wow... who ever thought of changing such a masterpiece dialogue in this game for whatever this is??? it hurts my head having to hear this gibberish while playing the game. i won't give it less than 5 stars because i don't mean to hurt the game itself
- Alexander Guzman · v1.0.6
it's a great game but there's no dynamic control, which sucks.
- Ruphyze · v1.0.6
Duuudddeeeeeee!!! This brings back memories of high school for me! Perfect port AND it's controller supported! What's not to love about it?!!!
- Samuel F · v1.0.6
My backbone 👍 and No cloud data 😢
- AuraCharsX · v1.0.6
You should've not removed the money glitch! Most people who bought this game prolly finished this game before. We play this game again for nostalgia but we don't want to waste too much time farming to buy the duplicater. Anyways, nice port. Nice game! Brings back memories.
- Jeff Jularbal · v1.0.4
nostalgia and fun.

Controls are a pain, but very fun and nostalgic! Runs well

Fix jump button on controller because when change to Japanese language it's change from A to B.
- Bro Jeed · v1.0.6
Would be an amazing game port, but you can't transfer your save files like any other game. When you get a new phone and transfer them Uber, this is the third time I've had to get a new phone and lost all of my files. There has to be a way to get them back, fix this.Google
- Jonathan Holland · v1.0.6
If you get stuck waiting for the left clock tower statue to move to access the colosseum and unlock mist form, load your save instead of selecting Continue.
- Christopher Hallstrom · v1.0.6
beware, this is a scam dont download. doesnt work and you cant get your money back.
- Francis McG · v1.0.6
keep on crashing for no reason. wth
- Kristan Ramos · v1.0.6
Bought this because I needed something to when I was bored. The controls are a tad funky, but I got used to them real quickly. Would recommend.
- Logan Carroll (AurelliA) · v1.0.6
Too hard to control on mobile. Controls are not as responsive as they should be and there's no way to change sensitivity. No tutorial to explain control layout. Its all trial and error. Very frustrating. Gameplay is straight forward. Graphics are old school which is fine. But the controls are the worst.
- L K · v1.0.6
Best Konami mobile software available so far.
- K Wilson · v1.0.2
Currently broken, crashes on launch on Android 16, was working before.

One of the greatest games of all time (mostly imo)
- Logan Boone · v1.0.6
Edit: As of June 2026, still no ability to remap controller buttons. Game is unplayable on some Bluetooth controllers, including the very popular 8BitDo line. Origjnal review: This needs the ability to remap bluetooth controller buttons. The default layout makes my 8Bitdo SN30 Pro practically unusable.
- Vinny M · v1.0.6
best game i ever played so far, really such a nostalgia
- DARK SAMURAI
Unfortunately, the highly unresponsive touch pad controls make the game borderline unplayable. According to some players on the Castlevania subreddit a controller would alleviate this, but I neither own, nor plan on buying one just to make this (UNREFUNDABLE!) 3 euro purchase worthwhile. It seems an emulator is the only route.
- yav
controls unresponsive
- Dwain Lofton · v1.0.6
Best game on this cursed platform full of trash.
- Andres b · v1.0.6
I'm an avid gamer and hit my Castlevania stride with Symphony Of The Night (Sotn) when it was released on the OG Playstation. I thought this would be a good way to relive some nostalgia, but there are a few problems. 1) no button guide or custom mapping. 2) controller or bust. 3) different voice actors and dialogue script changes. 4) I just got Mist form and only managed to use it once accidentally no matter the button/trigger. it's not going to be easy, but I will press on.
- vulpecula _et_nox · v1.0.6
game would be fun but your controls don't work. you have no settings to adjust the controls. if you get stuck in a position everyone you start the game you die. have to clear the game to start over Everytime. need to seriously fix your controls
- Robert Martin · v1.0.6
Loved the app before the Oct 06 2025 update, but something about that update rendered it unplayable and refuses to re download. Months of trying and re trying the troubleshooting tips and reaching out failed to solve it so just have to call it quits as just not worth the frustration. 😓
- Nightshade Bane
this is the worst version of the game lol
- David Lopez · v1.0.6
i absolutely love this
- Hunter Barbarossa · v1.0.6
wish they would've left the old dramatic voice lines
- Deimantė · v1.0.6
It's a good enough port to recommend if you're interested in the game and have a Bluetooth controller. If you DON'T, though, the touch controls aren't that great due to the awkward spacing, making more precise attacks hard to pull off.

SOTN is one of the greatest games of all time. Mobile port has some issues, but nothing using a controller can't fix, mostly. I wish we had a toggle to use the original PS1 voices and all that, because its part of this games charm. What does this version do different than others? The on-screen controls allow you to cast a spell instead of having to input the command for it every time. Spam Soul Steal and Tetra Spirit! Also you can continue directly from the last screen you enter from the menu.
- Noah Janiszewski · v1.0.6

Controller Bugs. Mist form with my gamepad is broken. Only works right if I unplug the gamepad while playing. No settings to map or explain controller buttons.
- Chad Dayton · v1.0.6
Never played a Castlevania before this. This was a lot of fun and worked/played great. A good intro to the series. please make credit roll faster tho wow
- Greg Phillips · v1.0.6
Obviously it's a really good game, and the price is great, but the controls really suck. Jumping and attacking on the mobile version is painful, but you can bind spells you know to a single button instead of the fighting game input, so I relied on tetra spirit a lot. Also it counts as you having a complete file so you can get the ring of Varna and stuff on the first playthrough. Even with the bad control layout it's worth it for the price.
- J Allen · v1.0.6
Great game! imagine if it was on steam and given sequels! Konami pls

great game. i missed out on this when it came out on ps1 because i did not know about it and for £2.99 its worth getting it on android. would you consider bringing rondo of blood. the dominus collection and the one thats Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls, thats on ios to android
- Jason Perry · v1.0.6
first (and best) Castlevania game I've played
- Nicholas Woodrow · v1.0.6
I've immensely enjoyed this game. The discovery of new elements feels rewarding and exciting and the music, design and storyline is equally delightful. I was rarely bored and felt driven to go and experience each ending. I'd say the major drawback is the awkward controls. edit: attempting to revisit this game but it wont let me install the game and says I need to purchase it!
- shaw419
this is a very good way to play sotn, and it has definitive features from both the north american and japanese versions
- Dade Lowe · v1.0.6
Decent port, but needs controller support.
- kdn_fgc · v1.0.5
Idk what I did but the clock room's big clock froze and isn't updating to game time. Unfortunately (no spoilers) this blocks a lot of the later game. This is still a great game, the touch controls are a bit of a challenge but having a game anywhere is worth it. Thank you, Konami workers!
- unique name 54612 · v1.0.5
Awful port of this game. The controls are unresponsive and slow leading to frustrating gameplay. Original game was 10/10. This app version not so much
- gamestop lives · v1.0.5
Game is nearly perfect, and strangely easy to play with the on-screen buttons. However, when connected to any Bluetooth audio output, the audio is slowed down considerably. Doesn’t break the game, but it does make it a disorienting experience.
- the dopamine fiend · v1.0.5
The game freezes when u get to the royal palace and go thru the bottom left entrance.alucard just freezes at the red door, and I have to keep starting over.i thought it was my phone. But a year later it still does this
- SmithNwesson3874 · v1.0.5
game itself is flawless, however there is room on the borders to move the buttons OUT of the actual game area, and enough room to have all 3 of alucards transformations be their own buttons. on a ps4/5 controller, the map is bound to right stick up/down which can be glitchy and frustrating with the map getting 'stuck' on screen, being able to rebind buttons would solve this completely. address this, its not even hard. i could do it myself.
- nniyuo · v1.0.5
On-screen controls are somewhat unresponsive unless hit very precisely, and when one’s character dies the game saves to rather awkward points, such as mere seconds before demise; this results in either just reliving the moment of death over and over again, or restarting from the beginning. The second option wouldn’t be a problem except for the absolutely unnecessary opening ‘level’ that sets up the game’s main play. It takes too long and there’s no real point to it expect for introducing the main storyline.
- Glum Slasher · v1.0.5
Always was curious about this series as a kid. Now I can play it as I please! It’s a really great game, super fun visuals and the gameplay is good. Totally rad game.
- Steve the animal · v1.0.5
as stated, controls need work. Inputs don't read half the time.
- negiek · v1.0.5
I can’t seem to move and then control are trash
- Paulraul · v1.0.5
The game is perfect its the trash controller thats the issue i have to tap left or right multiple times to get alucard to move causing me to get hit
- deonta13 · v1.0.5
Wonderful game but absolutely terrible controls
- Cleverpot Official · v1.0.5
5 stars would be there IF you could move and/or make the controls bigger. You need a controller to play this. So get yourself a PS4 controller or similar. But that definitely changes it all!
- Harlock review · v1.0.5
Voices are different and audio drops
- Smurfdrums666 · v1.0.5
I don’t recommend this, especially to new players. SotN is one of my favorite games of all time. I only really decided to get this version so I could tear through the castle as Richter when bored on the go. Some issues unfortunately. Controls poorly. You can use a controller, but that kind of defeats the purpose of being mobile. My experience with a ps5 controller wasn’t great either. Even easy spells like Dark Metamorphosis I had issues with for some reason. For touch controls, I think letting the player drag the right thumb from the jump to the attack button could help, and a button to activate the special vertical jump like we have with Richters dash (great idea btw) would go a long way. Some audio glitching, sputtering sound. Also, this version is basically the psp port, which doesn’t look as good and has inferior new voices for characters. An option to restore the original audio would be nice. I know it was only $2.99, but I would pay more for a better product. I know I sound whiny, but there is potential here. I’d love to play all the old castlevania games on mobile, that would be a blast.
- fiskwjvofowiekvosk eh j · v1.0.5
A masterpiece. The art, gameplay, story, and music are all top-tier. The only shortcoming is that the Inverted Castle feels slightly underwhelming; thankfully, it features entirely new monsters and bosses. The iOS port this time is also very well done—compared to the PS version, it adds Maria as a playable character, supports controllers, and has a redesigned UI. Big thumbs-up!
- 瓦尔特 卡尔 · v1.0.5
It’s a great game but hard to play on an iPhone.
- Pea- A 43 · v1.0.5
This is my favorite game on the PlayStation. If this version came first I would have hated it. The feel of this game is very choppy and the fact that I needed Marie’s help on the first boss was ridiculous. DO NOT BUY!!!!
- WILLTHEFARTER77 · v1.0.5
This used to be a good port of the game, but is now unplayable past a fairly early point, due to Alucard’s Form of Mist power no longer functioning.
- Deadbeard · v1.0.5
Castlevania is such a cool franchise and porting one of their best games to mobile is genius. I recommend everyone play with a controller to fix the wonkyness of touch controls but other than that this is a great way to experience one of the best castlevania games ever made. I hope Konami does this with more Castlevania titles because they would be amazing.
- firethemusk · v1.0.5
Ridiculously bad controls. Never played it before but the game looks cool. Probably pretty great if people could actually play it properly …
- 853678542678 · v1.0.5
Absolutely horrendous controls, weird load times, bad graphics -not that I was expecting much, awful UI. Do jot buy, I wish I could get my money back.
- antimike · v1.0.5
Original game is really good. But too bad this version on the ioad has horrible controls…. Its make the game unplayable. I wish it were better.
- Sssskkkkieynfhysrbekkcn · v1.0.5
The game itself is awesome but ruined experience by Touch controls. Combat is impossible with touch screen controls. So I would only recommend playing using your Bluetooth Xbox or PlayStation controller and its a 5* game Also, try ---Left>right>Up>Down+attack 🤙🏼
- Sdhbeyioqw · v1.0.5
You won’t win the Apple Design Award if you don’t include: iCloud saves Broader controller support (class compliant) Universal app - incl Apple TV Missing original content from the PSX But seriously, cloud saves.
- jwamin · v1.0.5
Gameplay is nostalgic but you die easily and it’s kind of hard to use controls and I’m an old school long time gamer..developers need to tweet it a little and thanks for bringing this back. Incredible game
- Grants Tunes · v1.0.5
I bought this game because I’ve always heard of it and I wanted to experience it for the first time. The first time playing, everything was great and I actually kinda love the game already. However, the second time or so, I started to experience a glitch where literally all of the audio is slowed and pitched down and sounds demonic. This happens about 50% of times I open the game. This honestly ruined the experience a bit for me and I’m wondering if I could fix it somehow or at least bring it to the attention of the developers? Thank you so much.
- Jon15605 · v1.0.5
This should have controller support if the developer is going to file claims to remove the roms online
- Goomba TG · v1.0.5
This is one of the best games for PS1 and it’s always been on my phone but the controls are nothing like bloodstained…. Until now. They have improved the touch screen controls. It’s much more playable now. It’s still not as on par as running GAMMA emulator with SotN or running Delta emulator running Aria of Sorrows where the touch controls feel perfect. Please keep Improving the controls guys, and thank you.
- Anon Kain · v1.0.5
The controls simply do not work. How hard is it to make a working button?
- Arawn Emrys · v1.0.2
please bring this to the Apple TV and Mac!
- N Peak · v1.0.2
It plays the same, sure, and it’s the same game that I’ve been aching to play for so long, but the attack buttons are so small, I keep leaping in front of an enemy and tapping the screen frantically only to dumbfoundedly getting smacked in the face without moving a muscle. And gods, why… WHY did they have to change the lines? -“Die, monster. You do not belong in this world.” -“It is not by my hand that I was once again given flesh. I was brought here by *humans* that wished to pay *me* tribute” I can understand not being able to get the original VAs for the rerecording, but these sound like interns that tried to recall the dialogue by memory without having played the game… It. Is. Painful. It’s trying to feed into my nostalgia, but it’s just reminding me that I’m not playing the same game…
- An'Ggrath · v1.0.2
Love the game, needs custom controls and options. The controls make the game exponentially harder than it needs to be.

Trust me on this, it just is. This was my first Castlevania game I ever played, and now the Castlevania series is one of my fav series, I’m already collecting all the old Castlevania games. The story is great, the gameplay is great, everything about this game is just no joke, hands down great. You just have to trust me on it. This game in my opinion has zero flaws, except maybe the older 90s look if you don’t like that I guess, but even if you don’t like the 90s look for some reason, it’s still worth it to play this game. I mean the gameplay is already incredibly long, but the fact that they double the amount of gameplay by making an inverted castle with a brand new map to explore, new monsters to fight, and more, the puzzles are fun even if they are somewhat irritating at times. One of the things I love most about this is that even tho there is a leveling system, you don’t have to spend time in this game grinding for stats for even a second as long as your determined, skilled, or both. Altogether great game well worth 3 dollars.
- Humanusually · v1.0.2
I recently purchased this game after talking with my children about how it was one of my favorite Castlevania titles. The controls on the iPhone version of this is so bad. It’s either too sensitive or not sensitive enough to hitting the right-side buttons that *aren’t* jump, though that one seems to be a little tricky itself.
- ShenDraeg · v1.0.2
Why lock down japanese into japanese menu! Give us option to select different language in dub and menu!
- enzoshadow · v1.0.2
I was super excited to purchase this game as it was one of my top 3 favorite Old school games. However, to my disappointment the In game controller is absolutely awful. When jumping forward it stops in midair a lot and the action buttons are small and a lot of the times I push it and it fails. Unfortunately, I will have to see if I can use a Bluetooth controller or the backbone so that I can enjoy the game. I wish you guys would take a look at this maybe make the d-pad float and make the action buttons a little bigger.
- Jimboojamm · v1.0.2
Game keeps glitching and taking me to the Dracula boss fight. Hearts also don’t heal you making the game almost impossible. Dracula also won’t take damage.
- ybnnnnnnnn · v1.0.2
Once again Konami drops the ball on one of their most impressive releases. There is no sound through any external devices, from speakers Bluetooth and analog, Apple TV, direct hdmi, nothing.
- The Dude32413 · v1.0.2
Game is fun, however playing on ipad the controls aren’t great & the action buttons are so small they are easy to miss which can get you killed.
- Dogbert99 · v1.0.2
Terrible touch controls great game with a controller, I wouldn’t bother with trying without a controller. This is not nostalgia talking as I never played the game when it released as I was not even born at the time.
- Porkchop04 · v1.0.2
I’ll start by saying I love the Castlevania franchise to pieces, and was exited to be able to play SoTN. The only thing that I’d say about it is that the controls are a bit wonky, and I wish there was an option to play the game with the other voice acting. If the controls and options for different voice acting were changed or added, this would definitely be a 5 star
- RockWolf863 · v1.0.2
I want to play this on my phone with the smallest controller I can get, which is the 8bitdo micro. But guess what? They bound the “show map” action to pressing up on the right analog stick. If your controller lacks a right analog stick, then no map for you! There’s no option to pull it up from the pause screen, either. You cannot remap any buttons within the game, it all has to be done at the iOS level which has pretty lacking implementation. Stick directions can’t be mapped to face buttons, of which I have three on this controller going to waste. The PSP version had more/better features. I hate that so many people’s first exposure to this masterpiece is going to be a flawed version with crappy on screen buttons. But Konami is king when it comes to rushed, botched ports of their back catalogue.
- jeff356864257985347996rrruiiy · v1.0.2
I love this game so I downloaded it but it has no sound!!! It there anything you can do about this?
- ZCRo · v1.0.2
I’m glad they used hot keys for the spells in this game however hyper jumping is very important in this game and I’d like the developers to know that hyper jumping in this version of the game is extremely difficult and almost nearly impossible to accomplish without a hot key for it. Please if you’re gonna make an update please include a hot key for the hyper jump as the (⬇️⬆️+jump) doesn’t seem to work well enough to use properly. Thank you. Otherwise I’m having a good time with the game.
- PaladinFirebrand · v1.0.2
Recently got a phone that requires bluetooth for headphones/earbuds, and the game audio is slowed down to 1/2 or 2/3rds speed when being played with bluetooth on. Given how otherwise great the music is in this game, it's unacceptable to have to listen to it like this if I want to use headphones. Totally ruins the experience. This isn't a latency issue either- I don't have this problem with any other kind of app or function with bluetooth other than this game.
