Unbalanced, Doesn’t respect your time

The game isn’t so bad as to only warrant one star, but it also doesn’t deserve the 4.9 rating it has in the app store, and needs to be offset. The biggest issue is the terrible balancing. The game devs obviously wanted to make it harder than previous titles, but they use a variety of cheap and unfair tactics to accomplish that, and obviously wanted to incentivise people to pay for the myriad of pay-to-win feature built in, which is just disrespectful and dishonest. You could possibly win each location without paying, but the amount of time you’d have to spend grinding to make sure you have just the right hero levelled up enough to have the powers needed, as well as purchasing all the bonuses you need from the in-game store, is just not respectful of our time as players. This is a phone app game. I’m not trying to spend my entire life playing it, or even hours at a time. Stop trying to be a console or PC game, unless you’re going to actually BE that.

Nerfed blackwater endless

The blackwater endless map has been nerfed. Why nerf something this old. The map used to be fun and still challenging enough and good way to earn store credits to keep me interested. Now the difficulty is ridiculous after just 10 waves.

Every single time I close the game it fully resets the level I’m on so if you have a life and actually do stuff with your time then get ready to be penetrated in your azz because they can’t figure out how to save your progress. Whole bunch of brain dead monkey developers

Amazing game! One complaint

This game is phenomenal. I have played for a long time and I have always appreciated the detail and effort. The only complaint I have is that the kingdom rush series no longer has endless levels. The campaigns are great, but after they're completed, you don't typically go and play the same levels over and over again and that's what the endless runs are for continuously trying to get on the leaderboard as a part of the fun that the kingdom Rush series offers, but they haven't been making the same levels. We need to bring back endless mode.

This is my all time favorite Mobil game (kingdom rush in general). I love the strategy of the game and the heroes. The tower variants make the game super interesting. The fact that it goes deep into the fantasy world is awesome.

Best in the series.

All heroes are good. The worst hero isn’t even bad and can be used extremely well if played right. All towers are visually uniqe unlike any other towers in the entire franchise. The art is simple and down right beautiful. Whether you’re a beginner or master to strategy games, this game has a challenge for you. Beautiful game. Beautiful series. I’d pay 3x its original price for it.

Not as hard as purported 🙅‍♂️

Reading some of the negative reviews📱made me reluctant on buying this one but I am glad I did anyways. It isn’t as difficult as other reviewers have wrote and I didn’t buy any power ups. In fact, maybe because this is my third game, but it was easier after getting used to new options and I didn’t even look for online tips like I have a few times for previous installments. There are easter eggs such as red sacks and trees along paths that slow down enemies when pressed on. However, I will admit that the 🧙‍♂️free magic power ups 🪄 aren’t as obvious on what they do like in the other games ( the nuclear ☢️bomb was a no-brainer).

Happy to have paid for this game. I finished the Crystal sea map with 3 stars (normal mode) except for one spot. Is there a second map? Or is that the end of the game? (I know there is a harder mode). But are there no other maps with this one game?

a good 3rd game in this series

i like that there is new content in this game its cool that the meteors were replaced by lightning bolts and that each hero has a special ability it makes sense that the artillery’s bombs were replaced with boulders because this takes place in a magic world of sorts because of the background

I really enjoy this series! Devs, PLEASE fix the barracks to actually block troops. It feels like a 50/50 if an enemy will be stopped or just walk right past them.

Heroes need re purchased

I love all the kingdom rush games, have bought every single one, and all the buyable heroes. Im tired of having to rebuy them, as something gets reset or an update happens and they all need repurchased again. Not sure if this is shady business tactics, or an honest mistake thats happened multiple times. Im giving the game 3 stars because of this. Also, yes, I have tried the reset option for the heroes and still nothing.

Perfect Successor!

I was hesitant to pay for the game, given that the original was free. But I am so happy I did! The lore is carried over in some fun ways, and the gameplay is familiar, yet fresh! This series is the best tower defense game out there, and once you have 100% on the first, it’s more than worth it to get this one!

Nobody compares to iron hide games!

The bar is raised so high by iron hide with all their amazing games, no other TD game or in general any other mobile game compares thier games. All you can do is replay thier amazing games over and over again and still have an amazing time. Everything is just perfect, the heroes the art style. I just can’t wait for another one. I’ve played every single iron hide game there is over and over again. I love them. I just hope IRONHIDE knows how much I love them for giving us these amazing games. They have so much passion for these games and it’s such a rare and beautiful thing. I love you Ironhide

Moves too slow

This game loves way too slow for a tower defense game. Levels drag on for extended periods of time as you’re just sitting and waiting for enemies to plod through. There’s no option to speed up the game play either, so you’re stuck. It makes the game boring. With so many tower defense options available on the App Store, you can definitely find better.

I started with the first game when the Kingdom Rush came out, which was great. It all was enjoyable, but transactions were there. For me, it seemed okay since I already made my decision on not making additional purchases. In a three dollar game like this though, spending money for heroes is not an ‘every game’ thing. This especially goes for towers which are optional to purchase, which in some levels the game really gets aggressive, making gameplay worse than what I can explain. As of the time when the latest version Iron Marines came out, I hate the fact that when I was reading reviews. Not only the purchasing towers and heroes makes me disappointed, it also gives me thoughts on me not wanting to spend a penny just for entertainment. I saw multiple developer responses being written the exact way other people received, and that way of interacting also disappointed me more. ‘Four squads’, ‘horrible heroes’. This grabbed my attention. The first version of Iron Marines (which I purchased) wasted a ton of my time, ruining 65 percent of the entertainment, and the time the game actually really doesn’t need to use. As of this game, I must say leveling up heroes took too much time. Graphics are great though, although some heroes (not the ones which can be purchased) were doing great on average, gameplay seemed well-balanced.

One of my faves but…

As my title said, it’s absolutely one of my favorite games ever made, however - it’s time we get a new installment! Either new content, a new a KR entirely! And I’m not taking about one where’s it’s a couple of heroes running around I mean classic KR or Origins or Vengeance or something! Anyways this review is for all the classic style KR games, each one is a joy to play and all I ask is to get my hands on a new one! 🤟🏼 Sincerely - a long time fan! 💯

BEST EVER!

This TD is very unique.This is my first time playing and I love the gameplay.The levels are fun!On second level,All I put down is archers And gave them all boom arrows.It was amazing.It is a really well balanced game and I love it. I am only on the third level so I ask, do you get an actual archer troop? I wait and see.Overall,This is the best TD I have ever played.I’m playing this,then the reg kingdom rush,then frontiers,then vengeance.Thank you for the game!Pls respond to this comment.

A Good Sequel

The game is a lot of fun. The towers being mixed up from sequel to sequel has been nice. The difficulty for Heroic and Iron challenges feels ramped up a bit more in Origins than the previous 2, which means I won’t be spending as much time with Origins as I did on Frontiers and the original. If levels required less time to complete the playing and losing and playing and losing over and over would feel less like an unsatisfying grind. With the heroes that would make these levels easier locked behind paywalls, I suppose Heroic and Iron are pay to win this time around. The base levels are still a blast.

Fails in basic ways

Has a lot of potential bit some epic fails: 1) You have 4 defenders with air attack ability and they focus on the lesser threat as a simple enemy flies through the middle of the defenses… really? 2) You purchase (with items earned in app) weapons and the enemies adapt to how much you purchased. Clearly they are trying to monetize the need for more. 3) You use a weapon and enemies exit the map as if you didn’t use it - but you lose the weapon… 4) No ability to increase game speed

One of the best versions of tower defense games.

This version and the vengeance version no have the best towers and abilities. Great game, no ads. Don’t need to buy anything to beat the game but it does help the gameplay if you decide to buy last the dragon hero.
