No Commander. Doesn't have all cards.Has Arena only OP cards. Game is rock scissors paper with majority of Brawl players running blue or black due to sheer number of cards they can instant, which in 1v1 means they just control the game. It will be 1 in every 100 games where someone isnt running blue or black. Card draw is not random, the game will give you cards you need and your initial had has a limit on lands etc. All in all, it's pretty rubbish

I new to magic and I thought downloading the app would help me catch up to my friends with learning the game and all but they won’t even let me make a account. No matter how much I put in my email it keeps telling me that it not valid. Please fix that if there a problem with that.

it's become a pay to win game that doesn't reward you for the time you put in, what's the point of playing when half the time instead of getting coins to buy new packs you're given a single card and exp instead. either make it where a person can resell the packs they gained through rewards for the 1000 coins they're worth to buy from packs that suit their play style or give a player 100 coins per win and 25 coins for Loss.
- Tyler Evans · v2026.61.30.6671
95% of players are extremely slow play, and exclusively use removal instead of all the wonderful cards WOTC has created. Zero creativity or thought put in most decks, and the blame is on the devs. Falling into the dark harvest of peoples money by pairing long time free players against high dollar opponents, tryiny to force money out of their pockets. Find middle ground, or just make it a paid only game and stop ruining Magic in every way you can think of.

you either pay to win and bully everyone or lose and have zero fun. at this rate just make the starter decks just as broken as what most of everyone else is playing, maybe then I can actually enjoy the game and combo into cards and keep up with my opponent. I've given the game a try and it's pretty dumb, stick to playing irl, more enjoyable, why spend time making a digital deck when I can make a real one and have a better experience at the local card shop compared to whatever this sweat fest is
- Lol, Walls · v2026.61.30.6671
I love Magic. This game gets some mechanics done right, and most wrong. It is SO frustrating to play Brawl at ANY level. If you halfway optimize a deck with standard upgrades you get set in hell queue, which puts you against the sweatiest most bitchless basement dwellers you'll never see. Either you steamroll, get rolled, or the game crashes. On the rare occasion your deck works, you or your opponent get disconnected. My biggest complaint is Kinnan being bugged with Helga. That made me so mad.

Love MTG, love the way arena plays, but I hate how 1v1 magic is just “Destrpy your opponent as fast as possible…if Hasbro can make an uno app that supports multiplayer, there is no reason they cannot support a commander-like experience for multiplayer. Also, it’s more than a little ridiculous that digital brawl decks and packs should cost as much as their real-life counterparts.

This game is bs. It puts you up against veterans with unbeatable decks or everyone wants to play Krenko or Squirrelgirl. All you need is to win a couple of matches and you wont win any more pretty much ever unless you spend money. They give you maybe 1 new card and the rest a bunch of duplicates. Got a multicolored deck? pretty much set youre gonna be mana burned. You will get a hand of 1 color and never any mana to play even though your deck is half mana and half the mana is the color you need.

- Mark Payne · v2026.61.30.6671
It's mtg without huge upfront cost of buying physical cards, of course you can spend on here and not have them at home but you can also have hours of fun without spending anything. Great game, great community and not as difficult to learn as many think.
- Into The Dragon Cave With Dave · v2026.61.30.6671
It’s the card game. Except it’s nothing but people reading off stupid high power deck lists and then playing them. You spend half the time playing against people who are only interested in playing the game in three turns, or when they decide they cannot win for whatever reason, they concede. You spend more time matching than playing. Magic isn’t just roided out decks, and it leaves a poor taste for a good number of people. There needs to be a power rating system when a deck is made, that way you actually play decent games instead of this nonsense. Not everyone who plays the game are tournament players, or want to create such decks. If you’re someone who enjoys casual magic, do yourself a favor and skip this one. I know personally this app has soured me on MtG as a whole.
- The Only Real Ogre Here · v2026.61.30
It's just an unbelievable lack of balance. There are so many broken decks that people recycle over and over. But because it's so far out of whack, there's no point in trying, I guess? If you don't play a lot and for a long time, or pay, of course, then you won't have much to work with. I wouldn't spend too much, but whatever floats your boat, just don't cry when it sinks like all these online only games eventually do. Non ranked is still fun with people trying some creative decks.

so far not bad very intuitive. it would be amazing if your deck shuffled between losses but it doesn't you get the same starting hand everytime also can something be done about people taking 5 minutes a turn also do something about people roping you
- Brian Dicken · v2026.61.30.6671
I live and love the game . But I feel that the match making absolutely sucks. Magic only rewards those that spend money on app . If you just get on to grind and have fun save your coin enter a tourney . If you don’t net deck . There good chance you might get one win . Not right for those that are mainly free players . The algorithm knows this and that’s how match making is . No matter the style of your deck you will always get the player with a deck that is anti everything in your deck or turn three . Absolutely garbage . Why have ranked matches . Then come to a tourney that rank dissolves and then you just waste your coin . I feel this app is making it to where the creativity of a person deck making skill are dwindling because out of the many magic player how is it that we play the same style deck consistently? 2/3 matches you will play some one with the same exact deck as match previous . It becomes no fun . Items in shop for free players aren’t there long enough to obtain much because coin is a limited income in game always have to wait . Then loose it . Tbh I believe most people in match making isn’t real but computer bots playing us . Very peculiar

This is not if you truly enjoy mtg. Theres an algorithim that forces wins/loss and ruins the deck building aspect because u cant even tell what works/not. Everything is pricy and theres no multiplayer just 1v1s. Theres no ranked brawl. Matchmaking with friends rarely works and bugs out more often than not. Its an ok game for being free i would not spend money on it. WOTC has all this money but still cant make a decent app. No wonder magic is dying.
- The (Akirii) · v2026.61.30.6671
I was super excited for this game but it is short of being broken. Game basically load jams itself after each match making you restart the game (I have a brand new Galaxy tablet so it's not the device). Building decks is useless as it makes you play pre-made decks without any adjustments. I wasted $20 on this abomination. I should just light a $20 bill on fire next time I think about giving Hasboro, Wizards of the coast MTG and D&D a penny more.
- thomas fox · v2026.61.30.6671
love the game, however the shuffling algorithm is ridiculous!!!!! one day perfect hands, on point draws, back to back to back. the next day, same deck, mana flooded, no mana, drawing 4 of 1 card and never seeing any others. PLEASE FIX THIS. MONEY HAS BEEN LOST DUE TO THIS ALGORITHM. I wont touch the win a box events, because it is purely lucky of the draw. I did one, drew no mythics out of a sealed event, first 2 opponents laid down 3 4 5 mythics back to back. NEVER again!

do you want to get kicked in the mouth repeatedly and then asked if you enjoy it just to get kicked in the mouth again? then this is the game for you! get railed by people who use the same strategies or broken cards because they don't care about anyone's experience. the biggest feature of the game is there is no way to report cheating so when someone plays their WHOLE deck first turn you only have yourself to blame, you should have a card to prevent them from doing that.
- lonewolf beta · v2026.61.30.6671
Ap crashes often, unstable servers, and a community that trolls as much as possible. Play magic in person, this is just a bad way to play.
- Jose Arballo · v2025.52.60.4848
The MTG Arena mobile app is great when it works, but that’s not often enough. Wizards is aware of the issue. It makes you sign a disclaimer that says they’re not responsible for issues when playing on a mobile client. I’ve had countless issues of getting disconnected mid game, but the way it freezes. You can’t actually tell that you’re disconnected and by the time you get back in the game, your timers run out and you lose, and this happens in paid-for events as well. Not sure what the issue is with the servers, but it leads to a pretty lackluster mobile gameplay experience.
- Exhale99 · v2026.61.30
The front end of the app is amazing. The gameplay is great. The menus are easy to navigate. The server on the other hand is pretty low quality. It is constantly crashing, forgets your login. And if you switched to another app, you lose connection. Right now I can’t even login. It doesn’t seem like it would be so hard to make a server that is reliable when so many other apps do so
- wrf8164739 · v2026.61.30

- GTayIX · v2026.61.30
its only fun if you dont spend money on drafts. I am confident when i say that The RNG is not true random, and that the games are designed for you to lose and need more and more gems. If you want proof, take notes on your catd draws and starting hands, as wel as deck matchups, if you pick a certain archetype, you will be matched against the archetype that you are weak against (almost every round) - when you lose 2 in. a row, thr 3rd match will nearly always be an easy win for you. The list goes on and on but it is most sefinitely structureed and not true random. Scry 2 mechanic draws 2 lands a HIGH proportion of the times you trigger it. I really wish I didnt buy cards on here because now i feel locked in, as i cant sell the cards for gems to draft more and the finally quit , or redeem them for physical copies. so i keep playing. Dont fall for the trap. stay free to play if u do play. these guys r crooked
- Telisis · v2026.61.30
The matchmaking is terrible, starting this game I shouldn’t be going up against other players who’ve played the game the longest with well built decks when I barely have any custom decks or cards that they have to even win. And just mentioning the fact of this game is officially pay to win for new players who have to spend real money to get a deck that you hope will give u a chance to win when they are tired of losing game after game because of this unbalanced matchmaking. If the matchmaking gets fixed to that this game wouldn’t feel like that. But they would have to get rid of a lot of the card bundle system like keep some but the Avengers, LotR, and TMNT, now those a just stupid to add to this game. New players I will feel bad for u if u start playing this so please dont play this game unless you feel like getting slammed every match and win 1 game every 48 matches
- GFL Red Hood · v2026.61.30
Since WotC support is unresponsive, I’m left no choice but to write a bad review here in hopes that someone sees it. Since the most recent set of updates the game freezes regularly and I get timed out before I can respond. I love this game but lately it’s borderline unplayable.
- VeggieZaffer · v2026.61.30
I play this game a lot but some of the draft sets are not as fun to play online as in real life so I wish they could add the power cube more since I just rather spend my coins more on that
- Theussfull · v2026.61.30
The game constantly lets people hack it to where they can use mana that they don’t have and this patch never seems to fix anything. It also heavily favors people that pay to play.
- chevvet · v2026.61.30
They require you to quite an active game and create a new Wizards account (outside the app) to even start to report a bug/issue Right now there’s dozens of game-breaking bugs One of which is card affects not working half the time, such as Ward
- MR_O4TS · v2026.61.30
This game is terrible. The “smoothing” they claim to use is just a rigged shuffler. You can tell with your opening hand, if you’ve played enough games, whether you’ll win or lose. Have a 60 card deck? Get ready to get crushed by a deck with over 240 cards. It’s laughable how easy the rigging is to tell. The bots on here are another thing. The developers of this game should be fired. Too bad this company is more worried about pronouns and character dei changes than to fix this horrid game.
- plausibletheory · v2026.61.30
The game is solid buts its limited has way too many updates for nothing new to pop up and the card selection is far too limited like vishgraz doomhive isn’t in the game but they allow some broken cards and it leaves a lot of combos or interactions out there irl that would be more interesting plus if you have a pc just download spelltable wotc owns it you scan your cards and play it but in a pod/ home brew way better just gotta have a camera also grab cards the can be proxy cause spending big amounts of money online for a deck that costs five times the amount irl is insane but it’s nearly $30 to build online with a decent setup and please could you be like Konami and add the feature where you can dismantle the card for the mythic or rarity tokens so if I have a card I don’t like or care for having four of it I can atleast use the feature to get a card of that value
- BEHEMOTHOVHELL · v2026.61.30
Great way to get started with magic I love braw it’s close to commander just a lil different and the biggest thing that I just learned is as long as the card is in the game you can make any deck with any fancy lands without spending money it’s all free something other games need to start doing as long as you grind a bit but yeah I love it only complaint is I wish they had other ways to play like a braw free for all or a 2v2 or some two headed giant i think it’s called were it’s a 2v1 but the guy by himself has more heath or sum it’s been awhile tho so pls fact check the name but yeah that’s the only complaint other than that my favorite game in the App Store

I have been playing Magic for over 30 years when I started playing this game six years ago it was fairly decent and you had an opportunity to build a deck and win to a point. And the real world if I built a mono deck with 36 spells and 24 lands. How many times in 10 hands do you think I’d have one mana or less. In this game for me it has been an average of 7 out of 10. The math doesn’t pan out. Pull my data and look. I would pretty regularly reach mythic rank. It’s been more than a year since I’ve hit mythic I spend most of my time getting bounced all the way back down to diamond 4 or platinum 4. There are multiple ways to manipulate the algorithm than the shuffle outcome to throttle players . The other thing I have a problem with. It’s been at platinum or diamond level and going up against the players who’s ranked #5 not mythic 90% but ranked #5 or ranked #9 or ranked in the top 1000 even when I’m losing consistently. I still get paired against these players. This would never happen in real magic as if there are rankings and brackets when you lose you go down and you don’t face higher ranked players. I’m ready to copy a couple of my decks and send them to my friends who actually spend money on the game and see how my decks perform. This would certainly prove my point. Over 30 years I’ve spent more money than I care to say on cardboard and what this toy company has done to my beloved game has really infuriated me. I don’t make the accusation lightly in the first year. I played the game. I spent five dollars once to buy gems so I could get a mastery pass to see if it was worth it. Then I found if you play in the events enough. Using the gold you win for matches you can earn enough gems to buy the mastery pass without spending any money and I did this for four years and then the last two it’s been unattainable. Two weeks ago I spent $4.99 to buy gems to get another mastery pass just to see if paying money into the game would change my odds and it certainly did. I played the same decks but had different outcomes less issues with Mana. You’re not doing any players justice when you do this whether they pay or don’t the whole point of this game is to build a cardboard killing machine and play against your friends and see if you could make them cry so they can come back next week with a deck that would make you cry. It’s a figure of speech.. the point was we were always trying to find ways to outdo each other and do it in the most interesting ways. I don’t know how we can have a card catalogue as large as we do , with you even re-printing cards that Magic said they would never reprint . There’s no such thing as competition at that point. If this is an oversight which I doubt it is, please fix it , if it’s on purpose , be honest with everybody and fix it , regardless fix it. I waited six years to review this game so I can collect data , now you need to go through the data and fix your errors.
- LarryTheBassplayer · v2026.61.30
I’m updating this because it’s gotten worse. I uninstalled a while back because the game is obviously rigged, but I came back for the Marvel set. At first, things were going great. Now, for the past three days I either get mana flooded or I can’t draw a land to save my life, there’s no in-between. It would be one thing to lose to a better deck, but to constantly lose because I can’t draw anything I need is cheap. I’m not paying money to get around it.

- mahhvin · v2026.61.0
stop asking if I'm having fun, there is nothing fun about losing, this game is nothing but a sweaty grind
- Jason Lee · v2026.61.0.6595
This game is still absolutely rigged. Draft is unplayable because the game will either not give you any lands, or only lands, or your opponents just always have better cards. Every time I play draft and I win my first 2-3 in a row, the game will suddenly stop giving me ANY lands beyond the first 2 it gives me in my opening turn. Played 2 games in a row where I didn't draw a single land in my first 5 turns when 40% of my deck is lands. Absolute scam of a game.

do you feel that your cortisol levels are too low? then this is the hasbro developed mtg experience for you! from the cooked hands, to hours of getting raped endlessly, to your eventual suicide (but only after hasbro has drained your last shekel) daddy hasbro is here to that you "enjoy" getting your hole gaped and raped with their performative reviews on here and on reddit. seriously though, just play with proxied cards irl or on mtgo.

flat out terrible rigged matchmaking and even worse rigged hands. they even admitted it to " make the game more balanced".

worst game, its literally designed to make you lose more than you win intentionally pairs you with People that have the exact counter deck to yours, and screws your land draws no RNG involved. just greedy developers don't care about the player base just money

fun game to play

Started Magic in 93 & returned after some time away. Came back to Arena to warm up, and was ready to spend thousands building my paper collection again. Played ranked against a prison/stax deck using a WotC allowed deck where nobody could win or lose. My opponent wiped the board every turn. His stratergy to win was to annoy, frustrate, & waste time. This wasn’t competitive Magic, this is a mechanic meant to annoy players into concession. No one could win, unless i quit. Lost a customer

More than a card game. But rather a diabolical mystic realm of logic and clever foresights. Play at your own risk.
- Preston Wettstein · v2026.61.0.6595
This game has helped me play better. Also get to see all the card I have not seen and also help me build a deck as well.
- Ray 1986 · v2026.61.0
Play this this if you never want go first if you play 12 games in a row, against people that play games just to stall any not go for wins ruining the experience of playing magic.

As a fairly long time player of MTG, I like the opportunity to play it on mobile. There are a few things that could be better: Arena should add a format with more than two players, would definitely help make the game more fun. Price rebalancing, would be better if events were cheaper to enter, especially due to the winrate. Because of the price of entering events, it seems like only overpowered decks can really play in events. At least, I’ve never been able to get past 2 wins in an event before I run out of lives. Loading times are okay for me, although a few crashes are annoying, but not as bad as other reviews may say. For the most part, a fun way to play magic, but it does make IRL mtg a little less fun, because it’s harder to get cards that combo well. Have had mana issues in many games, but nothing a deck tweak can’t fix (most of the time). Although it can definitely be hard to get wildcards (especially mythic), it is possible to play and get a good deck without paying money, as long as you can accept some pay to win decks. Matchmaking wise, can be fairly balanced, but seems not always. Unimaginative player base is sometimes a problem, but that isn’t necessarily an issue the app can fix. Overall great game, but with a few issues.

so much fun. deck building, importing decks, etc is awkward. zero ownership of cards or an ability to trade them.
