Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath

This was an amazing game at this price point, it was a bargain pay that is really worth it, the gameplay and the size of the game was amazing, for that 1gb, it's amazing that you packed a big open world with fps and 3rd person view point while the game is immersive, it was more amazing than 90% of the modern games right now so, you should buy this if you're into wild west open world shooting games, I'll call this game a true masterpiece because of it's original game essence.

The game is great except being a PS2/Xbox original port and thus having pretty low res textures. But on my y700 2023 with snapdragon 8 gen plus 1 upon entering Buzzarton, right after the cutscene where 2 guys with rockets collapse the bridge together with a stranger the game just crashes. Even after restart when I try to load the save it crashes instantly anyway. Fix this!

don't bother, like other reviews I couldn't get the game past the first loading screen. You click start new game, select difficulty, select your name, game loads then you are back at your home screen and the game has closed. I was hoping that because those reviews were older than the game would be patched by now, well it isn't.

Completely unplayable. Can't even get past the first loading screen after I start a new game. The very first loading screen pops up for a second and then crashes and closes the game/app. Tried so many different things to get it to work. Nothing. This new update 1.0.16 are the best update ever because the game has already running on 60 fps and it gives me immersive cause of smooth gameplay and unlike from previous version just only capped 30 fps but i like the story line since I've been playing this for 4 years ago and the one thing i ever wanted i wish the HD version will happen to released on mobile soon because i saw this from psvita and other platforms

This has always been a great game. This is a decent port, decent enough touch pad controls, i suppose. The worst aspect of this port is the lighting. The game has frequently atrocious shadows and shading that seem to sporadically pop in and out of existence. I cannot seem to fix this no matter how I adjust the performance settings

Don’t buy on newer hardware

I’ve got an iPhone 15 pro, and this game launches to the Square 1 screen but no further! Would love to play it if I was able. Hoping if I can run it it will support my controller at least. Great game! Just play it somewhere else until they fix this!

Everything I wanted from this port, however, the game saves get corrupted about 30% of the time so I had to save 3 times every time I saved to ensure my game would be safe. Incredible game though, amazing work.

First time playing

As the title says, this is my first time playing the odd World Series in general and this game as well and I’ve been having nothing but fun and a good time playing it. I don’t mind the graphics and stuff like that. I love older games and as long as they play, good, I’ll be there as of now. I have a backbone like phone controller too, just to enhance/help with fluidity & more controls to make the experience even more optimal. But if you have to use the screen itself, it may take some time to get use to. But I have no doubt that you’ll enjoy the game I highly recommend this game if you have a couple dollars to spend. Glad I bought it Playing currently on iPhone 15 with a razer kishi and enjoy it just as much if not more as my other 7 consoles. Only because this is with me anytime I want to game on !! 5 star good game classic game

Great port of a great game

This game is great. Its pretty smooth but it has been a year since any adaptation and i think it deserves a 3d filter added as well as a small hd overhaul? Maybe smoother combat? My only complaint is that i think people may have a harder time playing the game without a stronger target assist.

Surprise hit

I was blown away when I first played this game on xbox. Having only previously played Abe’s exodus I had no idea what to expect and this game is vastly different but the world, gameplay and story here are top notch. Controller is required and it really needs to be played on a big screen. Things can be hard to spot on a small phone screen.

I think with a wireless controller like for the PlayStation 5 or Xbox 360 the game would be fine, but for iOS the need to hold the tablet at the same time moving with camera angle changes is nearly impossible with two hands including weapons engagement and actions. It is just frustrating that is takes nearly perfect moves and timing to defeat the first few bosses. Time will tell if this will continue to be a practice makes perfect game.

Love it, but...

First of all, I love this game. I played it back on the XBox and I was so stoked that it was for iOS as well. I have been enjoying playing through this game again but there is one thing that is standing out to me. So many of my saved games become "damaged" and I can't load from them. I just finished with the final outlaw in Mongo Valley and went to visit the black market. When I was exiting the black market, Stranger glitched and didn't walk all the way out the door so I got stuck literally on the inside of the door with no way to get back out. So I tried to load from the auto-save after beating the final outlaw just before going to the black market and that save was "damaged." Two of my previous saves before that were damaged as well so I was forced to go back to a save from the very first outlaw of Mongo Valley. This has happened multiple times during my playthrough so far. I love this game enough to push through and repeat chapters if I need to, but it would be so nice if saves didn't get damaged so we could revert back due to glitches like this.

That was my first experience in Oddworld. What an amazing and charming storyline. I hope they will announce part 2 someday. Strangers storyline impressed me significantly and that octopus at the end suggests that we should see part 2 in near future.
