Its Rome Total War, thats all you need to know. The battle UI can be a bit fiddly, easy work around is to pause the battle while you coordinate units. otherwise, great play!

Great idea, terrible execution. Positives: runs smooth, loads quick and looks as good as it did on PC Negatives: infuriatingly terrible controls (no I don't want to set a rally point dammit. drawing out formations they randomly spin round or jump location), military units can no longer force move diplomats/agents. If you close mid battle it will offer to let you resume when you reopen the app (cool idea) but you'll find your general dead and half the enemy respawned.

The best strategy game ever with nuance, strategy and a whole world for any kind of roleplay. Seleucid battles don't have the development phase, some important troops mode like fire at will etc don't work at all. Battles are generally quite hard to manage so I mostly play with armies able to instant win on auto resolve.

total war is a great franchise and this is a great port of the original game. I can only give it 3 stars as it doesn't run on any of my tablets, but where I'd like to play it on a bigger screen with Bluetooth mouse and keyboard for a more true to the original experience

Even on my 2 year old tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab A8) this game has no problem with early battles. Will update when played more. A pity they have split the Barbarian and Alexander expansions when on PC (which were inexpensive add-ons) into cash cow separate games. So you now have to buy a game with 90% same game but with limited troops and battles for another tenner.....no thanks. Main game awesome, others should be in app purchases not separate games. Still 5 stars though

Honestly, I played this game 20 years ago when it first came out on PC. I absolutely love it for mobile. Game play is great, but you need a smart pen for the battles on a phone. It's excellent on a tablet!

Naval battles could be a great thing in this great game

This is a great game, and if you’re thinking of buying it, it’s worth the price, and there’s a reason why it’s still alive after 20 years. Now, for the reason that I wrote this review: naval battles. Actual naval battles where you can control the ships would make this game even greater. Because naval ships are a very important part of this game, since it allows for the quick transport of troops. But, when it comes to battles, you have the AI fight and hope you win. So, naval battles could be great, you could even add the Battle of Salamis in your historical battles. So please consider this request developers.
