I've been playing this game on various platforms for almost 30 years. It's hands down one of the best games for smart phones. Zero ads. Just addictive game play and beautifully designed levels and a great storyline. The game is a 2D platform game with 3D animations.

Crashes constantly almost unplayable

The title says it all. Game constantly crashes on IOS barely playable honestly ive played it twice in the couple months ive have it. Mainly because now the 2nd time I go to play it I forgot it constantly crashed until it did it again which didn’t take very long

Won’t open

One of my favorite games since PC. Remember chanting shows health as 1, 2, or 3 birds above you. If bees kill you, then find birds and chant. Scrabmania is good for bees killing you, take elavator down, see the birds and chant. You will then have full health and will survive the bees to bring to Elum. Always keep an eye on your health and chant when you see birds to fill your health

I've had this game for a while now and I love it but after deleting it and reinstalling it after some time now the quick save feature doesn't work so if I die then I have to go quite a ways back in the game so if you can fix that bug I'd be happy to give 5 stars

Some caviats have been taken, such as the graphical fidelity, render depth, area transitions, dynamic character models, and yes, I've run into glitches. From Scrabs floating in holes to bird portals turning into "pixel vomit", and the controller support is limited to mixed (softlocked into throwing on a DS4 and DualSense). But I'll be damned, while it is one of the weakest ports of this PSone reimagining, I'm IMPRESSED to see the Vita port of this game running as well as it does on mobile.

Greatest side scroller franchise ever

The cinematic cutscenes, the depth, the gameplay. It’s a master piece. There’s no disputing the effort it takes to make such a great anti-hero / protagonist so like able. Abraham Lure is a great example what it means to be put in a position of power and influence for no particular reason. Labeled “the savior of the mudokens”, Abe is by far one of the greatest protagonists. He didn’t choose the life of being martyr, he just happened to be pushed in that position. Personally, I prefer Munches Oddysee, but the story in all these games is what I thrive on

Love the game …but

Has anyone else had issues with the sound? Worked fine the first 2 times I launched the app, but after that no sound at all. Checked all settings on phone and app, and tried uninstalling and reinstalling. No luck and the support tab doesn’t work. So much nostalgia!

Almost like the original

Beautiful artwork in foreground & background. Fantastic transitions. Controls are too close together and frustrating to use with my thumb or finger. The only effective way to use the controls is with the Apple Pencil. I’m so glad this game is available to play again. Brings back great memories of me getting stuck and my wife suggesting solutions.

Achievements won’t unlock

Love the game but Game Center achievements will not show completed. “Locked” reads above them and it shows 1% on most achievement badges.

External Display Bug

Great game, phenomenal work on this remaster. However, I am plagued by one issue that has been present for a long time now. When launching the game using an external HDMI display, the game absolutely WILL NOT LAUNCH. Until it is fixed, my review stays at 3 stars.

Scrabania glitch, cannot proceed

There is a glitch in scrabania where you need to use a password for the rings and it does not work. Every time you do correct password the native mudokon says it’s wrong.

My childhood on my iPhone

Omggg I use to love this game .. something made me think of it so When I found it on here i had to buy .. it’s worth it!! The controls are pretty good once you get the hang of it. Best trivia game ever with secret portals and levels along the way. It’s a brilliant game.

Someone said “ controller is a must “ and I want to clarify this is absolutely not the truth. Also claimed big screen is a must, also false. I played on an iPhone 5 no controller for 2 years on every oddsworld game. Never had any issues and always loved it. Still play on a iPhone 7 but I miss my 5. Amazing games!

Big screen game

I love that we have this game mobile. It really is a very good game, but the graphics are lacking and it is fairly glitchy. Also many solutions require funding a switch, pulley or lever that can be hard to see on such a small screen. If you know and love this game than getting it on mobile to fool around with can be fun but if you’ve never played it I highly recommend a better version you can play on the big screen. Also controller is a must.

Oddworld is the best!!

I’m such a huge Oddworld fan and have been since the first game on PSX. This reimagining of Abe’s Oddysee is incredible. The new sounds, graphics, interactions, and gameplay is refreshing. It’s like the entire game got a once over and it is a joy to play. I highly recommend New n Tasty for Oddworld inhabitants, and if you are new to the franchise, welcome in! It’s time to get even with the odd!

Great potential

The on screen buttons are reminiscent of pre-iPhone resistive touch screens where you push the button and 2 seconds later it responds... playing on my iPad Pro too so yeah not helpful when having to time button pushes for blinking b@mbs etc. I’ll try using a controller (should’ve just bought that the console version in that case).

Phenomenal.

I remember being so excited back in the 90’s to play this game. Seeing it in the App Store, I was hesitant because I don’t like a lot of the crossover, console to phone, games. The gameplay is usually tedious, and frustrating. That being said, this game is every bit as good as when I played it years ago. Incredible graphics, easy gameplay, just a beautiful game altogether. Download this game. It’s nearly perfect.

Great remake

my only issue is with the clumsiness of trying to control Abe with touch screen controls. Not really the apps fault, it’s just the nature of converting a controller based game to touch screen. It works, but takes practice and can be annoying.
