The game itself is a great idea but the BOTS know your hand and work against You to ensure your bid is incorrect. Best played with other REAL people, NOT FUN to lose every frick'n time in Solo mode !

Would be 5 stars with 2 changes
You can play this without being on the same wifi network, so that is wonderful. Plays just like the real game. Two changes would help:
1. Allow orientation to change to landscape if players turn their phone to make it easier to see your hand.
2. Enable this app for download on a windows computer (not just Apple) so we could play without straining our eyes.
Thank you for making this. It’s our family’s favorite card game!

Old but good
I love Wizard, and although this app is clearly outdated and runs like it’s made for iPhone 4, this app feels just like a real Wizard game. The CPUs are somewhat predictable but vary in skill, just like a real game. The only downfall is the online aspect of the game, which could benefit from being able to actually play against real people. You can change house rules and scoring, and the game runs smooth.

Excellent card game
I’ve tried a lot of solo card games, and this one is one of the best. It plays really well in every way. I like that you can adjust a lot of settings if you want. And I love that it saves progress at all times if you quit the app. That makes it perfect if you only have a minute or two.
The AI is good, the file size is small, and it’s good on battery. I appreciate the fair premium price with no ads, IAPs or subs.
I’ll be playing this a lot. It’s easy to learn but there’s definitely a strategy. It’s challenging but not frustrating. I’m really enjoying it. Thank you developer!

Very nice app
I was hesitant about buying this app because of the mixed reviews, but after about a week of playing it a ton (in single-player mode) I can say it is works well, is stable, and provides a fun and solid gameplay experience. I have the feeling the earlier versions may not have been as well quality-controlled, but as of mid 2022 it’s a app great and a really enjoyable game.

Apologies galore… couldn’t get to the rules screen on my new device to begin with ‘. The user indeed can specify the appropriate rules to make competition as tough as desired. So sorry …I hope the first review can be overwritten. The only star missing would be to make it playable live across family in other states…

Thanks for adding a network version
We love Wizard, and love this internet version! I play it all the time, and have definitely improved my skill at playing the game by using this app. It’s an added bonus that now you can create a networked game with up to 4 players. Great way to play with friends everywhere during the pandemic.

Soooo Slloooowww!
I’ve been playing this game at home with my family for 30 years. So when I found the app, I immediately downloaded it. Had it on my phone for at least 5 years. The latest update made it play so slow I can’t stand it! I’ve tried to get a hold of someone to help me work it out and get no response. I’ve deleted it and re-loaded it twice. I’m very disappointed

If you have to be on the same WiFi to play multiplayer then you might as well just play with real cards. I want to be able to play with my family when we aren’t together in the same place.

So disappointed
They should refund our money or fix the game. Four of us purchased the game so we could play during social distancing. It started out fun. But we could never finish a game without someone being disconnected and not about to reconnect to the game or their screen locked and couldn’t reconnect. We would start over and get a few hands in before it failed again. No trouble shooting help, no things to do to optimize the game for network play. No way to identify why it could not rejoin. No indication why the player was disconnected. Four players $16 bucks, no enjoyment.
Fix the game or refund people’s money. Don’t buy this game until they fix it or give it away for free. It’s worthless if you can’t play a full game.

What is the point.
Sitting at home social-distancing and hoped to play Wizard with friends around town. But this ridiculous and stupid app only lets you play with people on the same network. We have cards for that! My fault for not reading the reviews, but cabin fever is setting in and I was excited at the prospect of a game with friends. Wish I could get my money back.

No multiplayer
I love this game. So much so that I would love to play with friends and family members and my lover. Or I’d even like to play with people I’m not related to or perhaps people I don’t know, maybe people I wouldn’t even like in real life. I would like to play online cards with them though. There is an online option but you have to be on the same wifi as your opponents, and if we’re on the same wifi, then we’re in the same house and in that case, I’d pull out my non-digital game of Wizard. No sense in everyone running down their batteries and tying up their phones with the app version if I have the real thing. Plus, people need their phones to be able to check Instagram in between every turn. You know, just in case they miss an important post or forgot how many likes they were up to on their most recent post of their Wizard hand. Anyhow, wish I had noticed before buying this app. Doesn’t seem like they plan on updating that feature anytime soon based on the past 7 years worth of reviews.

I am confused.
I love playing the game. Have it on my iPhone and mini-iPad. This review is only of the iPad version.
When I first installed it on the iPad, it played as well as it does on the iPhone. No hang ups and plays quickly.
But over time, it is now horribly slow. I make sure no other applications are running. But it is so painfully draggy, that I have stopped playing it on my iPad.
Please ... find out why and fix it.

I love this game but it appears to cheat. Sometimes it will not play a Trump when one is led, saving them so as to trump you later. This should be fixed. Except for that, it is a great game. This does not happen all the time but does on occasion.

I guess it was my misunderstanding. You can't play with friends remotely. It's only to be played if you're all together. If you're all together then you should just play with the cards and score with the Wizard scoring ap.

Not quite right
I have played a lot of Wizard for many years.
In more than 30 games on this app I have won 1 game.
It feels like it has been set up with the odds stacked very high against the player.
It's amazing how often the AI players have the exact cards to defeat you at the exact moment they need them.

Mediocre AI, need more options
The recent update added networked games on your wifi/lan, but if you're all there you likely already have the real card game. Would be more useful to offer Internet networked games.
The computer players throw Wizards too early and unnecessarily. They also too often lead trump when they shouldn't; in real life players like this aren't invited back.
Still, the game itself is fun so even this limited version is OK.
Some suggestions for improvement:
--Better/more strategic AI
--Offer hands with 3, 5, or 6 players
--Blind bidding. (This is way more fun and difficult.)
--Internet-networked games
A bug:
The trump card is being put back in the deck.

Just like the real thing
My family and I have played Wizard for over 10 years now, so I know the game very well. When I read that there was an app for the game, I knew I had to try it, and it doesn't disappoint. I cannot recommend this game enough (especially for a great single player experience).

Love This Game!
I really love this game. My family plays the actual card game every time we get together. I hope in future updates you add multiplayer. That would be so cool to be able to start an online game with my family, or even random players.

New Update not so great
My phone downloaded the new update and I really don't like it. The screen is far too busy and confusing. If possible can you make an option to use the old interface? I paid for this game, but in it's current state would not have. If you haven't bought this game already and you are a fan of wizard, do not buy this game!!! You won't like it at all.

Hate the update
Loved the game before the update. I HATE not being able to see the other players scores during the bidding now!!!! It's important strategically to see scores especially during the last hand! Also please remove the shadow over the cards, it's hard enough to see them as it is. Now I must get out my magnifying glass. I May have to stop playing. I was playing many times every day :(

Please bring back the old version. The new version us too busy and very annoying! I'm done playing until the update with the "old" version comes back!! Used to be easy to play while standing in long lines, or commuting on train, etc. NOT enjoyable any longer. You ruined it!! Doesn't deserve even one star!
