Cute game but overheats your phone and wipes your battery.
- Pupkiwi · v1.1.10
I would say this game is very calm. I use it to rewind after a long day, I seriously cannot go a single day without playing. I downloaded this game just a few days ago, and i’m already in winter. I play it anytime I get a chance to. The $8 is definitely worth it. The characters and challenges are fun and unique! Overall, this is a great game and I recommend it.
- urmkmisveryverydecioul · v1.1.10
You need to pay $8 for the game
- kaktusegor · v1.1.10
Not a tycoon, which I adore. All the characters fleshed out. All of the books are real! everything about this is great.
- Srazor12 · v1.1.10
Best game ever
- BookNerd.. · v1.1.10
I am in love with this game!! The graphics are well done, the plot is really fun to follow and I love being able to decorate my little book shop! Great game, only problem I have is it makes me ipad and iphone really hot, extremely hot so I can’t play for long periods of time on either.
- Sfurrow · v1.1.10
I’m so upset o finally finished the game and am unlocking all of the achievements now but nothing else lives up to it. I would really like a way to save boos that I see but haven’t read to a list, have a larger option of decor to pick from that actually matches different vibes rather than a ton of random stuff. I would also appreciate more events to look at for the year and more things to purchase at the flea markets and other markets. Just a few things to add but I love the game and really hope you make a new one or an update soon! I would definitely be willing to pay more for it
- Lovelysvalentine · v1.1.10
I bought this game for the vibes. It’s really fluff, with a cute story line, fun customization and interesting adventures. I also love the literary theme. Unfortunately it’s not the best phone game (might work better on a computer) because my brand new phone overheats quickly while playing the game and it drains the battery very quickly. Unfortunately I have just about finished the game and I’m hoping there will be future game play updates.
- Timtomfoolery · v1.1.10
Tiny Bookshop is an excellent game! After running through the demo, I was more than happy to pay the developers for their work. I much prefer to pay for a game once than having to sit through ads or be bombarded with paying for extras. Like other reviewers, I have a longer TBR list than when I started. The diversity of titles is amazing. Authors and topics I recognize as well as those that are new to me abound. Philosophy, nature, self-help, romance, queerness, murder and classics abound.
- WiGeekMom · v1.1.10
This game is so cozy and fun. The exact right amount of challenging and repetitive to feel novel (pun intended) yet relaxing. My only complaint is that I want more content! I earned all the badges already, and it’s not keeping my attention anymore without challenges to achieve.
- lo7607a · v1.1.10
I was excited to play this game because it’s an indie game and I love books, so I thought it would be perfect. It is perfect, however, THE TRIAL DOES NOT SAVE YOUR PROGRESS. I knew this was a “try before you buy” game and wanted to test it out before buying it. While I loved it, I was disappointed when I was taken back to the beginning. I want to play the first three days at my own pace not in one go. Would have given it five stars. I would appreciate this being fixed. If you are considering getting this game, I very much recommend it, but know you have to play the trial in one sitting.
- Love and thank you · v1.1.10
I really like it! It’s very a calm and relaxing game. I’m bookish and love being able to recommend books in the game is pretty cool.
- IrmaPatricia · v1.1.10
The worst game i have ever played.
- Realplayerrealme · v1.1.10
I really loved this game when I first started to play it. It’s cozy and relaxing. But then you realize it’s just the same thing over and over again. It gets boring. And like a lot of touch screen games, sometimes solving puzzles and taking actions aren’t intuitive at all. I became frustrated with it. A good effort, but just not enough to keep me interested.
- davidgpeterson · v1.1.10
Love this game. It’s so cozy. I just need an expanded storyline with more locations, or maybe another town to explore. It’s just so good that I don’t want it to end.
- Kristen Pushor · v1.1.10
I played the trial and set the game down, unwilling (at the time) to pay for it. However, I thought about this game every day until I bought it a few days later and I’m so happy I did. It’s soooooo fun. I love the characters and the world and the satisfaction of selling books out of a cute lil trailer. I don’t write reviews often, but if you are like me and can’t stop thinking about the game after the trial: just buy it. You’re supporting an indie game and team and you’ll get soooo much enjoyment out of this game. Can’t wait for the DLC!!
- PolarSeltzer420 · v1.1.10
So cozy and wholesome. Love how long the story line is. Need another game just like this!
- Daylexx · v1.1.10
Somehow, this game is highly addicting. There’s not much to it and it’s a very simple premise, but it’s actually really enjoyable and I honestly can’t stop playing it. Due to the repetitive nature of this game, I’m not sure exactly how long it would be fun to play continuously, but as of right now, I am really loving it.
- Heathercoxl · v1.1.10
I looove the game but now that I’m using the bookstore I find that I can’t answer requests for recommendations when they land at the top of the screen. Help!
- LeeEllenM · v1.1.10
I took it as a grinding game at first, since that’s what I’m used to seeing/playing. Once I actually paid attention to how to play and how to complete the quests I became more involved and started loving it more! Definitely recommend.
- LovesNetflix · v1.1.10
I like the graphics and artsy feel, which ties in with the idea of books as a relaxing and stimulating activity. I like the style of game you like the Sims or I’ll just tycoon games, especially with books as an English and love to be, but I feel like there should be a little bit more customization with the books and the stocks and hopefully be able to expand them get more books stores I would also like to be able to fast forward to the day possibly just because it seemed to be going a little bit slow and I wasn’t even sure how much longer in the day we had there was another really good review about how a lot of the topics were kind of biased and like not varied across the range of different topics and genres so it would be nice to see a multitude of lake opportunities. My only group is that it’s eight dollars for this game. I’m sorry but I’m not gonna take eight dollars for a game especially it’s gonna make my phone hot and my battery die fast if it was like three dollars I’d probably give it more than chance.
- Allieapplesauce · v1.1.10
As an aspiring author, I absolutely love the cozy atmosphere of this game and the fact that every book is a real one. I’ve actually found a few of my next TBR books through this game! Love it so much
- D. I. Nixon · v1.1.10
why do i have to pay money to play the full game..? i was enjoying myself playing this game and then i get hit with a “buy full game.” TELL ME WHY I HAVE TO BUY THE FULL VERSION. you shouldn’t give them a “trial” of the game. just make me buy the game in the app store.
- ky_williams101 · v1.1.10
I only did the free trial, but loved it so much I plan on buying it. I am now obsessed with finding more games like it. I like the payment system that allows you to try before you buy, but wish it was cheaper so it was less of a commitment, maybe 4 or 5 dollars instead of 7? Overall tho love the game, it makes me feel good about humanity
- rainshine22 · v1.1.10
I absolutely love it! It’s cute fun and relaxing! I just wish you had more decor choices for things like rugs!
- literallycantevenpostthiswtf · v1.1.10
I absolutely love this game and finding some good suggestions to read myself. My only problem with this is that I wish there was a way to cross save my game data from iPad to iPhone so that I done have to start over again. With my iPhone, I’m on the 1st year of spring but on my iPad, I’m already on the 11th year of spring.
- Vharr524 · v1.1.10
Barely get to play it because it crashes so frequently. Makes it tough to actually finish a level. Also makes my phone super hot? Doesn’t happen with any of my other apps just this game and I’ve seen the reviews that say the same. I even paid eight dollars as I thought it would fix it buying the full game. Nope.
- Person17707 · v1.1.10
ugh, i'm obsessed with this game. i've been waiting to play it for ages, so i'm thrilled it's on ios. i love the customization options, the cozy music, and discovering new books through the descriptions. the characters are so sweet that i've gotten attached to regulars like harper and anne and i actually get frustrated when i find the perfect recommendation for them somewhere they aren't visiting! my only wish is that there was a way to view book descriptions while prepping the shop. otherwise, it's been such a charming experience. i love spotting books i've already read, and the inclusion of queer novels is a lovely touch. hoping to see more games like this in the future. ♡
- itsnotleenyko · v1.1.10
Love this game! I wish there was more challenges/storylines
- currituckgirl13 · v1.1.10
it says the game is free in the app store but when you get it, it says "buy game." i completely support indie artists and would pay for the game if it were advertised as paid.
- orhdisvsd · v1.1.10
i LOVED tiny bookshop on switch, and i’m so glad it’s on iOS now. it’s so relaxing, with gorgeous graphics and cozy background music. it helps to escape to a world where people value connection, education and empathy for others. could not possibly recommend this game more. well worth the very reasonable amount of money. 10/10.
- tiger226 · v1.1.10
I’ve been addicted to playing this game. I bought it on my pc, switch and now iPad.
- Cstudent101 · v1.1.10
I really enjoy this game, but can only play 1-2 days at a time before my phone gets so hot that it’s almost uncomfortable to hold. Makes me nervous
- DRo124 · v1.1.10
I never leave reviews but I love this game sooo much it’s the perfect cozy game I’m obsessed.
- Mola Rola · v1.1.10
This game is everything I could ever want in a mobile game. Chill, low stakes, engaging, no ads. The sad news is that running the game makes my iPhone16 unbearably HOT. It’s too hot to even touch and I have to use a stylus when playing. This means I can’t play for very long, which is tragic because it has so much potential.
- swebbie33 · v1.1.10
I genuinely loved this delightful game! Well worth them money and I would love to see more content added. I would have no issue purchasing more chapters….
- SaraKilling · v1.1.10
This game is truly exceptional. In my opinion, it’s well worth the cost to purchase the full version of the game. The game play is relaxing and casual, yet the story line is stimulating and thought provoking. The characters that you get to know over time, the seasonal changes that occur, and the situations that develop are all very clever and intriguing. Essentially, you are a bookseller who travels to different locations, selling books of various genres. As you do so, you meet different characters with unique personalities and you try to fulfill their requests. To be honest, this game will especially appeal to book lovers and to those who don’t mind the somewhat tedious task of picking out books that meet the needs of clients. A knowledge of books is really a plus here. It may seem tedious and repetitive at first, but there is a depth here that really doesn’t present itself until you play the game for a while. The more locations you visit and the more characters you interact with, the more the game experience develops. Don’t be hasty; patience will be rewarded. The reason I gave this game four stars instead of five is that it forces the player to participate in various holiday events whether they want to or not. This is not optional for me. For instance, I did not want to participate in the haunted house ghost event, but there was no option to opt out. I find this offensive. I really hope the game developers can alter this. It makes a difference for me. Overall, this is a clever, intelligent, and empathetic game that promotes kindness, unity, and literacy. What an awesome breath of fresh air in the gaming world!
- Curious Cyclist · v1.1.10
this game is really fun. I’ve played it on PC and I’m incredibly happy that it’s come to iOS as well. You get to run a bookshop in a small town and build relationships with the community. The game is perfect to play after a long day of work. I really enjoy it and I want to thank the developers for bringing it to iOS.
- ma1yaaa · v1.1.10
Great game
- ThaKilla805 · v1.1.10
This game is super cute and fun! I love all the graphics and thought out characters. Everything about this game is cute from the music to being able to decorate your store. I’m not a big book reader but this game is so captivating and interesting to watch progress.
- Olivia Tapscott · v1.1.10
When I first downloaded the game, I was super impressed and intrigued. I thought it was a very unique and original idea that I hadn’t seen before. After playing for a while, though, I started noticing little things that I felt could be improved, especially considering that this is a paid game. One of my biggest recommendations would be adding a profile and character customization. It would be nice to create a character, choose a name, and have the game feel more personal. I think this would make players feel more involved and connected to the dialogue and interactions with the characters. I also would have loved for the supermarket to be an actual store where we could shop for shelves, decorations, and other things for the bookshop. Right now, there are very limited options for when and what you can get. I would also love to see RV upgrades. The space, paint, item placement, and overall style of the RV feel very limited. Since players are paying for the game, I think there should be more ways to customize the “tiny bookshop” and really make it feel like our own. I feel like these limitations would be more understandable if this were a $2.99 game, but this game costs $8. For a game at that price, it is honestly a letdown to see how limited some of these things are. The concept is amazing and beautiful, but I don’t feel like it was executed as well as it could have been. Another thing worth mentioning is that this game overheats my iPad like no other game I have played. What makes this more frustrating is that the game itself feels fairly simple. There aren’t serious graphics or a lot of movement. We don’t even have characters that we can play as or move around with, and the camera movement is also limited. Because of this, I wouldn’t expect the game to make my iPad heat up as much as it does. I also want to touch on something that ultimately rubbed me the wrong way. I feel this game contains a lot of political and social commentary. At first, I didn’t mind it, but over time I started noticing a very large number of books discussing politics, race/racism, activism, feminism, homosexuality, gay marriage, sexual identity, sexual intercourse, they/them pronouns, and transgender topics. It isn’t just an occasional book or a topic that appears here and there. There are so many books about these subjects that it starts to feel like they are being heavily pushed throughout the game. I want to make it clear that I’m not against people who identify with or discuss these topics. My concern is that this game is labeled for children 9+, and I personally don’t feel that the amount of mature and controversial social topics presented in the game is appropriate for that age group. I would have preferred the game to focus more on books and storytelling without repeatedly introducing these political and mature social themes. I also noticed that I came across very little representation of religious perspectives. I would have appreciated seeing a wider variety of perspectives rather than feeling like certain viewpoints were represented much more heavily than others. I’d suggest either labeling this as a more mature or adult-oriented game, or taking a more balanced and inclusive approach to the political, social, religious, and controversial topics presented. If these subjects are going to be included, I believe different perspectives should be represented fairly and without bias. Otherwise, I would prefer the game to leave these topics out altogether and simply allow it to be a fun escape from reality. Players should be able to immerse themselves in the game without feeling like they are constantly being reminded of particular political or social beliefs. Overall, I really love the idea behind this game, and I think it has so much potential. I just feel like there are several areas that could be improved, especially considering the $8 price and the age rating.
- dhdkfjj · v1.1.10
The creator of this game really did their big one I feel so heartwarming every time I play this game thank you for this experience, because this is actually something I’d want to do in life
- Em592 · v1.1.10
Unfortunately my game got to a point where I apparently unlocked what’s phrased like it’s an upgrade but it’s actually an ending. At the end of the in game day, I was redirected into one of the interactive cutscenes like you get at the end of seasons, and when it was done, the camera panned up to the sky, thanked me for playing, and said there was much more in the full game. I have already bought the full game. And then it just sat pointed at the sky with no interface, no menu, not even credits. It’s especially odd if your phone is on silent because if it weren’t for tiny sparkles of shooting stars in the sky it would just look like the device had frozen. Eventually I closed the app, and sure enough when I reload I’m back to the start of the day that ends my game. Can’t tell you how disappointing it is to have it cut off like that. I understand if the developers want to encourage replays, but it’s a really weird way to do it. Especially when the language presents it like you’re going to unlock something cool and still continue driving your lil shop around town. An option to continue would be nice. An option to start a new game maybe with different difficulty or demand but with perks earned from the previous game would be nice. A *menu button* would be nice. Credits would be disappointing but better than this. Hoping the devs have more content in store. But if nothing else, seriously, that message about more to do in the full game is not in the correct place. — On another note: I see people complaining that the game isn’t free, and saying in app purchases are for buying progression and extras. This is like saying payment terminals are for buying sodas because you like sodas. In app purchases are Apple’s way of letting developers charge from within an installed app. What the developers offer in exchange is an ocean of possibilities. In this case they’re offering an ad-free game that you can just play as much as you like. I’m crazily disappointed that my game ended so suddenly, but that’s because I was having fun playing it and not just sitting around waiting for energy to refill. Hoping for updates, but never thought it was meant to be free.
- kkgirl21 · v1.1.10
Cute game, no issue there. However, I paid for a pre-order of this game, got access to the same 3 days everyone else gets for free, and now need to pay $8 more for the full game? Something’s rotten here. Sent an email via the company website without any success.
- j3nia · v1.1.10
The game is very cute, cozy and calm .. fun too but it says a three day free trial, but I just downloaded it today and I already got to the end of the demo and only went to two cities, ill just continue watching youtubers play this game $7.99 is way to much for this game.. and it is definitely not a three day trial. It literally takes about 30 minutes to an hour and you’re at the end of the demo.
- Nyx (lay) · v1.1.10
Wholesome and cozy game✨ so glad they released it for phones too
- Alex_Cirilla · v1.1.10
I have so much enjoyed this game. It is well worth the (small) price. They even recently rolled out an extension of the game with no additional charge. There are no ads and no in game purchases. Even after finishing the quests and achievements, one can continue to decorate and buy and sell books. I hope the developers are working on another game just as clean and fun as this one.
- Sugarpilz · v1.1.10
I preordered this game for free on the app store and got it for free, I was having a lot of fun playing until one day it says I can't play anymore. I have been playing since before you had to pay and now I cant continue. Spent hours for nothing. They also should let you know in game about the trial!
- jellyfisheyx · v1.1.10
I usually never leave a review for games or apps, but I have to say I've been addicted to this game since I downloaded it a few days ago. $7.99 price is definitely worth it! The graphics are great, really love the customization aspect of everything. All in all I really enjoy this game.
- Alana089 · v1.0.4
I generally don’t write reviews but this game is genuinely so amazing. At first I was a tad upset that you have to pay to keep playing, but at the same time it’s a indie game and probably doesn’t have a huge team, so I bought it (obviously) and I have NOT stop playing it! I love the graphics and the storyline and all the characters because it feels so lifelike. Amazing game, 10/10.
