Sometimes the joy of any game is not knowing what comes next in spite all the pain best planning. This game delivers - and sometimes that moment of failure is frustrating - so you start again. A simple UI driving strong storytelling. Worth $4.99 - definitely worth any sale they offer.
- Eyevaan · v3.5
Criminal how a gorgeous game like this has 3.8 stars while disguised idle games full of gacha get higher. Is it hard? Yes. But that's intentional. It is designed to be a space SURVIVAL game. You'll lose a lot of runs to RNG, but to an extent you can learn to manage resources better to have higher chances. My main pull to it was that the atmosphere is insanely good. Try it with headphones, seriously. If you love space themed games like me, try it. This is a hidden gem.
- Jeffrey Johnston · v3.0
This game is not recommended for beginners. It requires a lot of patience because the RNG is very aggressive. However, if you are lucky and get a departure ship, the game will be easier to beat, but still hard because of the RNG and random event.
- Sam Adrian · v4.4
В игре есть русская локализация на момент 01.08.2026 года (в принципе, комментарий пишу только ради этого). Всем советую) Разработчикам спасибо)
- AbroGirde · v3.5
It's a challenging game, and that's why I love it. I highly recommend going on easy mode. Then, pay attention to why you died. Try to learn from each death. For those convinced It's all about luck, maybe the random events were too tough. I've got a work-around for that. SPOILER: Going back to previous star systems don't trigger a random event, and you can still drill/probe and be better prepared to explore. It's a hard game, play smart and you'll be rewarded.
- Joshua DeLeo · v4.4
very well executed space surivial, travel, & resource manager. good game, no ads. although difficult to tell what's out there because of the high probability of death & / or break-down, as there should be. we don't exactly belong "out there." lol. o man. pirate aliens. ohoy e.t.!
- sPiRaL aRchiTeCt · v4.4
nice game but it's lack of stories
- Gilang Rangga
The game is quite interesting but it feels like it is designed to kill you at some point and force you to restart. Basically, sooner or later you finnd yourself jumping at several systems in a row with no ability to get fuel and you die... That's something I dislike deeply so I have to give this rating.
- Gherman Eugen · v3.2
Out There: Ω Edition is a unique space survival game with a mysterious atmosphere and thoughtful resource management. Every journey feels different, and the story encourages exploration and discovery. It can be challenging and slow at times, but if you enjoy strategy and sci-fi adventures, it's a memorable experience that's worth playing.
- SuhA (- SB)
I don't need the tutorial I've played this game over the years and it's such an awesome game. I tried grinding through the tutorial and gave up after finally making a space folder. Seriously needs a skip tutorial.
- DaveLoves · v3.5
play it for 3 hours ,this game is good, fun. just need to be understand for the gameplay mechanic, and need so much luck to Finish it. overall good.
- Wisnu Wijaya · v4.4
Fun game, but check options and enable "cemetery gates" so you can find your old ships and loot them. I do want to also have more ships, or the ability to rig 2 ships to fly together, and the "game balance" part where you can't refill your reserves while you mine a resource is pretty silly (why do I have to dump hydrogen from my probe to close the menu to refill my fuel tanks?). I also think alien language words known should be embedded in your old ships so the alien interaction is enhanced.
- Lyle Goodwin · v4.4
So i can make like 3 jumps before there is just no way to gather H? Every run? So….. how is this a game?
- BillyDupris123 · v3.5
love this game

don't waste your money and time on this game, wish I could pre-view this game

This game is fun and innovative. Very interesting. I have found that everytime i try to go back and continue where I was, my game has been erased. (Please include a Cloud Save Funtion!) I dont know if this is something that others have experienced or not. But i am using a Samsung S22 Ultra. I would like for this to be corrected. Thank you.

fly to a couple of planets and run out of resources and die. repeat. stupid
- Ti Dub · v4.4
it's ok but nothing like what is described. you do not walk on planets and is highly repetitive.
- Adam Pickering
A well made game that's immersive but impossibly difficult. Great graphics, writing and music won’t save this game from itself. Other reviewers have detailed the problem: gameplay is way.too.RNG!

This is a fine roguelike game. It took me a while to get to like it but after I spent some time on it it just gets better and better.
- B Hawkins · v4.4
pretty good but you need insane luck to beat this game
- Tazakka Thoriq · v4.4
this game would be a lot more fun but I can't get into it. it feels too random and too brutal. I'll try for a few hours and not have any runs that last more than ~7 hops. I can't even see what the game has to offer because it kills me so fast.
- Bryce Barbara · v4.4
Come back to play again and thing's changed. cant start new without tutorials every time, no ships you unlocked, this game went pretty junky now gotta say im uninstalling it forever now i think. it was better before.
- Mandy Shultz · v3.2
be honest, this can be a fun game, but no checkpoint in game ? sorry, it's not worth of time
- Gilar Annanto · v4.4

- Henry Coleman · v3.2
Decent game, clean and easy to understand. but very repetitive after your first run, needs huge update to make it worth more than 6h of playtime
- Radu Anastase · v3.2
After a while the game just becomes a RNG-based mining/probing simulator

This is one of the best games i have ever played, definetly in the top 10, the concept is so good especially the "cemetery ships" it makes progressione better and more easier, i recomend it to evrybody. ❤️

Yeah umm, could you enable achievements again? I have absolutely no idea why developers think disabling them just because of some API changes or whatever doesn't come across as unbelievable in how lazy it is. Thanks.
- Sid Werner · v4.4
I always hoped this game would get a sequel or update. And returning some stuff definitelt has been done. But its lost its feel. Its slight lack of touch and polish that gave it its charm. I beat this whole game at one point. Now there is goals and everything but events seem worse. no matter what if i drill 10 my drill breaks everytime. Before it was a dice roll. Now... 100% failure. 5 systems deep this time i just realised i liked the old versions more and got bored. Uninstalling now. Sucks
- DrunkPauloCosta · v4.4
I've played this game on and off for many years now, gotten all of the achievements and endings. It's challenging (you will die/reset A LOT) but relaxing and I love the artstyle, themes and gameplay. I think a sequel similar to this but with more roguelike level-up elements between runs would be really well received. I also loved/miss the Out There story games. Thanks very much to the devs for keeping this game compatible with new devices!
- Chloe Brooking · v4.4
my kind of game. cool.
- Johnathan Cain Buckley · v4.4
I'm late to the party with this one, but it's a fantastic game which evokes a real atmosphere of being lost and alone in the far reaches of space. Love the comic book style font and artwork and the dreamy soundtrack. No combat is also appreciated in this game. The only problem so far is that it doesn't sign into Google Play Games and I desperately want to chase the 64 achievements! If the game could be updated to fix this, I'll add the fifth star to this review. Please make it happen StoreRider!
- Rodney Grey · v4.4
absolutely brilliant game
- Vinny Lowe
it is updated for 2025!!!! Playable on android now
- Rattenus Rattoonus · v3.2
great to see it's being updated ,,I've figured out how to win but even though I can I still think the basic ring of distance should be just a hair bigger I find myself locked into certain areas because the next star is right on the blue circle line and I can't make the travel
- Almost Ahero · v4.4
It's weird to play a game that fixes itself for you to never win. One might think, 'yeah, but space is tough.' If you wanted to make it realistic, you could've just made another game, since we're NOT in spaceships exploring the universe. Other than being basically unwinnable, it's well made.
- Corey Cross · v4.0
Cons: - Too RNG based, no strategy involved at all - No meta currency, no progression system for improving runs - No agency, player choices feel unimpactful - No altering starting load out, ships always start with the same build - Technology must be found every run, no permanent tech unlocks - Multiple chances to be hardlocked and instant lose run - Can only get fuel from gas planets unless you have right tech, too easy to never find gas giants Pros: - Space - Music
- Matt Hughes
A masterpiece in my opinion, a great game that requires skill to carefully manage resources.Even with it's simple mechanics it's still challenging due to chances of getting soft locked or getting vital equipment damaged. It is something that would definitely keep you entertained to reach the end, even if it takes many tries.
- ethan ho · v4.0
It's interesting, but I've played multiple times on easiest setting, and I've only completed 1 run.
- Scott Smith · v4.0
I have enjoyed this game since the day it came out, this time I'll pass it 100%
- Luis · v4.0
I remember this game from a long time ago! now, it is simply too hard. my ship can't carry enough and I'm just slapping on duct tape and sipping fuel until I die
- J Barclay · v4.0
This game is beautifully designed, and very challenging to beat. It is possible though - after many failed attempts, I completed the blue mission for the first time today. Looking forward to using my new starting ship to complete the rest of the missions
- Raven Rose · v3.2
Entirely luck based, nothing you do matters unless you're lucky, and even then, death sets you back to square one, it's not like you gain knowledge between playthroughs, because nothing you learn is helpful unless you're incredibly lucky, if you're the luckiest person alive, maybe it's alright, but for someone like me? It's constantly insulting my efforts by spitting in my face because I dared to play the game, I detest that.
- Riga Tony · v4.0
very difficult, even on easy.
- Luke Bastille · v4.0
the game is too based on luck why should i lose cuz of RNG
- J H · v4.0
It really could have been a neat game with a lot to do and places to explore. The small inventory is a terrible design, totally kills the game. The fact that you have to drop cargo to grab fuel is dumb. Theres no reason to make the game like this. It would have been super fun collecting stuff and looking for new ships or technology. How hard is it to imagine being able to upgrade your inventory? Im just glad I have the play pass, I would have been very dissappointed otherwise.
- Ronald Andersen · v4.0
used to be a great game but now is unplayable. the easy and normal difficulty now play like hard difficulty or higher its ridiculous, i cant make it past 3 stars without running out of fuel or my ship falling apart like its made from f#king paper. as it is now i highly recommend playing something else.
- Daniel Wells · v4.0
very small app icon. fun game though
- d · v4.0
The gameplay is novel, but high repetitive. You jump to a new star system and decide which planets to visit. There are 3 types of planet, each of which offers different resources, but each type costs you different resources to mine. Run out of any of three key resources and the game ends. There are tech upgrades that allow you to jump further, use less of a resource, and so on, but you find those randomly, and can lose them as well. I’ve had long games where I only got 1-2 techs, and didn’t have the resources necessary to install them. The game is very heavy on randomization—random events can easily end your game by, for example destroying your engines without the resources needed to repair them, or dropping you in a star system that you can’t jump away from because you haven’t got the tech upgrades that allow for longer jumps. Star systems are mostly randomized so it’s easy to encounter a string of systems where you can’t replenish your oxygen and so you die. There are four ways to win, but after 50+ play-throughs, I’ve never even gotten close to one of them, and I shudder to think how rough this game would be on Moderate. The language system for dealing with aliens is fun but gets repetitive after a while, and the alien races are entirely interchangeable. So while I like the idea of the game, in practice it’s an exercise in frustration, because no strategy will overcome the effects of randomness, at least no strategy I can figure out.
- Bohemonds · v3.2
Frustrating, all you do is grinding resources, and you constantly die, because you out of fuel
- Max Sh · v4.0
I have died hundreds of times. But maybe this next time will be different.. Best game for Android?
- Shawn Hood · v4.0
So game is hard but easy to understand. And it is worth the price to say the least. But devs you need fix an issue, there is no button to login or sign out of Google Play games which means the 59 achievements are useless and myself a trophy hunter hate this . So please devs fix this issue and take it as a suggestion.
- arjun bittu · v4.0
When I got my new iPhone I was forced to delete the app and couldn’t find it on the App Store. Happy to have the game back
- YungViber · v3.2
I tried playing without hints, and I was failing faster each run. I looked up beginner tips, and barely any Benefit. This game appears to be mostly luck based. I have enjoyed many a rogue like, and this game is up there in purely luck based gameplay. There is no chance I will ever get all of the words, i “forget” technologies as fast as I learn them. I can attempt to keep a supply or resources, but I can mine a dozen worlds in a row and still not get the basic repair metal. This game is not fun. I am already sick of scrimping by just to get mostly the same random encounters as every other game. It is resource management, without having a consistent method to get the resource you need, and if if you find a new ship or tech, you might not be able to do anything with them if you didn’t use up your few cargo spaces holding onto 3 cobalt for the last 30 jumps.
- J3Carlisle · v3.2
So… awhile back this game (which has been on all phones I’ve had over the last idk- 9 years maybe) disappeared! I was super upset as it is one of 5 games I always have on my phone. But… last week… it reappeared!!! I am veryyy happy with that turn of events! I highly recommend the game to anyone who likes sci-fi, comics, exploration, rogue-lite RPG story driven games. It involves NO flashy colors and the soundtrack is very calming while feeling like-‘80’s space lol. I mentin the light and soundscape bccI have awful migraines and this is one game i can play when i am miserable and cant sleep nor can i be in a bright room- it is also perfect if you are an insomniac or have anxiety. I never feel as if it is a waste of time and the story is neat. If the store still allows you to buy it it is well worth mkney and i highly recommend it!!
- Tuluelda01 · v3.2
Good concept, but pretty buggy. It lost me when my only stack of helium got deleted with no confirmation.
- Ahhagsvevejjahs · v3.2
Minesweeper in space. Stumble from star to star until you run out of resources. Then die. Somewhat tedious and definitely frustrating.
- muddy water dragon · v3.2
This game is a really fun and interesting little diversion. It is certainly challenging in the beginning, frustratingly so at times, but each excursion builds on each other making a wonderfully replayable experience.
- Skycat-777 · v3.2
I like this game but it’s too hard to read the text on iPhone 11 Pro Max (I have 20/20 Vision)
- Feativalman · v3.2
EZ to understand and play; with virtually unlimited endings based on player choices. Nice graphics… Good time. Well worth a couple bucks!
- Rocky5966 · v3.2
The game is good and very interesting, but even when you played it like 30 times or so, learned most of the mechanics and act the best possible way, the game still randomly kills you - like, sends you to a star formation where you can’t jump out from because your engines are not good enough (and you’re stuck and have to restart) or you just don’t meet a particular planet type on the way for a few steps and run of one of the resource (means, you die). It’s like punishing you randomly while you didn’t do anything wrong and you have to restart again and again. It’s not right.
- art926 · v3.2
Pro: Absolutely wonderful gameplay; The storytelling is excellent; The UI is precise. Con: The sound doesn’t work. Nothing no music no sound effects. Even when the settings for sound maxed out. It’s such a bummer. I guess they never finished that part.
- Really a nickname? C'mon now · v3.2
“Out There” is a masterpiece. It does so many things right, and avoids the pitfalls of other games. The whole thing is a labor of love, from the hand-drawn art to the gorgeous score, from the great writing to the fun mechanics of the game. I find myself coming back to this every time I want to get lost in another universe for a while.
- Error Undefined · v3.2
Clearly some folks like this kind of thing, but in a typical game you only get to travel to a few stars. You either just didn't find enough fuel, oxygen, or took hull damage due to some random event. I just don't enjoy playing the beginning over and over. Who knew?
- Maine Jay Bird · v3.2
I love this game however, there seems to be a bug where if you land on some rocky planets you attempt to drill and it won’t let you. There’s seems to be an invisible confirm box slightly above the drill text box, once you hit it the character says “I have the impression this alien wants to enter my ship” but then the resource screen shows minerals as if you used your drill with no alien there. This sometimes results in a broken drill.
- Song is k · v3.2
The game plays well enough, but too many features are just a tease. When I return to ‘supply’ needing fuel or oxygen, I get ‘hull repaired’ , but nothing further. I cannot store materials anywhere but on my ship. Hence ‘supply’ is just a tease. A planet is described as ‘rich in fuel’, but gives less fuel for each probe, and usually does not give enough fuel on the first probe, etc.. Hence ‘rich in fuel’ is just a tease. Likewise, ‘rich in metallic ores’, etc. Briefly, there are dead ends everyhere we turn.
- EagleAt755 · v3.1
This is a fascinating concept, beautifully executed, with great controls and a wonderful story. It’s a real shame that it just isn’t fun to play. Failure is built in to this type of game so failing a lot isn’t the problem. It is the fact that playing it just isn’t fun. You play, you die, new game world generated, repeat until you get lucky enough to unlock better ships. But that’s the problem. It is such a chore to do anything with the starting ship that it just feels like a painful grind getting anything else unlocked. What I’m saying is that at some point I realized I had been playing for an hour and was miserable. I wasn’t having any fun. At which point I wondered why in the hell I was even playing this. Just move on. It isn’t worth it.
- Stepbasin · v3.1
I have been enjoying this game for some time, what i can say is at least it isn’t a pay to win game, i am willing to pay one flat fee for an app but not games that drain your bank account dry. I haven’t won yet but i love the soundtrack (so beautiful) , thoughtful storyline, the graphics and strategy of mining resources to reach the star systems, also learning technologies etc. I really do wish there was a way to save your progress or an emergency universal resource (omega) to replenish a depleted resource because if you die even once because your hull collapsed or your fuel is exhausted, its back to square one no matter what , no matter how far along you have progressed in the game, no matter how many technologies you have learned, i have never died so many times in a game in my life( its usually the fuel depletion that will get you). The default ships cargo hold doesn’t have very much capacity, so you cant just mine as much as you want unless you find a derelict spaceship w/ a bigger cargo hold. There are surprise jumps that can possibly happen on little to no fuel but once you finish the jump you cant refuel , even if there is a gas giant there , you need fuel to launch the probes. I think the game was designed to be almost impossible to win intentionally, I haven’t even tried it on the hard mode and ‘easy’ mode is anything but that lol. I still love the game ,dont get me wrong, but winning has become an endless challenge. I want to play the sequels next but i first want to play through the original. This is just an honest review, I’m not uninstalling this game any time soon, i have had it for some time across different devices, Android and IOS, i still absolutely love it, Great Job Developer!
- Ceekay Mars · v3.1
I love this game. Great challenging gameplay, fascinating story, and satisfying endings. Seriously, this game is well worth the money. Don’t listen to the RNG haters. If you play the game right, only the most outrageous RNG will ever kill you. The game is all about managing risk and balancing it with reward. Taking big risks or not preparing for a risk and then blaming RNG is wrong. P.s. always probe to 10km, you’ll thank me later :P
- rotgut 80 · v3.1
I struggled a lot with this game initially it felt impossible and unfair. However it finally clicked with me and I started doing a bit better. One thing that helped me was realizing that you can choose a new starting ship that you’ve unlocked by selecting new game instead of quick start. Anyway, I really like it now. The visuals, the music, the excellent writing, and even the challenge/RNG making you sweat. I would recommend it. Gotta love when you’re late game and all your 20 stack of Omega gets jettisoned and then an alien destroys your sun probe and your extra inventory slots are destroyed, along with the items in those slots being lost in space. Yep

- R0b0c@p · v3.1
As I do enjoy the game and it’s difficult nature, I do have one complaint. No matter what I’m doing in game, randomly the pause menu comes up. This is a constant (every 3 minutes) annoyance. It makes me second guess even playing.
- Doodoopumper · v3.1
Just want to thank the devs for picking them game back up. It was one of my favorites but when I got it on my iPhone X, it was improperly fitted. Not anymore! I can’t wait to start a new run; thanks again!
- xHexical · v3.1
I was reading some of the reviews on this game and I saw that quite a lot of them, possibly the majority, complain about RNG. RNG certainly is a big factor in this game but that is also where the strategy comes in. You have to plan and account for inevitable bad luck. You also have to plan for good luck. I feel that if you prepare enough, then you can get out of nearly every situation in this game, by installing specific technologies or by storing extra resources. Anyway, I loved this game and poured a lot of hours into it. It is difficult to complete but when you do it gives a lot is satisfaction.
- AppReviewerBro · v3.1
So far I have over 100+ plays on easy and I still haven’t come anywhere close to getting any ending, every run will start out great until some random encounter breaks all my equipment and then I run out of fuel due to somehow 10 solar systems in a row not having a single fuel source, or any other seemingly unlikely resource shortage. It’s a great and simple game, but that simplicity also means that most of the time you just literally aren’t going to win, period. I want to like it but in retrospect it’s all pretty dull, all the ships are mostly the same (the stats are “different” but as far as I can tell it only makes a difference of 10 resource use max) , no ship ever has enough space to build the upgrades that make any late game survivable, and literally on the easiest mode it’s just impossible to win even after 100+ tries. Fix the RNG and it could be good, hell even just make it so that there’s a higher chance for good RNG instead of a 90% chance to basically die instantly and a 10% chance to find 10 fuel floating around, just something that doesn’t make it feel like you’re just getting kicked in the teeth with every warp.

The game is fantastic and worth the buy! Enjoyed playing this game long ago before the omega update and was pleased with the updates they have made. One problem I did have was it lagged once I upgraded to a new iPhone and was sadden but just had to wait a little for the great dev’s to Deliver optimizations :D! Now there are two bugs that I have gone through with the recent update starting with, when I want to drill a random planet it won’t register then I press it a few more times and it acts like I went through dialogue and skips it like a missed event(love reading all the little events). Another was when I closed the game and came back later to resume and my ship had all bars at zero and screen prompt saying cancel and pressing it didn’t do anything and ship was supposedly back at square one but could still see all planets I passed through. Other than that I’ve been enjoying the game and recommend anyone to try the game.
- WilfredCynid · v3.1
Love everything about the theme of this but the fuel economy is simply unfun. Glad I only wasted a dollar. It is way too easy to run out of fuel because everything takes fuel and you can enter systems with nine to harvest repeatedly and then you loose. Really disappointed.
- Physnut · v3.1
As of now, the slowdown and choppiness present before is now gone. The runs like a dream on iOS 13+. I tested it on my IPhone 11 and IPad Air 3. With that being said, I am really enjoying this game. From the atmosphere to the music, you are going to be in for a treat. The story is the star of the show. It’s a choose your own text adventure with a really unique art style. The game throws some resource management in for the survival part of the game. Traveling through space and visiting mysterious worlds consumes helium, oxygen, and iron. Those are your basic elements you need to keep an eye just to get around. Other types exist for crafting and events. People seem to complain about the difficulty. The fact that you can die at any moment is the draw of the game. You are exploring a vast alien galaxy....of course you are not invincible.
- MushaAleste · v3.1
thank y’all for optimizing this for the new gen iphones!!! still love playing this game
- Dlcstncrsniy · v3.1
First off, let me explain that I'm NOT overreacting when I say this, but this game is very unforgiving. Don't get me wrong, I like this game, I especially love making fun of the alien species with my brother, but when you just want to beat the game, that concept is a total waste of effort. I have tried so hard to beat the game and I even reached Earth's Solar System again, but not before I run out of fuel as soon as I jump for the last time; I even had the Stellar Embryo (if you haven't played the game yet, that is an extra life element,) but my extra chance got yeeted out of the window when it put me in a crappier ship that couldn't even travel to the next star system. In conclusion, I'm conflicted about other people purchasing this game; If you consider buying this game, please take warning in the fact that even the slightest mistake (even on EASY mode,) this game will freaking PUNISH you via death/going adrift in space, over and over again...
- WiseArkAngel · v2.5
Very fun and a good, creative little time-killer, but on the iPhone XR this runs super slowly. I didn’t even know iOS apps could run this poorly.

Is a horrible experience all around which is new to me because it was a blast to play! That’s the whole problem I can’t run this game on my iPhone XR without it freezing and stuttering. WEIRD PLEASE FIX. If you’re planning on getting it be nervous cause it might not even work on your phone! One star cause it won’t run. Otherwise GREAT GAME.

Game runs like garbage on iPhone 11 Pro. Constant frame rate drops, unresponsive button presses, aspect ratio not optimized... get it together developers!

The game is very laggy on my iPhone XS. But on my old iPhone 7 is working fine. Maybe because last time it was updated 2 years ago?

Nihilistic ending, no new game plus, unsatisfying.

Finding a lot of fuel? Well, time for a random encounter where half of it disappears and destroys your telescope. That’s alright, fuel’s been abundant the whole trip? Rest assured it won’t be for the next however many systems you jump to that have gas planets with no fuel. This game is not difficult; it’s punishing. There is no “playing it safe” or “living to fight another day”. On Easy difficulty, I’ve never had a game last more than 10 star systems - and of absolutely no mistake of my own save for trying desperately to enjoy this game. Alas, I cannot.

You can’t get through it. Why go to all this trouble to create a great experience and then terminate everyone before they can get into the game? Fail.

This was a pretty cool game....but unfortunately doesn’t run well on the new iPad Air.

On easy mode the game won’t give hardly you any fuel from planets. Don’t waste your money on this game. They didn’t play test it.

I had a really enjoyable time playing this game despite its difficulty but I had to quit when, after a few hours of playing it, the game started lagging and bugged out. When I restarted the game the frame rate had dropped so much that the game was unplayable as it no longer ran smoothly. I restarted my phone, restarted the game, made a new game entirely... nothing. That quickly became extremely frustrating, so I couldn’t continue playing.
