Tichu

Fun but difficult

This is a fun game with a lot of strategy. But I can’t beat the single player bots on their default mode. I have like a 16% win rate, and even when I play using the hints I can’t win hands. I’m not docking rating since it’s a good game but am I just bad?? Unlucky??

- T r e r · v2.0.54

I was initially able to play this when I initially purchased it, but now I am unable to start a single player match. Unplayable.

- Sean Snyder · v2.0.54

when working, it is great. but if you leave the app in the middle of a game and get the pop up to continue or start new, it just crashes no matter what you select. I have to clear data to get it to move on, this removing all stats.

- David Hedden · v2.0.54

Great update

I miss a few things from the old version, however seeing a nice update like this is really great

- bassgoonist · v2.0.54

Glitchy

Constantly freezes and crashes, resulting in lost game data. Very frustrating

- EmreCakirSC · v2.0.51

Best Tichu game!

I’ve had this app for a long time, and been thru many updates. The current version is great! The double-tap to select is a good way to learn about the possibilities of what you can play. I like the flexibility of positioning the play button on the screen. The art is great, and you can choose an aesthetic that works for you.

- SimonStern2 · v2.0.50

The update is awful

It was so much cleaner and easier to play before. I am deeply regretting updating it.

- LKW7 · v2.0.50

Figuring out the player ranking methodology

I’m enjoying the updates but trying to figure out how the rankings work- I will win a game but my ranking drops by 4 points. Or sometimes it increases by 20 points? It would be a great addition to add some info in the online help section. Thanks

- Foley KState · v2.0.50

This app crashes constantly. Complete waste of 5 dollars. Buyer beware.

- Michael Linder · v2.0.50

Terrible update

I’m over 50 & have been playing this game for years. It was my favorite game. Last week I opened and played as normal. Last night I opened it and it looks totally different, my names I had for the 3 “computer players” have changed as well as all my settings and I can’t change them back. Also, the cards are so small I can’t clearly see the numbers. Please change the game back, or I’ll have to sadly delete the app forever.

- LoirTWO · v2.0.50

New version - new bugs

Ok. So the new AI has learned how to better play bombs. That’s making it more realistic. But I also just witnessed a MAJOR bug. AI opponent played a pair of 6s. I overplayed a Jack and the phoenix, opponent overplayed THREE QUEENS?? That cleared them of a bare Q liability. Needs debugging.

- JeremyPilot · v2.0.50

AI Slop

Whoever did the updates to this game literally prompted ChatGPT 3 or some older model and said. Make updates to this game to make it as unplayable as possible, and add it some amateur animations. Ruined what was a perfectly good game

- NotAStriker · v2.0.50

Great Game

The update rocks! I love this game. Okay the first iteration of the rewrite was not great. This version 049 has fixes for all that. Author heard the feedback and responded. The AI player is challenging.

- Rick xyzzy · v2.0.49

This is a major downgrade

Rarely do I call out something this awful. This new overhaul of the game has literally downgraded itself to a C grade high school project (Update) I really tried to like this new version but this really feel like someone dropped the ball and didn’t do proper UI/UX homework. I lost my interest in this app. Should at least make the old UI a ‘classic’ theme people can choose to play with

- UserMizzle · v2.0.47

Update Wrecked It

The latest update reworked everything. It’s now slow buggy with a horrible user interface.

- Merhalt · v2.0.45

Update makes it unplayable

I have been a die hard Tichu fan for years. I have played thousands of hours on the old version of the app with the only issue being that Bluetooth multiplayer stopped working a couple of years ago. I played this app Almost daily. However the new version has made me abandon this app completely. The UI is significantly worse and less practical for the player, has has glitches more than the old version ever did. Also all my years of statistics were wiped. PLEASE PLEASE REVERT

- Aris350 · v2.0.45

App Crashes

The Tichu game crashes immediately upon opening the app. Can you look into it and fix it? I love playing this game.

- Judekelly · v2.0.45

Why was the app changed?

This used to be one of my favorite games and apps. However, it was recently changed and it’s horrible. Go back to the d version…. Please!

- Dmck_obx · v2.0.45

Change It Back

The new version of the app is worse in every way! Please change it back. Nothing was wrong with the old version. Why such a dramatic overhaul?

- capck · v2.0.44

Tichu

New update stoped it from working🙁

- Gameguide · v2.0.44

New version UI is too tiny

I’ve owned and played the 2010 version for years. While the new version may have significant improvements in the AI, the interface changes are a significant detriment on smaller devices like phones—it makes viewing a selecting a card to play tricky. Text is also very tiny.

- Joel Burton · v2.0.44

Good solo play, abysmal multiplayer

As long as you don’t mind playing against 3 AIs, the play is “good”. Easy to navigate your own interface and play, and the AIs bots are ok. You CANNOT play this game multiplayer. It just does not work. You cannot do a LOCAL game, nor can you do an online game. It does not work, and has not for a very long time. Sad.

- Evilone_nj · v1.10.0

The AI is irritating

This is a great version of this game. My AI partner drives me nuts. Multiple times I’ve called Tichu and the AI plays high high cards over me so many times I will lose th Tichu bid only because of my partner. The last game the AI had two cards left— an Ace and a two. It played the ace. Why? The AI partner doesn’t even hav enough sense to let their partner win Tichu. Often the competitor AIs seem to play as if they are cheating (and that when I’m not playing with the best skill level). Enjoyable but frustrating

- laylagalise · v1.10.0

Doesn’t work on iPhone 16 Pro

App loaded tutorial but crashes every time I open.

- freearive · v1.10.0

Great game

I have played this game for thousands of hours. It is, in my opinion, the best one available. However, I would greatly appreciate it if the developers could stop the app from spamming achievements. It causes crashes and is generally annoying. Secondly, when playing on the hardest difficulty, as your rating goes above 1750, the opponents seem to cheat more, creating a disturbing amount of bombs. The last thing I'll mention is that you can NEVER, and I repeat, NEVER trust your partner with the Phoenix. They will use it in the worst possible way almost every time. Other than my whining above, this is a perfect game.

- UTMormonzz · v1.10.0

Keeps crashing help!

I bought this app but after I get through the tutorial it crashes when I try to actually play! Please fix!

- peace&luv101646 · v1.10.0

Please update !!!

Would love to play with my family in different locations. Please update. More people would purchase. This app should be free as you can only play with AI. Can not play against real opponents as it crashes when you try to set up a multiplayer game. Frustrated

- Markpmd · v1.10.0

may be the most perfect card game ever

Playing this app is great and Techu is a well crafted trick taking. Lobbing game. If you ever get to play it live with real decks it will quickly become your new favorite game of all time

- DukeofEarl1999 · v1.10.0

My favorite game

I only get to play this game about twice a year, so finding this app was incredible! I hope it receives an update someday, because the programming could be better. It would be nice if my partner acted more as a partner rather than playing crazy hands when I’ve bet Tichu and they should be paying attention to my cards and assisting. If you’ve never played Tichu, it’s fantastic!!!!

- Irina<3'sArsenal · v1.10.0

Titchu tournaments

I really love this card game!!! And for all you board gamers out there, at the BGC convention in Dallas coming up we have a Titchu tournament. Come watch me play ❤️🍑🍑

- Pine cove Peaches RN · v1.10.0

Simple on the surface, but deep in strategy

If poker, rummy, and whist has a baby, tichu would be it. This game scratches that itch or trick taking enthusiast and people who love games like poker and rummy. The sets that you can lead with are similar to poker such as a full house, a straight, or a straight flush, etc. it has a trick taking feel, but you’re trying to shed your hand like you would in rummy. Definitely recommend this game if you enjoy any of those games

- toastboy92 · v1.10.0

Great game, tips favor in computer opponents

There’s no way cards are distributed fairly. I kept mental track of how many times opponents got the dragon and it was higher than me and my computer partner. They play at a higher skill level than your partner as well, even if you turn up your partners playing methods. If you’re looking to REALLY build up your skill and think through things, it’s worth it if you want to get better. But if you’re looking to causally play I’d pass on this.

- Itsdawsontime · v1.10.0

Terrible unless your play on poor and beginner.

Even on normal level the opponent the AI ALWAYS has a better hand. ALWAYS. WASTE OF MONEY! Also the app has started freezing up now.

- ejlinch · v1.10.0

Could improve

I love playing Tichu, however….sometimes, I have to delete and reopen the app because it will close down any time that I try to open it. I also notice that some of the opponents plays don’t make sense, such as having a card to play and not doing it. For the money, this is a fun diversion:)

- Atxchick1 · v1.10.0

crash

the app has been crashing so bad. help!

- hanwals2234 · v1.10.0

Nice concept but flawed data

This game is fun for practicing the game but has some major flaws. Primarily the way the hands are dealt. Far too often the hands are unrealistically dealt. I’ve had at least 15 hands where 3 or 4 bombs were spread across. That has not happened to me once in real life. For a game that is charging there needs to be better control of the distribution of hands. Please take the time to fix this.

- Jason51379 · v1.10.0

- Jukfvduhjhdvfce · v1.10.0

I was disappointed that multiplayer games function didn't work for me or my friend. Tichu. One does let us play together virtually and it’s free.

- kaylin_bo_baylin · v1.10.0

Bombs come out too often when playing with AI players.

- 나쁜사과2 · v1.10.0

- tichu2016 · v1.10.0

Glitchy and bad logic

The game of Tichu is amazing! This app leaves much to be desired. Almost daily the app glitches and will just crash repeatedly when I try to play. Normally if I close it a couple times it then works but it seems to be getting worse. I had to uninstall and reinstall it a few days ago to get it to work for me, even restarting my phone would not fix it. The app has not been updated in 5 years, so who the F@&$ knows why it just prompted me to give a review. Please update!!!!!! Trying to ply online with friends almost never works. The computer intelligence is a bad combination of card counters and complete idiots. There are little nonsensical rules they follow that make my partner screw me over in ways that make no sense. Like playing the 1 late in a hand after they have seen the opponent play the card they gave, they always still ask for the card anyway. But with the computer intelligence set to expert it is clear as each hand comes to a close that the computers have counted the cards perfectly, or even know who has what cards. I would give it less than 3 stars but unfortunately I think it is the best Tichu app out there.

- argofckyourself · v1.10.0

Great Game, but no multiplayer ?

I love this game, and the ai for solo play is great(although sometimes seems psychic, still a great challenge). I think the multiplayer functionality has become broken after years of no updates. My girlfriend and I cannot get it to work on Bluetooth or online, we can attempt to join the same lobby but the game stays saying “Connecting…” with the spinning loader forever. It is a shame, since the rest of the game is a pretty good experience.

- MaXx_The_Great · v1.10.0

Good UI & Terrible Partner

This is a good UI for a complicated game. However the AI partner is often incredibly stupid (especially compared to the Android version). The AI partner will do mystifying things like play a high pair before tossing trash and finding itself with no power at late rounds. It will frequently play a high card when you’ve called Tichu (and this interfering with trash tossing for the more important player). And most infuriating, it will gain control and play a pair when a) you've called Tichu and b) you’ve demonstrated not liking pairs and c) not having a high pair to regain control. Also, the AI partner is way too eager to bomb. I’ve seen it bomb a low full house on the first play of a round. Same for straights. At the same time, I’ve seen the AI pass on the last trick before the opponent went out while having a high, blocking set. The AI partner makes too many unforced errors, even at “best”. OTOH the opponent AI is merciless at exploiting weaknesses and baiting high sets. This is very well done actually, but real is aggravating when your partner is considerably more stupid!

- Tichu Maniac · v1.10.0

This game needs an update

This game runs horribly and is always crashing. If the game actually worked there’d probably be more people playing, but very few people are online at any given time so it takes forever to find a game, that is if it doesn’t crash before finding a match… Just update it plz Tichu is so fun and this app could be good. I paid 3 bucks man come on. The free tichu online app is better.

- Gig@Chad · v1.10.0

Issue with Becky!

I would love the developers to fix this one issue. When one of us has only one card left, Becky will play her lowest card instead of going from high to low. It’s pretty silly because otherwise the AI‘s are pretty smart when you have them on the smartest level. I am pretty sure that the other ai players do that as well. But that particular thing is pretty annoying!

- KarenMarin · v1.10.0

Needs an update

This should be a free app if there hasn’t been any updates in 4 years. It’s not worth the purchase. I downloaded to play with friends and that function isn’t working. Playing with bots is extremely frustrating. The other bots play seamlessly together whereas your partner continues to sabotage the game for you. That is if you want a challenging game play. If you just want to win every hand and the other team never calls TICHU then that may work for you. But again it’s outdated and you’re forced to play with bots.

- LizziLizz · v1.10.0

Please update

All of the AI players know what cards you have. This is clear on the wishes made, and when lead specific cards, and even when passing. Still a great app!
