8-Bit Farm

this is less a farming game and more a manager simulator. mechanics are complicated and not explained super well.

Really wanted to like this one, but it's not quite clicking for me. Placing things effectively is challenging to the point of being frustrating, and I don't feel the same addictive pull that I get from their other games. Would have been a 3-star, but any paid / non-freemium game gets +1 star from me; they're so hard to find, especially in the sim genre, and without Kairosoft, there'd be almost none. I'm a very loyal customer.

At first when I started the game, I asked myself why is every one of the customizations European? then I saw the Japanese instructions and was like "ah, okay." seriously this is getting old. it takes minutes to include a brown sprite. at this point in 2025 yall are just defiantly being non inclusive.

Too complicated from get-go, throwing all mechanics at you at once, forcing to go watch guides on internet. Not particularry interesting or standing out, but still fun. The problem is, i just don't understand how to go into positive income. Events have same explanation yet all different, no clue how to win them. Many lvl up popus are annoying and lacks speed up button, cus most of the time you are idling.

The prices of things in-game are stupid high, and Livestock, fields,flowers etc all look disjointed because they don't link in a square and instead look like an L or a hotdog bun. Arts great, but $4,000 for a flower? 6k for tomato? Wonder if they ever played stardew valley.

This game was a bit different from the other Kairosoft games, but I ended up really enjoying the mechanics once I understood what all the stats meant. It is therapeutic, and setting up combos and optimizing "routes" that visitors will follow (like food stall to trash can to sink) was a lot of fun for me. Upgrading crops and New Game + mechanics were creative and enjoyable in a way unique from other games from this publisher.

Frame rate issues

Making a new game using the points is pointless. Contests don't save, facilities only keep SOME of what you had, and only the combo list saves completely. There's too many bugs in this game i don't recommend buying it or wasting your time on play pass trying it. Im uninstalling this because i wasted my time hoping to get rank A only to be unable to in the time allowed!

Cute and cozy! I really enjoyed making my own little farm business. It's like Farmville, but you don't have to pay for everything you do, or wait ridiculous amounts of time. I need more like this one. I've played a few of this creators games and this is my favorite one.

It's a good game, but the title is misleading. It is not a farming game like Stardew, but more like Kairosoft's other "park management" games. There is a focus on tourist satisfaction & facilities, although there is crop and flower growing, too. The workers care for the crops, so there is no watering or harvesting mechanic.

Fun. Then boring. You need road, you need 4 veggies, you need t3 fruit, you need 5 flowers, you need 2 livestock ... The you need, you need, and you need with no room and only able to use up to two slots away makes the late game a drawl. Badly needs a pause and rearrange button for late game to help the sprawling affect. 3/5

It has potential but whoever made this did not have any experience making pixel games. Everything you see in the game has a different frame rate giving it the illusion that you're lagging insanly bad and I personally cannot stomach it. An example is your character moves at around 15 fps maybe more around 10. The scrolling of the camera is clearly around 7 fps and the animation of the scarecrow is around 4 fps and that effect that the scarecrow gives off is 1 fps it's jawing.

This game has potential but the game logic feels dumb to me. The tutorial is insanely long. I've come back twice now and haven't finished it - but the tutorial also tells me to do things that the game doesn't allow. I had to place a lodge for workers. Was given two. Placed two. Still see a hand pointing at the now grayed-out lodge icon. Buttons need to be pressed multiple times to get an action done. I am glad I tried it on Google game pass - going back to stardew valley now.

I love this game! I’m a big fan of Kairosoft in general but this one may be my favorite (sorry game dev story) I have sunk sooo many hours into this game. Currently on year 50 and I still have so much to unlock and contests to win. The quality and depth of the game is on point and definitely is a game that I will replay over and over

Game wouldn't load. Access to data denied. Reboot for storage. Deleted a lot of apps on my phone trying to figure it out, should be plenty of space. Bummer, really wanted play this. I deleted and re downloaded to see if that would work. It didn't. Hopefully it won't charge me twice and I get fully refunded. Any suggestions? It's a 16GB phone with a 32GB SD card. Is that really not enough?

I really really really hate the mini games. It does nothing but ruins my game experience. Also, it is so hard to rearrange everything once you got a large farm. I hate moving the tiles one by one.

This game is so cute and so addicting! I'm not sure what it is, but once I start playing it I just can't stop. The style is adorable, and the concept is really nifty. I love Kairosoft and games like this, would definitely recommend to a friend. However, my animals keep leaving their pens. Is this supposed to happen??? Aside from that, love it!

Constructive criticism

I didn't like the way that the menu and GUI interfered with the gameplay and how it differed from the classic kairosoft games. I didn't like the way that the pixelated graphics conflicted with the hi def graphics, and finally it seemed like there was too much blocking the actual game display. Sorry one more thing, why is the move or demolish made in the style of 99% of freemium games?

Back to Basics

I love this game. I feel like it went back to the greatness and playability of some of the older games, which many of the newer ones have lacked. It takes awhile to figure the game out but it's fun regardless.

Excellent game, feels like a revival for Kairosoff

I really enjoyed 8-Bit Farm, it's got a good amount of content, a balance of difficulty and playability, and it's a fairly replayable game! It reminds me of some of the old classics like Dungeon Village and Edo Towns but the farming aspect is unique and refreshing. Graphics look great, too! Well worth a shot and much better than the freemium games Kairosoft had been distracted by.

The tutorial is not helpful and takes way too long. The sprites do not look as good as in other Kairosoft games. Menus are not intuitive, actions take too many taps to accomplish. I've seen better from this company.

Pocket Harvest on Steriods

I always feel like people give terrible reviews stating it was hard to understand or play because they prefer to be told clean, clear, and cut what they need to do really quickly. I enjoy kind of guessing and plugging things in. Really enjoyed this game. Best one released in a while. Just like pocket harvest but more complex.

Not one of their best

Different interface that most of their other games which really doesn't serve this game well. Found it to be boring and just not fun. Normally love Kairosoft games and have virtually all of them, but this one is a miss for me. Pass it by. Try Pocket Harvest instead. That game was far superior to this one.
