completely broken, there is no format not dominated by the same 8 copy pasted decks. if you don't spend money you are the fodder for everyone who does... the shuffle is definitely 100% rigged (been playing magic since the 90s)

recently, I was in a match and my opponent was winning but then I pulled a card that gave me the edge and they just straight stopped taking their turns. furthermore, I had a creature using an artifact giving it indestructible, but an opponent hit my creature and killed it, the system this game uses CHOOSES when to follow rules, ive had cards eith hexproof get target exiled and even opponents pull cards that ARENT LEGAL in the format im playing in. i brought this up to customer support, nothing

I'm going to go try Yu-Gi-Oh and other card games 100%, I'll still play this every once in awhile but it cheats too much. all algorithm there's no skill to it. then if it's a completely one-sided duel where it just wants you to get raped and punishes you for leaving. your next 20 duels will be nothing but one-sided rape. punishment for non-payment. but the final straw is just being raped. the game makes you feel like a victim. and I've never felt that in my life so I won't be feeling that.

I didn't believe the other reviews until I confirmed it myself. The game actually CHANGES your deck order for some inexplicable reason. Usually to your detriment. For example it forced lands, or denies you lands but masquerades as a shuffled deck. The whole point of this game is to make decks and test/play them but then you never can do that in a fair way. This is embarrassing for a studio.

Been unplayable since the last time I updated the app, everytime I login it keeps saying can't connect to the server and doesn't continue after that point regardless of how many times I try to reconnect. Had multiple issues before this happened as well with limited events, I had registered in a quick draft right before this started to happen and I am not sure if that event is over now as I am completely unable to login.

Edit: I am permanently done with this app. I love to play draft. It feels like the game actively screws you from getting more than 3 wins in a run. You can run whatever you want. It will actively land screw you. It will do everything in its power to force you into spending. Stay away from this and just support your LGS. This App is just predatory.

It's very obvious this game is rigged. The amount of opening hands i've had in a row with less than two lands is so statistically low. Then you'll keep getting the same cards every match and rarely see others. On top of that, you'll go several games in a row being mana screwed, straight into several being mana flooded. I'm fine losing if they have a better deck, not because the game dictated it.

Updated Review: still have occasional issues with the server. The app is working better since redownloading it. seems to have frequent updates. Okay from what I've seen thus far, and will continue playing. Recent Update: I have reported multiple bugs since I've started playing. No changes have been made. What's the point of having an error log if you don't use it to make necessary changes? Seems like all they care about is releasing new content.

have you ever played an MTG game where your opening hand is one land and you have a set of the heaviest cast cards in your deck in that opening hand. then over the next four turns you draw nothing but other heavy cast cards never getting a second land? In this app you will and it will happen several games in a row. While the game is free to play it feels like it is possibly rigged when you play people who spend money. in it.

terrible. I waited nearly 4 days to load this game and then it just completely gives up on me staying in tutorial but demanding high amounts of data. no. just a terrible experience and I didn't even get to play a single match. kinda glad I'm stopped playing this game entirely back in 2020

Mostly fine except that the game is programmed to intentionally frustrate you into paying money. Doesn't accurately model real MTG due to intentional manipulative programming similar to slot machines and other casino games. This app was designed to psychologically trick you into spending money through irritation rather than fun. Less fun than playing paper magic with bulk cards, overall, and ~70% of games feature statistical anomalies. I like the GUI, that's about it.

can be fun just stay away from any events. decks work fine in any standard mode but as soon as you spend coins or gems to play in an event game mode you seem to get the worst pulls possible matched with the most sweaty of players but as soon as you go back to standard everything's fine again.

Truly the worst way you could play MTG. It has plenty of algorythems that favor payers, or try to frustrate you into paying money. The company themselves have openly admitted to doing this. I only suggest it to new players to have a visual representation of the rules. Beyond that, this is a game that you'll hate more than you'll enjoy.

One of the worst games I've ever played. Everything fun about Magic has been replaced with garbage F2P mechanics. Every opponent has a netdeck. Insanely overpriced currency. Free currency is worthless. You will constantly lose games. Everything is designed to pry open your wallet. Punching yourself in the face is cheaper and less painful. Would rate zero stars if I was allowed.

Its easy at least for me to be taught about it and to understand and I wasn't a huge MTG player growing up. You can purchase different cards and build a deck in the game and there are different elements in the game that you can choose from. White Element all the way!

Where do I start? I have played many digital "TCG" (not really a trading card game as you only own a license to the items you pay money towards). This one by a land mile has the worst performance: - should you go from WiFi to Cellular, or vice versa, you will be stuck in a reconnecting loop for 5+ minutes. - the game modes that are pay-to-enter frequently bug out, and on a game-breaking level. - the connecting/loading pages... oh my god. You'll spend more time watching them than playing.

the app is not designed to play mtg, it's designed to keep you on screen as long as possible and artificially relieve frustration with easy wins. then get you to spend money. it's a free to play game, not magic the gathering. today is August 8th, i just deleted the app. its too large now for mobile. guess its just cardboard now.

The game is great, its Magic...but the app itself is horible. conatant crashes, black screen, freezes and so on. and this has been happening for years! and no. its not my phone and no i dont need to update anything. For all the money that Wizards take, they could invest some in the app. i used to give it 5 stars years ago btw. edit: after a long time it works well. and i do love the game.

No Commander. Doesn't have all cards.Has Arena only OP cards. Game is rock scissors paper with majority of Brawl players running blue or black due to sheer number of cards they can instant, which in 1v1 means they just control the game. It will be 1 in every 100 games where someone isnt running blue or black. Card draw is not random, the game will give you cards you need and your initial had has a limit on lands etc. All in all, it's pretty rubbish

Can’t even make a account

I new to magic and I thought downloading the app would help me catch up to my friends with learning the game and all but they won’t even let me make a account. No matter how much I put in my email it keeps telling me that it not valid. Please fix that if there a problem with that.

it's become a pay to win game that doesn't reward you for the time you put in, what's the point of playing when half the time instead of getting coins to buy new packs you're given a single card and exp instead. either make it where a person can resell the packs they gained through rewards for the 1000 coins they're worth to buy from packs that suit their play style or give a player 100 coins per win and 25 coins for Loss.

95% of players are extremely slow play, and exclusively use removal instead of all the wonderful cards WOTC has created. Zero creativity or thought put in most decks, and the blame is on the devs. Falling into the dark harvest of peoples money by pairing long time free players against high dollar opponents, tryiny to force money out of their pockets. Find middle ground, or just make it a paid only game and stop ruining Magic in every way you can think of.

you either pay to win and bully everyone or lose and have zero fun. at this rate just make the starter decks just as broken as what most of everyone else is playing, maybe then I can actually enjoy the game and combo into cards and keep up with my opponent. I've given the game a try and it's pretty dumb, stick to playing irl, more enjoyable, why spend time making a digital deck when I can make a real one and have a better experience at the local card shop compared to whatever this sweat fest is

I love Magic. This game gets some mechanics done right, and most wrong. It is SO frustrating to play Brawl at ANY level. If you halfway optimize a deck with standard upgrades you get set in hell queue, which puts you against the sweatiest most bitchless basement dwellers you'll never see. Either you steamroll, get rolled, or the game crashes. On the rare occasion your deck works, you or your opponent get disconnected. My biggest complaint is Kinnan being bugged with Helga. That made me so mad.

Great, but I hate 1v1 magic.

Love MTG, love the way arena plays, but I hate how 1v1 magic is just “Destrpy your opponent as fast as possible…if Hasbro can make an uno app that supports multiplayer, there is no reason they cannot support a commander-like experience for multiplayer. Also, it’s more than a little ridiculous that digital brawl decks and packs should cost as much as their real-life counterparts.

This game is bs. It puts you up against veterans with unbeatable decks or everyone wants to play Krenko or Squirrelgirl. All you need is to win a couple of matches and you wont win any more pretty much ever unless you spend money. They give you maybe 1 new card and the rest a bunch of duplicates. Got a multicolored deck? pretty much set youre gonna be mana burned. You will get a hand of 1 color and never any mana to play even though your deck is half mana and half the mana is the color you need.

I actually just found this game and the real card game recently never really played anything but yugioh growing up, I’m 28 now, crazy to think I’d love this just as much. Wonder what it would be like to be an ambassador… would love to show off my crazy builds on arenas , I try to not use conventional methods . It’s been fun

It's mtg without huge upfront cost of buying physical cards, of course you can spend on here and not have them at home but you can also have hours of fun without spending anything. Great game, great community and not as difficult to learn as many think.

Poor matching

It’s the card game. Except it’s nothing but people reading off stupid high power deck lists and then playing them. You spend half the time playing against people who are only interested in playing the game in three turns, or when they decide they cannot win for whatever reason, they concede. You spend more time matching than playing. Magic isn’t just roided out decks, and it leaves a poor taste for a good number of people. There needs to be a power rating system when a deck is made, that way you actually play decent games instead of this nonsense. Not everyone who plays the game are tournament players, or want to create such decks. If you’re someone who enjoys casual magic, do yourself a favor and skip this one. I know personally this app has soured me on MtG as a whole.

It's just an unbelievable lack of balance. There are so many broken decks that people recycle over and over. But because it's so far out of whack, there's no point in trying, I guess? If you don't play a lot and for a long time, or pay, of course, then you won't have much to work with. I wouldn't spend too much, but whatever floats your boat, just don't cry when it sinks like all these online only games eventually do. Non ranked is still fun with people trying some creative decks.

Match making

I live and love the game . But I feel that the match making absolutely sucks. Magic only rewards those that spend money on app . If you just get on to grind and have fun save your coin enter a tourney . If you don’t net deck . There good chance you might get one win . Not right for those that are mainly free players . The algorithm knows this and that’s how match making is . No matter the style of your deck you will always get the player with a deck that is anti everything in your deck or turn three . Absolutely garbage . Why have ranked matches . Then come to a tourney that rank dissolves and then you just waste your coin . I feel this app is making it to where the creativity of a person deck making skill are dwindling because out of the many magic player how is it that we play the same style deck consistently? 2/3 matches you will play some one with the same exact deck as match previous . It becomes no fun . Items in shop for free players aren’t there long enough to obtain much because coin is a limited income in game always have to wait . Then loose it . Tbh I believe most people in match making isn’t real but computer bots playing us . Very peculiar

would have been fun except I couldn't even beat the final tutorial level. every time, the computer got the same cards which immediately destroyed half of any cards I put out. also, you start off with the most basic cards, which were also only one color. but the computer gets a totally stacked deck. I get making a game challenging, but I played that level at least 10 times and got demolished every time. made me delete the game
