Iove the game but on my phone android 14 it burns the battery up in a couple hours from 100% to dead...it didn't used to do this before until I upgraded my phone I download it and it says it's no longer compatible with my device then how did I download it from playstore fix the overheating the phone issue and high energy drain on the system used to be 5 stars

good game, awful port

Its a good game, marred by technical letdowns and poor UX. On a 13 inch m5 pro, performance is pretty poor, and the game is rendered at way less than native resolution, making it look like you’re viewing the game through a vaseline smeared window. It also lacks shadows for the characters, which XCOM EW has. On a tablet, the UX is just bad.. Move button is in the bottom right, actions are top left aligned. On a tablet the controls should be mostly bottom aligned, like XCOM EW was. The UI elements sometimes miss inputs too which is probably performance related. Speaking of XCOM EW, it somehow looks better than XCOM 2! Terrible port… My 2 year old low end windows laptop with integrated graphics runs this game better than my ipad pro m5 AND looks better while eating less battery. Embarrassing job, Feral. Another downside is you can’t opt to play the non-Wotc version like you can on pc. I personally don’t like the Chosen mission invasions/story. I did send a screenshot to Feral since they asked, but I’d eat my hat if they actually did anything to fix the issues. One can hope?

Worth every cent, kudos to everyone involved. Game crashes occasionally, but for a PC game played on Andorid I find that normal. Just make sure your phone specs are up to date and you won't have any problems.

Solid over-all but the AI cheats. It's ridiculous that if you just hunker your troops down in the corner of the map for a few turns, literally every enemy on the map will be there surrounding you when you are still concealed. If you move your squad in direction, they're going to follow. They don't know you're there. They're going to leave their posts in abandon any objective that makes actual sense in universe for them to defend, just to get near you. If you stay in place, you'll be facing 12

Optimize the game

Could you please optimize the game? It causes my iPad Air M3 to overheat very quickly, even more than when I play Divinity: Original Sin 2. This seems unusual. The game is fantastic, so I really hope you can optimize it.

Just 3 stars, for keeping the game mechanics originally from PC. Unfortunately, the game graphics of XCOM 2 Mobile looks blurry and low resolution on wide screen devices like on Xiaomi pad 7. I am hoping feral interactive will make the graphics of XCOM 2 just like Empire Total War Mobile - crisp, clear, and vibrant. I'm also waiting for more titles like Shogun 2, Three Kingdoms Total War, Europa Universalis V, and Crusader Kings III. More power to feral interactive!!!

Going into this as an XCOM 2 PC player, I initially bought it thinking the controls would be horrible and it'd be a lagfest on my Galaxy S21 FE. Neither ended up being true. The game plays well, the controls are basically foolproof, and besides poor antialiasing, basically the whole damn game made it into this thing. Genuinely can't tell the difference between this port and the PC version. There's even some quality of life features like Overwatch and Evac All. Color me impressed.

I play XCOM many times. Like chess the variables are countless and fun to engage the challenges. My GOTO escape. The difficulties are at a level I choose. I ask to debug the lockups. Crash reporting is helpful. Why can’t I get this game on Android phone products? Please figure out the overheating and heavy battery consumption problems. Revitalize, improve, and combine the older (Past, Special, ground, air, sea, and space) series. I almost lost my phone when I let a 20 year old play the game…

Chimera Squad would make a great mobile port. PS: if you wanted a plot like Xcom Legends to succeed: you can't make an unauthentic "mobile illusion" game. You'd have to make a real "mobile video game". One with actual RTS elements, and no live service. Just make a small game and maybe add DLC to cover the extra content. And reasonable skins, that realisticaly fit with the plot's timeline and history, to cover for longetivity profit.

Great port, very enjoyable but there's 2 things that I think you need to improve. 1st is the optimization. My device runs hitman absolution, grid autosport, company of heroes, and Napoleon total war smoothly. I can even run Warframe but Xcom2 is running on the lowest settings and still having fps drops. Hope you can fix it. Lastly, hope you can have the option to turn on and off the War of the chosen DLC. That is all, thanks for this great port.

The game by itself is tremendous masterpiece. Android port has questionable texture quality on larger screens, but only on terrain - even on quality setting. Character models are fine. Save synching for multiple devices works extremely extremely extremely poorly. like one propped sych out of 6. don't recommend playing on multiple devices. Removal of the x-com 1 from store even when ppl paid for it is a beef a wont forget.

I have just updated and uprated my previous review. Why?? Well firstly it's an amazing game. I can't add much to what others have commented and I am a huge fan of the originals back to the 1990s. But also to the customer service. I had only recently purchased the collection and the recent update glitched sticking on loading screen. I emailed the developers, got a quick reply, and ultimately they have fixed the fault.

just bought the game. same as on PC medium/low graphics, runs like a charm on my tablet. oh boy I'm excited, however randomly "issue with licence" pops up and game has to force close or restart. Unable to play more than 1 turn. Annoyig, was fine for 5-6 hours, now same issue. EDIT: I did submit a support ticket. Workaround - start the game with wifi OFF. worked for last couple of days. edit. devs got my crash report and fixed it. 5/5 port. no more issues, strongly recommend for xcom fans

Doesn't work offline. Bought the game before a long flight, updated it beforehand, logged into my Google play account. Then once offline, the game didn't get through the initial logo screen. And if you manage to get into the game and then go offline, it will restart because it couldn't validate a license. What a BS

Its an excellent port but it constantly crashing because I lost WiFi for a few seconds is extremely frustrating. Pros: The mobile controls are very intuitive, and I'm surprised at how well it runs on a Google Pixel. I don't normally bother with mobile ports of bigger PC games like this, but it genuinely is a seamless experience Cons: The DRM is infuriating. Having to exit out to the main menu, and in some cases losing 10+ minutes of progress, CONSTANTLY in a single player game is inexcusable

Unplayable

I paid for this game and downloaded it. It then requires more downloading, and repeatedly fails at the “verifying downloads” step. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled, and done this on multiple iOS devices. Unplayable game, should be pulled from the App Store until fixed.

In order to play this you need to be connected to the internet, this is not the case for pc and makes it really frustrating to play since the app will restart if you have a connection problem. This is why people resolve to piracy. Please improve your service to make it desirable than the pirated version that I'd assume to be better than this since they must've disabled internet check. I suggest the internet requirement to be disabled. Be better to your customer by not being obstinate.

Enough Bugs

I was patient as a day one installer; I get that things need fixing early in a huge release. I’ve been patient. Enough is enough. Once again the latest update has rendered my game unplayable. Oh I know the fix. And now if I want to play this game, once again I will have to delete it entirely and do a cold install. How many gigs is it again? It is an unreasonable ask, especially for high-cost alleged premium content. What was my favorite and most-played game has become a hassle to get at, which is the opposite of why I paid $$$ for this product.

This port is a ridiculously impressive achievment for cramming a 70 gb game on pc into 10 gigs on mobile. But it has some annoying features, like starting up on the wrong landscape side with no way of rotating it around. The game ran fine on my S25 Ultra until the most recent update. Now it'll run for 5 minutes and then say it can't validate the game license and close. I want my money back if I cannot play the game.

A fantastic update to a fantastic game! I play XCOM 2 regularly, I’m currently nearing the end of my 5th campaign. XCOM 2 has some of the best strategy gameplay available, plus it’s coupled with an excellent story line making this game a powerhouse! I own and play many iPad games, XCOM 2 continues to be my all time favorite.

Unplayable

Used to be a fantastic game. Now it consistently crashes to the point it’s impossible to play. Can’t finish missions to progress the story without it crashing. Game is dead

Can’t play vanilla XCOM 2

Rating this one star because the devs did not add options to toggle DLC. It appears to be impossible to play the vanilla version of this game on ios. Even when you adjust the slider for DLC soldiers to the lowest setting, they still spawn at a seemingly rate of 1:4. Very lame. Devs porting games to platforms outside of the traditional ones get away with lazy choices like this that would never fly on PC.

Great game

I really love how well this game ports over to mobile. Really great gameplay. Very intuitive and a TON of features. Only gripe is. I wish you could disable more of the DLCs. I really don’t like the WOTC units and wish I could disable everything involving them.

Fricking love!

I’ve never written a review for apps. But I have this game on my switch, steam account and now iOS and they made this game lightning quick and the graphics are just as good as steam or my switch! There is one thing that I would add though. Mods so I can make my character look even cooler than it already is!

Update

I love XCOM. It’s one of the few games I have well over 1000 Steam hrs playing. Both 1 and 2. The mobile version is dream but it needs a performance update. Or just an update in general.

Love the Game - Unplayable with Crashes

I love XCOM 2, have played through multiple campaigns on my Xbox. Bought the mobile version as I was traveling. The first 3-4 days were great as it plays exactly like the Xbox version but then around day 6-7 it started constantly crashing. I have to constantly restart missions, redo actions, and the game has genuinely become unplayable. I am writing this review after having 7 crashes in a row while trying to start a mission. On my last 40-50 times playing it has crashed around 35-40 times. While I love the game I cannot recommend anyone buys it as it becomes unplayable very early on. This occurred to me at month 3 in the in game time
