I presume it's reasonably faithful to the original books, but this one feels way less fair than the first. And there should be an option to just move on to the next game when you get to the North Gate without being guilt tripped.
- Angus Gillott · v1.6b6
despite being annoying to find all the spell lines, this is an amazing game with such great replayability!!
- Lee M · v1.6b6
Solved my gripes with the first game regarding the short playtime and introduced a super fun dice game in swindlestones which I got addicted to. I love gambling!!
- Nikhil _
I gave a horse depression and walked on my knees amongst dwarves. What a game.
- Sarah Henley · v1.6b6
I was enjoying this game and would rate higher except for the annoying glitch that you are only allowed one rewind. This often means you get stuck in a doomed pattern since one rewind is not enough to get you out of most fatal situations. This means I have had to restart 6 times now and it is very annoying! More rewinds would greatly improve
- Gillian Marshall · v1.6b6
Confusing and just replay the same thing trying to figure out stupid choices
- Niko Howe · v1.6b6
they don't make stuff like this anymore it's the goat

- Keane Kim · v1.6a5
this one is hard. went through and messed up horribly. gonna have to try again. but damn is it incredible.
- Gabriel de Vore · v1.6a5
Man, as far as text games go, this is top-notch. If you ever read a "choose your adventure" book, this is for you. I will most definitely be playing 3 and 4 just to see where this goes. Definitely worth the price tag.
- Daniel Wheeler · v1.6a5
I get what they are trying to do. It doesn't work for me.
- James
Great game
- Rob Wall · v1.6a5
WOW!!! So much more to do & experience than the 1st. The secondary (mini) maps are a great addition. The seemingly infinite options that change with each play keeps the game feeling fresh & with new surprises around every corner & option u choose. An amazing 👏 game that deserves every acknowledgement & download it gets. A choose your own adventure style read with MORE choices, MORE replay, MORE excitement! Game play includes strategy & puzzles that will keep u guessing & wanting more!!!!!
- Dria · v1.6a5
The story is just hilarious. How you interact with spells is so amazing!
- Ulia Rizki Maulana (Uli) · v1.6a5
After sorcery, this is the best sequel we can expect. The story is gripping, and our choices does really matter.
- Dr Yaseen Habeeb · v1.6a2
Crashes on game start when you import a cloud save, rendering the entire point of the series moot.
- David Burns · v1.6a2
Fantastic
- Kevin Yang · v1.6a2
This is as linear as it gets, you have zero choice of direction just like the first one. Still very bland, no actual character stats, gear, lvls, xp or skills. The magic aspect is a joke. This game is so overpriced its unreal. Loading your game from Sorcery 1 doesnt even work. Your only option is the cloud save game name thing which is retarded. The game even has grammer errors and its like 6 bucks a chapter with four chapters. Im guessing its about 4 hours total. Chapter 1 was an hour.
- Ronald Andersen · v1.6a2
the text color for swindlestone on the ipad is bugged out where it’s white and you can barely read it. amazing game otherwise but i hope this will get fixed at some point!
- metaldispenser · v1.3.3
One of the best games I've ever played. I loved the first one, I loved the second one, and I'm probably going to love the third one.
- Ethan Buxton · v1.6a2
Best Choose your own adventure game on Android so far. I love every version of Sorcery.
- Chi Phan · v1.6a2
Perfect mobile adaptation of the classic Gamebooks from Steve Jackson (for the uninformed). I used to read tons of Gamebooks as a teenagers. Sorcery and Lone Wolf from Joe Dever were my favourite series. The Inkle adaptation of Sorcery is absolutely brilliant, kudos to the team! "La città dei misteri" is the second best entry in the series. Exploring the mysteries of Khare is a challenging and yet rewarding experience 😉
- Luca Rossi
Sorcery! was great. This is AMAZING. So many options what to do, what to cast, what to say, where to go... And while I've finally finished all four Sorcery! games, this one will always have a special place in my heart.
- Jan · v1.1.3p1
Fantastic game with a great flow. Much longer than part one, with plenty of interesting characters. Great mystery to solve and lots of items and secrets to uncover. If you like interactive fiction this is probably one of the best there is
- Adam Evans · v1.6a2
When I tap my character to continue my story from part 1, the game automatically closes and won't let let me continue, which is unfortunate since I really liked the first part.
- Ashlea Head · v1.6a2
This is a very unique and interesting game, at $6 its a steal for times like a long flight.
- Ted Crandall · v1.6a2
Good game.
- Ritika Baskey · v1.6a2
Doesn't port over previous progress like it promised
- S Peterman
Really enjoyable game! I've only played a few games of this type but this one isy favorite by far. Great story, interesting puzzles and challenges, and it looks and sounds great. I do wish it was easier to look up the spells, but it's not too bad.
- john de cristofaro · v1.6a2
Right from the start, it seems like d&d From the books but modernized. Nicely done except. The spell book. I don't have good eyes I can't read it the text is tiny. Most rpg use horizontal screen. I have to tilt the screen vertical and with thick reading glasses To read it hardly. I have to be able to read spells Not only a little but well to play. The text in the main game is fine. The game doesn't work vertical upside down. But my phone holder Obstructs the charging cord. Can't play
- Notur Business · v1.6a2
For more captivating than I expected, all around enjoyable experience reminiscent of a good D&D game.

Love this game so much!! I have it on PC but decided to buy it on mobile too so I can play during my commute (where I don't always have access to data/wifi).
- Jessica Mora
App doesn't load my progress and instead crashes. Android then tells me the app has a bug and to clear the cache. I do so, and all my progress from the previous game is wiped. Shameful.
- Oblivion Yohen
While the game itself is overall enjoyable, there are a few issues that could be easily resolved. It's a text-based game, after all. It's not exactly complicated code. You're just dealing with strings. Unfortunately, the developer seems to have no interest in updating the game at this point, and if you look through other reviews, they don't even respond to their paid customers. It's really unfortunate because Inkle really has something great here. It's just sad it feels like it's still in beta.
- Matt Sitch · v1.4a1
I can’t stand this game. I’m stuck with the old man in prison. Why is the old man so good at this. He doesn’t guess wrong. Also the text color is almost the same as the paper color. So I can’t even read wth the game is trying to tell me Weird mini game i hate it Why can’t I cast dum on the old man in prison? And just beat him a few times and move on?
- Leroy-Jekins · v1.3.3
Great game

I am a magick fan and strategy lover. Not to mention when you give me a game that is good and well made. It will be an instant legend and always be played. More than likely you could play this game ten times over and not see the same thing twice. It’s a very thought immersing, sophisticated, well put together and designed strategy game. The story, characters, lore, the items even are memorable, and the places you have traveled definitely will give you either fond memories or bad memories. Those memories and feelings can change quickly for one event that was previously not explored, or even a spell, or a different conversation can and will result in different reactions. I have so far, gotten through Sorcery One and half through Sorcery two, I did try Sorcery three and stopped to finish the second. I can’t wait to finish them all and play again. You do not need thought provoking applications or memories and brain enhancing apps. Strategy, euphoria, thinking five, six and sometimes well ahead, while being mindful to a common person and just as cautious with what appears benign, but being open to take risks progress you in so many facets and ways in your mind and the game. It is in many senses, almost a game that can be utilized as a very seldom life experience for real life. Always be careful in all situations but live your life and have fun always while listening to all your senses and feelings. Your mind is the present, logic, and memories or reason. Your heart is what guides you and the present moment to always be aware of and follow. Your gut is instinct and the future. Always remember that and it will be understood in time to know if your heart and mind are being tricked by something you can’t see if your gut is telling you no. Or if your gut says yes and your heart is weary is only telling you to proceed guarded but with courage. Always rationalize and never listen to anything but your internal voice. If it doesn’t feel right. It’s not. I guess I’ve been playing this game too much. Well. Back to it. Thank you!!!!
- SoulTechnician · v1.3.3
Game is great. Or Better to say, story is. Not updated for newer devices. No iCloud backup sync support. Can’t play between devices.
- bojanknezevic · v1.3.2
Based on the great reviews I read, I was really excited to play this game. However, after about 5 hours of playing, I’m perplexed why people rate this game so highly. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to the consequences of your actions (sometimes you make a seemingly logical choice and you die; others times you pick something whimsical and get rewarded with treasure). The spell book mechanics are awkward, forcing you to flip back and forth between menus to try to figure out which spell might help in a given situation. And the storyline is a bit too linear for my taste, not allowing you to go back and explore areas you have previously been too. Thank god I bought this game a couple years after it’s release, so I only wasted $5 on it. Avoid at all costs.
- albinowookie2 · v1.3.2
In the first installment, I felt as though I was really choosing my own adventure — there were so many things I knew I was missing as I blundered my way through which really made the game feel magical and unique, and made me want to replay it to see what I’d missed. In this one, you have to wander aimlessly through a city, covering every inching and getting thrown backwards or killed at any “wrong” step. You’re forced to collect 4 spell lines, ensuring that you experience the exact same things every time. I felt as though I was being railroaded by a storyteller who insisted on me playing through one particular story. What’s the point of a “choose your adventure” that forces you to choose the one right path?
- Joe Spiff · v1.3.2
I went over the four apps in my review of the first book, I’ll just add a few things. Again Inkle has enhanced an old, classic gamebook and created a fantastic game. This second volume is far superior to the first one—it takes a long time to understand what’s going on, to gather all the clues that you need to succeed, although it is also the continuation of the previous volume. It can seem sometimes it will be difficult to finish it but it is never impossible, and the rich universe that lies behind the story is full of mysteries and twists and keeps you involved. A must-have.
- thelolofromla · v1.3.2
I thought the first chapter was kind of short (finished in a day), but this one kept me entertained for at least a week. There's a specific objective in this one which is more challenging than the straight-forward journey of the first chapter, and this one also introduces a neat mini game that will keep you occupied for a while
- J121j · v1.3.2
One of the few mobile adventure games I've played and couldn't put down. Rich lore, strong writing, and some smart elements of game design make for one amazing ride. Highly recommended.
- csaunders4z · v1.3.2
I'd like more dungeon crawling treasure hunting stories after these 4 games
- ampdavid · v1.3.2
I love that they give you the choice to continue the story or end it at the end.
- Daddyo73 · v1.3.2
Sorcery 1, 3, and 4 are all great and enjoyable games and stories but this has got to be the worst of them. It's just plain bad. It punishes any form of exploration and wastes your time over and over again.
- SpartanJ34 · v1.3.2
This is my first game of the Sorcery series and it was brilliant, creative, and addicting. Going to download the first now, and then all of them.
- TR4G1k · v1.3.2
It's the best game ever especially the gambling building and I know a way to never lose any tokens all you have to do is rewind a little bit whenever you lose and you never even lost! I would recommend this game to anyone.
- ALMS28 · v1.3.2

- 111792059 · v1.3.2

- maladii · v1.3.2
I don't usually do reviews, however, this story is by far the best game driven read out there! For a phone anyways!!
- Grfteed · v1.3.2
Didn't sign up for going through the game six times to find all the spell lines.
- Singing Slayer · v1.3.1
Short, shallow, repetitive.
- NumbNoggin · v1.2.1

- Hunter K. Qwerty · v1.2.1
This is a really fun game. It is the more the urn version of a choose your own adventure book that also has a fighting system. It's well written and has beautiful art. I also founded it to be very interactive. This second game in the trilogy is way longer than the first one. It has good replayability value and is more fun. If you like choose your own adventure games I highly recommend it.
- Ta0star213 · v1.2.1
I don't understand how this can have any reviews below 5 stars, the Sorcery! trilogy is a masterpiece! Worth every penny and then some!
- Xclbr1 · v1.2.1
This game is so bad, I paid for Wi-Fi access on my flight just to write this review... Total piece of garbage. Text based adventure from 1985 where the "choices" make no difference- you lose your food, lose your health and die. Animation and graphics look like South Park circa 1998. The magic system is so obtuse, you have to call up this inventory to try and figure out the three digit code for the spell (more like a password)- except you can't cast spells because this little Elf tags along with you and prevents you from casting spells (what a great idea!). Steve Jackson made some OK games back in the 80's but they were always uninspired grinds, good to see that nothing's changed. I bought the adventure pack, played through part of the first Sorcery!, deleted it, and deleted Sorcery! 2 without even trying it. It's games like this that remind me why the Freemium model exists.
- Saruman_the_White · v1.2.1
... it does. This game is an example of how apps should be made. Absolutely beautiful. Captivating. And to top it off, this game has a great deal more replay value than the first game in the series. Well done.
- Fourier7 · v1.2.1
As a long time lover of both exploring puzzle adventures (i.e. Myst, Riven, The Room, Drawn: the Painted Tower) and Interactive Fiction (IF) (Infocom's Zork and the Frotz' IF engine), I have struggled to find worthy contenders that have made the transition to the mobile app store (feel free to make suggestions!). Inkle has done an excellent job bringing Jackson's Fighting Fantasy books to the new millennium and the mobile app store. Sorcery 2 is even more immersive and 'classic IF' than it's predecessor, placing you in a more non-linear environment that requires you to wander around much more to solve the puzzles and reach your objectives. The many sub plots and side stories (which culminate in a climactic twistable ending) contribute to a greater immersive experience and preserves the feel and culture of IF but makes it fresh and vibrant once again. If you love any of the games I've mentioned above, then you won't be disappointed with Inkle's work with Steve Jackson's Sorcery 2 (or 1 or 3 for that matter)

I love this game but when is part 3 coming out?
- Bob Of Doom · v1.1.4
I rarely find a game that won't lose my interest after playing it for a little while. However, when I played this game I played it non-stop until I completed it (both chapters). Even my little sister who has never been too great at reading and has always completely hated it has been playing this so much that she probably has no clue how much she's read. Even the art was spectacular from the map to the accession all picture hidden through the story giving a view of what your character was seeing. It was wonderful to see what was described in the story on the map. This is one of my absolute favorite apps and I can not see a time when it will ever leave my home screen. I am anxiously waiting for the next chapter of the story to be released.
- Ahiru Elric · v1.1.4
If you like a good story it's the game for you
- Gonna get sued much · v1.1.4
It continues from where the first part stopped, and it keeps being interesting and fun from start to finish. Inkle got themselves a diehard fan with this series. Really looking forward to episode 3!
- ShinGlacier · v1.1.4
This was fantastically fun and a great sequel to the first game. They are building on a solid dynamic and I can't wait for the next installment.
- blainechorton · v1.1.4

- CAW139 · v1.1.4
This game absolutely surpassed by expectations, it was by far one of the best games I have ever played. Worth every dollar.
- Awesome12384995 · v1.1.4
I have played the first game 4 times and gotten many different endings as we'll as doing 4 play troughs of number 2 when three comes out I will buy it no matter what. I'm interested in the bird men they alluded to in the first game and what kinds of amazing art they will make
- Why know my name · v1.1.4
I played the first game and was so happy to find a game with the combonation of turn based combat, choose your own adventure, and puzzle solving i also love the spell-system how you have to write a 3 letter combo/word/abrivation. I beat the first in 2 days and searched for all the clues in this one however i still gave up and let lorag curse me, what i want to see in the next game is a way to possibly win over Lorag and have him either leave you or assist you cant wait for part 3 hope you make it soon.
- Zzmann10 · v1.1.4
I can count off games of this quality made for mobile devices on one hand. This one does not wow for the graphics. The story is fascinating though. It took me two days of solid playing just to find all the clues. I know I missed loot and such I could have gotten. A word to the hesitant: buy the first one first. It is shorter, but it's important. And several days later I'm still playing. For those that are startled by the price there is no advertisements. No nag to review and no in app purchases.
- athralsatar · v1.1.4
When is part 3 coming out. It says it comes out April 2014 but nothing yet. Post the release date in the descriptions. Both parts have Ben great and I need more!
- Drilling 27 · v1.1.4
The original Sorcery! Was pretty short, so I was disappointed that I had already bought both games at the same time, but since my progress from the original was saved, I started to play this game. Boy, was I glad I did. This game is about 5 times longer, and really engaging. It also has way more items and spell usage opportunities than the first chapter. I seriously cannot recommend this sequel enough.
- michaelp1704 · v1.1.4
Find myself sneaking off at work to start a new journey I like part one better but both are worth it
- fortylicks · v1.1.4
I can't believe how much mileage I got out of this game. I played the first Sorcery three different times and loved each adventure, but my first playthrough of Sorcery 2 was way longer than all three of the original playthroughs combined. I could probably play this game three more times and still not see all the content. Thank you Sorcery team!
- TheShrewKing · v1.1.4
I've played this through a few times, and still love it each time. I think I finally made my perfect run, and can't wait until sorcery 3 comes out!
