The game itself is a decent, 3.5/5 Phoenix Wright game, but I'm furious about the "security" requirement of an internet connection. The best place for me to play this is on a plane, but if there's no wifi you're stuck. Even if you start the game before take-off, it will still kill it because you don't have a constant connection. This is disgusting. I paid for a game, I should be able to play it any time I choose. It should not be hobbled. I would not buy another game from this publisher.

This game is a scam. They don’t warn you beforehand if it isn’t compatible with your phone and it only says it in the tiny details I’m the App Store. I’ve never had an issue with a game being compatible with my phone or not because usually the App Store says something. But once you get the game you won’t get a refund if it doesn’t work so save your money for something better than this.

Solid entry. Great characters, as always, and Athena is a good addition to the cast. But the actual trials were a bit of a downgrade. p.s Spirt of Justice, and pretty much every ace attorney game that isn't the original trilogy isn't able to be purchased for newer android systems, and with the 3ds eshop closing, there is no way to experience these games unless you already own them, or emulate them

As a Ace attorney fan I have to say this one is good! (Not the best, not the worst but a solid game). Athena is a good addition but it lacks screen time to develop fully. The problem is the app... it sometimes crashes... but this is not my main concern as it constantly autosaves so you just lose a couple of seconds... the problem is that you require internet connection to play the game (or at least start playing even after a crash), making it not suitable to play on the tube, plane or abroad.

Another engrossing and hilarious turn for our favorite defense attorney. Unfortunately, as I've been playing it on Android 13 I've observed the game to hang on playing the full screen animations. When this happens, my progress is not saved and I've had to restart or load a manual save. I think I'll be able to continue the game by saving frequently, as the application only appears to hang when it needs to play a second animation. Regardless I hope the developers will address this bug soon.

Great game, but one bug.

The game itself was great! It was fun and the music is catchy. However, there is one bug in the DLC, After completing Turnabout Reclaimed, you get access to Phoenix’s Nostalgic Sweater in the costume menu, but after I got it, I was unable to go back into the costume menu. Please fix.

Running on a Samsung Galaxy S10+, the sidebar takes up almost an inch of screen space, when I know this isn't the intention. If you could add support for larger screens such as this one, it's a five star rating. The Ace Attorney games are phenomenal and fun, but this is enough of an issue to genuinely detract from the experience. I see a planned update coming, so I hope this is sorted out.

Great Ace Attorney game, I loved all the twists and turns, and the mixed media with the almost 3d, and anime cutscenes was awesome. Sadly, I can't give it full marks. As a lot of people already mentioned, cutscenes get stuck in a black screen the first time it's viewed and I had to restart the game to continue from an earlier save. I wish it would auto save before each of them, but in lieu of that: save often or risk losing a lot of progress; you never know when it's going to play a cutscene

I see reviews complaining about technical issues with in-app purchases and sound cutting out. But I haven't had any issues with the game. This is a great title in the Ace Attorney series. Cases are enticing and full of twists as always. The new "mood matrix" feature enables a fun way of visualizing witness testimony.

Buggy in iOS 16 but still fun!

If you are running ios16, it’s going to be a bit buggy. It will freeze every so often. One thing that has helped is playing another episode in a different save file for a bit. It somehow makes the frozen one works. Otherwise it’s a fun game!

the game is great, apart from the crashing before every cutscene. there's no warning for those either, so I can't save beforehand when I don't know when it'll happen. I love the Ace Attorney series. I recently finished Apollo Justice and had a stellar time. But after the first trial, I felt disappointed in DD. It turns out this game was not written/directed by the original Shu Takumi. The game often feels too hard or too easy; sometimes answers are just given to you because you'd never figure it out. There's also a glaring flaw where a suspect is allowed to waltz back onto a crime scene that the police forgot to tape off or even investigate (??)

One thing I dislike is the constant need to be connected to the internet, I lost a decent amount of progress due to it disconnecting... however, other than that, this game is wonderful! It was genuinely really funny and entertaining, and probably my favourite of the series! I love Athena Cykes as a new protagonist, and Simon Blackquill is such a cool character too, I would strongly recommend this game. Major bug in Android 12 - possible black screen freeze whenever a cutscene plays. If you exit the game after the freeze, you will have to reload from your last save which is a huge bummer. This doesnt always happen but you have no control on how and when it triggers.

Gotta love the fact that it's now in 3D and has amazing new characters. Although, this might be happening since i'm playing on a chromebook but for some reason the screen likes to glitch and show black sometimes when i'm either on the court record (notes, evidence, profiles, always shows up), examining the areas, sometimes when i'm in the talking category, and when I move to different areas. It's fine and doesn't do anything to the game, but it gets very annoying very quickly.

In all honesty, this game deserves a 5/5. But this Android PORT is what makes it a 3/5. CONS - Audio is f-ed up. During Athena's "psychotherapy sessions", the audio goes wonky and turns into ear-rape. - There are quite a few anime cutscenes that are sprinkled throughout the story campaign. Half the times, the screen goes black and the only thing we can do is to restart the game. (Thankfully, at times like these, the auto-save feature makes sure you don't have to replay too much dialogue)

Look these games are charming as hell—although I kinda miss the game play of the OG trilogy—but two things on iOS 15.2: - the audio cuts out occasionally when swapping between apps and most frequently when resuming game after screen time limits. (I’m an adult and I can play my game 17 more times after the screen time alert if I want :p) - costumes DLC won’t load & it crashes the game. Otherwise 9/10 will keep playing goofy game.

I mean, we're what 5-6 games into the series, could use a lot less handholding. The culprits are so out of place and jarring you'd most likely be able to guess them either during the intro, or the first 10 minutes into the investigation.

Worked perfectly, except for costume DLC

Since I got back into this series and decided to try out the iOS ports, I thought I should write a review for these games (seeing all the negative ones made me nervous). This one worked perfectly and I had zero issues with anything, until I finished the DLC case and unlocked a costume. The game crashes every time I try to access the costumes menu. Luckily, I didn’t buy the costumes DLC anyway because I didn’t really care to, so I recommend not bothering with that. The rest of the game is totally fine! If it matters, I played this on a 7th generation iPad (10.5), fully updated to 14.7.

I’ve now purchased This content twice. This app falsely offers a “restore” option. Even after pressing that option it continuously stated Failed to restore. So... in an effort to finish the game I went ahead and purchased an episode (I already owned on an older device when I purchased the whole game) only to be stopped cold with the same unable to restore message. What a rip off. I purchased this game and still have access to it on my IPhone XS Max but my current phone, the iPhone 12 Pro, is where I want to continue my journey with Phoenix Wright. Ripped Off

I don’t write reviews for games but this is a literal rip off and I don’t understand how a major gaming company can allow something like this. I paid 15.00 dollars for the rest of the game. I did this a while back, going through several of the AA games. I wanted to further support the company by buying the extra episode recently. Tried to buy, didn’t work. I deleted and reinstalled the app and now suddenly I have access to none of the content I purchased. This is horrible to do to paying customers. Disappointed compatibility

I can run the game on my iPhone 6S with iOS 14 but it stuck on purchase restore, which I don’t think should be a gating issue as long as the game is excusable on a device. Definitely I don’t want to pay again to something I already paid before, and it also stops me to purchase other in-app episode or content on Capcom game apps. What a waste

How Peculiar...

Yeah okay as you’ve probably already read about a ton; once you purchase a chapter it doesn’t actually purchase. or rather, it’ll SAY you purchased it but you won’t be able to play said chapter you paid for. However in my case, after restoring and purchasing a few times i was able to unlock the second chapter with Apollo! which in my book, is considered a semi win. considering out of all the characters, Apollo’s MVP anyways- but that’s the weird thing! i purchased ALL the chapters! yet only apollo’s unlocked! mayhaps it was destiny ohoho. but seriously i’m super glad it was Apollo’s that got unlocked phew. i’m still really upset about the fact that the other chapters don’t seem to be unlocking. and i’m REALLY not in the mood to delete the app after i got so excited for it. especially after i finished Apollo Justice buzzing with eagerness to know more about MY BOY APOLLO. this is really annoying, i just wanted to play a great series with GREAT characters, and now i’m worried about the whole 15 bucks i’ve wasted on a game i cant even fully PLAY. also, REALLY don’t wanna purchase a whole new console solely for the ace attorney games. Warning to users with more updated OSes

I love Ace Attorney games. Great stories and characters. However, this Dual Destinies port does not work well with updated OS. It can be downloaded and installed and open to the menu, etc, but it WILL NOT acknowledge or update any in-app purchases. So if you bought an episode or all of the episodes, the game will not acknowledge them and make it look like you need to purchase the in-app content all over again. I had to ask for a refund, since I can’t even play the later episodes of this game due to the game being too old and not acknowledging my purchased episodes. :(

I bought all of the episodes (with iOS 14) a few days ago, and like most reviews say, the episodes wouldn’t load after purchase. I saw a tutorial on how to fix this. After purchasing the episodes, restore purchase with airplane mode on three or four times and then restore with airplane mode off and I swear to you it DOES WORK. If you’re on iOS 14 and purchase the rest of the game, it just doesn’t work, when you get to the chapter select screen it tells you to purchase the chapter and restoring purchases doesn’t do anything. Cannot play

So I had bought and downloaded this app a while ago when I decided to download all of the ace attorney games at once. I have been playing them in order and buying the game sets as I made it to the next game. I finally got to Dual Destinies and played the first free game. Then I went to purchase the set. I did the purchase but the content did not download so I could not play. This is when I saw the description on the app when I went to read reviews to see if it was just a recent issue or bug. I had been playing everything on pre iOS 14 software, mainly on iOS 13 since I started all of these games back in the beginning of 2020 because I’d covid. Clearly many devices and software are supported past iOS 11. Unfortunately I didn’t purchase the in app games before iOS 14 was installed and iOS 14 is where this is broken on my device. Even if they didn’t guarantee support past iOS 11, how do you even offer an app to be downloaded if it can’t continue be supported? Who keeps their iOS software from 3 years ago?

I advise you do not buy this. Even though the first episode works completely fine, the content after that does not working on phones that are newer then the iPhone X. I happen to have had an old phone lying around that could still play this so it wasn’t a complete waste of money. I’m a big fan of the series and the games are great, but the app doesn’t work. I payed for the rest of the episodes and it won’t let me play the game. When I contacted developers, they didn’t offer to fix the app or help me try to play at all. Buy the game on the switch or the DS or something if your phone is not on the supported iOS (which it shouldn’t be because the supported version of iOS is 3 years old😑). Not bad but...

It was good at first but then when I finish the first episode u have to pay for more and I already bought dis one dollar and now I have to add more in it? I don’t think it worth it if u have to pay for more but the first episode was rlly good tho
