Spiritfarer is one of those games thatâs hard to explain because the gameplay isnât really what made it special to me. Yes, thereâs exploring, collecting, building, cooking, fishing, farming, and plenty of things to keep you busy. And I enjoyed all of that. But itâs the feeling of this game that got me. You meet these spirits, bring them onto your boat, learn who they are, take care of them, listen to their stories, and slowly become attached to them. Some of them made me laugh. Some frustrated me. Some broke my heart. I actually teared up a couple of times while playing, but the ending really got me. And then the credits rolled, and somehow even those made me emotional. Wow. I went into this expecting a cute little game about a girl and her boat. I came out of it feeling like Iâd experienced something about love, loss, memory, caring for people, and learning to let go. I donât know if Iâll ever find another game that makes me feel the way Spiritfarer did. Thank you, Thunder Lotus, for making something so beautiful. â¤ď¸

Loved this game so much, wish I could play it for the first time once more. The crashing once you are further into the game is frustrating though.

This game shaped me as a person. Itâs beautiful and heartbreaking, and completely changed my view on the complexity of my own mortality.
- Localgayperson ¡ v1.5.8
Incredible game, beautiful story, wonderful characters. Albeit itâs not as pretty on iOS but itâs impossible to capture its beauty on a tiny device. I have played this on PS and Switch many times and I always come back to it.
- Jeeeeeeeeeeeeej ¡ v1.5.8
For a long time Iâve been trying to look for the perfect game and I believe that Iâve finally found it. If you want to find a game that will make you cry (in the good way) then you should try Spiritfarer out. I love how you can pretty much go at your own pace and the visuals are absolutely stunning paired with the music. I sob hysterically when I have to say goodbye to a spirit, even when it was Giovanniâs time. This game will always be in my heart â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸
- MADI!!!!!!! ¡ v1.5.8
This game is lovely, truly. The platforming mechanics are a game breaker in the iPad version. There is a point early game that requires a mechanic to progress (reaching a high ladder at a museum) that simply doesnât work. Same is true for another mechanic (fishing tuna). Itâs another lovely game that just isnât optimized for iPads. Itâs a disappointment to leave it behind, but I was a little obsessed, so maybe itâs a good thing. lol.
- soithgoes ¡ v1.5.8
I was surprised at how many low review there were- played this game on iOS with my sister and literally couldnât stop playing it- hard enough to keep you engaged without being impossible. Storyline was lots of fun 10/10 only regret is I canât play it for the first time again
- taliaswag ¡ v1.5.8
This game is excellent! I love the mechanics and the characters are really endearing! One thing: the graphics suck! To make them better, pause the game, hit options, select video, and then select video texture quality to high. It makes the graphics so much clearer! Overall, great game. :)

Loved this game so much. Cried so many times playing it! Great story line, had fun navigating the map. The characters were all stellar.

I am loving this game, but I find it hard to use the controls on a touch screen.
- Fj450123 ¡ v1.5.8
This is a very heartwarming game and I thoroughly enjoyed my time in it. Storyline is amazing and I enjoyed the game mechanics. You have a bit of farming and crafting. You also get to customize where building/rooms/cabins go. Itâs really everything you can ask for in a cozy game! I had no performance issues but was playing on an iPad Pro 13â 4th generation and with an Xbox controller. Everything was smooth and perfect!
- CuriouslyMe ¡ v1.5.8
Love this game, however there are a lot of bugs and glitches. Itâs also possible to soft lock yourself if your bit directly following the games plot line.

For me personally the game play was over all fine and I adjusted the resolution for better quality. This is a BEAUTIFUL game in art, OST and storyline. I just finished it and ran here to report that I 100% recommend.
- citruscone ¡ v1.5.8
Story wise Iâd have given this 5 stars, but sadly the game play is AWFUL. I will stop moving to either side when Iâm in the air and will instead just slowly descend. No real hard direction until you find the quests area. Zip lining is literally so bad its haunting my dreams, itâs even worse when there are areas with CONSTANT zip lining and no safe areas. Meaning if you mess up the multiple zip lines once youâre BACK TO THE BEGINNING. I wish zip lining was its own button and that you didnât instantly fly off. The game has been out for so long that I highly doubt any of my complaints will be taken to heart so I have to rank this so low.
- Belladonna37 ¡ v1.5.8
I feel as thought the developer put too much effort into the character design and the art in general and not enough time into the actual gameplay. At least on the phone version. Gameplay is awkward and clunky. There is a wonderful idea here but it needs more fine tuning. Plus the art has the most effort put into it , yet on the phone the graphics quality is very poor. This could be a wonderful game , dialogue has made me cry from the feels, but there is a lot more that can be done though to make gameplay more pleasurable.
- AngieRoseRawe ¡ v1.5.8
More of a really big RPG, CRPG, RTS, Action, Shooter, and adventure/fantasy/sci-fi gamer of the cyberpunk, Baldurâs gate, pathfinder, and God of War persuasion⌠but I really have enjoyed my time with this game. And I donât think they could have come up with a better tagline than, âlearn how to say goodbyeâ. When I first picked up the game, I was working my normal full time job and playing it on breaks and downtime when I was at home. On my off days, I was going to my grandmotherâs house and staying with her because she was 91 to 93 and had been diagnosed with colon cancer. My mom had to take a leave of absence from her job to take care of her, and I was doing whatever I could to give her a break on any off days I had from my career. Itâs hard to put into words any particular scene, story arc, mission, or character that meant something special to me. But the recurring theme of, look at these oft-times elderly or older people, look at the beautiful memories and experiences they had in life, look at the people they invested in, took care of, took a particular interest in, or loved with all their heart. And now watch as those people take the final journey to an afterlife that is just as mysterious and potentially adventurous as it is scary⌠There was a lot in this game, as silly as that may sound, that helped me deal with what I was dealing with. And while nothing ultimately could have ever prepared me for the moment my Mima left me behind for greener pastures and more beautiful sunsets, I do think that being familiar with the concepts and being reminded of all the beautiful experiences a person can have in their life, and just being reminded of how often I was a part of someoneâs beautiful life experiences, that helped a lot. On September 27th 2023 a freight train blew apart my heart from the inside out. As I held the hand of the woman who first held mine when I took my first breaths, she took her last. And I havenât been the same since then. TL:DR Itâs a fantastic game and has themes such as death and dying, and the loved ones and friends that depart us along the way sometimes much too soon. And it incorporates some RPG and light âfarmingâ mechanics. Always remains whimsical.
- Csymtyr ¡ v1.5.8
The whole games functionality has glitches!!!! The character functions and building functions are horrible to navigate. Thereâs some challenges that are not accessible for people who are visually impaired.
- T_Panduh ¡ v1.5.8
This game is definitely one of my favorites because of the many things you can do! First, the adventure in this game is so much fun, having to travel by boat to all these little islands in order to fulfill requests from the spirits. Another thing, the storyline is something that gets you really hooked, and even feeling the special bonds between Stella and the spirits is very heartwarming. This game is also super relaxing, especially when just exploring different islands and towns, or just doing basic tasks on your boat (like fishing, farming, etc.) The art and scenery is also a great touch that just makes it beautiful all together. Spiritfarer is definitely a great game for people who love adventure, exploration and just want something they can relax and enjoy.
- BlueyedRose ¡ v1.5.8
Love it. I love how they you ride the bus to get to the next bus station more close to the area you want to be since the boat is so slow. & to wait for the crops you have to play the music to speed up the time duration of harvest. So amazing.

I cried. Not once, but about every time I had to say goodbye to someone. The plot, characters, and gameplay are all amazing. The only issue I had was with the mobile quality, but that didn't affect anything. I would highly recommend this to anybody above the age of twelve. Thunder Lotus please heighten the graphics??

I LOVE this game so much but, as i progressed further into the game it started to get more glitchy like the game crashing and i would have to restart what I did in a in-game day. Eventually the sound stopped working and I reset my device about four times thing it would help, but nothing worked so i just came to the conclusion that deleting it and reinstalling it would be the solution because my account is hooked up with Netflix and it would save everything right? WRONG. When i reinstalled the app and logged in everything was gone, I bawled my eyes out for a long time knowing it would take SO long to get my progress back. I recommend this on another platform like Xbox or Nintendo or whatever else works. This game is super beautiful, and the sound design is amazing. (ironic right) The story is so gorgeous it could make you shed a tear, and the adventures are endless and exciting. I Just wish it wasnât as glitchy though, the gameplay would be 100% better. :(
- moonbuggss ¡ v1.5.8
I love this game. Spiritfarer is full of amazing characters, such a great storyline, and beautiful art and music. This game has made me cry, laugh out loud, and Iâve spent a total of 40 hours completing it. Itâs entertaining, engaging, and relaxing. Thereâs amazing yet challenging mini games, side quests, and so much to do. This game follows a character called Stella (you) and her pet cat Daffodil. Stella has to take on the role of the Spiritfarer, finding spirits, doing their tasks, building them homes, making sure that theyâre content. And after each spirit is happy, Stella rows them to a special door that allows them to almost transcend and find a place in the stars. You can see each constellation of the characters throughout the game. The spirits are found all around an amazing map with their own backstories that all fall into place once you finish the game. Each spirit is an animal and they have their own tasks and errands they need you to do. Each one is so fond of Stella and itâs just such a lovely game. You really get to know the characters well, and at the end, I found myself missing them and wishing Stella couldâve had more time with them. I developed favorite spirits and honestly hated some of them. But, I loved the game nonetheless. Truly, this game is amazing. Itâs probably my favorite ever, (besides childhood classics like Minecraft or Animal Jam). I recommend this game!!

I couldnât for the life of me get to different places I needed to be to progress the story, and itâs all because the mobile version of this game wonât allow me to jump. Turning off the free floating joystick helped but didnât solve the problem.
- _.Akumu._ ¡ v1.5.8
This game was so beautiful. Had me sobbing, in a good way. I never thought Iâd get so emotional about a mobile game. Seems like those who had technical difficulties were used to the switch version but as someone who has only played it on iPhone it worked great!
- rosevector ¡ v1.5.8
What a stupid game.
- DeeG1110 ¡ v1.5.8
The character graphics look pixelated and it ruins their look. Also this game should have cloud save; what Netflix sells on is not just the games themselves but also account based cloud save and multiplayer features.
- Tnynfox ¡ v1.5.8
I love the game but there is one little problem, the quality. I have played the game before on a computer but on my mobile device the quality is noticeably different. And to address this concern I would ask thunder lotus to try and increase the quality so at least I can see the characterâs faces normal. Please fix this.

This is in my top 5 games of all time BUT that was on the Xbox. Unfortunately on IOS with the Netflix download it is full of bugs. đ It lost progress very early on when I got the ability to double jump then lost it and couldnât figure out what was wrong. Also, there is zero sound and Iâve tried everything in app settings and in my phone. The music is one of the best parts of this game so without any sound at all itâs really lacking a core cozy factor that made me love this game in the first place on Xbox.
- LynnieWinnie13 ¡ v1.5.4
I love almost everything about this game, but the fact that I canât progress anymore just because my double jump wonât let her go on the ladder into the museum! WHY?! ive seen on the computer version it works just fine, but on the iPad Iâm stuck, and it doesnât look like theyâll ever fix it which Iâm disappointed in cause now I donât know how Iâll finish the game⌠CAN SOMEONE PLEASE FIX THE JUMP BY SUSANS MUSEUM!? It is almost IMPOSSIBLE TO GET ON THE LADDERR!!!
- Wendall5555555 ¡ v1.5.4
I donât think Iâve ever written a review for a mobile game before, but I just finished 100% of this game, every single aspect I could find, and then immediately came to write this to share just how much I love this masterpiece. I enjoy many games on pc, console and mobile and didnât think anything could surpass my love of Stardew Valley, but Spiritfarer took my heart and ran a marathon on the other side of the country with it. First Iâd like to mention I was surprised to see reviews about issues with bugs. As of July 2024 they either have fixed those bugs, or Iâm just lucky to be on a good enough iPhone maybe. Either way, I didnât have any substantial issues in gameplay or visuals. Iâm glad there was a free version on here for me to try, but now that Iâve played it I would confidently say itâs worth buying on steam, especially when it goes on sale. It was clear throughout the 50+ hours that I played that no part of this game sacrificed quality for another aspect. Everything was incredibly well balanced and every experience blew me away. The visuals were dynamic and gorgeous. The music was emotional, and guided you through the story with each distinct character you meet. The language was so intentionally well thought, which creates room for introspection and even growth and change as the story progresses. You can tell just how hard every person on this team worked to create something they felt passionately about. I donât think that is any easy thing to do when the main theme is death. However, the plot was executed perfectly, in a way that starts slow and eases you into a curious and fun world to explore before diving into some major truths of humanity. The plot twists are gut wrenching, but the love your character, Stella, spreads feels palpable. Itâs a bumpy ride filled with every kind of interaction you could think of, composed of colorful characters and diverse atmospheres. Zany challenges will keep you busy as you traverse across a world familiar to Stella, and help spirits that arenât quite ready to cross over into the afterlife. Not everything is exactly what it seems, but over time pieces of the puzzle will come together to make more sense. Itâs truly a unique position to be in, to be a caregiver for someone at the end of their life. In past healthcare jobs Iâve worked closely with many people, and a lot changes when you know you donât have much time left. Everyone reacts differently. In almost every character I came across here, it would remind me of someone I met in my life. It reminded me of their struggles, of how they impacted my life and my perception of the lives around me. Perhaps I have a unique perspective that helps me to resonate with these characters, but Iâd like to think almost anyone could learn from them. Learn empathy and patience, compassion and unconditional love. I probably didnât need to write a whole novel on this, but all this fluff to say, that the devs did beautiful work here, itâs a meaningful game filled to the brim with creativity. It has quite a lot of content- some easy, some challenging. I enjoyed every minute of it.
- mcmadilynn ¡ v1.5.4
So I love these type of story telling and odd type of games. And I love this concept and so far itâs a decent game. ButâŚit has a few things so far that Iâm not a fan of. 1. The time it takes to travel from different islands is a bit tedious. 2. I am a tad confused on the stormy areas, it said that I needed to upgrade my boat to travel through the storms but I didnât have to upgrade to do that. 3. The song to the plants to help them grow is slightly off beat. Just enough for me to mess up the entire thing or maybe the mark of when you hit the arrows is off. But something about it is off. My husband is an audiophile and it irritates him to no end. And me as well. 4. The game is slow moving which is alright itâs very relaxing to play. But I thought I had to help these spirits fullfill their last wishes. But so far that part of the game hasnât happened. Itâs all spirits that Stella must of known during life. And Iâm unsure if these are just support characters or the spirits. it seems like they are both, but Iâve been playing for four days here and there in my free time and nothing yet about any last wishes or requests. So I am wondering if the storyline is flawed. 5. The collecting of resources isnât nearly as plentiful as I feel the game could be, there could be fields where I could collect crops and plants. And thereâs only ever 1 stone to hack at. 6. Iâm unsure what items to sell to the merchant because Iâm not sure if those shells or anything else will be useful or not. I think thereâs a lack of organization in that manner. 7. The world itself is very small, the islands are very lack luster, the houses are all the same and the mechanics are all the same, âladders going up and downâ and maybe a Overall the concept seems really great, but so far thereâs little to be desired. I think thereâs missed opportunityâs for things and items to collect or their uses and places to adventure to.
- FM-INDY93 ¡ v1.5.4
Is there a glitch happening? Iâm missing the move button. I can only jump
- samzimgir666 ¡ v1.5.4
I was enjoying the game as an easygoing sort of adventure, but the occasional odd combination of dash jump glide with such a rudimentary control system I found way too stressful and at odds with the tone of rest of the game. I ended up deleting it because I was just trying to play something relaxing and not deal with all that.
- Wtfthisisdumbaf ¡ v1.5.4
I loved this game and then deleted it because I had to switch iPods and I forgot about it so I forgot to download it again and now it is not accessible
- luckyasiamaaaaaa ¡ v1.5.4
This is an enchanting game and plenty of fun traveling to all kinds of interesting places. The music score is delightful. The graphics are amazing. But, the amount of platforming really sucked the joy right out of it for me. It gets increasingly harder especially at the everdoor. Iâm 60% through but not going to continue.

- DIEGOTOO ¡ v1.5.4
I enjoy this game but man is it glitchy. I thought I was just stuck at a certain part and needed to learn more advanced moves to move on in the game but after some research I realized that isnât the case. The controls are glitchy and the double jump doesnât work properly. So after all the time put into the game Iâm stuck and cannot continue to play. Poor design.
- Nickster 303 ¡ v1.5.4
This game is so cool and Iâve been playing it for a long time now. The art and storyline are beautiful but there are a few problems. Itâs a great game it play if you like adventures and chilling but there are a lot of bugs. There will be sections of the game the just log you out and break down. Overall itâs still a fun game. Would recommend.

All the comments rave about the music. To bad it doesnât work on my iPhone. Deleted the app and even restarted my phone and it still didnât work.
- Curen25 ¡ v1.5.3
Let me start by saying I love this game. I adore this game, its music, visuals, the characters, the colors. I played this game on my switch and it was beautiful. You follow an amazing story and journey with Stella and Dafodil and meet different wonderful characters. This game mad me cry and smile multiple times. It is worth it to buy it on a console. This game would be nice on IOS if it is working. The bugs makes it unplayable. And the game often looks fuzzy and pixelated. But what can you expect playing it on your mobile device? It is okay until you get to a point that you cannot progress because a glitch or bug is blocking you from doing so. I do love this game and it is worth playing and hopefully these things will be fixed in the future.
