Lead a dynasty to victory in the new adaptation of the acclaimed board game!
Found an Empire Lead your dynasty to victory in the Warring States period of ancient China in the new digital adaptation of the acclaimed board game from Tigris & Euphrates designer Reiner Knizia. Build & Conquer Conflict is inevitable as your influence expands. Wage war upon neighboring states to slow their growth, and build spectacular pagodas to increase your own prestige. How will your reign be remembered? Balance in All Things Expand your civilization by placing tiles that represent the five facets of a thriving kingdom: Governors - Keep the peace and quell revolts with a strong civic leadership! Soldiers - Defend your growing empire -- or wage war upon your neighbors! Farmers - Cultivate the banks of the Yellow and Yangtze rivers! Traders - Acquire the resources your people need to prosper! Artisans - Shape the culture of your dynasty and inspire your citizens! Your legacy will be judged by your weakest category, so a wise leader must maintain harmony to achieve victory! Praise for the physical board game: "It's all very strategic as you build kingdoms and decide the best moment to attack. The game is very intense. It's delicious stress." - The Dice Tower "Yellow & Yangtze is just awesome. Because you're trying to get a balance of all different colors, it's not just a tug-of-war back-and-forth. There's sort of this circular cycle of motion of different colors that people are going for, and it really makes the game super enjoyable. Overall, this game is amazing." - Game Boy Geek "An exceptional thematic work. Yellow & Yangtze condenses many many years of historical upheaval into a gripping hour of satisfying hobby." - PlayerElimination © 2019 Dire Wolf Digital, under license from Dr. Reiner Knizia. excellent adaptation of top Knizia boardgame
- Too Few Lions · v1.18.7
I have enabled notifications, but I receive no notifications when it is my turn in turn-based online multi-player. Google Pixel 9. Latest Android OS.
- Felipe Alvarez · v1.18.7
Looks and plays great
- B. “Taleweaver” V.H. · v1.18.7
It only this game wasn't out of print. This is one of my top 10 board games. No special power advantages, just all out strategy and tactics
- A C · v1.18.7
I bought this to play asynchronously with friends. The game lacks push notifications which makes this option nearly impossible. I regret spending money on the game because the lack of this feature makes it pretty much unusable to me. Be warned!
- Wesley Hamilton (Wosly) · v1.18.7
Good game, crashes if my phone screen turns off
- Sam Shereda · v1.18.7
Great game, well implemented for mobile devices.
- Chris Bowling · v1.18.7
Great board game adapted well. It's still possible to find asynchronous games, but the community is small. My main issue is that the app doesn't ever send push notifications for my turn. Notifications are enabled for it on Android, but there don't seem to be any in-app settings to turn them on. There's no option for email notifications either, which would suffice. This makes keeping up with async games tough.
- Scott · v1.18.7
Excellent game. I'm new to Yellow & Yangtze, and I really enjoy it.
- Peter Sovik · v1.18.7
This game could easily be 5 stars if bugs are fixed. I use pass and play. no ability to choose CPU level. I lost two games to the app freezing on CPU turns and if I close the app and restart, it loses all memory of the game. Very frustrating. No ability to autosave progress. Traders stealing pagoda is buggy, thinking I want peasant riot. It is also difficult upon starting my turn to see what happened. There should be an option to replay or a record of past moves.
- Zachary McKenzie · v1.18.7
Instructions on "War" are poorly written. Confusing at best. Half the time I'm being thrown into war by a NPC with confusion what's going on. Could elaborate more on the losses and mechanics on War. The instruction for it is very incomplete I solved the problem above by reading the official board game rules in pdf. Search for it if you're experiencing the same problem like me. [Despite its shortcoming, the game aged well and I've update the rating to 5 stars to encourage more downloads]
- Denz Choe · v1.18.7
Excellent implementation of the game, and a solid app. Highly recommended.
- Owen Johnson · v1.18.7
The ai is very weak and the online system is not good too
- Amir Barati Nia · v1.18.7
Hard but mentally satisfying
- G Terry · v1.18.7
Deep and clever game! Good multiplayer, great replayability.
- David Mq
Ai cheats. It always seems to have enough grey tiles in hand. Revolt is a useless mechanic because of that.
- Tom Duke · v1.18.6
Excellent strategy. Immersive. Replayable.
- Milidrag Milidrag · v1.18.6
Brilliant game and fantastic implementation. I had never played before and it did a great job of teaching me both the rules and the strategies.
- 13ane · v1.18.6
Great game and well implemented. Please update the app display on Android 12 so that the black dragon fills the entire space - looks kind of off with the white space and hard black edges within it.
- Gregory C. Pyper Jr. · v1.18.6
Great so far!
- Rattenus Rattoonus · v1.18.6
Complex game but truly worth sticking with. The idea of gaining political influence over a map with different leaders instead of just conquering with an army is beautifully done. Pretty hard to beat against the harder AI but I like it a lot
- Peter McDonald · v1.18.6
Really awesome app which also makes learning the rules for the physical version much easier! Difficulty is pretty rough, but I wouldn't want it to be a cakewalk, either. Grab the Dire Wolf Game Room app to make finding other players easier.
- Chris (C) · v1.18.6
A very good boardgame in 'hardware', designed by one of the best star developers of the boardgame world, nicely converted to the mobile platform. Another point in its favour is the fact that the programmers resisted the urge to implement recurring subscription fees or other rip-offs that are the scourge of so many other apps and games for Android. Reiner Knizia is a master of balancing game mechanisms, so if you are up for a challenge that is not based on the AI cheating, you will like Y&Y.
- Karsten Keese · v1.18.6
Great game, Is there a way to see opponents scores ? I feel like not seeing scores hinders one gameplay
- Sameer Sabhrwal-Siddiqi · v1.18.6
Much fun to get
- Justin Welch · v1.18.6
I'm dropping my rating because I'm finding it harder and harder to believe that the computer isn't cheating. For 6 games in a row i initiated a revolt once i had 4 grey guys in my hand. The computer always had exactly the right number to win. In one case I watched it play 5 from it's hand before and it STILL had the 5 it needed to win. This seems to be happening with soldiers as well. The whole experience feels lame. Please give an option for visible hands or at least an end-game log
- Kirby Fling · v1.18.6
Bring back Tigris and Euphrates. Y&Y is a good game but T&E is still one of the best games ever made. I purchased the app a while ago, and the game was pulled from the Play store. I can no longer download the game I paid for. Y&Y is similar but there's some key differences. It's hex based, and pagodas replace temples. Pagodas can be removed, unlike temples in T&E. The tiles work a little differently. There's also a neutral color tile. Online functionality is great. Still wish it was T&E.
- Daniel Phelan · v1.18.6
Reducing a couple stars due to non-resolved issues with multiplayer games. When these get fixed, will glady give this a higher rating.
- How Itzer · v1.18.6
Absolutely phenomenal experience.
- Jeff S · v1.18.6
Has potential. But it crashed twice for me within the first 10 minutes of playing. I'm on a Pixel 3
- Rich Kingsford · v1.18.6
Every time I play this, I become more and more heartbroken knowing that the physical version is out of print for the foreseeable future.
- E P · v1.18.5
Excellent adaptation of the game with a clear and engaging tutorial.
- Matthew Hand · v1.18.5
Burns through battery, but otherwise grand
- Ric Lacy · v1.18.5
Challenging, good looking and quick to play. Really enjoying this version of the boardgame.
- Jonathan · v1.18.5
Fantastic implementation of the game, lots of fun and easy to use.
- Sam Norris · v1.18.5
Quite challenging for me. Excellent game with nice implementation.
- Allan Kamen · v1.18.5
It's fantastic. Great game, great app. Two nitpicks: - AI isn't great. Not surprising though, this game is hard for humans, and good AI would probably take some Google-level machine learning. - Not obvious how to check opponent scores in solo play. Maybe this is intentional, how the board game works? Idk. I played a lot of Tigris+Euphrates and this game is better. I play a lot of Terra Mystica and I wish the game's app were half as good as this. Worth it all the way.
- Andrew Crisp · v1.18.5
It's great. I wish they would redo Tigris and Euphrates the same way. Good game, good app.
- John Weingardt · v1.18.5
My favorite game behind Zertz
- I “Isaac” E · v1.18.5
An excellent redition of the well known board game. The UI is intuitive (though the discard tile option took a moment to find and moving leaders can be fiddly) and the AI plays quickly and reasonably intellegently.
- Alex Crosse · v1.18.1
Very solid and polished adaptation.
- Jason France · v1.18.1
Screen flickers severely stops responding within the very first subject of the tutorial. Unable to play. Useless. Tried rebooting tablet and uninstall/re install 3 times. This not only doesn't happen in other games but has Never happened in the decade or so of playing many, many different games on Android. As this is one of the most expensive games bought, I would advise against buying this expensive and clearly buggy game. Zero stars.
- Michael Dean · v1.18.1
It's a solid game , the developers did a great job with the tutorials. Theme is great, but gameplay feels more like an abstract game.
- Kevin Jo · v1.18.1
A stand-out implementation of an incredible strategy game. There is a learning curve to be found here, but it's well-worth the effort to get into
- Nicholas Maddalena · v1.18.1
With only 500 downloads this has to be the most underrated board game app in the app store. In truth this game is fun, looks great, the rules are well thought out and easy to understand, the AI plays it decently enough and a campaign is available. It is one of the few boardgame apps I keep coming back to for a few more games.
- Richard Koopmanschap · v1.18.1
Really great app overall. Love the campaign. The only minor thing that bugs me is it's sometimes hard to press and hold on the leader you are moving and drag him to another spot. Overall great.
- Conrad Richter · v1.18.1
Great game, terrible app. It should be free until they fix everything for online play. Six months+ since release and still no update to implement easy fixes that would take them 5 minutes. There are so many obvious little fixes they could do to make online play much better. They could also use settings to only allow players with a certain rating to join games...as it is now you will start a game and I assume new players will join then go afk for 3 days. With current state online play is pretty m
- Mike A · v1.18.1
Game is fun, but app needs work. Half the time I get a notification it's my turn, I can't get into the game. It just sits there with spinning hexes for 2 min, then exits without anything happening. Some game interfaces are a little clunky.
- Andrew Vick · v1.18.1
Bit of a learning curve on this one, but once you get it ... it is amazing! Fullscreen and works great on my chromebook. The animation, controls, interface, and gameplay all work great. Just a captivating game once you learn how to play. Very strategic! It is a good mix of civ building, conflict area control, and tile placement. Big fan of Dire Wolf Digital games and this is another great one! Thank you to all who put this game app together. Can't wait to see more digital titles!
