Too many bugs. Many days I have to start the app, restore purchases, close the app, then reopen it just to play. Often I have to do this multiple times, my record is ten. I know my phone is a low end model, but still... I did report this bug months ago but got no reply. I was very busy yesterday in an area with poor signal, I checked to make sure I had done the puzzles to maintain my streaks, they were ticked. Played today and my streaks are gone as it says I didn't play yesterday. I'm done.
- Iain Walker · v6.31.0
The app itself has gotten pretty ok but it has been bugging out and making my times ridiculously short if I don't finish it in one go. Feels like cheating. The crossword, has gone downhill over the past years. The archive goes back pretty far and that's where there is gold.
- David Kaplan · v6.39.0
every year i have account subscription issues that takes me hours to resolve
- Eddy P · v6.39.0
There appears to be no way to turn off the auto renewal of payments. Sneaky. I would rather they shut off my access and make me resubscribe. They know people will forget & will probably just keep it rather than cancel (yes, I got a reminder - only 1). I won't forget to cancel next time. Never paying NYT again. Certainly not worth $50.
- Nancy Aschmies · v6.39.0
This rating is primarily due to UI/UX. As the number of games in the app has proliferated, users need to be able to customize their view; in the current deployment, usage of limited screen real estate is suboptimal. For months now, there's been an undismissable banner for a social mode I will never use. Today, wordle and connections were above the crossword. In terms of app performance, there is often significant latency opening the crossword.
- Margot Feuerstein · v6.39.0
All games are locked until you pay. Cannot check it out. Uninstalled.
- Level Six
Good games but frequently says "offline" when it's definitely not. Badly designed client-side architecture
- Nic Farhi · v6.39.0
Genuinely one of the best apps i have. it helped me get off social media. But its only good if you have the subscription unfortunately
- Amy Pretorius · v6.39.0
Great game to play with friends and is Ad free and without the annoying gimmicks you find on other similar classic word game apps. The pay off for using this NY times game is that it doesn't use the Oxford English dictionary and has annoying (incorrect) US spelling and ism.
- Emily Beavan · v6.39.0
Love the challenge
- Sheryl Walker · v6.39.0
if you're going to keep rearranging the games on the home screen with every update, at least add the ability to customize the order based on a user's own preferences. incredibly annoying UX to keep moving things around!!
- stefanie · v6.39.0
Good luck trying to figure out how to cancel this subscription
- Ron Shoram · v6.39.0
Wordle doesn't open
- Eric Sanford · v6.39.0
since when was the spelling bee locked behind the subscription? i feel like the week y'all unlocked the crosswords was just a ploy to lock another game without people noticing. Tiles used to be free to play as well. I'm so tired of money hungry businesses slowly hiding things behind a paywall to avoid backlash from their own actions. You already get the ad revenue.
- Megan B · v6.39.0
I start the day playing these games.
- Patsy Stowell · v6.39.0
I love this app. except I just got a new phone and even though I've been a subscriber for years of this app I doesn't transfer stats. Those thousands of puzzles you solved? didn't happen. all of a sudden there is an add on the spelling bee advertising 75% off of (I dunno th link appears and disappears as you're playing making the screen jump around) INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING!
- Mikey Kostans · v6.39.0
Where have the gold star for solving crosswords without cheating gone? That was the fun of a challenge. A crossword done properly is different than with robot help.
- Elena Valvasori · v6.29.0
they killed the app by making all of the OG games paid for I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually put wordle behind a paywall
- Matthew Rollison · v6.32.0
not letting me remove friends
- Mel Roberts · v6.39.0
A staple of my morning now
- Dave Thomas · v6.39.0
Not free for crossword puzzles.
- Brandon Whitman
I love the brain workout, but suddenly the app is no longer compatible with my Fire Tablet 🤭 What's up with that?
- Michi Boo · v6.39.0
I paid $49.99 for a one year subscription to NYT games last August. My renewal offer came and its $249.99 for a year. That is insane!
- CHOO · v6.39.0
best boox puzzles
- Wes Sewell · v6.39.0
really enjoy the daily challenges. great simple interface too
- Wayne Enright · v6.39.0
Quite fun but many of the words would never appear in the Oxford English Dictionary.
- Clifford Baylis · v6.38.0
have to buy a subscription to play
- Kendra Schroeder · v6.39.0
The puzzles are great, but I am really struggling with the lack of functionality in supporting different keyboard layouts. The app appears to use an in-app keyboard that can only display the QWERTY layout, which means that I have to painfully hunt-and-peck each letter. Accessing the crossword puzzle through a mobile browser somehow suppresses the on-screen system keyboard, so the only way for me to play crossword puzzles comfortably is on a desktop computer.
- Jennifer Glover · v6.39.0
Great brain games that are better than scrolling.
- Karina Gates · v6.39.0

- Leonora Dishman · v6.35.0

- John Gibes · v6.38.0
best ever daily games
- Jose Dias · v6.39.0
I'd give it five stars if it were less US-centric - clues regarding college football mascots, etc, which are impossible for non-Amiricans to guess - but it's only to me expected given that it's a US based media outlet.
- Karen Karn
Pips is trash. Bring back the Mini.
- Megan Ronquillo · v6.38.0
It's a really fun game and has a lot of varieties to choose from, I also recommend doing this order. 1) Wordle 2) Connections 3) Strands After this order, I do songless from the Lessgames website, I definitely recommend you these games and they are super fun!!! But the problem is, can you update the app to play offline anywhere you are. Thank You NYT Games 😁😁
- Timur Graur · v6.38.0
Fully subscription based, That's just fully stupid
- Ahmad Wase · v6.39.0
A dark mode in crossplay would be nice.
- Null Zero · v6.38.0
used to be good. shame so much is pay walled now.
- Jack Heyes · v6.38.0
The NYT games is the part of my morning routine I look forward to!
- Jennifer Murray · v6.38.0
A great puzzle app that has been losing features over time. I loved it, and was about to drop money on the subscription because of how generous they were. The removal of the Mini from free play was a kick in the face, and I now refuse to pay if NYT doesn't want to treat its userbase well. Latest "bonus" where the crosswords were open was great, but just a reminder of what they keep taking away and putting behind a paywall.
- James Clark (Zombieskittles) · v6.38.0
It forces you to use the onscreen touchscreen keyboard if you use a laptop. You cannot use the physical keyboard if you use the app. This makes completing the crossword significantly harder, especially if you are going for time. I hope this gets addressed.
- Staphany Lu · v6.38.0
it's fun when it is free
- Ray/Deb Gross · v6.38.0
cool
- kyle de waal · v6.38.0
I wish there was an option to play offline.
- Jay Civelli · v6.38.0
awesome games, short and great for expanding your vocab
- Paola Rios Schaaf · v6.38.0
I do Wordle every day. It's a great start to my day
- Katie Tinker · v6.38.0
Not having an offline feature is a bit weird?
- Stefan K · v6.38.0
Glitches for moto g54. When you load ap screen has some sort of screen noise. Mess of colors. Nothing legible
- Lorenzo Wong · v6.38.0
free the mini!!!!
- MartlinkDiamond · v6.38.0
Nice selection of games but subscription required for full selection.
- Nicholas Brett · v6.38.0
It just ended my 305 day streak for no decernable reason, despite me never missing a day. So that's the last straw with this buggy mess of an app and its randomly obtuse puzzles full of obscure knowledge that no one under the age 105 would know, and then the next day with its 1st grade level stuff. I don't know who this is for, and I only used it to connect with a loved one, but I'm just angry when I use it most of the time. Also, whoever makes Connections might be dumb as dirt and/or evil.
- Jesse Malpz · v5.66.0
we do these everyday!!
- Rebecca Stephens · v4.63.0
if the app closes before I complete the puzzle it resets. sometimes it just restarts on its own. I am a paid subscriber, their support told me to update my version. I'd like that working version NOW please
- Jean Gordon · v6.37.1
I think like EVERONE else. cant start the day without finishing Wordle.
- Amy Merrill · v6.37.1
the games are stimulating and the community behind them keeps them light and doable for a range of audiences
- Fig Russon-Jorgensen · v6.36.1
Too many Subscriptions pls delete all them NYT and bring back Zorse and Digits or I'll cast a spell on you guys DON'T MAKE ME DO IT but good games tho i wish there was a "Casual" mode for playing it infinitely and an Extra hard difficulty and i wish no subscriptions on Letter Boxed or Tiles and like add 4 more games or so and make the game playable offline pls
- Francis
love this app!
- Georgia Perry · v6.37.1
Horrendous app vocabulary. Allows double and triple letters. Bot is cheating like crazy. Disappointing.
- Vitaly Nazarov · v6.37.1
Ditch the keyboard We have those built in, and we use them every day, and they are familiar, and usable. yours is not. You competitively time us, and then slightly shift letters to make typing difficult. Are you gaming our intelligence, or our hand eye coordination?
- Philip Edwards · v6.36.1
there is no better all in one gaming app
- Munira Baghdadi · v6.37.1
why do over 300 companies need access to my data, I'm just trying to do a crossword I paid for. also why can't we download the day's puzzles and play offline? greedy, greedy stuff
- Paul Bassett · v6.36.1
fun, but not free
- no sir · v6.36.1
Connections and Wordle aren't opening anymore. Why don't you fix the app?
- Wafa Rashid · v6.37.1
I have enjoyed playing but, the games won't load. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled and the games still will not load. when this issue is fixed,I will change my rating. I subscribe and have the latest update.
- Kerri Allen · v6.36.1
Great games.
- Kim Potter · v6.37.0
Very good games. Wish they would be included in the Google Play Pass.
- Sven R · v6.36.1
Please fix the 300ms input delay. It should be a simple setting in whatever framework you built your app with.
- Thomas Kaldahl · v6.36.1
The game works well but not on the Samsung Fold 8 - either screen. please fix.
- R Alvarado · v6.37.0
Free games everyday is nice, I especially enjoy the "Wordle" game more than others. I don't know who makes the "Connections" game, but I would fight them without hesitation, and I never punched anybody in my whole life. The rest of the app is great tho 👍
- Jaypetto21 · v6.36.1
gud
- Rick Eshbach · v6.36.1
US spellings why not UK as well..
- David Hill · v6.37.0
The pricing model and locked games have gotten to feel too greedy
- Blake S.
So we'll set up and always enjoyable.
- Donna Flickinger · v6.36.1
you have to pay for subscription in order to do anything at all in this game
- HellDescent · v6.36.1
A good app for word games but it is relatively buggy. Sometimes when I start it, the app says I am offline despite being connected to wifi, but when I close and reopen the app, it resets to the correct connection status. Great puzzles and games, but the few annoying bugs knock off a star. Edit: I updated the app and the issue was entirely resolved.
- Griffin Yee · v6.36.1
when signed up I selected "Games" for my subscription. It was not until today I realized I have been charged $25/month for about 4 months, after saying that a resolution was never even tried to be reached from their end, a response of "if you want you money that bad take it up with your bank" was uncalled for. it's principal not so much money. As a business owner with a Cust. Service Dept. that is not a way to speak to anyone. I will never use this again after years of using my old account.
- Shawn st.aubin · v6.36.1
It's productive time pass with inbuilt learning. It's challenging and absorbing but keeps you mentally alert
- Rez A · v6.36.1
awesome daily games
- Brandon Oshiro · v6.36.1
nice options, but sometimes glitchy.
- Steve E G · v6.35.0
Excellent app, I play every morning. Needs a new Spangram First badge after 200 please
- Darren Baldock · v6.36.1
legitimately have to subscribe to play games
- Hunter Lamb
Low rating because the app’s subscription prompts feel sneaky and intrusive. When I tap a game, the Play button appears in the center of the screen, but right as I go to tap it, the button shifts upward and a Subscribe button appears where the Play button had been. I have accidentally tapped Subscribe because of this, and it feels like a dark pattern rather than a normal app design choice. The app constantly pushes subscriptions in other ways, detracting from the whole experience.
- Brian Knapp · v6.36.1
have to subscribe just to play, DONT GET THIS
- Ebany Jones · v6.36.1
I really enjoy the review on my Wordle guesses and seeing how they stack up to others.
- Wendy Moore · v6.36.1
It's ok. But it's very very very American. I'm on a free trial, no way I'll pay for this. I mean, Ricechex? Really, come on NYT, use real English and not made up American food names. I like wordle but that's it.
- Matthew Black · v6.36.1
Stop the bs where the subscription button pops up a second later below the play button. I know what the app is trying to do, trying to make me "accidentally" navigate to the subscription page. It's funny the first time but it's infuriating when I'm just trying to unwind and do a quick wordle on my down time. Seriously, stop doing this.
- Nikhil Jalla · v6.36.1
Really good app.
- Emily Capel · v6.36.1
wakes my brain every morning
- Lynne Jett · v6.36.1
it keeps pestering me to rate it. I have already declined many times so here it is. 1 star please let me play wordle in peace.
- Alex Noons · v6.36.1
I played and wanna play again but it doesn't let me 😒
- SteliotFo Naidraug · v6.36.1
Folks it's crashing on Xiaomi 17. Answering support response: - The phone is brand new and I installed the latest version from play store, so that's the updatest it can be :) - The app wont even open, so no way to report an error.
- Mohsen Bahman · v6.36.1
Great games but nightmare to cancel subscription. Both today's and historical games made available through subscription and enjoyable\challenging to play. my only negative, and a major one, is unable to cancel subscription - PayPal \google payments\NYT - infuriating
- Andy Jordan
No free crosswords? There are a few free games but the main reason I downloaded this was to play crossword and it's behind a paywall. I can play one round of Wordle and a couple others games but if you are not paying per month you are very limited.
- Paul
horrible game
- Alek Wawrzyniak
love wordle
- Craig P · v6.36.1
Getting a bit too American
- Tony Williams · v6.36.1
fun :D
- lisa green · v6.36.1
Fab little app to get the brain working on a morning! I've paid for the full access as I absolutely adore the 'tiles' game and connections 😊
- Bex Max · v6.36.1
They should restrict this app to the USA. How on Earth are people supposed to work out answers to Connections that are so heavily Americanised? Good game but not worth playing if you're not American. If you offer it globally then make the game global. Impossible to play for me but if you're from the USA, fill your boots 👍
- Martin Collins · v4.49.0
I don't need a pop up on how the games work every time I open the app, and there isn't a clear way to stop them from appearing.
