it's alright. I can definitely see the inspirations from theory of magic, though it's much less detailed. I sincerely hope this will continue to get updates in the future as it definitely has potential, and more UI changes are necessary. I enjoyed my time overall, and finished a playthrough in about 9 hours. I repeat, the UI is very clunky and changes would be definitely appreciated. the drop down menus in particular not staying up and instead closing when something new is clicked annoys me.

over all I'll say very well done and the choices opening and closing others for how you want your life to develop in game. The only issue I have is that once you beat it once it allows you to put points in stuff unfortunately it won't let you start a new game or I haven't figured out how yet. Once the full version is out I'll gladly review again. 4/5 just for a single play through but depending on how it the second and after plays I'll probably move it up to a 5/5

I've had a great time with Beggar's Life. Progression is a puzzle, and there's enough branching "story" to this that I'll be playing through it a couple more times at least. Absolutely worth its cost.
