- el mejor delivery · v2.7.4

Good, simple app.

I have only used the puzzles section so far. It is good, but with one flaw. The software only recognizes one solution to the puzzle. When I am using a queen/rook or 2 rooks to checkmate the opponent’s king, many times either piece can be moved to effect the checkmate, yet this software only recognizes when one of the pieces is used and not the other. It does give me a chance to look at another solution to the puzzle, though.

As soon as I paid for this app it started freezing, glitching, and shut down my phone so I had to do a hard reset because my phone stopped responding while playing. This did not happen once but dozens of times. As soon as you pay the app stops working.

- Chesster777 · v2.7.4

Freezes

The game freezes constantly, after every move. Literally locks my phone up for a few seconds. Thought it might be an OS issue, erased my device, set up as new downloaded again same thing happened. Not a hard ware issue either playing on a 6 month old iPhone 16 pro. Wasted $2 on the no ads deleting for good

- Grea Garcia · v2.7.4

- jdosjwov · v2.7.4

App Crashes A lot

I really enjoy playing the game and have developed greatly in my chess skills. However, recently the apps starts crashing in the middle of games and that can be quite annoying.

- Bigjoe41 · v2.7.4

Outrageous and obnoxious ads

Ads are usually fine but these ones don’t have quality checks and I assume they actually violate ios terms of service. At a minimum accessibility violation. The x buttons on ads open App Store instead of actually closing.

- Arctemple · v2.7.4

Remove draws or add option

The draw rule is utter bs, you’d be a move or 2 away from winning and it forces you to draw aka lose because you’re about to win, literally designed to ensure you lose and there’s no way to turn off this rule so you’re stuck with these draws that ruin your win rate.

- Love y at · v2.7.4

A good game but…

The game play is not the issue with this game. This issue is you can never win a match because every time you pin the opponents king it says it is a stalemate and no one wins.

- booklover365 · v2.7.4

Note

One recommendation: It’s better for players to have a right to choose whether he/she wants to be able to undo his/her move or not to be able to! It’s more exciting to face the consequences of your inaccurate moves!! Specifically for pros…

- AmirHkhalifa · v2.7.4

Skills

Im getting much better at chess

- A. Ivey · v2.7.4

Doesn’t let me win

Whenever it wins it just can, simple as that, but when I win I have to watch an ad to undo my move and try again even though I have them in checkmate. It calls it a tie even though I did win.

- xoxo.pepper · v2.7.4

Great “simple” chess app

This is a great “simple” chess app for when you just want to practice your chess skills without the annoying “extra features” and gimmicks. The level system is a great way to learn if you are a beginner. The only feature I would love to add is the ability to “save” your past games for later review. Currently you can only review your game immediately after playing. Afterwards, it is gone forever.

- fudro · v2.7.4

App doesn’t work, is an ad

I downloaded the app, and when I opened it, all I found was an ad for another app, a game. There seemed to be no way out of the ad except to get it! I never saw a chess board, and now, even if somehow it starts working, I don’t like this app’s attitude! I just went back and tried again, and what I just downloaded from the App Store is just a fancy ad. I COULD NOT GET A CHESS BOARD, TO SAVE MY SOUL! What is going on here? I don’t want any app that is always pushing something on me. Sorry, but I am done.

- yankeetwo · v2.7.4

Takes Over Phone

This app keeps freezing my phone. I cannot exit the app, turn off the phone, use emergency services, or anything else. It works most of the time, but when I cannot even turn my phone off or use emergency services there’s a serious problem. After the second time, I deleted the app off my phone permanently.

- messydiva · v2.7.4

Potential bugs and/or viruses

I downloaded the game to teach myself how to play chess. I had it 3 days tops and at least 5 times the game froze and made my screen spazz out. Do not download.

Valerie Louis Meurices point of view

This app is the best because it takes you down step-by-step and you might be a pro like me at chess and this game is really good for pros like me because I want a trophy at chess on Friday, May 1, 2026 and that was my first time ever getting a trophy so this game is going to be recommended because you don’t need Wi-Fi, no ads and completely free to download so this game is recommended for all ages five and up

- Med baraka · v2.7.4

I paid the one time fee to get rid of the commercials, but I still get commercials after every game. Not to mention during play the app lock up regularly and I have to close it to restart. Also, it doesn’t work with green readers so be warned. You have to have an vision to play this game.

- Blind iuser · v2.7.4

Stupid game ads

Fantastic Player Experience

Refreshingly, the developer of this app seemed to prioritize a positive player experience when creating it. Unlike other phone games (word games, card games, puzzles, etc) that clearly are designed to shove repetitive ads down our throats and do not work offline, Chess is awesome for offline play and watching ads BETWEEN matches (not during…looking at you, greedy wanks that publish Scrabble Go) actually rewards the player in the next match. Or, we can simply opt out of ads between matches. Thanks, developers, for giving us something to play and enjoy with some dignity.
