Stays with you until the very end
I’ve always wanted to play Journey for the longest time. It’s been on my radar for years and, thanks to the iOS port, I have been able to FINALLY experience it myself. And boy, what a journey it was! The music, the atmosphere, the tension, the flying, i can go on and on! Reaching the end made my cry (it’s rare when games do that) and it’s stuck with me long after I completed it for the first time. Everything, and I truly mean EVERYTHING about this game has tugged on my heartstrings and hasn’t let it go since. Absolutely phenomenal experience, (one i highly recommend you go into blind like I did) and one that will stay with you long after the credits roll.

Peak Art via Digital Experience
It’s emotional throughout, evoking depths of reflection that expands beyond gaming but an experience far greater.
One of few titles PS3 left looking more powerful than Xbox 360 back when, each grain of sand, lively, active & enormous environments finely detailed.
My iOS devices do, appropriately translate a more than viable version with every note as PS3, tho may not represent this port on more premium hardware, some visuals may be reduced in fidelity but made the cut fine.
On iPad Mini 4, iPhone SE 3, 12 & itty bitty iPod Touch 7 all objectively convey THE “Journey” experiences in totality. With noticeable scaling between chips/resolution, an A8 the weakest SoC here still ended up being my primary play through due to a still incredible display on iPad Mini 4 & obviously this game cannot be recommended enough.

Very frustrating
The character is so slow and difficult to control, but if you missed one thing there is no way to turn back so you have to start all over again not from a check point, very frustrating. I want my money back.

Beautiful Game
I must say, I was a little apprehensive at first, but I gave it a chance and I am SO glad I did. What a game. There’s something about playing this that is so incredibly satisfying, yet relaxing. The musical score as you play is nothing short of absolutely freaking outstanding! Great game. Love it! Best 5 bucks I ever spent! Thank you thank you thank you!

Overrated
Don’t waste your money to buy this game! It’s not worth a dime, all the positive reviews seem to be from bots or something. First of all, graphics are total trash, except for the sand, but you get tired of it pretty soon, because it’s sand, sand, sand, everywhere. Secondly, it won’t allow you to move camera as you wish to try and see where you are going to, what’s around you and so on. In some places it will forcefully move camera on its’ own. Thirdly, there are no warnings of what is going to happen, at the same time controls are extremely poor, to the point of nonexistent, and you just see the thing you need to collect after you PASS it, and it swooshes you without an opportunity to turn back; and then you have to RESTART the entire trashy game over just to collect what you missed! And that’s with you already aware of game being divided into playable areas with no return back, but you are not safe even after check point, because it won’t let you to start right at the beginning of the said checkpoint, basically you need to know in advance, what is going to happen, in order to peacefully enjoy game to the fullest. Fourthly, there are no other players, like at all, i think i met someone once, but all we could do was “chirping” at each other. There are no chat icons, no chat in the menu, not even a bubble, nothing, nada, no way to say anything, or at least show an emote or something. Extremely disappointed, i want my money back, it’s a total scam!

Nope.
I been a frustrated fan of Sky for many years, i played many hours, completed the game to a sacrificing end in the Eye of Eden. Journey should've just been added to Sky. Journey is so frustrating, why would i want to play a game i walk in sludge the whole time. It's a game! Let's have fun! It's not fun, it's a mindless puzzle where you don't have full control of your very slow character that walks off cliffs. There's not even a jump button.

Pls add servers you could join on the menu and a hangout place
I love the models but I want to play with friends, not empty servers or random people, also voice chat could be useful also, guest acc could not talk to other people or see their texts, junior acc could text but not voice chat, 13+ could use voice chat ánd text, 18+ cant talk to any teen but could play with other adults, and 9 under could use chat stickers to talk but not use their own text, pls add secret accessories in the maps

Life-Changing Experience
Where do I even start? The graphics and visuals are astonishing, especially for the time it was released. Captivating and emotional story. Beautiful music that set the vibe. It was definitely worth the play after seeing that I could get this game as well on the appstore as an avid Sky: CoTL player. The only downside is that I feel like this game is just a one-time experience thing because all you do is complete the game, get reborn, and do the whole journey again and again and again... At that point I decided to just delete the game after. I did manage to capture a bunch of beautiful, scenic photos like I always do with every game I play though. Would recommend if you have 1-2 hours to spare in your life!

Journey isn’t meant for iOS
Love journey but it isn’t optimized for iOS at all. I removed from my iPhone and requested a refund. Doesn’t play well. Can’t sign in to your PSN or account for syncing.
Not great.

This game/art is pretty good
It’s a good game/art but however, I’m having companion connection problems so I can’t see anyone here. I would really appreciate if you update the system for the servers, I only see just one companion through out my time I play this. So please update the system so us all mobile players can get this bug fixed now not all I mean some people don’t have this problem but I usually do so yeah if you see this, please fix this. 4 star review for one bug

Glitch with new iOS
Sadly at the tower level which is normally very easy, the swarms that lift you are not populating in the right place. This makes the game unbeatable.
Otherwise incredible game, and indeed timeless.

Amazing game but a lot of bugs
The game is wonderful and if you let the game sit for a couple minutes and use headphones it plays very well. Otherwise the game lags and the audio doesn’t come through the phone.

Nice game but…
This game does not play on an ipad 6. It constantly freezes which means refresh and go back to the beginning of the chapter. Not worth the cost.

Journey—первая сюжетная игра, в которую я играл на телефоне. Я несколько недель думал, что выбрать: Gris или Journey. Остановился на 2 варианте, ибо насмотрелся в последнее время трейлеров по ней.
Я прошёл её на геймпаде и получил непередаваемый игровой опыт. Единственным минусом является отсутствие вибрации на нём.
Я очень люблю игры с исключительно визуальным повествованием сюжета, в их списке и Little Nightmares. Journey немного не хватило масштаба, но от этого она не стала хуже.
Огромная благодарность всем разработчикам! Вот вам мои 5 баксов)

Wow. Just wow.
I finally finished Journey after being stuck a bit and a couple of turn-arounds in the later parts of the story but I have to say, I was super impressed overall. Great atmosphere in the music and lighting, relaxing gameplay for the most part but definitely a few tense moments scattered throughout.
I kept losing my camera control which I don’t think was intentional but very frustrating depending on what was happening. Most times I could move forward until it came back but that’s the only issue I experienced.
I know games with a vague storyline and little explanation aren’t for everyone but if you’re a fan of cinematic puzzle games where you figure it out as you progress, this one is great. The more games I play under the Annapurna umbrella, the bigger a fan I become. 👏🏼

Truly Fun and Emotionally Powerful
A really enjoyable game. There can be so much toxic behavior in the gaming world sometimes, but this isn’t that kind of game. I feel lonely very often, and don’t often see friends or socialize; I didn’t know this game had multiplayer when I started playing it, and had played through it maybe six times alone, so I was quite shocked when I ran into someone. See, I have a disability; I cannot feel my hands, and the muscles in my fingers don’t work, but the player I ran into patiently helped me and stayed with me even though I am very clumsy, and repeatedly fell off of a tall structure at one point. We had to start over many times because of me before we succeeded, and it would be very understandable if it was frustrating for them, since they wouldn’t know why I was struggling with certain things that would probably have been much easier if my hands worked, and yet they still played through that part with me.
After reading more about it, I know this game’s designers intended for their to be an emotional connection bond/connection formed between anonymous players who run into each other, and that the lack of text or speech comms is meant to add to that, and for me, that was an incredibly powerful experience. Also, it’s pretty cool that if I can play this game on iOS, then it is probably pretty accessible for other players with motor disabilities that affect their hands.

Glitches ruined it for me
This is not a dig at the game designers. It’s very beautiful. But developers, it needs some work for iOS. The glitches for me came at the end run and it ruined it for me…no payoff at all. I was stuck in some weird warp loop and stayed with it for 30 mins because I wasn’t sure if it was part of the game or not felt as if it could have been. I could still fly. So I went to YouTube to a YouTube walkthrough to see how I could get out of it and realized not only was it a glitch but a glitch but that it was a glitch at the payoff. Completely took the magic out of it for me. Hope you’re able to do apply fixes and maintain support of the game as I can see why others like it.

Pretty good, but lonely by now
Good game, nice style, no real way to lose. But at this point, there are almost no other players. I only encountered one in the game, and only for a minute or two at the beginning. After being on the market for so long, the game seems to be mostly abandoned.

Seminal
I played this several years ago on PS3 and at that time I remember thinking it was the most enjoyable video game I’d ever played.
The concept, the game environment, the soundtrack, all great! Best of all is the psychological moment of a random companion in an environment without the ability to speak to one another, and where cooperation benefits both. A seminal piece of work there.
I downloaded this iOS version and haven’t been disappointed. I was kinda put off by there being no achievement trophies though. Seems to abbreviate the gaming experience. That said, I was pleased to see that the effect of the Transcendence achievement still exists, if not the trophy.
I’ve noticed that the game is much more sparsely populated than it used to be. I’m journeying alone altogether too often. In spite of this I still give a 10 of 10. Even running solo it’s a delightful gaming experience. Very happy it’s still available, and still highly recommended.

Fantastic Game & Tips
Changing review from 3 star to 5 since upgrading from iPad 5th gen to iPad Pro 2 fixed majority of bugs, glitches and companion connection. The game is breathtaking, aesthetic and cinematic. It has an incredible seamless flow in transitioning the angle of the camera as you move around. There’s a level making the sun so immersive you can feel the warmth of it shining on your face. Though short, this is my favorite open world game topping other mainstream games I’ve played because of Journey’s simplicity, eliminating any words or text. No need for weapons or fighting. After switching to IPad Pro 2, FINALLY I have completed the game beginning to end with a companion two nights in a row. What I did: wore red robe with all patterns. Broken Bridge: Unlocked first part of bridge. Collected all symbols. Unlocked all small machine parts that do not affect the bridge. Sat on the rock connected to the 2 ribbon war machine left side of the bridge. Be VERY patient. Screen transition is okay when you make your character sit. Once in a while disconnect and reconnect internet but not often. When someone appears, stay very close together. Unitedly activate things. And play all the way through. Btw, I was connected with beginner players. Story is touching and experience memorable.m

I wish I could recommend this game.
This was obviously ported from a device with a controller. The interface on a touchscreen was a valiant attempt but takes all of the joy out of what is probably a wonderful game on a different device.

good game, awful port.
i've been wanting to play journey for a while, and boy have i been let down by this buggy port. the graphics and controls are fine, but EVERY time i pause the game, it stops playing any sound associated with the main character. i've collected all the symbols in the desert area, but due to a crash, it's showing i'm missing one. if i could refund this, i think i unfortunately would, because while this is a beautiful game i've had a miserable time playing it.

Love AnnaPurna… but that was it?
I’m a little late to the show here. But I’m was sorely disappointed by this game. I love AnnaPurna and ThatGameCompany because of how much dedication and detail goes into each game- ie. Sky, Stray, etc. And this game had potential…but it was SO SHORT. $5 for a game that I finished in 2 hours??
Their mobile Sky game is free with in-app purchases and takes six times the length of time to complete. At least that one was worth it.

Prefer Console
Journey is my all time favorite game but the true experience is on console, especially for the community. I love having Journey in my pocket, but the controls and camera on the phone version need improvement.

No sound!
Tried restarting, reinstalling, made sure Bluetooth was off, volume was up, tried it on another phone I had: all the same results. This game is broken. Steam allows for game refunds if you know you don’t want the game in a short time so I recommend switching to their infrastructure.
