Patchwork The Game

I've only played the app version. It's fine for a casual game with a friend, but the game is not balanced. The 7x7 bonus is difficult to get and not worth a lot if you get it. I've noticed that the single patches are spaced so that the 1st person to get a patch gets most of them. There are too many times that the only option is to auto-pass. I've seen 3 full rounds of just auto-pass which is dull. Also, the backgrounds overpower the interface. The game needs a bit of re-work.

Take no for an answer! It's incredibly annoying to be asked to enable notifications every time I launch the app and prompted constantly to sign into Play Games. I don't want to! Also, the UI is awful. The menu and settings pages are a bunch of vague symbols with no text. The implementation of the game itself is fine, but the app feels like it was designed by someone who hates their users.

Patchwork is a great modern classic 2 player only game that is well implemented by DIGIDICED. No issues at all playing against AI. There are six different levels of difficulty. In the Settings you can choose original colours and original scoring. Or you can buy different themes if you like.

Like the game, but too many UI issues to name here within the character limit and bugs, like completed games not leaving the running games list. It's also super lame how they handled the server outage, when games timeout within 24h. They should have reset game timers or not allow players to boot others for the same amount of time the servers were out.

I don't usually write good reviews cause I tend to have high standards, but I think Patchwork is not just passable but actually good with the user interface. Game actually has some sensibilities like allowing you to play while with A.I waiting for live players. Subtle things like shapes on top while choosing patch or shape is also good. Not just passable,but above average

I have the hardcopy of thr game and enjoyed it so much I got the app! I saw the reviews about glitches and haven't come across any,so i suspect they are older reviews. app is brilliant. You can play offline against 6 different difficulties. It's easy to play online. You can choose to join the queue to play random online: long form or short form matches. Get matched within 60s in long form. Also, you can create lobbies to invite specific people, or you can play casual matches against friends.

Love playing patchwork in person and now the app allows us to play when apart. It's easy to take a move and then your oppent has 24 hours to play back but can both keep playing at the same time too if not to busy. Only gets four stars as some times it glitches out and gets a bit clunky but most of the time works great and only glitches rarely.

Still haven't be able to play a Fast Game. I don't know if the fast game queue actually works. With normal ranked games a game take days to end. Update After more then 6 months, the problem hasn't been fixed yet

Bugs galore. If I hit the settings cog whilst in a game I can't get it to disappear again making the game unplayable. Also choosing an opponent and hitting start game only works half the time.

Seems like a great replica of the board game, the AI Is great to practice with. Only thing I could want is asynchronous play. Strike that it has asynchronous play. It's even better.

Game is great,but as of the march update the ability to go back to a game you started is not working when playing against the ai. So basically,don't start a game unless you can finish because you won't be able to finish it later.

Update - Great I can now play again after the developers issued another update which fixed the problem. Thank you for your quick response............... I loved this game BUT I updated this game app today and it will not open. I have tried uninstalling and installing again but to no avail. Really disappointed.

There was an update issue this week. There were challenges. But, this review is not about that. The development team did an outstanding job stepping up to resolve. Moreover, the development team took the time to reach out and respond to every review, support ticket, social media post. It is easy to be a critic - incredible to be supportive. The 'hard' level of gameplay is super frustrating because the AI takes FOREVER to choose a piece. It's like every move you make it's doing complex maths equations to work out the best possible way to screw you over. Wouldn't mind if it was faster because I like a challenge but waiting is such a drag when you have limited battery power. Also the game bugs out and crashes every now and then when you choose a piece which is infuriating when you're almost at the end of a game.

Nice game, not very common. There is a similar one, but the rules are very different... looks similar, but this concept I believe is unique. The graphics are nice, works fluid. The sound is proper the the type of game, a relaxing music. One you understand the rules, you will see that there are several strategies to win. I would like an option to play in a bigger platform, a more extended game, but also different shapes and obstacles to make the placement of the pieces more challenging :)

I think this game would be fun to play against a human opponent, but I find it to be pointless to play against an AI that can predict and beat all of your moves, due to the non-randomness of the tile distribution at the beginning of the game. I don't like chess, and now I know that I don't like this either. Too bad, I wanted to like it.

Die UI ist sehr schön, aber unübersichtlich. Statt 3D-Effekten und Animationen hätte ich lieber eine flache Ansicht von oben, bei der nicht nur meines sondern auch das Brett des Gegners sehen kann. So spiele ich lieber auf Boardgamearena.

I really like the real board game, so I was glad to find it online and practice. Good thing for its price. A bit too much animation for my taste. The only thing that I seriously dislike is when I play a tie with AI character and the system shows the winning symbol near AI icon. That's very disappointing

Great game! I love visual-spatial puzzles and this game has fascinated me. It does have the occasional bug, but is generally easy to resolve. This makes me want to get a copy of the board game, except I would dread the cleanup.

Reducing my rating because there has been no reply or attempt to address the issues mentioned previously. As stated previously, a great game was made an app and then left to decline. Endless errors, no enhancements or fixes since I paid for it years back. No one listening or attempting to fix it. I feel a sadness because the concept is superb, and yet I wish I could get my money back. Last updated in 2017, says it all. And still charging for the privilege.

I love this game but I feel like i bought it and it has been left to decline. Never get a quick game anymore, loads of bugs that make it really frustrating to try an play regularly.
