I am unable to get help from anyone. All they have is a AI to help me which is not able to resolve my problem. First time giving a 1 star review on a game. I actually paid $100 for a year subscription I am very disappointed I did.

Chess.com is epic, I’ve gotten so much better at chess through it and it is extremely hard to get off of the game. The puzzles/game reviews/coaching/whatever else you gotta pay for is lowkey a scam but ig they gotta make money somehow. Puzzles are very helpful and help me get better but I get better at a very slow rate because you can only do one per day without paying and paying for chess is crazy

You guys have some explaining to do, but you won’t because you’d have to explain why you let so much cheating go on. Win more than 2 games in a row and then they will match you with people playing 1000 points above their elos to rape you back down 200 elo points

They’ve a consistent pattern of wins and losses. Let’s say you’re about to go from 1400 to 1500. You would advance pretty quickly and then lose multiple games until you’re in low 1400s and then win again and then lose. This pattern continues for about 2 weeks and then you get a settled score of 1500 And then the same pattern repeats.

Sometimes it’s a good app but other times it’s just outrageous. If the bot has only the king left and you have many other players they get a draw if it’s vice verse you lose. It just has it’s moments there is probably better apps.

First and foremost, the game said they’d notify me before my free trial for premium would end, I never got notified (yes i have notifications on) therefore the app charged me for the annual plan for premium membership. Secondly, the game review always tells me i played like a 1250 but my current rating is 500 and i can’t ever go any higher, it feels like im going against pros.

Recently, it appears the tournament section is still experiencing major bugs. When accessing the current daily tournament tab, I have no options to select my tournaments, current tournaments, etc. These drop down menus were available before, but have oddly disappeared. I now have to go through a lengthy, awkward pathway to access and view the tournaments I am currently competing in. Another major issue is the app will not allow me to join tournaments. When I attempt to click the join button, nothing happens. It is not a timeout issue or anything else, and I know this because it won’t even display an error when clicking join. It simply does not work. I love the app and still use it, but seeing as the tournament section has suffered even more issues I have to lower my rating to three stars. Hopefully this can be resolved soon, because this app is still the best overall chess app to use in my honest opinion.

I found this very elegant as this game shows the perfect chess players. Also, you could play with players that you like any player you want you could play with them even if they’re a noob or a pro or they are the best player like Magnus Carlson then you can make it like him with this app chess.com has to be one of the most coolest things I’ve ever found 😆 it’s super addictive once you get the hang of it and then you finally get an addiction about about on Chess. They sell your personal information to EVERYONE. I explained how they do it on a previous review but it’s not there anymore. They delete the low star reviews which in my opinion should be illegal. Use only if you want 15+ spam calls a day. Also they track your id, browsing history, location, phone number, etc.

Overall just a great app. Play chess, learn with the Coach if you want, complete puzzles, etc. It’s really a fun way to learn and spend down time well by intellectual stimulation. I love chess! Honestly, I might love this game even more. There are many cool features like adding friends, playing against bots, and playing against your coach. I love the game as it is but if you want to make it better my one suggestion is to have an option to play with a black and white board or a gold and silver board because I played normal chess with my friend once and the board was gold and silver. (Also what’s my review name again?)

It’s generally pretty good but there is a recurring flaw in that some players have figured out how to trigger an abort when they fall into an imminent losing position. There are routinely many players online so never need to wait more than a few seconds to be matched to an opponent. Advise against enabling chat - there are as many trolls and haters playing chess as on any other social media.

My only complaint about this app is the puzzle scores. You can get 5 in a row correct and increase your score by 15 but if you get one wrong you can decrease your score by 13 and heaven forbid if you miss click a square.

Generally, I enjoy the Chess app. However, updates to the app always force changes to my personal settings and preferences. So, updates force me go back through ALL of the settings to reset my preferences to the way I like them; this is a real pain!

Was called the n word because of my country. Reported the player and they were never banned. To the devs: I’ve reported them five times over the past month no ban. Even sent an email report no response. Edit: 7 reports now. Also if you play bullet it’s broken. You play with one added second after each move but don’t get a full second to even move. June 2026 clock still broken in bullet chess July 2027 bullet chess is broken

New home screen with carousels is a catastrophe. Please leave it alone. I don’t want to see puzzles on the top, there’s a tab for them. Don’t make my active games tiny—that’s literally the whole point of the Home screen. Don’t turn everything into a side swipe shelf/carousel. It’s terrible ux and the worst use of screen space possible. Make it simple instead of dumping every single option in the app onto the home tab. What a mess…

Meh, I don’t feel like this game is worth it. Plus it puts so much pressure on you to pay for premium. I honestly think you should at least get 3 free puzzles and there shouldn’t be a limit on coach games. I do not recommend this for literally anyone. Pretty “surprised I haven’t quit yet, TBH. On bullet chess, it is very common to get a stalemate when the time runs out for a player, when there should be a clear winner. Also would love to see some of the chess mods come to the mobile app that are currently on the browser version. Otherwise a top notch app and experience. Cheers.

Have people who play the mobile app test your patches before you push them. Please god. The back and forward buttons during game review are now atrocious with responsiveness. You still have the move list right above the back and forth buttons so it’s easy to misclick and jump around when trying to advance move by move, then it’s impossible to actually go back to the move you were on because the place to press for each move is way too small to accurately land a finger or thumb. Move list shouldn’t be close enough that you can accidentally click it when trying to go move by move. Individual move buttons should be larger and separated so you can easily click on them, the UI in game review mode hasn’t been touched in ages, even tho you do these constant over iteration updates all the time.
