes

Surprised by the overall 4.5 star rating. The game continually crashes on me. Only 13 minutes into the game and I cannot get past my second interaction with the bar lady with huge jugs. I have a newer iPhone and I know the phone isn’t the issue.

Original Trilogy are not remastered

I actually got the game more for the original trilogy thinking they were also the remastered versions. The description was not clear about that, but they are actually the original 1980s version and a pain to play on the iphone, not playable as far as as I'm concern. The 2004 Bard's Tale game is fun and worth playing for the story. I am not sure the strategy portion is worth another play through on olde school level. Excellent game for $3, the cost of a cup of coffee.

Never-ending fun

I’ve been obsessed with playing this game for years now! Everything about it is so very entertaining! A freaking blast from the past!

I don’t ever write reviews but when I saw this I had to. This is based off the 2004 Bard’s tale and does great justice, when I initially saw this on IOS I was hit with a massive wave of nostalgia, I grew up playing this and it was probably the first RPG hack n slash I ever played, I loved it then and loved it now, I even have a strict rule when doing in game purchases that I broke for this, and let me clarify you don’t need to buy anything in game I just wanted the massive trip down memory lane, from some reviews it seems like no one knows or remembers this game was made well over a decade ago, but still after all this time I love it! It made my day seeing this game again.
