Even on my 2 year old tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab A8) this game has no problem with early battles. Will update when played more. A pity they have split the Barbarian and Alexander expansions when on PC (which were inexpensive add-ons) into cash cow separate games. So you now have to buy a game with 90% same game but with limited troops and battles for another tenner.....no thanks. Main game awesome, others should be in app purchases not separate games. Still 5 stars though

Honestly, I played this game 20 years ago when it first came out on PC. I absolutely love it for mobile. Game play is great, but you need a smart pen for the battles on a phone. It's excellent on a tablet!

Naval battles could be a great thing in this great game

This is a great game, and if you’re thinking of buying it, it’s worth the price, and there’s a reason why it’s still alive after 20 years. Now, for the reason that I wrote this review: naval battles. Actual naval battles where you can control the ships would make this game even greater. Because naval ships are a very important part of this game, since it allows for the quick transport of troops. But, when it comes to battles, you have the AI fight and hope you win. So, naval battles could be great, you could even add the Battle of Salamis in your historical battles. So please consider this request developers.

It’s so hard to get the controls down and it is so complicated to start a war. Also when u do start a war u can barely walk. The first thing I want to say is that this is a great game, but as I’ve been playing it for quite some time, I’ve started to notice some issues with the units—sometimes they don’t move when you give them a command, or they stay in one place when you tell them to move, especially when attacking cities. This causes all of the units to be killed by arrow towers. Please update this game. I really like it.

Keeps crashing

Love the game . Had it on pc back in the day with all the disks and what not . However I’m in the middle of a campaign on my iPhone and each time I hit the same part the game crashes on me it’s happened 4 days in a row I can’t get past it . Unplayable and Deeply Frustrating UI

I fundamentally don’t understand how the developers thought this was ready to publish. They managed to simultaneously add meaningless features that overcomplicate the campaign view while removing QoL improvements found on the original game. Battles are fought less against the AI and more against the unpredictable and devious machinations of the UI. Sometimes clicking selects the unit, sometimes it deselects, sometimes it moves the unit. I am convinced the UI was built as a torture device for the CIA.

Needs Rome Total Realism

It's hard to enjoy the game when half of the Roman army is composed of randomly organized crowds of Rottweilers and handlers dressed like Hollywood legionaries. The Game desperately needs the changes done by Rome Total Realism modification as an option.

Difficult setting troop in line.

I’ve updated RTW but haven’t played since that update but now I’ve played, Setting troops in line is difficult. I try to set them in a good defensive straight line to maximize the defense, but the stupid finger thing is off and is setting my line more to the right from where my finger is?
