Follow the Meaning is a surreal, hand-drawn, point-and-click adventure.
A desperate letter summons detective Paul Trilby to a peculiar island town, divided by a wall and ruled by a Hospital. Regular citizens get admitted and then return without their memories. A sinister conspiracy is afoot. Can you get to the bottom of this mystery? Use wit, curiosity and lateral thinking to puzzle your way towards a solution, helped by the local citizens you meet along the way. Remember that there is always a grain of truth in the local gossip. couldn't get on with this style of game, no way to ask for refund. Not the end of the world but maybe a little demo version should be available ( maybe it is) especially when its a paid for game.

I did like it a lot but it may be easy for some puzzle veterans. conversely at least one walkthru is available. the hand drawn art is good, the story is x-files level surreal, the ending is semi-expected but still unusual and surreal.

I really enjoyed it! Looking forward to more from this team. I only had 1 issue that was easily worked out by clicking "Reset Game" in the menu. For my playthroughs it acted as a checkpoint restart not a full game restart. The warning message does say, "All your progress will be lost..." so try at your own risk. It put me back to where I needed to be when I completed a puzzle before the storyline was ready. Don't forget to give it a 2nd playthrough, you definitely missed something!

Nice game with an engaging story! I'm usually not so interested in the story, but it was given within the gameplay. Some parts are hard and not obvious at all, but it's a nice challenge.

I got this game through playpass but it's worth the $ in my opinion! very well rounded game! the art style is unique and well done, and the story to puzzle ratio is very well done.

I like the puzzles, but the ending and the title really don't connect. It feels deep but it also feels shallow too. Like they knew in writing what was deep but this game feels like a nothing burger with puzzles that don't have proper hints.

For $3.50 its not bad, 5 stars because it was a very cool experience. There was a hat puzzle that made zero sense and the game is like 1 hour long but it was fun. The weird storyline adds a lot to it, the odd puzzles were right there with it. The map puzzle did feel broken but I think overall it was done well and it felt like a lot of time went into making it something out of the ordinary. Its worth playing if you like point and click adventure games.

What an incredibly wonderful game! I can't remember the last time that I played a game from beginning to end in one sitting! Totally unexpected. Great story line. Great characters. Great puzzles that were not too hard but made you think. Im sad that its over but I loved the ending. Thank you devs. for this wonderful game!❤️

very cute, but don't get me wrong, the puzzles are challenging, just enough to make you think. Not too easy, not too hard. Nice graphics and story line! Medium length, but I never think they are long enough

Waaay to short! Tho, did love every minute of it. Seems I missed a few things in this game, wouldn't mind starting all over again. Awesome graphics, love the humor, nice story line and great puzzles to be solved. Recommend!

I kept forgetting to try this game, so I’m a bit late to the party. It’s a weird puzzler mainly focused on collecting and using items to make new actions available. This is a game to stroll through, not rush. Take your time, take screen shots of provided hints, and just enjoy it. One suggestion for the developers: I did find all the cats, but played well past 1/1/26, so I suggest an update to remove that reward prompt from the game finish. For me, thanks was plenty of reward ;)

This is a GREAT GAME! Excellent artwork, excellent puzzles, excellent story, I also loved the sound effects and ambience. I truly enjoyed this game! I finished it in one sitting...maybe an hour?...with numerous distractions, lol... but, the story and gameplay, for me, was engaging and challenging enough, thoughtful puzzle concepts, you CAN find all the answers if you are observant enough. The story kept me playing and I LOVED the abduction while 'waiting' for the loading screen! BRAVO!

This is quite a strange game, but it's good. I liked the art, music and enjoyed figuring out the puzzles and finding the cats (missed 2 though!). However, it's quite short and you can probably finish it in a couple of hours.

Definitely not what I expected but that's absolutely a good thing. It definitely has various elements that can be taken differently depending upon how you look at them. Very well done game. I'm going to play through again as I missed a couple things and I'm curious if and how it effects the outcome. I definitely recommend playing this through at least once and you will probably want to again.

neat little point and click adventure! I wish it were longer but I really enjoyed the story. The puzzles were logical, not too frustrating. As someone else mentioned, I would have liked the option to go back and find the other cats without having to restart.

I really wanted to get lost in this game, especially after the referral from the folks at Rusty Lake. Unfortunately, it’s not atmospheric, there’s not really a story or mystery to be solved, and the puzzles are sparse and lacking in connectivity to any of it. It held my attention, I guess, but there are much better point and click puzzlers out there.

Going well until I was in the bar after giving man the hat, the box appeared but when attempting to open it, nothing happens. Pretty sure I can’t continue, which is unfortunate.

“Reset Game” doesn’t mean “reset the current puzzle.” It means “completely destroy all of your progress and start the entire game over again.” I found this out the hard way when I wanted to restart the hats puzzle. Apparently it can’t be restarted, but you’re allowed to wipe out hours of game play and start the entire game over from the beginning.

Love the artwork, love the mood, love the variety of puzzles. I wish it’d been a bit longer but sometimes it’s fun to bash one out quick. I hope they make more. I think this one could extend its story too, it seems like a cliffhanger. Definitely inspired by Amanita Design but that’s great to see. Please make more!

Interesting point-and-click puzzle game with bizarre twists. Need to play again so I can find the 2 cats I missed. The hat puzzle was quite challenging as well, I had to follow a guide to get the answer 😁

This game is a huge disappointment having come recommended from Rusty Lake. There is no rhyme or reason to the story or the puzzles. You never know where you're supposed to go or why (if you haven't the hints on). The puzzles are a lot of trial and error. You're always on the lookout for lost cats that are hidden in various places, you're supposed to "call" if you see a 3-eyed person but no phone is around. Everyone in the games speaks Italian (with captions), the music is monotonous and annoying. It's just a game of poking on everything hoping for something that will make logical sense. It's not fun. I felt my time was wasted, which is frustrating and not why people play games. The puzzles are not challenging. It's a shame Rusty Lake stumped for this game; their games are fun, challenging, interesting, everything this game was not.
