Shotgun King

Very fun, well made game that executes well on the base concept. my only complaint is that there's no way to save progress on a run, and the game resets if you don't play for long enough. with save files it would be an easy 5 stars.

The game is pretty fun, but it has some issues, mainly with the mobile experience: - text font and color can be hard to read on a phone screen - run cannot be saved (as far as I can see). For me, for a phone rogue-lite this is a deal breaker. I play the game while waiting or on small downtime between activities, but losing all progress of a run because I couldn't play without a break makes me want to play something else instead

If you choose not to sign into a google account to play then the game will send you to a "failed to log in to google account" screen with only one button to try again to log in, I don't like being strongarmed into logging in to an account I dont want to use, and there appears to be no other way to make the game run

Shotgun King is a solid game with simple mechanics that grow complex when stacked and allows for all sorts of strange builds. While certain things aren't explained in full, it's a roguelike, so you're expected to learn through runs One star down because it doesn't autosave after every complete level, and sometimes just restarts if you go to another app, which is kind of annoying when I'm playing at the bus stop, swap to my transit app, and come back to see my progress all gone.

I bought this thinking it could be a really fun spin on chess. It's not. Chess is really just a thematic backdrop to a game about studying and understanding a massive array of random power ups and how they will affect you. Most power ups just make things more complicated to track so you have to go more and more slowly. I also absolutely will not get over the fact that the opposing king is allowed to put you in check; just makes no sense if you play chess and removes a lot of strategic interest.

i absolutely love this game being on mobile like this and have always loved shotgun king the only thing I dislike is the aiming I would prefer a setting where you aim directly from the king instead of the stick type aiming that's it's just how I would enjoy it more through a setting and I hate having to reset every time I have to do anything else so it's down another star would be five stars if those things were changed

I love this game so much on my ps5 and was BEGGING for it to be ported to mobile! finally got my wish 😀 the controls work well and the game is just so addictive, I can't put it down and I'm playing it even more than before on PS.

Great game but like others have said, the inability to save progress mid-run makes it unplayable. If you switch to another app, you have to start the run over. Literally the only thing that takes this from 5 stars to 1.

this game is genuinely painful experience, there are so few white cards that add pawns, filling the back row with minor and major peices with no pawns to keep them from swarming you in the opening. there are so few black cards that are actually good, and very VERY little synergy between the cards (unless blessed by RNG). and maybe worst of all, the amount of content doesn't justify the price... I have never refunded in my life but there's a first time for everything I guess

what a great game. I love it. very well balanced and keeps you coming back for more. 1 star less because there's no save feature which is crucial on mobile so if I play, it has to be a complete game or else I lose all my progress. that is absolutely crucial for any mobile game edit: downgraded to 2 stars because I got a call and lost my progress at round 9
